Flocks of Familiars

Something I've just noticed that could help with this discussion.  In Book of Bone & Ebony, page 65, there is a 2-dot artifact, Cloak of Vermin.

Basically, the cloak can turn into a swarm of rats and be used to attack a particular target, but cannot perform any complex maneuvers.  It states that the swarm of rats are treated with the stats of a great cat and automatically does both a biting and a clawing attack every turn to a single target.

So, maybe, if you wanted to have a flock or swarm not be so combat worthy, then take the stats of a larger creature and work from there.

Sadly for Forn, Jakk is in another continuity, and his glider infused Abyssal will never know the horror of choking to death on a Solar infused Apple Brown Betty...Jakk's specialty.

No, really.  Jakk has killed with his Apple Brown Betty, in a fit of Stuntaliciousness.  Jakk has still not forsworn such things, and may once again raise pastry in anger again...

WHat about a spirit or creature that can become a flock of birds? There are alot of strange creatures out there. Why not something that has the ability similar to Dracula from the novel - but Crows instead of rats. The flock would take damage as one creature and as that creature heals then everything is returned. THe crows could look normal if they are trying to pretend to be normal or they could become some sort of shadow crows. I think that would qualify as a high point familiar!
