WE ARE ZERO
This might be a corny, even cringe, catchphrase; however, it's something all of the members believe in. The current ranking system is flawed, and this is not the ideal society that was supposed to be birthed from Stryker's exodus. The citizens of Ornare are in fact greater than the numbers that rule society. This organization can be viewed as a microcosm of the world they choose to believe in. The world the hope will come. They are Zero.
ZERO-Zero is a black ops organization created under King Valentine. The purpose was to give lower ranked mages direction, purpose, and a place to prove their worth. The members recruited are always rank 5 and below, although it is possible to become stronger while in the organization. These missions are usually complicated in nature and require a certain set of skills as opposed to magical power. Many times, their unassuming rank works in their favor during these missions. The reason they remain hidden from society is due to the fact that they often handle issues that normal high ranking mages in the army can't handle, including problems within their own country. This prevents any issues being tied back to the government, or club kingdom should they have to operate outside of the country. Furthermore, with the Jokers increasing influence, this also acts a cover, especially when operating in their own kingdom. Some of the missions they partake in include but are not limited to: Espionage, framings, propaganda, assassinations, investigations (particularly those who have run cold or have been blocked due to status/money), intel gathering.
The organization is relatively new so they have no where near the amount of members as the Jokers. Moreover, not everyone in Zero is meant to partake in dangerous missions. Some members can help by providing food, housing other members that are traveling, misdirecting authorities trying to uncover the group, or providing insider information. The ranking within Zero is also merit based. Because of this, a rank 2 can be the commanding officer of a rank 5, and some lower ranked members hold more influence than their counterparts. With King Valentine obviously at the top, the Zero organization is led by Red Clover, the collective chief officers of Organization Zero.
Current Positions: Note-although these roles/divisions exist, they often work with each other and perform many unrelated duties. These positions were primarily created for organizational purposes, and an establishment of primary duties for efficiency.

Unsworth has a jolly demeanor, and carries himself much like a noble despite his average backgrounds. He is an extremely wise man who now understands what is actually important. Although he was a lot more earnest and hardworking, he prefers to smell the roses now. Basking in the time he has left upon this world; however, a new fire grows in his heart. He wishes to change the current systems for the next generation so that none grow up like him.
Backstory:
Unsworth perhaps has the broadest and most accurate view of the current values of society and its morality. You see, his life was not one of uncommon tragedy, nor was it an extravagant tale of wonder. Unsworth was born completely average. His mother and father were soldiers in the army, ranked 7 and 5 respectively. They never pushed their hopes and dreams on him, nor did they push him to consider a role within the military. He was free to do as he pleased; however, he always admired the mages who fought against Argossians and the other nations, so he pursued making a career out of serving the crowns of Club Kingdom.
When he finally learned his magic, he realized he had an affinity for "Amplification" magic, more specifically, the ability to amplify his thought process. Although this could be useful in many areas in life, this did nothing for his rank. Starting out as a rank 2 did very little for him; however, he was not deterred. He spent the following years rescuing pets in between his grueling training regimen in which he attempted to learn other spells. He even visited quack doctors who claimed they could increase your mana. Even after all of that, he was no closer to learning new spells than when he first began. You see, very few mages have great growth potential, and if they do...they are probably already a high ranking member in society. It is very seldom you would see a rank 2 move up to a rank 10 in their lifetime. Unsworth quickly realized that he didn't have this "growth potential". Realizing that his current magic would probably be the only one he would learn before his death, he instead focused on his physical might. Even in this realm of destructive potential, he was not immensely talented. He put his body through absolute hell, inking out any potential he could from his common existence until the point he eventually reached rank 5 and was allowed to take on missions/battles outside the city.
The platoon he was stationed in was led by an 8 who accepted him for who he was. He often consulted Unsworth for strategy, and advice and the platoon was very successful. During these years, he had some how managed to increase his power to that of a rank 6. However, all good things must come to an end. During an ambush, their squad was nearly taken out. His captain died early in the battle. With no time to regroup, Unsworth took command and somehow escaped with a few other survivors. Through his cunning, and mental fortitude they were able to eliminate the enemy squad and return home although they had lost more that 3/4ths of their squad. Despite his efforts, another high ranking member was given the title as captain, as well as credit for his valiant efforts. At first this didn't bother Unsworth; however, year after year it was the same thing. Moreover, he seemed to have capped at rank 6. There was no improvement, there was no validation, and he became cynical. He became so cynical and bitter that he eventually attacked a superior officer who refused to listen to him when constructing a plan of attack. Unsworth was taken back to the capital and sentenced to prison. Even after his sentence was up, Unsworth elected to remain in confinement having lost the will to live in the outside world. He was labeled as crazy/senile, however, X freed him by giving him another purpose, stating that he believed him. Under the guise as a servant, X recruited him to be the leader of Zero. Unsworth, despite his reservations, accepted, happy to get back to work.

Accelerated Processing-Having already been pretty intelligent, Unsworth is able to 'buff" this ability and perform calculations, reason, and plan at extreme levels. At times, he can even think through a number of things simultaneously.

When looking to start the organization X looked up the records of several mages. There were other candidates with similar stories of being disgraced; however, he chose Unsworth via dice roll.

Shark is always calm, cool, collected and he will rob you blind with a smile. He often hides most of his feelings with a smirk and is always looking for ways to take advantage of others. He isn't above lying, stealing, or doing whatever it takes to stay alive since he is a hustler/swindler at heart. He always speaks eloquently and smoothly.
Backstory:
There wasn't much to his life growing up. His father and mother were not particularly talented and they worked common jobs. He shared a small space with his 4 brothers and 3 sisters, he was the oldest. His parents, realizing they could not take care of the children sold them into slavery for money. It was an understandable position; however, Regeant had overheard his parents discussing that some of them were simply conceived for the sole purpose of slavery. This isn't a common practice, but it is done enough for certain families to have titles as slave farmers. A child of considerable health, or unique qualities can be sold for a pretty high price, yielding a great gain even when considering how much it would cost to raise a child. Moreover, some slave traders prefer the young ones who can have their minds molded before they grow wiser. For other nefarious purposes they sell higher on the black-market as well. And so it was, the Law family was sold and separated. He wouldn't know hoe his brothers and sisters faired, but he was sold to a particularly nasty mage who often got drunk and took his relationship problems out on him. The mage was not particularly rich, someone who had just become a rank 7 and belonged to no noble family; however, he appeared to be stretching himself thin to keep up appearances. Eventually, Law was set free at the age of 14 since the mage was no longer able to maintain the appearance without going bankrupt. However, this left Regeant with few options to fend for himself. He was not particularly talented, nor did he have time to train at a young age. Status be damned, he had to find a way to live first and foremost.
Law began to become a little less than an outlaw. Commiting petty thievery, and swindling others out of their money. His primary method of gaining money was through gambling. After much practice he perfected slight of hand and car dealing; moreover, his ability to amplify his senses further accentuated his abilities. Occasionally, he could even swindle nobles out of their money if they were willing to gamble; however, he was extremely careful in those cases, often preferring them to be a little under the influence so they wouldn't remember his face. It wasn't much of a life but at least he had one.
He crossed paths with X before he became King. They both happened to be visiting an orphanage at the time. Law was there first, and was teaching them how to play poker. (Never said he was a role model). X being an avid gambler challenged him without knowing who he was. Of course, Law won pretty soundly by using his skills. Being particularly annoyed by the fact that someone interrupted his lesson with the orphans, Law did a bit....too well. Unconcerned with being found out, X easily called him out on it; however, Law shrugged it off, claiming X was simply a sore loser. He challenged him a few more times only to achieve the same result. Fast forward a few years and X eventually became the King of Clubs. By chance they would meet again under less than favorable circumstances. X happened to be out and about, ignoring his duties as he often did while Law was planning on his latest heist. Although his mind was against such an idea he decided to brush past a group of high ranking mages leaving a pub and pick their pockets. Everything wasn't according to plan, and they weren't as drunk as they were letting on. Realizing whom to culprit was, they chased after Law until he ran into X. The mages who were wrong, initially shocked to see X, demanded they take possession of the criminal. X de-escalated the situation, telling Law to return all of the stolen goods; however, he also promised to personally rough up the thief. This was enough for the mages who were looking for a night to simply unwind. X provided the ultimatum of working for him or serving jail time. Of course Law chose the former. He primarly works at the Casino as a card shark/mechanic however he doubles as an agent of Zero, seeking to fight for Club Kingdom in the shadows, even if its against that very Kingdom.

Sensory Amplification- Regeant has the ability to amplify any of senses above that of the average human.
Sight-Can see details a couple of miles out, or notice details that are usually hidden from the average person. Moreover, he can keep track of speeds that are 200+ his physical.
Hearing: Can hear someone whispering from up to 15 meters away, and can hear
Smell: Can track scents much like a hound
Taste: taste is amplified considerably. This is most useful and determining if things are poisoned, or other chemical components.
Touch: Since of touch is amplified to the point that he can pick up a random stack of cards and be certain of the amount. An example of his touch sensitivity would be if one was to tap him on the shoulder, he would feel the moving air as someone moves to perform the act, before they actually touch his shoulder. By feeling this pressure, he is able to react to those at least +200 physical above him.
6th Sense-The enigmatic 6th sense that is sometimes scene as future sight. (THink Spiderman), by tapping into his final sense, his instincts are amplified above that of a trained fighter. This allows him to move at +300 physical since he does not have to worry about thinking about his movements. Using this takes a considerable toll on his body once the technique ends. It is wise to use it in bursts to conserve energy as opposed to remaining in this state.

She's the doll of Club Society and everyone loves her. SHe's always cordial, kind, and loving. So much in fact that it wouldn't be a surprise if anyone thought it was an act. However, even after all she had been through she doesn't hold too much hatred in her heart although she is apprehensive about being around humans outside of those within Zero. Even then, she doesn't trust too many people outside of Shark and X. Despite her fears, she puts on a brave face to make change.
Backstory:
Her life was normal, for a fairy in club kingdom. Like most fairies she lived within Noah's Park, protected by the natural terrain as well as other species who respected the way of the fairies. She never once thought about fighting, wars, or even inequality. She simply wanted to live in peace within her small world. However, there are always those who wish for nothing but destruction. She was always warned to stay away from humans. She was told of their greed and malice; nevertheless, she did not listen. She befriended a human living in Cliffwood. He was kind, and nature loving. Eventually they would fall in love, or so she thought. A slave trader within the black market was hunting fairies. Even for the most shrewd and cunning hunters, finding the elusive race of fairies within Noah's Park would be a daunting task. Yet at the time it became so simple.
Media went out to meet with the boy she had befriended, only to find out it was a trap. She was captured and placed on the black market. Her human friend in return would gain a tremendous amount of money, as well as status for simply providing the slave.
The noble she went to treated her more like a prize than a slave, and in many cases that was almost an even worse fate. She was isolated, sometimes he had forgot to feed her and he would rarely let her take adequate baths, afraid that she would escape. However, whenever it was time for her to make an appearance he either would change up the routine, or use glamour if he was too lazy to actually take care of her. His associates and family would gawk, and point...treating her like an exhibit. At times she would even be forced to sing their favorite songs. These often related to human superiority, war, and valor...all things she detested.
The first real mission for Zero would take place on her behalf. X had overheard a conversation between this noble and another mage during one of their fancy events. X would later join in on the conversation to learn more about the slave market, and how he obtained a fairy slave. Anyone with common sense would know that a slave of that race was likely to have been obtained illegally. Fairies are virtually non-existent in the legal slave market, and they are not a race that would sell their own, or work under humans; in fact, they do their best to stay out of sight. Even still, everyone turned a blind eye to what was a clear crime due to their status. X invited him out to his casino, an invitation he quickly accepted. Here, X fixed the games so that he would do well...really well. Sure they lost out on some money, but it would be a small price to pay. Eventually, he would develop a gambling addiction, and at the perfect moment another customer managed to push him to wagering a bit more than he should have, and Law quickly acted on it, making sure he lost. The noble would continue to try to win his money back, but that only dug him into a deeper hole; however, the hole couldn't be too deep less he sell his slave for money. One night when X decided to visit the casino, he challenged the man to a game of poker. Law made sure the match was give and take, but on X's signal, he began to win handedly. It got to the point he didn't have enough money to match X's ridiculous bets; moreover, he was at risk at losing face and standing amongst the crowd that was there. After claiming he wasn't interested in anything the man had to offer, the noble offered his slave in one final heave of desperation. In return, he would regain double the money he had lost in this game. Of course, X agreed. For this game; however, he demanded that a 3rd party mage take witness for any suspicious behavior. X also agreed to this. Although Law could still cheat without using magic, X gave him the signal to play the game out naturally. In one final game, X defeated the noble and took ownership of the slave. It is believed that the noble has not overcome is gambling addiction.
Once free X asked something of her, something that would be very difficult. He asked her to help him, to help humans, and trust them after all that has happened. Of course, she declined initially, returning to her home and reuniting with her family after a few years of hell. Despite this, she could not sleep at night knowing these were the atrocities being committed to various people, races, creatures, and ranks. Her peaceful bubble was no more, and she could not simply stand by while others go through the same thing as her. She decided to trust a human one more time for the sake of the country, and for the sake of hope.

Sandman is incredibly laid back, pessimistic and lazy. It's very hard to rattle him simply because he expects bad things to happen all of the time. He is a bit of a coward and it is hard to get him to really stick his neck out for people, but he doesn't want to remain this way.
Backstory:
Valen was born into an extremely unique situation. He was born into a very powerful family, recognized as a noble family; however, for some odd reason or another he was extremely spoiled. The family was so strong that even giving birth to a mage of low potential did little to change their standing overall although other families might have leap frogged them in notoriety. The did little to influence Valen one way or the other. They simple continued to reap benefits of their status and pass those fruits to Valen. He didn't have to do much outside of attend the occasionally party, and even then it was advised he hanged in the back.
When he became of age, he was sent to marry off into another family that had been struggling to keep their status, the Gyles. He was betrothed to a rank 7 woman. At first the marriage seems odd on the surface; however, the good name of a noble family can be just as valuable as the rank itself. Although Valen was of low rank, the Gyles hoped that some of that powerful bloodline would enter their family, and the Vega's would make use of their son. Make no mistake, they still loved him dearly; however, they couldn't stand seeing him waddle aimless through life. Despite the respect for his bloodline, the Gyle family had little respect for Valen. They would never outright disrespect him, but he could see the looks, overhear some of the whispers, and his 'wife' always seemed to be more interested in some of the warriors who passed by through town. All in all, it was a business transaction, and Valen was too lazy to fight against the flow. Nor did he want to; he simply wanted to live a simple life and die...or so he thought. At the very least, he got an allowance.
Valen was approached by X, a few weeks before Media was rescued. He had heard about him from one of the Owls. To keep a long story short, X ridiculed him...playfully of course; however, something he said resonated with Valen. Simply going with the flow might lead a comfortable life, but a cage made of velvet was still a cage. It was a simple notion, but one that finally stuck. From then on Valen would use his position to help Zero. Given his position he was the perfect treasurer, and what's more he acts as Media's manager.

Dreamscape--by marking individuals he can enter the dreamscape to make contact with them 1 mile for every 10 mana. Furthermore, if multiple people marked with his rune are sleeping, he can pull them all into his dream. Of course, he can also manipulate the dreams of others, but should anyone discover that their dreams are being manipulated they can always resist him and dispel his ability if they have a higher mana stat. This is the primary place aside from the casino that Zero holds their meetings and share intel. Furthermore, time passes by much faster when compared with real life. Because of this, extensive planning can be done in a relatively short amount of time.
Knockout Punch-At any time he can make himself fall asleep
Autopilot-While asleep, his body limiters are off, this allows him to control his body from within his dream. During a fight he doesn't feel pain, and his limiters are all but inexistent giving him a +200 in this state.

Backstory:
Zeb did not always dress up as a clown; in fact, he made his way through life as an acrobatic entertainer in a traveling circus. He always knew that the life of a solider wasn't for him. His parents were also of common background, so they did not fight him on this issue. So he went, traveling from city to city, village to village as part of the circus troupe. However, by chance he happened to match the description of a serial killer in the area. He was apprehended, and despite his pleas was detained in the city jail to be executed without the Queen's knowledge. They claimed that no one would make a fuss about his disappearance. Even despite evidence supporting that he was not the killer, they were determined to satisfy the populace, and the sacrifice of a commoner (rank 3 at the time) would be enough to appease the people. During this time he was treated poorly in prison, interrogated harshly, and he had to regularly fight against his cellmate who had actually committed a crime. He was lucky to be alive at all.
By some twisted luck, another murder happened within the city while he was detained. The victime had similar injuries when compared to the others they had found. This time, a higher ranking official caught the mass murderer; however, to save face they did not release Zebedee right away. They left him confined for 3 years until realizing that he had been unjustly detained, but by this time everyone had moved on. His troupe had apparently gone out of business and scattered while he was incarcerated. He was their lead performer after all. Unsure of what to do with his life he began to wander the streets and tell anyone who would listen of this tragedy. It was at this point he started wearing clown make up to hide his damaged face. At one point he came across Law, who was working for X at this time. Law said their might be a way for him to share his story after all and referred him to X. Of course X took him in and loaned him some money (with the help of the treasurer) to begin his troupe. The troupe performs many different types of acts; however, they are most famous for their tragic stories. Using this, he recuirts other members for Zero and even trains/teaches new members the ropes before they are assigned to a faction.

A basic form of magic in which he can make himself, objects, or others heavier/lighter by touching the objects. When making himself, or others lighter he can increase their physical speed up to a total of 300; however, their physical strength actually decreases by that much as well. The opposite holds true in which he can increase their overall weight/durability by a max of 300, but their physical speed is also decreased by that much.

Backstory:
Her life was not particularly tragic despite being a low ranking member in society. It is easy to forget sometimes that there is a life outside of bloodshed and military might; however, her dream was always to be a chef. Her parents were modest chef's. Running a small bakery near the poorer areas of Strebishit, yet she aspired to be more. Thankful for the path her parents laid out on her, she began to cook at a young age. She wanted others in the world to experience the feeling she got when her father, or mother came home with an extra cake or pie filled with love. Eventually, even her magic would be integrated in some of her cooking.
As she grew older and began to make strike out on her own, she discovered she wanted to cook much more than desserts. She sought everything, and anything. Her parents were even happy to partake in some of her less than stellar combinations. She opened up her own food chain and it broke out big when word of the unique properties her food possessed. It was particularly famous amongst commoners. Even some nobles would pay her a visit; however, other nobles were too pretentious and prideful to acknowledge her skills as a cook. Eventually, her small resteraunt was set a blaze; however, the culprits were unable to be named. She has struggled with vandalisim for years, even after she had to relocate due to the Argossian attacks; however, she was asked to be the personal chef for Zero. They would give her the perfect opportunity to show off her skills and support them from the sidelines.

Bridgettes Tea Party is a unique magic that allows her to create food that not only heals, and restores mana; however, depending on what she cooks (or what you need) she can add buffs/remove debuffs. However, the main purposed of food involves reinvigorating the customer.

Backstory:
You could say she has been stuck in the family business, for whatever that was worth. Her family struggled to earn money, and this was exasperated by the war. Her father was the owner of brothel in the ...'red light district'. At the very least, it was better than the underground brothels in Brigok; however, the fact that he made his wife and Neko's older sisters take part in their services was in poor taste. Nevertheless, it allowed her to live a comfortable life...well as comfortable as one could be. Eventually, her father was drafted into the war after things took a turn for the worst. He would later die during a small battle, and their family scattered. To take care of her mother, Neko became the owner of the brothels. However, some good did come of it. Although, it isn't usually someone's first choice in their career path, she was able to provide a place, and source of income for those with nowhere to go. In a strange sense they are like family.
Because many men, and sometimes women...to be frank, come and go, news travels fast. Most people here seem to have looser lips do to being destracted. Knowing this, Unsworth requested that she be added to the ranks of Zero. She had her reservations, but decided it would be worth it. If she could stick it to some of the rich pompous men in her life, it would be worth it.

Shape shifting-She has the ability to use her magic to physically change her appearance. This is not to be confused with glamour, or illusions. This ability has been useful for a number of reasons. Mainly due to the fact that one cannot "sense" mana involvement since she has physically altered her body.

Smoke manipulation-Can manipulate and turn body into smoke. Physical attacks are nearly useless when she is in this state; however, it takes time for her body recuperate if a powerful enough magic is used to dissipate it. Elemental attacks can cause damage however. She can also enter the body of individuals and oxidize their organs while she is in a smoke state. Moreover, she can partially transform, using any items she has on her from within her smoke like body. In general, she has control of smoke outside of manipulating her own body.
Subspell: Can escape through the poors of the earth and reappear in another location. Often used to avoid attacks or escape.
