Fire Emblem: Fates Collide

Three days later they arrived at the Capitol, nothing eventful came up during those days, atleast nothing other than killing a deer for food. The palace came into view as Ruin walked silently with Lelei, whom he did trust just a smidge, today he would receive his pay, and than they would either get another bounty or head to another employer. "You finally get to find out who my employer is, excited?"

Lelei sighed, relieved that they had finally arrived. It was early in the morning, and so while Lelei WAS excited to both see Ruin's employer and to see Lady Hinoka again, she was also a bit sluggish from having just woken up. "Yay..." Lelei raised one arm to the air and half-heartedly cheered, her eyes barely even open. "So, how does a Nohrian like you even get inside the palace?" Lelei asked.

Ruin laughed, "Oh Lelei, didn't you ever learn that you can just walk directly into a place. No sneaking around or anything like that, just walking straight on in, at the doors though I do have to hand over my weapons." Ruin knew not everyone could do such a thing, but he had proven that he was just a sell-sword and nothing else many times over, he had even had times he could have killed the Royals, but he never did, he wasn't one to normally take on assassination jobs.

"Wait, people actually GIVE those guys their weapons?!?" Lelei was legitimately surprised. "I just tell them that Lady Hinoka is gonna be REALLY angry if her best mercenary gets held up at the gates by some random guards." Lelei mind was blown that people don't get through the palace's gate as easily as she did.

Ruin smiled "Yes some people do, especially ones who they already don't trust.... Say.. A Nohrian." Ruin looked at Lelei and laughed, "Some of us have to follow the rules Lelei."

"Pssh... Rules are boring... Lelei scoffed. "That's why I got in good graces with Lady Hinoka. Royalty, and those around them, rarely have to follow dumb rules. "

"When everyone already assumes you are after the Royal's heads, they don't really care what you do for them, you follow the rules or risk being attacked." Ruin stated, he was sure Lelei could get around the rules as she pleased, but he couldn't, no matter what he did the Hoshidans would probably never trust him. "So, little Lelei, know any good jokes?" He said looking over his shoulder at Lelei

"Yea, I do know some jokes. Your fighting style, for one." Lelei laughed for a second, before actually trying to think of a joke. "Did you hear the joke about the Kingdom of Darkness? NOHR did I!" Lelei knew the joke was awful, but she found it funny just the same.

Ruin laughed, awful jokes were great, though the fact that Lelei kept gripping about his fighting style was slightly annoying. "Nice one." They were closing in on the Hoshidon palace quickly. "Finally time to get paid though."

Once they made it through the palace gate, Ruin without his weapons and Lelei still carrying her's, Lelei followed Ruin to se where he went to go meet his employer.

Walking deeper into the palace Ruin finally stopped when they got to a room deep inside the palace "here we are, Lady Sakura's room" knocking slightly on the door he looked at Lelei, "please behave"

"Hmm, Lady Sakura, huh? She's good for healing wounds, but not as wicked cool in combat like Hinoka. And behave? Only around royalty, sir."

Ruin opened the door after being told they may enter. "True she doesn't partake in combat like Lady Hinoka, but she has saved many lives," Turning to lady Sakura he got down on one knee and placed the insignias on the ground in-front of him "They were taken care of like you asked my lady."
