Daisuke said Zuki could find what she liked doing, and that was a nice gesture and all, but Zuki didn’t have any interests. It made her think hard and honestly, it made her feel ashamed of the life she had lived. Protecting people was all she was good at, was there even a life for her outside of that? For now all she could do was put on a brave face and pretend like she wasn’t terrified of the future. “Well I’d offer to be Candy’s bouncer if Pepe and Esme ever ran off but it looks like you don’t even need me. You look pretty handy with that bat of yours. There goes that career path.” Zuki slipped behind the bar to get Daisuke and her a drink while Candy busied herself chasing off the random woman.
As Daisuke spoke she made her way to the barstool next to his, taking a quick sip of her whiskey before he reached to pull her towards him. “I know what a sleep over is. It’s like, something you put over rice. Like soy sauce or something. Then you go to sleep afterwards. Right?” That made sense in her head…kind of. “And besides, a normal social interaction doesn’t involve shooting zombies with fake guns, or shotgunning a beer. My reactions made perfect sense and were completely valid. I am plenty socialized.” Zuki shot him a small smirk before glancing over at Candy. “So do you need me to run to the store for anything for this sleep over? I’d volunteer Asa but he’s already in the dog house.”
