Name-Farlow Jos

Appearance-

692354389194727edb56c744433ef94c.jpg

Age-At the current time, Farlow is twenty-three years of age as of the 7th of July.

Personality-Farlow is exceedingly confident in everything that he does, and tends to not really let people forget about that fact. He tends to wear it like a giant badge, complete with neon signs, and as such, tends to be rather arrogant and cocky whenever he is doing something he is good at, to the point where it is almost painful.

While Farlow doesn't mind with helping concerning the protection plan he was more or less forced into doing, he would very much rather be doing something else. Something more stimulating. Such as reading a book, or skiing (which he is extremely good at, according to what he has stated in the past).

Farlow could be viewed as a person with a large amount of energy. He rarely tires, and is exceptionally athletic, even though he doesn't train or anything of the sort when it isn't strictly required. This could be due to his strange ability to move objects of all kinds using only his mind. When Farlow does so, however, depending on heavy the object is, the more painful it is for him to move the object, resulting in a throbbing headache later, if he was to, for instance, move a car. In addition to this, Farlow is not exactly limited as to how many things he can pick up and move around. He is more limited to the collective weight. Farlow isn't exactly one to admit he is limited by his powers.

Biography-Shall be revealed.

Scarlett had always loved her father's office. The crystal walls extended all around the office, allowing the person inside to gaze down on the city. Of course, the office was at the top of the great skyscraper that hosted NextGen Industries. It was an appropriate place for the company founder after all. Of course, not only was the office the highest in the city but it was also very well furnished. Just the chair Scarlett was sitting on was extremely comfortable. The couch, some feet away, could be seen to be of good quality. Even the shelves full of books were modern and very well taken care of. However, the appreciation of the space was suddenly interrupted as she heard someone come in through the glass doors. When Scarlett saw her father walk in, she smiled and got up to hug him. Equally glad, her father returned the hug. They had not seen each other since the last time she came to visit. After all, Scarlett had just graduated and arrived in the city today.

Quickly, Scarlett sat back down on the chair while her father sat on the other side. His face was serious as he address his daughter. It was surprising to Scarlett that her father wanted to stay in his office to meet her. Normally, they would pick up something to eat and go visit Scarlett's mother so they could all eat together. Instead, the apparent seriousness of the situation made Scrlett feel nervous. "Why....are we meeting here, father?" The man couldn't help but crack a small smile. His daughter always seemed to catch on quickly. However, that smile quickly turned into a serious and regretful expression. It was almost painful, in fact. "Scarlett, there's something important I need you to see." The man said, and opened a folder that had been on his arm since he arrived. He then handed the papers out to her daughter. The papers were typed instead of handwritten, which made it easier to read its contents. However, the girl was not happy to understand the words. It was a threat. A letter that assured the kidnapping of Scarlett if NextGen Industries didn't lower its standards within a week. The young girl reading the letter stayed quiet for a second. Then, she looked up at her father with anger and fear in her eyes. Mostly fear. "When did you get these? You can't stop production, father. Mother needs the constant care." Scarlett said, despite the fear boiling inside of her. Scarlett's mother was gravely ill and she needed constant medical attention, which made the great amount of money her father earned quite useful.

Upon her daughter's response and facial expression, the man sighed. His face full of worry. "I...I know. If we didn't need the money, I would shut down the entire company. I got these a few days ago, but.....I think I have a solution. Scarlett....I have hired a bodyguard for you." The young girl's father admitted. He knew perfectly well that Scarlett wouldn't like the idea. The girl was too independent to have someone follow her around. However, she had to understand the graveness of the situation. Like he predicted, Scarlett made a face of displeasure. "Father, I doubt that's necessary. You know I can defend myself." Scarlett really could. Against a small number of men though. Either way, she didn't like the idea of a bodyguard. No one had tried harming her, anyway. If someone really wanted to kidnap her, they would have done so earlier, right? "Well, I'm sorry but you don't have a choice in the matter." Before Scarlett could protest though, a knock was heard at the door. "And that should be him." The man said, opening the door to reveal the guy who would be protecting her from now on.

Farlow's morning had been what many people would call interesting. He had woken up (unsurprisingly) and had eaten breakfast (again, unsurprisingly), however, after that, he had had to go and shop for a blazer. The thing was, Farlow never looked neat and tidy. He always looked acceptable. Or borderline acceptable. Never exceedingly neat though. this was the odd part. For him, at least, as he had to go into some kind of fashion store. Which was horrific.

However, half an hour after entering the shop, Farlow left, complete with a black blazar and a deep blue stripped tie, which he had to try and put on in his cramped car prior to heading off to the large skyscraper of a building that was home to NextGen Industries. Farlow was well aware of what his job was. He had to protect some girl he didn't even know. He had never done a job like this before, and was more than happy with his rather curious job of working in a library, where he frequently exploited his strange power when people weren't looking (employers, fellow staff members or otherwise). He was more than confident with this particular job though. How many people would go out of their way to look for one girl in a city of thousands? No matter, really. Farlow was confident. Confident he would get the job done and receive the promised amount of money.

And so it had begun when Farlow had entered the NextGen Industries skyscraper, which exceeding in scraping the sky. So much to the point it seemed to have ruptured it with just how tall the building actually was. And surprise, surprise, Farlow had to travel to the top floor to actually arrive at the required office. But first, of course, was the required paperwork, as this was indeed a workplace that he was entering. And NextGen seemed to be rather staunch regarding such matters as security and identification of the various people who entered their building, business or otherwise.

Finally, upon completing the papers, Farlow made for the elevator, in which he selected the very top floor and was whisked there in an instant, where he disembarked and began to negotiate around the confusing set of corridors to try and find the office he was wanting. Instead of finding the office, however, he instead found a set of hilariously cliche water coolers and a set of strange paintings, depicting rather concerning re-imaginings of classic works of art.

But then, Farlow found the office. Without wasting any time, he straightened this tie and blazer, and progressed over, knocking on the door. Much to his surprise, a man had opened it. Casting a quick look around the office, Farlow noted a woman was also in the room, and he figured that the "girl" he was supposed to look out was in fact this woman. She looked to be about his age (although he'd think that, after being told her age by the man who had employed him), with brown eyes that seemed to grow darker towards the pupil, and long, light brown hair.

'Hello,' Farlow said simply, greeting both of the people in the room. He smiled at man before extending his hand. 'Farlow,' he said, his smile warm. 'But you already knew that, no? I said it more for the benefit of who I assume to be your daughter over there,' Farlow added, motioning across the room.

The young woman watched as a man with a blazer and tie came in. His blond hair and dark colored eyes seemed to be his most stunning features. His smile was warm and inviting. Nonetheless, Scarlett didn't seem all the pleased. She didn't need someone to follow her everywhere. She had things to do and errands to run now that she was back. Having someone alongside her all the time would simply prove to be annoying and unnecessary. Of course, it wasn't like Scarlett was perfectly calm about the possibility of being kidnapped. She was scared but she felt like this guy following her around wouldn't help the situation. Plus, she was worried about her mother. Scarlett had no idea what this information might do to her mother's health. The sick woman could not find out her daughter had received a kidnapping threat.

With a sigh, Scarlett stood up from her chair and made her way to Farlow. Truthfully, she thought it kind of rude that he hadn't introduced himself to her directly. Especially since her father already knew his name. "Pleasure. My name is Scarlett and yes, I'm his daughter. I appreciate the fact you came all the way here, but your services are not needed. I'll be fine." The girl said with a determined look. Her father, on the other hand, didn't look like he agreed with his daughter. The two stared at each other for a second until Scarlett finally let out a sigh of annoyance and sat down in the nearby couch. Meanwhile, her father motioned for Farlow to follow towards the desk at the center of the office. "Pardon my daughter. You will soon find she's not too happy with the arrangement." The man said while Scarlett looked around her father's books. She really didn't feel like listening to their conversation. "Anyways, let's talk business now. Here are the threats, if you want to look at them. Due to the fact she might need constant protection, I think it would be better to set up a room for you at our main home." Her father said, waiting until Farlow was done with the letters.

Farlow listened politely as the man introduced him to his daughter, whom Farlow had noticed was loitering over by a large bookshelf. Being one attracted to books, Farlow yearned to be able to go and look at the shelf, but he had to remind himself he was here for a job, not to try and see if the shelf needed to be sorted, which it most probably didn't.

Raising an eyebrow at the mention of "main home", Farlow cast a wary look at the girl again. She looked perfectly normal. But then again, so did he, and he was, for the most part that was. But he wasn't for the other part. Farlow was under the impression that the man knew of what he could do, but he wasn't as sure regarding his daughter, Scarlett. Why else would he ask Farlow to protect his daughter, when there were plenty of other decent bodyguards out there, who actually did this kind of job for a living. It wasn't like Farlow was the impressive looking either. But that was irrelevant. He was here on the job now, and he would remain on it.

The letters seemed fairly standard to Farlow. Threats were there, unsurprisingly. And something about kidnapping. Which was good. Or not, depending on how it was looked at. Farlow handed back the letters to the man, his mouth a thin gash across his face. 'I see,' he mused, raising his hand slightly up and then putting it down, reminding himself he was with other people and biting on his finger nails wouldn't be the best thing to do here. 'Where is your "main home" exactly?' Farlow asked, casting his gaze around the room again. 'I do feel it'd be best to head there at once. I have a car. Not the most impressive one though, mind.'

Once Farlow asked the location of the main home, Scarlett's father nodded. He took out a paper and wrote down the address for him. Although they had several houses, the main house was quite close to the hospital Scarlett's mother was stationed. It was the house where the family would stay in the event her mother could come home for a period of time. It was nice to be close to the hospital, in case an emergency were to arise. Plus, it was the bigger house and the one with enough room to allow Farlow to move in. "I feel the same. However, I am quite busy at the moment. How about Scarlett shows you around the house? Either way, she needs to unpack." It was true. Scarlett had all the suitcases from her college arrival still in her car. She had to go back to the house anyways. "You can just follow behind her. In case you get lost, here's the address." He said, and handed him the paper with the address written on it, along with his phone number in case he ran into problems. Hopefully, this man would be able to protect his daughter. It was obvious Scarlett's father knew about Farlow's ability. He wouldn't have hired such an inexperienced bodyguard otherwise.

Scarlett, upon hearing this, looked annoyed. Of course, she was facing the suitcase so her displeasure wasn't visible. Truthfully, she was surprised the man was going to stay at her home. Scarlett had half a mind to go and protest to her father. However, although stubborn, she wasn't rude. Scarlett would have to talk to her father later, when they were alone. And so, Scarlett's father stood up and went over to Scarlett. "Please try not to be so difficult." The man said, hugged his daughter, and then left. Meanwhile, the young girl was left alone with Farlow. "Is there any chance I can convince you to reject the job? I know it can't be fun looking after someone all day." Scarlett said, hoping that might strike a cord and make him cooperate with her.

Farlow bit his lip when the man-Scarlett's father-left the room. He could see that the man's daughter wasn't impressed by the fact she had to have someone watching over her like a small child prone to breaking into the medicine cabinet and trying to drink the paracetamol, and so Farlow decided he would have to try and come off as "human" to her as possible, by talking and joking with her. That seemed to be the best way to get on her side. Not come off as having the personality and shape of an extremely poorly cut block of wood.

However, when Scarlett tried to persuade Farlow to stop the job, he was genuinely hurt. Did this girl already not like him? Was it something he had said? Farlow was normally so confident, and this girl, in simply saying that, had made him feel useless. Nonetheless, Farlow wasn't going to let Scarlett manipulate him. Not at all. He had a job, one that her father had asked him to do, no less! Farlow was so very nearly ready to crack out his telekinesis, but restrained himself. It wasn't needed. Yet. However, if the girl didn't go with him, he may have to break the windows and hang her outside until she begged to go with him. Or maybe not.

'You are coming with me, no matter what,' Farlow growled bluntly. 'Your father wanted me to do this, so I'm doing it. And who knows? We might enjoy this.'

OOC: Sorry it took so long.

Really, it was not Scarelett's intention to hurt the guy's feelings. Sometimes, the girl said things that sounded perfectly alright to her but might not be very considerate to other people. Her reaction would have been the same, regardless of the person that was assigned to be her bodyguard. She just didn't want to be followed around all the time. Scarlett was not a baby anymore. The girl was a grown woman that could defend herself.

However, she grew even more mad when he bluntly told her that she was coming with him. The girl wasn't going anywhere she didn't want to go. "Really? Because it seems like neither of us wants to be here. So, I'm leaving. I have to go back home and then to the hospital. Follow me if you must." Scarlett said, turned around, and then left the office. Of course, it seemed like Farlow was going to follow her anyways.

After a short, but kind of awkward, elevator ride Scarlett arrived to the lobby. The secretaries greeted her in a friendly manner and Scarlett answered the same way. When she was being friendly, her smile was charming and kind. Of course, the secretaries weren't annoying her.

Once outside, Scarlett got inside her own car which wasn't that far away from her bodyguard's vehicle. Quickly enough, the young girl started driving. Although she was annoyed, she wasn't rude enough to actually try and lose him on purpose. Instead, she just drove to her home like usual. Whether he got lost or not would not be Scarlett's fault.

Farlow hadn't particularly impressed with Scarlett's actions thus far. The elevator ride had been awkward, and Farlow hadn't made an effort to try and communicate with the obnoxious brat while they had been in the the tight space together. In fact, Farlow had been more than happy to have breathing room once the elevator did touch down on the ground level, as he now didn't have to share breathing space with Scarlett.

And then she was off, out to her car and driving away. Farlow had had to run outside to catch up and drive quickly, having to try and beat red lights when required in order to try and not lose the girl. At least she didn't seem to be trying to throw him off her trail, which was nice. She was following her father's orders to some extent, it seemed. Farlow was pleased to see this. He didn't need her to know that he was rather incompetent when it came to actually being a bodyguard. Farlow really didn't want to be shown up by a girl in a somewhat fancy car.

Farlow continued to follow, trying to not to lose track of the car. He was ready to pull into whatever parking area he needed to at a moment's notice. Which was good, as he really wasn't sure where the house was.

After a little while, Scarlett arrived at a residence with a closed gate. She typed in the pass code and quickly informed the security guard of the man following behind her. Again, although Scarlett might appear like a spoiled brat, she really wasn't. However, that didn't mean she was a pushover and perfectly fine with someone following her around all day, everyday.

And so, after she had parked in the driveway Scarlett got out and went over to her trunk. The girl then began to lift and take out suitcases. Even with her bodyguard close by, she asked for no help. Scarlett could carry her own things, after all. Nonetheless, the moment the staff was informed of her arrival, a line of butlers came out to take her things. Scareltt never really liked having everything done for her but she really couldn't complain. After all, they were simply doing their job.

The young girl greeted everyone with a familiar and friendly smile. It had been a while since she had stepped foot into the main residence. The house, just like the driveway was big and beautiful. It wasn't exactly a mansion but it was quite bigger than the average house.

Although Scarlett wanted to unpack as soon as possible, she needed to get to the hospital soon. It was later than she expected and visiting hours would be over quickly. With a sigh, she then turned to her bodyguard. "I'm going to the hospital now. It's a personal visit so I would much rather you stay here. I won't be long." She said. Scarlett never really liked having company when she visited her mother. Her father was the exception, of course. Plus, Scarlett could not allow her mother to find out Scrlett needed a bodyguard. It would only make her worry.

The girl-Scarlett-had really thrown a spanner into the works of Farlow's mind with that one request. Or statement. Either or. Apparently, the girl was going to a hospital. And she wanted Farlow to stay back at the house he had only just arrived at. No, that wasn't going to be happening. Not at all. Farlow wasn't going to let that happen. Not so soon. Whoever wanted to kidnap her was descend upon Scarlett with haste and snatch her up, never to be seen again by anyone but them. And Farlow wouldn't be doing his job. Well, he wouldn't have done his job, as she would be gone then. Gone forever, no doubt.

'I'm not going to let you leave on your own,' Farlow said bluntly, his tone becoming similar to the growl he had adopted earlier back in the sky-scraping mammoth of a building . 'I'm not not going to leave you alone, okay?' Farlow snarled, 'if it is personal, I'll leave you to go into the room on your own. But I'm not going to leave you to go alone.' It was at this point Farlow let out a loud sigh. 'Look, I understand I'm being slightly overprotective. I have only just met you, and you've only just met me, but think about how your mother and father would feel if they lost you forever. They wouldn't be happy, would they? No. They'd be distraught. Now, I hope you'll understand why I'm coming with you.'

The worse part about Farlow's argument is that it was corect. Shw did not want to hurt her mother and father by being kidnapped. However, losint her independence was a very hard thing for her. Maybe that was why she didn't have a boyfriend. "In that case, get in the car." The girl said, not really agreeing with him but not saying anything either. Scarlett just wanted to go see her mother.

And so, once they were both inside her car, Scarlett began driving to the hospital. "So, tell me, why are you a bodyguard." The girl asked as she drove to see her mother. Scarlett was trying to make conversation, but such a thing did not come easily to her.

There it was. That question. That question. The one question that Farlow hadn't wanted to hear. Why? He didn't have an answer. Nor a reason. Just one day, when he had been working, an email had come through, questioning him about whether or not he'd be interested in a job protecting a girl. Or woman, as he had found out upon arriving to do his job. The truth was-Farlow wasn't a bodyguard. He wasn't even sure how one became one. He didn't know if there was a special training of any kind. The only reason that Farlow could think of regarding why he had this job was because of his telekinesis. That seemed to be the only reason. But then again, that raised more questions than answer. How did Scarlett's father know he could move things with his mind? How had he found out Theo's email address?

'Yes, well, about that,' Farlow said, debating the truth. He was going to have to try and change the subject. 'Are you insulting me?' He questioned, turning his gaze from the passing shops and houses outside to look at Scarlett. 'Do I not look large enough for you? Is that? Were you expecting me to be muscled and stereotyped?'

Scarlett was seriously trying to be nice here. However, the fact that he had turned a simple question into an attack annoyed the crap out of her. "Seriously? All I did was ask you a question. I know nothing besides the fact you're a bodyguard. Ever heard of polite conversation?" Scarlett said, defending herself. Her voice had not altered by much. She was in no way screaming. She simply sounded a bit annoyed. Finally, due to the proximity to the main house, Scarlett arrived to the hospital. Without much word, she reached to the backseat and pulled out a bouquet of red roses.

She then turned off the car, got out, and went inside the hospital. Once the nurses at the front saw her, they smiled. Scarlett, despite her annoyed state, smiled back. Most of the nurses in her mother's area knew her. After all, the girl came to visit as often as she could.

Knowing her damn bodyguard was following, Scarlett simply walked to the elevator and went to the floor where her mother was stationed. Once outside the door, she turned to Farlow. "Stay here. And if anyone asks, you are not my bodyguard. I hate to say this...but it might be best if you pretend to be my boyfriend. My mother can't know about the threats." She said, saying for the first time who was behind that door. Although she really didn't want to think of him as her boyfriend, it would be the only explanation as to why they would always be together. She knew the nurses here would tell her mother of the handsome young guy Scarlett had brought.

And with that, Scarlett reached for the door and stepped into her mother's private room.

Farlow hadn't said anything to Scarlett following what he now considered to be a verbal attack on her in the car. It had been rather rude of him. She was exactly right-she was trying to have a polite conversation, and Farlow, being the kind of person that he was, decided to make an argument out of it. Which was rather foolish of him, as it seemed to make him even higher on Scarlett's list of people she regarded in the same way as one regards weevils when they find them in the porridge. But Farlow wasn't going to admit that Scarlett was indeed right, and that he shared the same feelings regarding the matter. Oh no, no, no. He was in no way going to admit that and come out making it look like it was his mistake (which it admittedly was).

But then again, Farlow wasn't very impressed with Scarlett either, particularly when she decided that telling her mother she now had a boyfriend seemed like a perfectly good idea. Which, for Farlow at least, it wasn't. Scarlett didn't seem to impressed by the thought either, but then again, if it was Scarlett's mother that they were dealing with, it seemed like the only explanation, unless the woman's husband had informed her of the fact that their daughter may be kidnapped. Which was probably not the best idea, especially since the lady was in hospital, and no doubt didn't need the extra stress.

Stepping into the room after Scarlett, Farlow looked around, remembering to act like her boyfriend. It was a nice room, this one, with a view over the street, which was lined with lush, green trees. Light streamed in through the window, and there seemed to only be one person in the room. And that one person, Farlow assumed, was Scarlett's mother.

OOC: I hope you're alright with making Farlow seemed like her boyfriend. A little more drama to spice things up~

Scarlett's mother (http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/characters/9/49826.jpg) was on a bed, reading a book. However, the moment she heard the door, the woman turned to look at the pair that had come through. First, she seemed overjoyed when her daughter came in front. Next, she looked surprised. Was that a guy next to her? Scarlett had never brought anyone to come and visit her. Did that mean he was special? Well, she would have to see.

Scarlett, just as her mother, felt happy to see her. The girl quickly got her bouquet and gave it to her mother. "How are you feeling, mother?" The lady smiled and nodded. "I'm fine. What about you? You're a chemist now! I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your graduation." The girl shook her head and smiled. "It's okay mother. I'm glad you're alright though." Her mother smiled again, but was now looking at the guy next to her daughter. "I don't believe we have met before. My name is Sarah, Scarlett's mother. And who might you be?" The woman asked with a warm and lovely smile. When Scarlett wasn't annoyed, she looked a lot like her mother.

OOC: Why most certainly.

Farlow had been expecting the question for Scarlett's mother, the recently introduced Sarah. Why would she not be curious as to whom he, Farlow, was. He was with her daughter, after all, and it wasn't like she had ever seen him before. However, before the question had been asked, Farlow enjoyed receiving a little more information regarding Scarlett. For instance, he now knew she was a chemist. And she had graduated recently. That was interested, if thoroughly useless information that her father could have told Farlow if he had asked nice enough.

'Oh, well,' Farlow mumbled, fumbling for the right words, very well aware of how bad he was at acting as Scarlett's boyfriend. 'I'm Scarlett's boyfriend,' Farlow finally said, deciding that the best way to get through this would be to word it simply. 'We met in a library, of all places,' he added with a laugh, providing reason as to why he was with the woman's-Sarah's-daughter in the first place. 'I work there, you see. Books are my passion, so when Scarlett needed to find one, I gladly helped her and as you can see...' Farlow trailed off, aware of just how awful this was.

Truthfully, if she had not been in front of her mother, Scarlett might have laughed at how pathetic his introduction sounded. Although she did have to wonder if what he was saying was true. Did he really love books that much? If he did, then Scarlett could show him the library once they got back home. It was huge and her favorite place in the house. Nonetheless, after his attempt, Scarlett laughed and turned to her mother. "His name is Farlow, mother." Sarah, on the other hand, was not very convinced. Although it was obvious they did not love each other, there was something about the young man that seemed right. Who knew, maybe they could have a future together. And so, Sarah decided not to say anything. Instead, she smiled again. "Nice to meet you, dear. Please, take care of my daughter." Sarah said, still not knowing her daughter was in the verge of getting kidnapped.

And like this, Scarlett talked to her mother for a good hour. Unlike before, the girl seemed to be much happier. She was smiling and laughing with Sarah. Oh, how she had missed talks with her mother like this when she was in college.

Finally, a nurse came over and told them visiting hours were over. Although they had been over a little while ago. Scarlett had always been allowed a little extra time. The nurses had always felt a little bad about the girl's mother always being in the hospital. And so, Scarlett turned to her mother. "I'll see you tomorrow, mother." Scarlett said. Sarah nodded and kissed her daughter on the forehead. "Okay. I love you honey. It was nice meeting you, Farlow." The mother said with a smile. Then, Scarlett waved goodbye and left the room. Once outside, Scarlett looked extremely worried for a second. Her mother seemed fine, but Scarlett had noticed the pale look on her face. The slight shaking of her hands. The girl was so worried. However, seeing as Farlow was here, she recovered quickly. "Anyways, let's go."

'Firstly,' Farlow said once they were out of the room. 'I'm sorry for how poorly I did back in there. I'm not particularly great at improvising stories or making lies. Which way you wish to see what happened,' he said with a sigh. 'And if you are wondering, yes, I do work in a library, and yes, I do have an almost creepy love for books. I told you I'm not very good at lying, see?' Farlow added with a brief, tuneless laugh.

Farlow walked over to the elevator and pressed the button to call the it either up or down, depending on where it was. While he stood there, waiting for Scarlett to come over, Farlow thought of the visit he had just been part of. There were questions that had been answered inside of the hospital room, and questions that had been opened up to Farlow. However, a large number of them he didn't feel right to ask, as he didn't want to come off as prying. But one that did interest him considerably was the question of just what was wrong with Scarlett's mother? She seemed to be fine. Maybe she was recovering. Whatever the problem was, it wasn't Farlow's business. Instead, he preoccupied himself by stepping into the elevator that had just arrived.

Truthfully, she thought it nice that Farlow would apologize for being such a poor actor and that he would confess to something of his past. With a small smile, she turned to him. It was probably the first time she had smiled at him since she met him. "It's okay, you did what you could. Thank you." Scarlett said, looking away. She didn't like to thank people who she was annoyed with, however, when it came to her mother things were different. She would do anything for her. Which was why she needed a bodyguard in first place.

Finally, they got inside the elevator and pressed down. Now that she was done with the visit, they could get back to the house. And so, Scarlett got inside the car with Farlow and started to drive. "I think you'll like the library. It's pretty big." Scarlett said in a neutral tone. She wasn't as annoyed right now, but she still didn't feel like being overly friendly with this man.

Farlow's eyes seemed to light up slightly at the mention of the library. He had always been interested in books. It had been his mother who really started his strange obsession though. She had taken him to an antiques shop one day, where they had found several old books. Old, rare books. Farlow hadn't really understood the concept of money when he was five, and had desired to take home all the rare books that were there in the shop. It was his mother's fault really. She was the one who had explained to him what "rare" meant. In a poorly worded way. "

Something extremely uncommon. People like to buy rare things before other people."

That was his mother's definition. It was a fairly good one, given that she had been explaining it to a five year old, Farlow thought, but she could have done it much better. Nonetheless, Theo had gone home with five
rare books on topics he wasn't even interested in and asked his mother to read them to him. That was how it started.

'Oh, are we heading there now?' Farlow asked, curious. 'I'm not bothered. I just thought you'd rather go home or something of the sort.'

Scarlett shook her head at his comment. "I mean, the library inside the house. Mother likes to read so we put the biggest library in the main home." She said, thinking of the times her mother had been well enough to actually leave the hospital. It had happened a couple of times though, when she would feel bad in the middle of the night. Which was why the main house had been built. It was quite close to her mother's hospital. And so, within minutes, Scarlett pulled into the driveway. She then got out and started heading inside the house. She guessed Farlow would follow her.

"I'll show you the library but I have to go unpack. I'm guessing if we're in the same house, you won't have to come with me, right?" Scarlett said, hoping he would stay in the library while she unpacked everything. After all, she wasn't sure if she was okay with a guy coming into her room.

'Oh, right, yes,' Farlow mumbled, a red haze spreading across his face. 'Of course, right,' he added, rubbing the back of his head, embarrassed at his stupidity. He really should have been able to work that out, but he simply hadn't thought of that. Which was really rather embarrassing, given the fact that he was in the same vehicle as a chemist. Farlow really needed to do something more with his life rather than being a librarian with telekinesis.

'I won't, no,' Farlow agreed, thoroughly relieved he wouldn't have to go everywhere with Sophie. Well, he did, but just not in the same house. Which would be a rather nice change for him when they were actually at her home. 'I do believe I have to follow you around when we are in other buildings and such, but no, not in your own home.'

Truthfully, Scareltt found his slight blush kind of cute. As it was, although she hated to admit it, the man was handsome. And so, Scareltt quickly got off the car and started to enter the home (http://wananjx.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/architecture-glamorous-glowing-big-house-with-glasses-wall-and-woo-covered-glowing-flat-roof-houses-design-in-a-greeny-area.jpg). It was obvious her father liked the modern style. And so did Scarlett. Although the house had glass walls, they were strong and durable. The glass could also darkened as to avoid seeing the interior of the house. The furniture and internal design was much like the outside. Modern and sophisticated. There was even an elevator to teh second floor. It was mostly for Scarlett's mother though. In case she wasn't feeling well enough to walk up the stairs.

And so, Scarlett walked in and turned to the left. After a couple of minutes of going through hallways, she came to a pretty big door. Once she opened it, the magnificent library (http://jetsetta.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/modern-libraries.jpg) was revealed. Oh, how Scareltt loved this place. However, she had to go unpack now. "Here it is. I'll probably be back in a little. Enjoy yourself." The woman said, smiled slightly, and then left the library.
