Appearance:
Danni is an unassuming young woman, standing at just 5'6", and weighing 128lbs. Thick locks of dark chocolate hair tumble to her shoulders in a thick mop of staight, yet tangle-ridden hair. Her skin is pale. Like, "let me show you my latest minecraft project" pale, with smatterings of tiny freckles accenting her features. The little brown dots trail down her whole body, and deepen in colour with exposure to the sun. She likes to joke that she stores her power in her freckles. This is not the case. She's slender through her shoulders, with a long torso and wide hips, boasting modest proportions all around. Large, forest green eyes wreathed in thick lashes peer cautiously from behind a thoughtful, delicate brow, and her features all share a certain strength. Her large, supple red lips are her most expressive feature, whether drawn into a thin, worried line, or curled into a proud grin. Sometimes, when she isn't in her armour, you can catch a glimpse of her scars, two round scars, one on the front of her hip, the other on the front, and back, of her upper arm.


Hero Outfit:
A high collar, sleeveless bodysuit that fits skin-tight. On close inspection, the suit looks like a wet suit made of small, shiny black scales. Even Danni doesn't know what exactly the material is made of, but it's strong enough to stop knives and small-arms-fire ... of course, it won't stop the bruise. The garment appears to be a single piece of material, and is uniformly black save for the chrome, eight point star design on her chest. For added foot protection, she sports a pair of ankle-high, black combat boots, and for warmth/pockets, Danni also wears a short, black leather bomber jacket, with the same star design on the back.


Background:

Growing up, Danni never wondered why her family was so large, never thought it was strange that very few of them looked anything like her, or even that sometimes one would leave, and another would arrive. It was in early grade school, when she asked her parents for help with her family tree assignment, that they finally sat her down and explained. She didn't take it very well. She was hurt, confused, she didn't understand how the people who were supposed to love her had abandoned her.

She was in bed for a week, would speak to anyone for months. Even though the other kids knew exactly how she felt, she singled herself out, put her walls up. She was resentful, hurt, angry. Things got worse as she grew into a teenager. In late middle school she started smoking, started befriending her more shit-headed schoolmates. In high school it was late nights, parties, drugs, older guys, seemingly anything to test her foster parents' patience. It all came to a head one night when she was sixteen.

She'd come home late again, exhausted, partied out, still rolling on something or other. Her foster parents were waiting. They sat her down in the kitchen, set papers down on the table. It was emancipation paperwork. They were at the end of their rope, and normally they would transfer a child this problematic out, but no one would take on a sixteen year old. This way she would be treated as an adult, at least. She sobered up right away. Losing her second family was a sobering prospect, especially with no one to blame but herself.

Danni begged for another chance, but they said that they had given her many chances, and that she just wasn't happy here. They had discussed it many times in private, each playing saviour in turn, until finally neither of them could say it was best for Danni to stay. She signed the documents in tears and ran upstairs to sob quietly into her pillow. She woke to the sound of screaming, the sound of broken beams creaking. Her eldest brother was huddled in the doorway, looking at her with horror in his eyes. Then she noticed the room, or what was left of it, the majority of the walls broken out.

The fire department showed up a little while later after neighbours called about the strange lights. They took her aside, wrapped her in a blanket. The rest of the family just stared at her in judgemental silent. Now she definitely wasn't worth the trouble. While the family was discussing the state of the house with the fire marshal, and arranging somewhere safe to stay, Danni slipped back into the house, back up to her room. She gathered those few dear possessions she could find, then snuck down to her father's office. Her emancipation papers were on his desk ... it seemed only right, at this point, to free the family from it's shackle to her. He kept a drawer, a locked drawer, with the adoption files of all the kids. She managed to pry it open and quickly found her name, stuffing the whole folder into her backpack before leaving her childhood home ... this was the last time she would see it.

Danni walked for a long time, walked until she found a McDonalds. She slipped inside and bought a cheap burger, eating half before turning her attention to the folder she'd stolen. Her hands were shaking as she clutched at it. She peeled the cover open and peered at the pages inside, and her heart sank. Her father's name was Scorch ... it wasn't a nickname, it wasn't an alias, it was his actual name. He was an alien from another planet, one soldier in an army of evil entities that came through a rift in space to conquer the planet a few years ago. The heroes of Earth closed the rift, but a number of their ranks were trapped on Earth. Most of them became active members in criminal organiations around the country until heroes caught up with them.

Scorch, it seemed, was no different. His rap sheet showed a long list of violent crimes, financial crimes, fraud, extortion, rape. Her mother's file started a few pages later, and lasted only a few pages. Most of the information was blacked out, leaving only a date of birth, and details about the attack that lead to ... well ... Danni. She shuddered as she read the description of the attack, stopping half way through as the half-burger she'd eaten climbed back up her throat.

So ... she finally had her answer. The family she'd felt so abandoned by were an alien supervillain and one of his many victims. She might have run back to her family in tears if it would have made a difference, but she'd demolished that bridge. She stayed with friends for a few days before deciding it was best to leave town. She moved to November ... it seemed fitting. A fledgeling city that failed to launch sounded right up her alley. She got a small living allowance from the state, along with a small, subsidized apartment in Franklin. She could go back to school if she wanted to, but for the first few weeks she just layed in bed, dragged herself outside when hunger kept her from sleeping.

On night she woke up to a crashing sound. Someone had kicked in her door. Terrified, she stood up and moved to her bedroom door. She could hear someone out in the "den." They were swearing, confused ... Danni didn't really own anything, and it wasn't like the whole building was subsidized, just her. Heavy footsteps approached the door, Danni froze ... she didn't have a closet, her mattress was on the floor, there was nowhere to hide. A solid kick opened the door, earning a little yelp from the frightened girl. There was a gun barrel in her face as she cowered there in the middle of the room in her underwear. She heard a lecherous chuckle escape the man before her reflexes kicked in.

A spray of bright, multicolour, kinetic energy struck him in the chest, knocking him back into the hallway and onto the floor. He was out cold. Another pair of feet came dashing over, a gun barrel appearing as a voice called out. Another bolt of energy struck the other man as he came around the corner into the room. He flew backward into the front room, similarly afflicted with unconsciousness. She almost couldn't believe it ... each man was twice her size, and there they were, laid the fuck out.

It was the first time since she left home, maybe even before that, since she felt like she had any power ... any ability to affect her own life. She registered for school the next day, started saving anything she could from her monthly payouts, and began practicing with her powers by night. She found out she could fly, and rather quickly, and could fire bolts of some kind of rainbow-sparkle energy from her hands, even make simple shapes out of it, but she also discovered that her powers had limits. The more she exerted herself, the quicker she fizzled out, and it seemed like sunlight was what recharged her, particularly UV light.

It was a few months after her seventeenth birthday when she went out the first time. She had just reached a thousand dollars in her "hero fund," it was time. She bough a simple balaclava and went out late looking for trouble. Living in Franklin, she didn't have to go far to find it. Pulling her hood up over her face, she followed the sounds of shouting and gunfire. That first night out taught her a few things, a few important things: First, a mobile target is much harder to hit than a stationary one, second, firing at someone while moving is a whole new deal, and lastly, being shot really, really hurts, being shot twice all the more so.

She spent a month in hospital, tubes running in and out of her. She was still a minor, so the state covered the cost of the operation. She came out with her eyes open, she needed to train more, needed to equip herself. Thanks to some shady forums, she found someone who would make her tailored armour. A full suit was out of her price range, but she could purchase a "vital protection" suit. It took a few months to arrive, months she used to train, to gather the things she needed for her next night out.

The armour has just arrived ... and it's time for her second night out.

Powers/Skills:
Solar Powered: Danni's cells convert and store the energy from sunlight, particularly ultraviolet light, and allow her to channel the energy into a number of effects that tax her to varying degrees. Once her energy is fully depleted, she is unable to use even her most basic abilities. In practice, this means Danni has a solar point pool that powers draw on. Costs are listed per post. This is not something I expect everyone to do, this is just how I plan on applying a limit to my character. Once the pool is empty, she's just a normal young woman in a bulletproof onesie.
Kinetic Flight: She has the ability to fly at high speeds. This is her least taxing power. (1)
Kinetic Blasts: Danni can fire concussive blasts of pure energy from her hands. These blasts are about fist-sized, and travel as a beam. (2)
Kinetic Constucts: She is able to form simple shapes out of kinetic energy, like domes, planes, cubes, spheres, etc. The objects must remain in contact with her. (3)
Discharge: Danni is able to expend extra energy to exceed the normal limits of her powers, but doing so is extremely taxing. (X3)

    appearance // Adrian is a small, slim individual, barely 160cm (5'3) in height; with long, awkwardly lanky limbs. Due to her need for strength and mobility in costume, she excercises regularly, and very little extra weight, but nor does she gain muscles easily. Based on appearance, she may as well be a teen barely through puberty, with no height or body to speak of.

    She possesses shoulder-length blond hair, usually done messily up in a bun. Her eyes are light brown, and her face seems always locked in a perpertual smirk. Her years on the streets have left more than a few marks, light markings from past wounds and bruises along her arms, which doesn't particular make her stand out from the riff-raff of the city.

    She prefers to wear dull colored clothes, often with long sleeves. Her sense of fashion is rather odd wehn compared to her boisterous personality when with friends. She tends not to be noticed unless she deliberately draws attention to herself, however, though it is more due to her habit of staying discreet rather than shyness. With her bland sense of fashion, she tends to blend in and be just another face in the crowd.

    equipment/costume // As Chameleon, Adrian wears a skintight dark blueish (#4C4554) suit, with sleeves that cuts of hat her elbows and knees. Her chest, abdomen and major joins are covered with light armour padding so she won't collapse if she takes a few hits in vulnerable regions, but not so much that movement is uncomfortable. She wears boots, but they are easily removed if she needs extra adhesion to a surface. She wears a black domino mask, to add to her style more than to truly hide who she is. She keeps her hairtied back in a bun, with a detachable ponytail just in case anyone attempts to slow her down by grabbing her hair.

    She keeps pockets beneath major armour parts, containing little things that wouln't impede her movement too much, such as lock picks, bandages, a length of rope. A belt pouch is incorporated into her outfit, and contains a bottle of pepper spray, a pocket knife and an extendable baton. She keeps a taser stick on hand as well, but generally does not use lethal or bladed weapons.

Hayate stands at 5'11", weighing in at around 170 lbs. He is built well from years of physical activity, both training while in the armed forces and the field work done both during and after his time in uniform. Despite not having discipline in the kitchen, nor spending large amounts of time training, he maintains his weight due to his tremendous accelerated metabolism and maintains his strength and endurance through a consistent workout regiment of laying a smack down on people. His body is pitted from place to place with ugly scarring from numerous wounds gathered over the years. The most noticeable are on his torso, one a burn mark running from his left pectoral to the base of his ribcage, and across his chest run a series of circular scars from a pump action Winchester that dug a half inch too far through his Kevlar. His face too, is marred to some degree by a series of small, barely noticeable scars scattered across his right cheek, a souvenir of Eastern Europe. He keeps a trimmed beard and moustache. His clothing is colored darkly and is often paramilitary in nature, befitting his grim, cynical, violent and cold disposition.

When on mission, Hayate wears a set of carbon fiber and Kevlar armor designed not to completely prevent damage, but to minimize impact when hit with a strike or a projectile. His armor is thin and light as his power revolves around speed. Due to the fact that speed and movement ability is at the core of Hayates power, mobility needs to be near max level, because of this the joints of his armor are clear of all impingement, giving him true freedom of movement at the cost of exposing his joints to damage. Although his joints are exposed, there's a thin layer of reinforced weave across all parts of his body, including joints, giving him some (a small amount) of protection in these areas.

His mask has a basic filtration system designed to keep dust and other particles from cutting into his respiratory system. When using his power without the mask, Hayate can do serious damage to his face and his esophagus/lungs. Airborne clutter hitting your skin at 15 mph is no big deal, but at the speeds that Hayate is moving he can do some superficial damage to his face (lots of bleeding but no real damage) and some very serious damage to his respiratory system. His helmet also houses a few gadgets such as night vision, thermal vision and a few useful features such as moisture/temperature control.

His weaponry consists of light firearms and blades, designed to make precision strikes after his speed closes gaps. He generally carries two handguns (one automatic and one semi-automatic), a few grenades/expolosive devices, a couple knives and a long blade.

Background: Born poor as one could be to a family of deadbeats and degenerates, Hayate quickly learned how to fight, steal, lie and prioritize himself over other people. He was no innocent child led astray, not a person with a heart of gold, not an anti hero, just a self centered, selfish grinder with a passion for money even if it came at the expense of other people. From five to sixteen, Hayate lived as he pleased, took what he pleased, lied, played hookie, flipped off teachers and dreamed of making it big running drugs. He was a detriment to society, especially because he was so damn good at not getting caught.

As the years passed, Hayate graduated from petty crimes to those of a much larger scope. From shoplifting to stickups, from selling broken stereos to selling bags of crack, from intimidating rivals to beating them senseless, from beating them senseless to leaving them in shallow graves. With every year the stakes grew higher and the rewards got bigger and despite the inevitability of his fall, he never once considered quitting and finding a legitimate path. This is who he was and he cared little for the opinions of society and he was driven to gain as much power and wealth as possible, even if it meant risking his life and his freedom.

However, like Icarus, reaching for the sun, Hayate made the most human of all mistakes, reaching beyond the scope of his grasp.

He had taken the wrong turf, he had angered the wrong people, and the vengeance that came was swift. His gang was quickly crippled in an attack on their hangout. Knowing that fighting was useless, he took a back door exit and ran from the scene as fast as he could, leaving his petty kingdom behind.

Something was strange though, the sound of gunfire had faded faster than expected, the screams of the wounded and dying had ceased far too fast as well. Confused, Hayate turned to look back at his concrete palace, only then realizing that he had travelled hundreds of feet in but a few moments.

With the realization that he had unlocked an incredible power, Hayate turned from his kingdom again, and ran, knowing that his life was over in the city, knowing that a price would be placed on his head, that his only option was exile. As the sun rose the following morning, Hayate found himself across the country in a new city, as a new man. For a time he lay low, working a legitimate job, allowing heat to die down.

Just days after finding employment a man walked into Hayates workplace, a recruiter for Center-K a Private Military Company that paid extremely well for those with extraordinary powers. Despite the secrecy of Hayates power, the recruiter knew about his ability and offered him the opportunity to master his gift, to train with the best, to travel the world for the government and to make a brinks truck of money doing it. Hayate didn't have to think long before dropping the mop, and picking up the gun.

Although legitimate on paper, while working as a contractor Hayate would travel the world, killing indiscriminately for a paycheck. Taking out the dirty laundry of the CIA , running black operations that never formally happened, killing was his currency. After a long career of clandestine operations, with dozens of close calls and hundreds of confirmed kills, Hayate became a reserve member of Center-K and returned to November City. Perhaps he is here on business, perhaps it's personal to avenge the deaths of his old gang, or perhaps he just wants to retire after two decades of violence, whatever his reason for returning is, and for better or likely for worse, his nature won't let him stay out of the conflict that grips November City.

Powers/Skills: Super speed, and enhanced reflexes to match his speed, although his reaction time often lags behind his physical speed. Because his mind has trouble keeping up with his body, he relies on stimulants such as Cocaine/Adderall to close the gap between his really fast reflexes and his even faster movement speed.

His top speed is sub sonic, he is unable to dodge lightning time attacks or attacks at Mach 1 or greater. He is much faster than the average human and can hit triple digit mph with ease but he is certainly below sonic level. He dodges through the use of constant movement to make tracking and leading attacks difficult, not through body flickers or teleport level speed hacks. Perpetual movement and being elusive is how he is so effective, not anime speed teleporting.


Also, time does not slow down for him when he is moving at high speed.

Aden Lloyd - "Resonate"

Notable Markings: There is an old, yet apparent scar across his left eye, running from beneath his eyebrow until just before his cheekbone.
Appearance: Aden stands relatively short, and also lacks in mass. He is agile to an extent, but regardless is still human. Athletic where it counts, and healthy, but he treads the line. However, despite his stature, he is not boyish. He appears weathered, maybe due to the perpetual lack of sleep, or the fact that he can never get some peace and quiet. His hair is long, for a guy anyway, falling over the tops of his ears. Typically found in dark attire, he is often found in thin jackets and hoodies. Most often, he is found with some sort of noise suppression around his ears, in order to make his life better. He can easily go without, however. Wears glasses, which are made of a thin black metal.

Hero Outfit: While not always worn, he does have preferred clothing for his "Adventures". Consisting of sleek, black pants and a long sleeved shirt of the same color. A light, battered jacket typically adorns his shoulders, in order to keep his figure discreet and his weapon hidden.

Background: Born into Melrose, Aden's life was an obstacle course from the start. He never had a father, thanks to the irrational thinking of a patrol officer at ten at night. His mother was close to him once, before the problems with his head began to slowly multiply. What was thought to be a concussion was proclaimed as a series of headaches, however none of them explained the intense pain in his ears.

When the doctors visits and screaming became too much to bear, his mother dumped him into the middle of Franklin at age eleven, alone and afraid. Franklin is where he grew to be who he is now. Raised in towers and slums that creaked under the weight of themselves, the first few years of his newly found life were hard. Between violence, medical, and debt, he might as well have been homeless. He persevered however, and despite a fight which left him temporarily blind, he eventually worked enough to afford his own place in Melrose once more, at the age of nineteen.

The pain had stopped once he turned fourteen, and he had understood why as soon as someone came walking down the street, which turned out to be someone running nearly a quarter of a mile away. He had developed a extremely acute sense of hearing, one akin to that of a bat's echolocation, mixed with the clarity of an eagles vision. Not only could he hear out to insane distances, but he could predict where a person stood simply by the sound of their breath if he was close enough. He grew accustomed to it, both hating and craving its potential.

While Aden has never been a hero figure, or anything near that sort, he does believe he can put his ability to good use. Between the large-framed suppressed .45 he carries on his hip, and his inhuman characteristic, he wanted to do what he could to help those who need it most. Or those who can pay a pretty penny.

Powers/Skills: Aden has incredible hearing capabilities. He can pick up sounds from incredibly far away, depending on variables of course. Up close, in the relative quietness, he can determine where you stand by the noises any human makes. However, he is especially prone to loud environments and overwhelming noises, such as loud crowds and gunshots, though he is more used to the latter. There is no magic "Shut Off" for his hearing, it is ever apparent. It can and will cause loss of sleep, as any sounds even remotely near will sound as if it is directly within his ear. While a pro and a con, he is hard to sneak up on, and easy to loose.

MEMORANDUM FOR MR. TOLSON

Commander H. R. Haldeman, leader of Blue group, called. He said that Blue group has succeeded in capturing and retrieving the asset, with no loss to human life or damage to property. He also said that a full report would be on its way, and I told him that I would send it to you as soon as it was available. He told me to tell you that capturing one particularly aggressive whale, out of a pod made up of other slightly less so, but still aggressive whales, is “one hell of a task”, and that if it weren’t for Natasha’s intel, they would’ve never caught him. I thanked him for his work, and sent him the second half of the payment, at which he cashed at 6:42 AM.

I called Natasha, and told her that much thanks was due from Mr. Tolson himself for the intel she provided. She responded that it was a pleasure for her to get rid of the only thing feeding “those poor little hardy bastards by the sea.” She also asked for permission to begin expelling those aforementioned “little hardy bastards”, in preparation for another safehouse to be built. I told her I would send her a response from you as soon as possible. I forwarded her the full payment, and as of now, she hasn’t cashed it yet.

A call was received from a citizen who lived at a village outside of November city, presumably the aforementioned village. He was extraordinarily angry at the capture of the asset, and promised to expose us to the proper authorities as his revenge. He seemed to think the asset was a deity of some sort, and claimed that the asset was the only thing keeping their entire village alive, with gifts of fish and other seafood. MEMORANDUM FOR MR. TOLSON
Dr. Bishop called to update you on progress with the asset. He jokingly claimed that he'd made no progress with the asset at all, only to reveal that it was because the asset has been cooperative from the start. The asset revealed that his abnormality is because his mother shared the same trait, but he believes it's not as pronounced in him because his father had no such abnormalities. The asset refused to refer to it as a "gift" and instead referred to it as a "trait." When asked to demonstrate this trait, the asset, after "around a minute and a half of deep concentration", successfully assumed the form of a small Grauer's gorilla. After "around the same time and the same level of concentration", the asset successfully assumed his own form again. The same was asked, although this time to assume the form of a tiger. The asset refused, claiming he needed to be able to see one, and that gorillas, cockroaches and killer whales are pretty much the only forms he could do off the top of his head. Dr. Bishop believes this claim. He then asked to see the cockroach form, and after "10 to 15 seconds", the asset had assumed the cockroach form. Dr. Bishop admitted that he felt momentarily panicked, as he had left the door open and the asset could have escaped, but the asset simply assumed his own form again after a few seconds. Dr. Bishop believes the asset to be mentally healthy, although seemingly slightly aloof.

Commander H. R. Haldeman called to provide a progress report on the asset. He is pleased to report that the field test went perfectly yesterday, and that there was no need for Blue group to interfere. They "simply watched as that big ape walked into bank, the thugs behind him, and then walked out half an hour later with bags of loot." They followed the asset and his group to a nearby spot in the Midtown district and dropped the bags, and the gorilla "seemingly disappeared", although they found a coincidentally intelligent cockroach a few minutes later, and brought it back to the safehouse. Haldeman recommends that the asset be prepared for immediate field work, and assigned to Blue group, although he did note that the asset seemed unwilling to harm any innocents. Haldeman believes that this can be conditioned out of him with proper training.

Dr. Bishop called, and told me it was urgent to inform you about an update on the asset's condition. He claimed that in a routine mental health checkup on the asset, the asset revealed that "he didn't really want to be there. He just wanted to be free again." It was at this point that Dr. Bishop became suspicious, and started questioning these thoughts. The asset reportedly caught on, and replied that escape wasn't part of his plan, but he "simply didn't want to be doing this anymore after accidentally knocking a man unconscious on the last job." Dr. Bishop urgently recommends that the asset be recalled from any field work, and is watched by Dr. Bishop himself, in case of any further dangerous tendencies.

Appearance: Charlotte's a small woman with a large presence, seemingly in her late twenties or early thirties. Her red hair is wavy, curling at the end, and she wears it up for business and wears it down for 'night work'. Charlotte's skin has the kind of pallor that comes from both a northern European heritage and a great deal of time spent indoors. That said, her complexion is nigh flawless even without makeup and most men would say she'd be gorgeous if she just smiled more. Her day wear tends towards black professional clothing, typically suit jackets and skirts.

Hero Outfit: At night, she favors a trim black leather coat and black denim jeans. Charlotte doesn't bother with a mask, for reasons mostly obvious only to her and those who know what she can do.

Background:
Born in Brighton, England in 1915, Charlotte grew up a Baron's daughter, knowing privilege and expectation. It was a grave disappointment to her parents when she fell in love with and married Lieutenant Harry Grant in 1936. When the next Great War broke out, she did her duty and followed her husband into service, enlisting in the nursing corp.

As the war raged on, Charlotte began to realize how little she was like other women when she never grew tired and was able to carry wounded men by herself. When she realized she could pass without notice, she began a regular practice of rescuing the wounded from the hottest battlefield conditions, trusting that no one would target her. An accidental encounter with a stray bullet nearly killed her and she passed out, only to wake at sunset completely healthy once more. That's when she realized she wasn't like anyone she'd ever heard of before.

By 1940, news trickled out that there were a few select individuals with exceptional abilities serving in the war effort. When Charlotte cautiously revealed her own talents, she was solicited to join MI6 and serve in joint Allied superpowered engagements. She learned Russian and German, as well as basic espionage techniques. Operating under the code name 'Selene', Charlotte's ability to to walk in and out of classified areas to gather intelligence became critical to the war effort.

The war came to an end at last, and finally she and her beloved Harry were able to have the children she always wanted. Charlotte ended up raising two daughters and a son, content to be a wife and mother in retirement, her abilities and war heroism fading from all recollection. As the years stretched on, though, they grew more difficult. For Charlotte realized as her children became adults and her beloved Harry grew to retirement age, she wasn't aging whatsoever.

When her husband Harry passed away from a heart attack in 1978, Charlotte accepted an invitation by an American hero she'd worked with to move to the United States and start over. After several years of idleness, she took up crime fighting in the New York of the 1980s with a new generation of heroes, particularly in response to the crack epidemic. Charlotte fought to bring down drug dealers and helped others take down the super powered villains behind them. Yet after eight years, urban areas remained devastated, she'd seen a number of heroes she partnered with perish fighting evil, and by 1990 she walked away from the vigilante life.

Only recently has Charlotte reemerged on the scene. She'd spent the 1990s working in business, investing with some of the money she'd inherited from her parents decades ago, and for a time she'd done quite well. Charlotte's greatest hope and effort was in November City, though. She sank quite a bit of her personal fortune into the project throughout the 1990s, seeing it as a way of helping the people she'd failed to save in the 1980s. And she spent the entirety of the aughts doing all she could to make it successful.

In this, she failed.

Now the city she'd spent twenty years helping to build was being overtaken by a rapid inflation of crime and injustice. Charlotte's passion during the day remained investing in social and economic capital...but by night, once more Selene has taken to the streets. There's a new generation of heroes, reminding her she's not alone. Perhaps this time, they might actually win...

Powers:
Nigh-Perfect: Charlotte enjoys nearly perfect health and vitality. She can labor for a day without tiring and can shrug off a week of no sleep with little effort. Physically, she's as strong as a strong man, fast as an athlete without exercising, and doesn't feel mundane pain or bruise. Charlotte's not bullet proof (or even knife proof) but if she chooses to sleep, she unfailingly slumbers in a coma until the next sunset at which point she wakens restored. Conveniently, she hasn't gained a pound since she was eighteen.
Immortal?: As near as she can tell, Charlotte stopped aging around the beginning of World War II. She's a century old now but looks to be perhaps a decade older for it. Even she doesn't know how long she'll actually live (or why).
Anonymous: When she concentrates, Charlotte becomes very difficult to notice or remember. People unconsciously avoid her on the street, cashiers ignore her if she rifles through their tills and a home owner doesn't bat an eye if she stops by and claims their bed for the night. Watchful, attentive people and positions (like guards, police, detectives and the like) as well as unusual situations (like approaching a guarded vault or approaching the President) are more likely to notice her. She can consciously strengthen the effect if she makes eye contact with someone and offers a (im)plausible explanation for being there but it's not a foolproof power so she rarely employs it in risky situations unless absolutely necessary.

Skills:
Business: She's never been to school for it but Charlotte was raised with money and has spent the last twenty years learning the ins and outs of wise investing. She's somewhat poorer for it but knows a great deal now about investment strategy, managing employees, dealing with permits and taxes and so on.
Medicine: Charlotte was a very good nurse...seventy years ago. She can take vitals, staunch wounds, inject syringes and so on with a practiced hand though she's completely at a loss of what modern medical equipment does.
Espionage: Having worked for MI6 during the Second World War, Charlotte's a practiced eavesdropper, sneak and linguist (she speaks German, Italian and Russian). She was also quite a good lockpick but, again, seventy years have resulted in very few locks still vulnerable to her training. As with medicine, her basic skillset is quite good but virtually every modern tool currently used by covert forces is completely foreign to her.
Combat Training: Charlotte's had some formal hand-to-hand training, mostly consisting of how to break holds and evade blows. Years of experience have taught her to fight dirty and do it well, and her natural strength and agility make her more than a match for a thug or three. She's also a good shot, particularly with her favorite Webley Revolver she still carries.

  • "Killing . . . Of all things, I can't kill.": personality
    Trevon is a highly intelligent boy, who rarely smiles or laughs, and recognizes and detests the absurdities (both obvious and perceived) of the society in which he lives. Tending to be obstinate in both manner and speech, Trevon has demonstrated a depth of understanding that would seem to surpass his young age, such as being able to understand the history of the world as a child. Trevon has an amazing fighting style seen through his fights with his enemies and other people throughout his life. Oratorically gifted, Trevon has shown the ability to seize and hold the attention of entire crowds of people when he wants to do so. He uses this gift during individual interactions as well, during which he can gain a desired effect depending on his intention. Shown to be a highly skilled martial artist, Trevon oftentimes demonstrates on various occasions an ability with bo staff, stick fighting, sword fighting, as well as hand to hand combat that far surpasses the expected capabilities of a 16 year old. As well as extended ranged knowledge over the use of Guns, but he rarely uses guns. He's extremely pessimistic, and finds it hard to look on the bright side of things, and holds inside of him an intense rage and burning flame. His rage is held for those who commit evil, and anyone associated with them. Such as shown when he confronted the men that killed his family, and beat them to a bloody pulp, but he still can hold his sanity and control in dire situations such as this one. Shown when, instead of killing his enemies, he called the police, and let them pick up the members of the crime gang.

    Trevon is a very eye for an eye kind of person, and isn't afraid to get dirty. Though he's against killing, and too many strange and unusual punishment, he isn't a pacifist. No, he will cut off your arm if needs be, stab you, shoot you in the leg, etc. etc. He knows that the world is dark, and while being a light to that dark saves him from succumbing to the void, if he doesn't utilize the darkness itself, control it, it'll completely devour him. He's willing to go to very dark and tasking lengths to stop those who need to be stopped, and if it gets that far, sometimes even torture. But with all of that, due whatever it is, he still has an intention to somehow keep his sanity, to be humane. No matter what he loses, no matter what he goes through, he will always have the intention of keeping his will strong, holding his morality close to his heart, and keeping his humanity. Though Trevon is dark and an introvert, with that he is still a kid, in most peoples eyes at least. This is shown greatly in his strange fondness for animals such as dogs and cats, as well as webtoons and technology. He is at a loss for who he is, and who he should be, constantly doubting himself on if he did the right thing, if he's living by what his parents would have wanted. He worries that his parents, if they could see him from beyond the grave, find his antics in fighting villains idiotic and wasteful, not to mention mindless and horrific. Is he really doing the right thing to avenge his family?

At a glance, Samuel's appearance would never give the impression that his primary goal is something much greater than beating the rush hour. At 6’1”, 178 lbs, with a full beard, shaggy mid-length hair, and piercing brown eyes, he looks more like a local high-school math teacher than anything else. Considering his daily attire usually consists of long sleeve buttoned-up shirts tucked into khaki pants falling just over the top of his black loafers, people can’t be blamed for thinking that.

Hero Outfit: Samuel has no “super” clothes, he prefers to be comfortable over flashy.


Background: Born in Melrose, Samuel was taught at an early age that if he wanted to live, he’d better stay in Melrose. Sure, the area was rife with gangs, prostitutes, and other various forms of low-life, but so long as he kept his distance and ignored anything he might have overheard, he’d be just fine. He never raised his voice, never ran, never pushed back, never threw a punch. He just kept his head down.

And that’s how he lived his life for the first 23 years. Head down, shuffling feet, off to school. Off to work. Come home, sit down, turn on the TV, and sink into his happy place.

On his 24th birthday, something amazing happened. No, something miraculous. Samuel was along, on his way, through the normal morning routine. He was walking to his beloved place of work, Wal-mart. Over the last four years he’d worked his way up to assistant manager and he was in good standing to take the full position in six months’ time.

The problem with this job was its location. Right on the edge of Franklin, which meant most days were a bit too interesting for Samuel’s preference. He was actually surprised the business managed to stay afloat over the years, having expected it to close down at many points. But it kept chugging along, sucking up all the capital it could.

But again, the location was an issue, something more apparent than ever when Samuel found his path to work, which cut around to the back door of the building (crowds were never his favorite thing), was blocked by 3 men. Samuel had seen them before they him. He’d also seen them notice him, then the saw knife. The blood that wasn’t wiped off, the blood that was still drying.

If you asked him now, he’d never be able to explain exactly what happened. All Samuel knows is that one minute the lead man was telling him to fuck off, and the next his arm was pushed through a gaping hole in the man’s chest. Then he remembers the other two coming after him. He remembers them lying on the ground, one with a missing arm, and the other with no head to claim.

He doesn’t remember getting home, but that he did.

A few more years passed by and Samuel attempted to resume his quiet life, albeit while exploring his new-found abilities. Secretly, of course, everyone knew that being a superhero wannabe was death wish like no other.

As his skill and understanding of these abilities grew, he found himself dissatisfied with the life he had. The sole reason he lived as he did, was to stay afloat. To avoid getting killed. He didn’t need to do that anymore, he was strong now. Stronger than any man he’d seen on the news. He had the power to do something. Something great.

But what? Fight crime? Yes, because that was going so well for the heroes in his city. Was going so well for the men and women, the Gods up high. No, he knew where they went wrong.

They were trying to stop crime, trying to stop human nature. You just can’t do that, but you can regulate. Control, regulation, limitation, those are practically the core values of governments everywhere! They have the right strategy, but the implementation was off.

Samuel knew how to fix that. He knew exactly what needed to be done. But he couldn’t do that just yet. He needed more time to learn about the very power that gave him this opportunity, and once he felt he was ready… This city of his would change. It’d change, or he’d die trying to change it. Those were his only options now.

As they say, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

Powers:

Samuel displays one ability, which he has dubbed Molecular Manipulation. His reasoning for this is the nature of how his ability works, as opposed to the end results.

Samuel is, essentially, capable of exerting limited control on the molecules of any piece of matter that he can touch with his hands. This control appears in the following three forms:

Structural Weakening

Samuel is capable of weakening the structures of anything he touches, be it human bones, stone, or stainless steel. The amount of weakening he induced depends on his concentration and, to a certain extent, his emotional stability. The damage he is capable of can range from cracks along a wall, dislocation of a shoulder, all the way to disintegrating an entire one-story house.

The exact size and mass that an object has affects just how much he can weaken it. Meaning that a person’s arm or ribs is much easier for him to damage than an entire building is. Larger or denser objects also require more effort on his part to manipulate. Structurally weakening the foundation of a house is far more taxing than crumpling up a car door.

The most used aspect of this ability is in combat with other opponents, as human beings in general are easily broken.

It must be noted that physical exertion is not required for this ability to work, meaning that he could hypothetically break down a wooden door simply by pushing his index finger through it.

This weakening is not permanent, once Samuel ceases his manipulation of the object, it regains its natural durability, but does not restore itself.

Structural Restoration

Samuel is also capable of limited restoration of most objects that his hands touch.

This ability has far more limits than that of his more destructive power. If a building collapses, he cannot simply touch a piece of rebar that flew from the building and then watch as the building begins to reassemble itself. His touch would only restore the rebar itself, separate from the rest of the building.

The effect on humans is limited at best. He is capable of reversing superficial wounds such as cuts or bruises, but more serious injuries are outside of his grasp. He has theorized that if he could directly touch, say, a cancer ridden liver, then he could potentially restore it. However, this has never been tried.

This ability does not drain him quite as much, but still has an effect.

The restoration is permanent, but does not make the object indestructible.

Structural Hardening

Samuel is capable of giving any object an added layer of durability. He can make a plastic cup nigh indestructible, or make a man withstand enormous amounts of physical punishment without so much as a scratch. The major flaw in this ability, however, is that it is temporary. Lasting, at the most, 25-30 minutes. He can also bestow only one aspect of durability to any one object at a time.

The indestructible plastic cup is still capable of melting in flame, and the impenetrable man can still be poisoned, mentally controlled, and even still feels pain despite receiving no damage. The man also does not gain any enhanced physical abilities aside from this endurance, so he can still be restrained.

Skills:

Bilingualism

Samuel’s parents spoke German with him at home, and as such he is natively bilingual in German and English.

Fighting Technique

Samuel has yet to develop a fighting technique, since he has no almost experience with any sort of violence. It’s likely that he’ll rely on the severity of his power to get things done.

Affable Personality

Samuel is a rather affable person in general, and easily comes off as non-threatening, disarming most simply because he seems like such a normal, scared person. With a power like his, that’s something to be reckoned with.

Weaknesses and Limitations

· Samuel is not capable of manipulating his own molecules.

· Samuel can easily overexert himself and thus can only continuously use his ability

· for so long.

· Samuel can only harden matter once around every 24 hours.

· His power requires his hands to contact the object he intends to manipulate. If he can't touch you, he can't break you.

Appearance: He could be easily equated to a modern-day Viking. Standing at a whopping 6'7, he towers over most people he meets; however, what indeed makes his presence intimidating is that his frame resembles that of the most physically dense athletes with a reach of 87 inches. When he enters a room, his appearance is known, and all around him that may only be an inch smaller are dwarfed by his full stature. His core is muscular and thick with his muscles seemingly in a constant attempt to break out of his skin. The legs of this Viking seem to be tree trunks from thousand-year-old redwoods. An oily mess of thick hazel hair cascades from his head nearly halfway down his back and around his face as if the hair was poorly maintained while not being cut for decades. When he walks around on the street, he appears to be wearing a curtain on his forehead that hides his heroic yet angular facial structure beneath. He is often covered in scum that hides his piercing white skin. His face is adorned with a pair of consistently sardonic yet inquisitive bushy eyebrows, a thick unkempt beard that engulfs the lower half of his face, a thin nose that is appears perpetually broken like a boxer who has been punched one thousand times too many, a set of malevolent eyes that glares with feverish hatred in every look, and a perpetual frown that has plagued his crimson lips since he was a young child. His street clothes include sweats covered in dirt and touched with scores of holes, a military jacket covered in burn marks to where the green that once brightly pronounced himself, and steel-toed boots with worn-out soles. His civilian appearance makes him appear to be homeless to the outside world that passes him by on the street whilst also serving as an attempt to hide his identity due to his status with the authorities and fact that he fights crime without a mask

Hero Outfit: In his hero outfit, he cleans himself up, wiping away the dirt and grime from his everyday appearance. He decorates his forehead, eyes, and face with blue warpaint that portrays itself in diamond and tribal signs to match the tattoos that adorn his chest. His hair and beard are elegantly braided like an ancient warrior preparing for battle. Dozens of strands of braided hair fall down his back. Eban also exposes his chest when he wears his suit, wearing only fur and deerskin bracers upon his forearms when he fights in combat. Mainly, he only has one piece of gear upon his upper body. On his lower body, he wears cloth pants, a fur kilt, deerskin boots lined with bear fur and metal spikes, and holsters for his weapons. His gear provides no protection whatsoever and serves merely to further his identity as the modern day Viking personified by the name Valhalla. His arms include dual axes, dual daggers, and a set of small throwing spears

Background:

Eban was born in Norway to two drug addicts and criminals. They weren't big time as their crimes included robbing convenience stores, dealing meth, and smoking crack. Momma was a Londoner prostitute who merely found herself falling in love with the wrong man, and Father was a serial rapist and drug dealer whose sole purpose in life was to drag others down to hell with him. Still, his father was a charmer, and, when he dragged his prey to hell, they went willingly, assuming that they were going to heaven. Such was the case with Eban's mother who loved a man she thought to be wholesome until she had a child with him and found out that there was a demon inside. His mother did one thing right with her life though, and that was she took the beatings from Eban's father until she died of an overdose when he was four years old. The young future-warrior was neglected when his mother took the blows, but her death brought attention to Eban in the eyes of his father; however, it was for all the wrong reasons. The Viking was beaten and repeatedly molested over the course of his preteen life and early teenage years. A lightning rod for both his mental, physical, and sexual frustrations, Eban was smacked with bats, burned with glass pipes, and slashed open with leather belts. Pain was his existence, and it permeated every moment of his youth.

Still, he had two outlets through which he found himself succeeding in life: academics and boxing. To put it lightly, he was a genius as his mind was processing at speeds many could not understand. His academics spoke for themselves when he was enabled to skip multiple grades and earn a full ride to Oxford after graduating high school at 15 years old. His intellect was only to be matched by his boxing talent as he butchered everyone he touched. The sport served as his emotional outlet to release the hate that he harbored towards his father but refused to unleash due to the extensive grasp that his father had upon his psyche. He left hell at a young age without his father's knowledge though Eban was mentally fragile.

At Oxford, the young man was an outcast. He was a six-foot teenage freak unable to exist in a healthy social environment. Still, his performance academically was nothing short of masterful. Professors detailed his work, utilized him as a shining example of intellectual perfection, yet it all seemed like a game to the teen. He thought the properties expressed in his classes to be elementary and even graduated with his undergraduate degree in Chemistry as well as History at 18 years old alongside a perfect set of marks. He then transitioned to Harvard to work towards his Ph.D. in Chemistry, which he achieved at the young age of 24 years old. After attaining his Ph.D., Eban's father was murdered and, in finding out this fact, the young man thought that his father's hold upon his psyche had finally been released. During his academic career that he took it upon himself to learn combat skills. The classes he enrolled in to enhance his combat abilities ranged from kickboxing courses at the community gym to fencing classes and competitions alongside medieval combat strategy electives that he partook in for the hell of it.

Next off, Eban took a job in a tech company stationed in Downtown November City where he would be working to develop a new drug to increase athlete recovery time after crippling injuries. Without his father's shadow, he adjusted to healthy life and learned how to function, yet something dark still lurked in the back of his mind: a beast that craved to be unleashed. Shortly after his work with the company began, they were bought out by the US Government with the drug transitioning into a new stage of development with the code name VALHALLA. It was a top-secret government project that worked to create a super serum for soldiers on the battlefield to replicate the abilities of an MI6 agent during WWII. Eban found love in this new task that he considered a "holy" endeavor. For five years he worked on the drug, and, while it failed in its duty of resurrection, he had documented multiple traits that the serum could create including an increased propensity for damage absorption, superhuman abilities, and aggression. The Ph.D. holder considered all of these drugs that crafted these results failures and hid the formulas away from his employers in his notebooks. Though he found fault in the lab a constant, he found success and happiness in a friendship with two of his fellow scientists, including a man named James Howard and a female named Marilyn Dean. Happiness was not permanent for the Norwegian Scientist as he found a rude awakening on a night not too long ago.

Eban stayed late while working one night. The youthful scientist had thought all of his coworkers had already left the lab whilst he worked in peace as Eban felt he was genuinely getting close to a working serum as he had found a way to reanimate dead cells and just needed to understand how to apply this formula to a large scale situation. Eban tested for hours until it must have been three in the morning; he got no closer to a working serum. To take a break, he went to get some fresh air, but, as he entered the hallway, he heard the same chilling sound that he had heard in his youth. She screamed, not out of fear or anger but out of violation. He walked down the hallway to the female locker room where the door remained with a slight crack within it. His eyes lined up to the minor break, and he saw a horrifying sight of Marilyn being raped by James. Anger bubbled to the surface as he froze in place as if he was a child again and the violator was his father and the victim was him. Just as he couldn't bring himself to beat his father in his youth, he could not bring himself to go in there and butcher the rapist. His eyes locked with the assaulter who pushed his victim to the side and pulled the door open to beat the hell out of Eban. Eban, even though he could have quite easily beaten his coworker in combat, allowed himself to be beaten bloody. From his crippled position, he watched the rest of the rape unfold as the female victim was finished with and left soaked in maroon. On the exit, James informed Eban that if the Norwegian ever spoke of the event to anyone that he would be killed; Eban contemplated this thought for a score of minutes before he felt the beast within come to the surface.

In a fit of intense rage, Eban rushed into his lab and shuffled around, destroying the room, flipping tables, and smashing everything nearby. His bystander status to his pain and Marilyn's required blood, so Eban looked for anything he could to hurt James. The malevolently charged man went to the supply closet, stealing large sums of chemicals, drug ingredients, and anything else Eban could to craft some method to harm James. He drove to James's apartment, taking one of his failed drug combinations that was meant to enhance his physical abilities to superhuman levels; it was time that Eban let out the violence that had been brewing inside of his gut for three decades. Inside, he felt a rush of adrenaline, and it all went blank. When Eban regained control, he sat in a blood pudding. Nearby was a knife with a broken blade and a revolver with a red-hot smoking barrel. The door was closed and locked yet the window was shattered. Eban walked to the window and saw no fire escape or any mode through which he could climb up. At this moment, his memory returned, and he remembered crawling up ten stories to this apartment before smashing in the window. James mounted a defense that included a barrage of stabbings and bullets though no harm came to Eban. It was a bloody and brutal frenzy where Eban tore James's arm off before bashing in the owner's skull. He left the apartment and sat back in his car watching the sunrise. The Norwegian male looked in the back seat and realized that he had thousands of dollars worth of stolen materials and drugs within his vehicle while his seats were covered in James's blood now. He should have never felt more frightened than right then, but he had never felt so ecstatic before that moment. He looked back in his car and drove to Franklin to begin his life anew.

It was that night in which Valhalla was born. Eban craved the same rush that he had achieved when he was judge, jury, and executioner for James, yet the now-criminal had to remain low profile because he was considered both a murderer and a thief currently being hunted down by the Department Members of Project Valhalla and the US Government. He first ditched his car, stole a new one from a resident in Melrose, grew out his beard, and lived in his car for months waiting for the heat to die down. In these months, planning his move to vigilantism took place with his primary tasks revolving around stockpiling medieval weapons and clothing to pay homage to the Viking history that Eban had loved so much. He also found contact with Marilyn, who was grateful for Eban killing James, who offered to supply him with supplies if he ever ran out of chemicals. Eban now even had a supplier in place if he ever ran low. Not only that but Eban began mass producing the super drug that enabled him to possess superhuman qualities once more. He would become a butcher: a murderer of murderers. Criminals would see him and tremble in fear in the presence of Valhalla. Once the manhunt had died down and he had established himself to be part of the homeless population in Franklin, he began his new life as a vigilante. His targets were rapists and child molesters at first before he moved onto taking on entire sex trafficking circles by himself. The one-man crusade was unsuccessful, and, though Eban killed many low-level criminals, he began to realize that he could no longer do this by himself. He would need a set of partners to join him and exterminate the scourge of crime that festered within November City.

-Peak Human Condition (no serum): This power is somewhat self-explanatory. For a 6'7 man, he is exceptionally fit, capable of feats of high strength and speed; however, he has a fighter's concept of fit. While not the strongest or fastest, he has built muscles efficient for both swordsmanship and boxing. His stamina is impeccable, and he could go ten five minute rounds of non-stop boxing without tiring. It is easy to forget, but he is a trained athlete as shown in his early years as a competitive boxer in Norway. Still, don't expect him to be the world's fastest sprinter or strongest body lifter as he trained his body to fight.
-Expert Boxer: No kicks, no grappling, just punching. Eban was ranked the number one amateur heavyweight boxer in Norway and England in the years that he was active as a teenager and college boxer. He possesses one-punch knockout power, tremendous hand speed, artistic footwork, high fight-IQ when boxing or street fighting, and excellent technique that he doesn't typically break. His fight style can be exploited by a smart kick-boxer or grappler that can find holes in his game that nobody but a trained combat technician could find. With the VALHALLA serum though, his punches get only stronger, faster, and deadlier.
-Intellectual Genius: A Ph.D. from Harvard that he gained in his early twenties speaks for itself. He is a brilliant individual and an expert in both Chemistry and European History. His IQ runs at 166 making him a certified genius in every sense of the word. He has utilized this knowledge of chemistry to turn his car into a VALHALLA production facility as well as a death trap to anyone trying to rob him. Open a car door and enjoy the chemical burns dumbass.
-Proficient in Medieval Combat Strategies: This trait only counts as a skill because, as Valhalla, Eban utilizes medieval weapons to maim and kill his opponents. He is no expert, but through a combination of self-training and formal fencing classes, he has developed a multitude of strategies that make him proficient with swords and axes.
Powers (Super-Pharma):
-Project VALHALLA Serum: (The following powers are only available when the serum is active in his bloodstream. When Eban comes down from his drug-induced high, he will return to a normal human physical state that is listed in the skills section) While Eban is an average human, his consumption of the project VALHALLA serum enables him to possess a large number of superhuman traits that make him a force to be reckoned with in combat. The highs produced by the plasma differ in length based on his production quality (he does make this serum himself) with lower quality doses lasting only 15 minutes and high-quality treatments lasting up to a day at a time. The primary problem with this is that he does not possess the proper equipment to test the purity of each single dose (reminder: he makes the drug himself now in his car without any lab equipment. Well, I wouldn't call a spoon and lighter lab equipment but some might), so despite being an expert chemist, he relies on a little bit of hope that this product will be of high quality when injected. The drug is highly volatile and unpredictable especially. His powers while under the effects of the serum include:

  • Superhuman Strength: His strength enables him to crush bricks in powder through just making a fist, punch through multiple inches of steel, break a neck with only one punch, break steel bars in half, snap a human being in half with his bare hands as if he was snapping chicken bones, and lift up to two tons. Perhaps the scariest use of his strength is in tandem with his axes, swords, and spears as each swing comes mercilessly with extreme speed and strength.
  • Extraordinary Speed: While not exactly superhuman, the serum imbues Eban with the power to run at speeds equivalent to Olympic athletes. The speed at which his weapons swing also come at an increased rate though his attacks are still avoidable when one pays intense attention to his swinging patterns.
  • Superhuman Reflexes: The drug utilizes a potent stimulant that increases coordination, produces flawless skill, and results in enhanced reflexes that could produce such results as being able to dodge bullets from multiple assailants. No, his mind does not perceive events any better nor is his intellect increased by the serum. It merely enables him to function with the rest of his powers properly
  • Superhuman Stamina: He could physically exert himself to any extent and never feel exhaustion at a level of 1% while the serum is active. He is never tired and always ready to do battle.
  • Superhuman Agility: The serum alters the length, elasticity, and strength of his tendons as well as connective tissues to increase his muscles which enables him to perform flips, rolls, and jumps that would make even the most celebrated gymnast envy his abilities. For some strange reason, his enhanced agility allows him to always find a perfect state of equilibrium as well as balance no matter what the situation. Still, he hates using this in crime fighting as he is unable to set his pride aside and utilize a smarter
  • Near-Invulnerability (no healing factor): Knifes shatter against his skin. Bullets bounce off of him. Valhalla treats himself as an invulnerable Viking relying on his ability to absorb damage rather than his speed and agility that would serve him to a much greater extent. Valhalla has not yet taken a shot that has been able to pierce his hide, yet he has not taken a rocket launcher blast straight into the chest, has he?
  • Altered Physiological State: The serum affects the nervous system to the extent that Valhalla possesses limitless pain-tolerance, willpower, vitality, virility, vigor, endurance, tenacity and lung capacity. When you do break his invulnerable hide, do not expect Valhalla even to flinch while under the effects of the serum. Hell, he might even smile at you to remind you that the hurt tickles a little bit.
  • Wall Climbing: If given the slightest grip, Valhalla can climb walls with high speed like Spiderman just a lot more pissed off and aggressive.
  • Aggression: Call it roid rage? For some reason, the serum produces increased aggression and violent tendencies inside of Valhalla. Though he still has the moral compass to kill no innocents during his rage, he is difficult to converse with and control. In these moments, he is a wrecking ball ready to crush all in his path. Valhalla is the Hyde to Eban's Jekyll in this sense.

Adeline is a generally happy young woman, capable of a plethora of different emotions and constantly full of hope for her, not so, mundane world. She has her moments, wherin naivety takes over, and being an adult isnt exactly high on her list of priorities, and then she has her moments when maturity is at its peak, and life's dire inequalities are absolutely the only thing on her mind. She likes to think that she is a pretty suave individual, capable of making the opposite sex swoon for example, or persuade anyone to do her bidding, but those who know her [and really, she does too] could tell you that is no where near the case [though many may argue she does have that "look" about her; before she opens her mouth and mumbles about ducks in ponds]. Someone like Della, although she can pretty much keep herself constantly composed [and looking like she knows exactly what she is doing] is more likely to stumble in a fight in a back alley, than land a perfect punch and make off like a shadow in the night [it doesnt happen too often, but I think you get the point]. Fear not, she has her moments, most especially when her adrenaline is high and her mature self bursts forth to defend the innocent bystanders in a war of great proportions, and her vigilante pride of course [she could be guilty of so much worse]. First impressions usually go well for her, particularly in her part of town, or at her university in Downtown, where the values [regardless of corruption or her view on them] force her into a facade unlike her true, unabashed, secretive, closed off, loud, prideful self [you might even say she was too faced; anything for the community am i right?]. Those first impressions without happy endings seldom rest in Della's mind, her persona doesn't come with the bumper sticker "what did i do wrong?", people may see her as careless or stubborn to not make too much effort with the people who do not like her true self right off the bat, but she see's it as simply a means of not wasting her time, not dwelling on the past, and as an opportunity for concentration on much more important things, such as her university studies [and her vigilantism]. Della is not one to be underestimated [both mental & physically]. To be in Della Worthington's company is to be accepted, understood, humoured, curious, unashamed and safe. Her favourite word pairing is "fight me." Della is angry, she is angry at alot of things and alot of people; it takes a keen eye and knowing of her identity on the streets to see it. She's sick of games.

Standing at 5 feet and 8 inches, Della is of a relatively average height compared to other females her age [she doesnt think she'll grow any further and she's fine with that] with tight lean muscles maintained by constant training, exercise and a holistic approach to her health, a [only slightly petite] hourglass frame, and plenty to pack front and back. Her eyes have a child like widness to them. Her cheekbones and jaw have gradually defined themselves more over the years. Her teeth are straight, healthy and porcelain white [a mix of maintenance and teeth whitening a la every month....thanks mum and dad]. Her lips [usually tinted a nice deep red] are soft, plump and full. Her eyes are like deep pools [that no-one has gotten lost in yet; to her knowledge]. Her skin is a light russet tone, typically lighter during the cold months, and incredibly close to her mothers burnt tone in the warmer months. Parts of her body are speckled very lightly with freckles, namely her shoulders/collarbone, nose/cheeks, dosum, sacrus and tarsus. Her complexion is pristine [a mix of superficial parents concerned about their daughters outward appearance & Della's mental scarring and inevitable choice to maintain it] harboring no scarring, pimples or discrepancies on a daily basis [of course, like anyone anywhere some pimples do pop up, especially around that time, if you know what i mean, but she owe's their disappearances to her health and skincare]. Even when she sustains bruises [which she is forced to cover], Della's remedies always seem to do the trick [her worst bruise so far took refuge on the right side of her jaw, her then roommate was suspicious of Della's prolonged time in the bathroom for two whole weeks]. When it comes to posture Della holds herself well, and keeps a professional stature. Her naturally curly hair [especially on the ends] is usually worn lose, with simple styling and maybe a pin or two [or ten] to keep her hair back while she is studying or in a class. When Della talks, her words are accented by her mother, and the people of Central America. She almost sounds foreign.

On the streets, Adeline Worthington becomes 'Cosmica', a [so far] obviously young woman, capable of transforming herself in favour of the stars above November city. Most nights, Della ventures from her college dorm window concealed by only her red hood, a very special gift from a very special someone, named only Mathew, aware of her late night adventures. [He is explained further in her bio]. For the short while before Della reaches her safe point [wherin she removes the hood and Energizes, she jokes about being a little red riding hood. The peice of technology she wears around herself is engineered to remove all trace of her existence from the naked eye. Mathew created a textured surface capable of using its reflective properties and a shite tonne more technological mumbo jumbo to render Della invisible and blended into her surroundings. Think of harry potter's cloak of invisibility. If her face is not covered it could still be seen. [the hood is illustrated below, and much further down under the biography in its useful everyday form]. Besides her cloak Della usually wears a plain pair of tights, a tank top, no jewellery of any kind and no shoes. The less she wears the less she will have to conceal within herself and the more energy she can utilise to fight. Okay, back to the 'safe point' [god, could she work out a simpler routine? im buggered] once it is reached Della gives herself the go to remove her cloak and Energize into her alias Cosmica. Her little clothing dissapears and rests within her, aswell as her cloak. Extremely mundane and small things do not take up alot of her energy, nor her concentration, though she has experienced a moment of extreme danger before wherein an enemy hit her so badly she reverted to her human state and with her clothing still within her, was left naked/revealed and thus forced to end a man's life with his own weapon when he found her naked state too appealing. [it's probably what you are thinking, yes; i didnt say she was angry at alot for nothing. she knows Novembers injustices personally. She has heard it said that "This stupid Cosmica girl is too damn pretty to be running around November city every night. Someone ought to cut her open now and empty her back into the sky where she belongs." [whether Della was offended or complimented is unknown as of yet] She is lucky that she does not actively have to conceal her identity, the shift does it all for her.

Whats she knows [everything she remembers up until now - may be updated as rp progresses]; Adeline Rose Worthington, was born on May 25th of 1997, the only daughter of scientists Esmerelda and Arthur Worthington. She grew up in Central America, learning the language, being affected by the accent and indulged in their customs until she was 7 years old, when her parents moved them all to the wealthy, professional and "pristine" piece of November City referred to as


What she doesn't [these are the missing pieces to Della's life. It's what she wishes she knew, and some others already do]; Adeline has never been an ordinary young girl, and she can owe that to her mad scientist parents. When she finds out anyway. Esmerelda and Arthur believed if they could find a way to engineer a being that could shift between atoms, that they would have untapped power, entry into vaults, information, etc. An indestructible being is what they wanted, and a daughter is what they got. She was unplanned and unexpected, but they wouldn't waste an opportunity, would they? At first, Esme refused to allow their experiments to corrupt the livelyhood of their child. Arthur was hesitant, but he was also certain it was their best chance. "We are genius's Esme, do you really think we could mess this up? Besides it's just a stupid experiment. This child is a sidecar to our already great achievements." What great parents they were. To them, the growing feotus within Esme became nothing but a test subject to fuel their sadistic fantasies. There had to be something seriously wrong with them before Adeline came along for this kind of behaviour. Fear not, there was....

Energizing - What she calls her ability to transform into her cosmic self. Her cells all shift completely and simultaneously, as if suddenly consisting on a completely different plane to everyone else. She still has not figured the resemblance she makes to the stars, or why her hair seems to defy gravity. Even Mathew has no answer for her. His efforts to understand her, paired with her own have so far only placed Della at a position of knowledge that she is in fact, very displaced, and immune to airborne [gaseous] attacks, immune to the effects of cold temperatures and high temperatures. Mathew theorises that things like climate and gases, do not effect her in this state because the space between atoms is much larger compared to that of a very solid and physical human fist or chunk of metal, thus, her displaced nature can easily shove them aside. [shit, does that make sense? i'm gonna research a lot more so this makes perfect sense i think....i just don't wanna leave her powers without logic...science help me now] She enjoys her physical state however, finding it to be pretty durable compared to her normal self. i.e, she could suffer the same hit to her head five times over as Cosmica and still stand, but become unconscious on the second hit as Della. Her feet are thick and accepting of all terrains, which makes landing easy after she Leaps. Also, as Cosmica, Della's voice become warped and sounds far distant, as if her voice doesn't know where to travel. She is ethereal.
Singularity - An action which involves enveloping another physical human being. An accident in the lab with Mathew revealed this ability of hers. She has practiced it plenty because of the accident. To summarize, Cosmica is capable of expanding and engulfing another human being so they may exist within her space and she can transport them safely or protect them say from gases, explosions, pneumonia, fires etc. Mathew and herself were working on Della's immunity to a certain gas when the power shut down, and with no back up generator, the gas began to seep out of Della's chamber towards Mathew. It was like instinct when she threw herself outside at him and for a split second, she was elastic, before she resembled a large starry sphere, had grown to fit him and Mathew was left at room temperature, staring out of Della's large white eyes, now safe from the gas surrounding them. He described the floating as an other worldly feeling; like everything was perfect, and nothing mattered. Della felt sick. She has since managed to fit about four people for a max of about 5 minutes since then, having saved bystanders from the likes of poisonous smoke grenades, fires and fumes in the past.
Shroud/Conceal - Just a simple term for her ability to store her clothing within her person [its really just singularity but for inanimate objects]. Sometimes, if she thinks she can handle it, she will add a couple useful things by Mathew's's request. A couple times before she has been out and about with a bag full of things [plus her outfit] that made her stomach and head ache while she defended a teenage boy from a gang of low life's.
Leap/Harnessing energy- This takes a little more concentration. Cosmica is very athletic, but sometimes the way the city is laid out, getting from one place to another has to be faster than just running, using fire escapes, stolen vehicles and hitching a ride. Della is glad to say she can utilise her 'cosmic' energy to vault herself from roof to roof, or even right up from the ground onto a building. The higher her adrenaline is, the easier it is for her to perform this task. It seems it is like that with all of her abilities.

Concealment - Due to her starry like appearance, in the night, and amongst the shadows of November City, Cosmica is practically unseen, and definitely unrecognizable as Della. It would take a very keen, or accompanied eye to make out Cosmica in the distance or within a darkened room. Her stars seem to always understand when she doesn't want to be seen, and so they dim themselves. Mathew believes Della is doing this subconsciously.
Keen Intellect - Since a young age, Della has achieved above average marks in her studies, especially in english, science and the arts. Her mind is a constantly whirring, learning and receiving one. She prides herself in formulating ideas, logical explanations and knowledgable answers to the many questions asked of her. Her excelling studies at her university in Downtown are a representation of just how far her young mind can reach.
Visualisation - Della also prides herself on forming prospects, visualising situations, creating vivid images in her head and being able to instinctively chose the right decisions with help of visual aid and imagination. It makes it easier for her to pick an outfit for example [she laughs at herself for considering fashion a skill of hers] or whilst in a fight, pick the exact eave to destroy so that a ceiling might collapse on a sadistic assailant and offer her time to apprehend them, or even so she might recognize a face in a crowd who could be the key to an investigation or a crime.
Hand to Hand Combat - Constant mixed martial arts classes keep Della on her toes, and allow her the necessary skills to match assailants in hand to hand combat on the streets. She is very skilled in the area, and is able to pack a punch using a similar technique of energy harnessing as she does when she leaps. [without it i'm afraid she excels in fluid movements, acrobatics and foot work; not that it isn't also favoured]. Her personal trainer teaches a range of ju-jitsu, taekwondo, muay thai and boxing to get her through the motions. When they have time, Mathew also schools her on kenpo, a martial art which incorporates the use of a staff. In the future, she wants this to become her primary weapon as opposed to her fists and feet.

Appearance: Aster Adalia is a short, skinny 23-year-old girl, with long black hair and very pale skin, two helix rings in her right ear, and a dusting of freckles over her nose. Her face is small and heart-shaped, and her grey eyes are by far her most notable feature. She’s always wearing baggy t-shirts and sweats, which hide a pretty busty figure underneath.

Hero Outfit: Black hoodie, grey sweats, black fingerless gloves, and running shoes. The only thing that indicates that she isn’t a normal civilian is her black domino mask over her eyes.

Background:
Aster never knew her parents. She was raised in the foster system, being passed around from family to family like an 18-year long game of hot potato. Some of them weren’t nice at all, taking in lots of kids just for the monthly checks that came with them, and she tended to make herself scarce and spend as much time away as she could. But often times, they were just people trying to do the right thing. They didn’t need the money, though it was certainly nice to know that they were getting paid to house a bunch of orphans, and they would say that often, but aster could never quite get herself to believe it. She was one unlucky foster kid who never found her forever home.
After she got kicked out of the foster system, she started working at a coffee shop, and she bought her own apartment, then proceeded to decorate it with posters and memorabilia from her favorite video games. Her desk holds a “Well-loved” gaming computer, as well as all the hardware for her games. Her dream is to one day be able to support herself on the games that she’s created, but no dice so far.
Her best friend/coworker is named Bryant O'hare, playfully nicknamed “Link” because he refuses to keep his long hair at a reasonable length, and instead has a man ponytail. Then there’s his girlfriend, Alexa, who has the nickname of “Zelda” because it’s hilarious to watch her get mad about it.
She discovered her powers way back in highschool when she was trying out for soccer, and her nails popped out when she tried to block the ball from hitting her face. She didn’t make the team, and all the others developed quickly after that.
Everybody claims to know this girl, but no one really does. They only know her front. She actually suffers from PTSD and depression, and has tried to take her own life on more than one occasion. She needs help, and has started getting it, but it’s a long and tiring process. Hopefully someone can save this hero from drowning.

Powers/Skills:
Super Strength: Aster can deadlift almost twice her wheight.
Speed: She runs very fast, but can’t do it for extended periods of time.
Agility: She’s very agile, and is able to go across five city blocks without her feet touching the ground.
Hearing: She has excellent hearing, able to hear a conversation all the way accross her appartment building if she focouses hard enough, but she basically zombie-mode for anything else going on around her.
Impenetrability: Her skin is tough, and it’s not easy to get under her skin, physically at least. Figuratively, it’s a completely different story.
Claws: She has claws that come out of and over her fingernails, and they’re really strong. Not quite able to cut through steel, but sharp enough to get through human skin and muscle.
