For Kaz

(it's all cool!)

She set down her needlework and stood up, leaning halfway out the window. She sighed, leaving the window and returning into her room, sitting herself on her bed. "Who was he?" Naida whispered to herself, glancing at her needlework, which was sloppy because she had been distracted.

Nighttime was the perfect weather for him; less people, less guards, less worry. He continued past the marketplace, seeing more posters with his face on it.

He ran up into one of the abandoned buildings that overlooked where he needed to go. Memories of past marks and the routine pick-pockets made him smile a bit. When he got to the roof, Candless was thrown off a bit at how close the building actually was to the Palace.

Silently, he scaled the side of the roof, getting to the top and just barely being able to see someone sitting outside, the wind making it hard to keep his balance.

Naida went back to the window when she heard something on the roof, looking around. "Perhaps it was nothing." She said, and returned to her bed. She lifted a nightgown from under her pillow and removed her day clothes, slipping into the silky gown with easy.

He nearly fell off, seeing the stone outcropping as his only hope, he jumped and grabbed on, pulling himself up and exhaling rapidly; thankful for being alive.

What he saw next made him blush a bit, as he tried to turn around to preserve some dignity he had left.

She gasped and turned when Candless fell into her room, pulling a blanket around her to cover herself. "It's you." She said softy, pulling the blanket tighter around her. There was a blush dusting over her cheekbones, making her green eyes stand out. "I never did get your name."

He blushed too, keeping his hands in his pockets, "It's not important. I just came to ask you something." He said, looking out towards the window.

"Why are the guards looking for me?" He finally said, sighing and producing the coin from his pocket. "I'm sorry if I offended you."

"Hm? Oh no, they aren't looking for you because you offended me, they're looking for you because I wanted to see you again." She said, smiling. "But...If it bothers you, I can call them off." The smile drifted off her face, and she looked away. "I'm Naida, by the way. Thank you for helping me early."

He nodded slowly, expecting any answer but the one she gave. "Wait, what? You...want to seem me again?" He paused, not sure how to take the information.

"I...I'm Candless, nice to meet ya' Nadia." He spoke slowly, shrugging as he continued, "It's fine, I just saw someone who needed help."

"Of course I wanted to see you again. At least to thank you, and maybe converse with you. I do not get many visitors as you may have observed." She said, sitting in the chair by the window where she had been doing her needlework, motioning for Candless to take the one on the other side of the small table.

A bit unsure of the situation he now found himself in, Candless shot her an odd look, before walking over towards the side she was pointing to. "

"So, why exactly are you so interesting in me? Do you can buy me like a piece of property?" Suddenly, his mood shifted and he glared towards her with a poisonous gaze.

Nadia got this really depressed look on her face, as if she was going to cry. "I'm sorry. I...I've never talked to anyone my age before, I don't know how to." She started sobbing, burying her face in her hands. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
