Fantasy Finding Pack and Finding Home

Max doesn't sleep, he spends more time trying not to be sick than he does paying attention to the pack, but he does get to focus on Felse from time to time and that helps to keep him from getting sick on himself or anything else. He's all too happy to watch the bus unload at a stop, most people seem to wait in the area, as if another bus is going to come and get them. He doesn't care, the town is small, but its clear that most seem to be leaving it for the bigger cities. Humans, they don't keep the small things anymore. He sighed and moved to follow after Felse, reaching up to yank her bag out from the small hole he had managed to stuff it into and put it onto his back after making sure that there was nothing left behind. He was all too happy to get off of stuffy bus, where it was like everything caught up with him and he ran a few steps away to lose whatever was left in his stomach into a garbage bin. He groaned, wiping furiously at his beard to make sure nothing was stuck in it as he pulled a sour face while walking back towards Felse and the pack. "Next time you guys ride, I'll run after the bus." he said, convincing himself that he was never going to get onto another vehicle again.

Lucas jolted as the bus came to a stop, sitting up fast as he realized that they weren't moving. The chatter of the humans and the fact they were moving off the bus told him that they had reached what was probably the only stop they were meant to go too and he stifled a yawn as he got up, picking up both the bags he had been laying on to follow after Felse and Maxwell. He pulled a sour face when he realized that his brother was getting sick "He's not going to eat for a day or so." he muttered, venturing through the stop towards the darker areas of the town to allow his eyes to adjust to take a look around. If they were lucky, they could pick a building that wasn't too worse for wear. He was still close enough to the pack that they were together, that they were safe.

Sarah didn't know when, but she soon fell asleep on their ride. She woke when the bus stopped and yawned as she tried to stretch, wincing at the pain in her healing side and rib. She grumbled, taking a look around before sighing. She couldn't be carried forever, as nice as it was to stay that close to Ghost. She really didn't want to push her luck. "I'll walk." she said softly, taking a moment to just breath the other woman in before she was getting up slowly off of her and to her feet, taking a look around, she frowned and blinked a few times because she really had no idea where they were. Holding onto the seats as she walked after the rest of the pack, she only had a minor limp as she went along, nothing too horribly noticeable by a human unless they were staring at her. Scratching where the bandage was on the back of her leg, Sarah stepped off the bus in time to see Max walking back towards them from a garbage bin and she shuddered because she didn't know he'd been nauseous and could have helped. Too late now.

"Alright, come on. Let's find that place." Max said, offering his arm to Felse so that they could walk as they had been since they had practically met. Arm in arm. "The sooner, the better." he added, starting toward where Lucas was standing, looking into the barely lit town. Whatever they picked, he could only hope that it wasn't owned and they would be safe to go in and out of it. "How far from Queens are we?" Max decided to ask Felse quietly as they walked away from the bus stop, because he was curious to know how far away from the danger of the military they were so he knew how long they could stay safe. A heavy sigh came out of him and he rolled his eyes at the sounds of his siblings behind him.

Lucas snorted as they walked into the town and it was like he was the one leading the way. He didn't know what he was even supposed to be looking for, but most of the buildings didn't even look like they had a stable structure anymore. One didn't even look like it had a roof, so he slowed down to let the leading pair get ahead of him, yelping in surprise when the rucksack was yanked from his shoulder. He grumbled, rubbing it as he shot a glare at his sister, one that could only be given between siblings. When she thanked him mockingly, he growled in annoyance before turning his head away to ignore her.

Sarah yawned as she turned to see where Ghost was before they were following the other three into the town. She was walking slow on purpose, very busy looking around at all the different buildings in all the various states of decay. Whomever ran this little town, if anyone still ran the little town, didn't appear to care about the buildings and it was a little sad as she looked at them. But her attention was soon pulled away as Lucas ended up in the middle again, that one on his own between the two pairs. Her eyes fell to the ruck sack and her hand shot out to grab it and yank it off of his shoulder. Sarah wouldn't openly admit to it, but she relished in the yelp that came from him and she stuck her tongue out at him when he glared at her. "Thank you." she added sweetly, though it was easy to tell she was mocking him.

Fesle waits patiently for others to make their way out of the bus, quietly thanking Maxwell as he got her bookbag. The teenagers could have gone faster but they were too focused on their conversations rather than the people behind them. Until Fesle had a pack of her own, she used to the annoyed at those that were too focused in each other to pay mind to others around them. Having a clue what that was like has always been such a blur until now, now that she's with the Crescents and Ghost. In some moments in time, she has felt that way when she walks alongside them. The world doesn't seem so interesting at those moments, which makes Fesle unsure if that's okay or not.

Once they were out of the bus, the cold breeze of the night hit her, making her rub her arms after a good stretch was in order. That's how she's always done it after riding in a bus for hours, it's a fun but also cramping feeling. Her attempts to warm herself were halted when the sound of regurgitation hits her ears. Her stomach churns at the sound and can only support Maxwell from afar at this point. The sounds and smells of vomit never did hit her right and she has to fold her arms over her own stomach to calm it down. When Maxwell makes his way over to her, the sour smell coming from the trash can brings a hand up to her nose, pinching it. Times like these is when she regrets having a peak sense of smell.

"Maxwell," she starts, "you're special to me, but I might need you to brush your teeth." Fesle says in the most polite way that she can despite wanting sleep. For a few seconds she tries to hold his arm but still has to not breathe through her nose. She's all too happy to let go of his arm to get the map from her bookbag. I suppose the scene was funny because she hears Ghost continuing to chuckle since Maxwell vomited. Fesle unravels the map to observe it, walking ahead of them a bit just to get further away from the bin. After a few seconds of finding where they are, Fesle answers, "Couple hundred miles away, at least two hundred, I think we're in this town called Mulepins."

"This is amazing." Ghost comments as she had watched Maxwell threw up his lunch into the poor bin. "Remind me all that it takes to get you weak is a merry-go-round." she jokes, also finding herself stretching like Fesle. Observing the town around her, there's sort of a nostalgia feel to it. Oftentimes her family would camp out in these types of towns if they were down on their luck against other packs. After all, no one questions a group of people hanging out in an abandoned building when the townspeople aren't far from the appearance. She walks beside Sarah, enjoying being behind the pack rather than in the middle or front. That's how she's always walked with a group of people, there's no one to worry about stabbing her in the back- quite literally.

She doesn't shy away from the goal they when there was still daylight, wanting to just sit still so that they can figure out their plan in the morning. The military are far from her mind, they've been since she escaped. How they captured her was a rookies' luck and it won't happen again. Looking around at the other messed up buildings, one in particular caught her eye simply because the window beside the door was smashed. Without talking to the others about it, she walks across the streets and steps onto the sidewalk now opposite from them.

The large wooden door has a bolt through it, preventing entry unless going towards violence. But the broken window next to it makes it seem like a joke as Ghost looks in. Whoever was in here either stole whatever was left or trashed the place. Gnashes of what looks to be knife marks are edged into spray-paint covered walls and all that's left is a broken chair in the middle of the room. From the looks of it, this building must have been a general store from the thick bolts on the floor. It must have been where the register was, not to mention an old product poster that lays ripped on the floor. There's nothing promising about this building being a rest stop until she eyes the stairs that lead up to the second floor.

Finally, remembering that there is in fact a pack with her, she turns to look at them from across the street. "I think this is the best card in a deck guys." she says, resting her back against the door. "We can use something to block off the broken window for the night. At least this place has a roof over it." Ghost supports her own decision with crossed arms.

"What's a merry-go-round?" Sarah asked of Ghost, turning her attention away from where she had been pestering Lucas by flicking him and poking at him, much like she was the youngest of the three. She knew how to be a brat, knew how to get her way, but that came from getting her way most of their lives. Her attention stayed on Ghost as she watched her head for a building and readily followed her, the rucksack going onto one shoulder. She wasn't any taller or shorter than the other woman, but she went up on her toes to peek around the broken glass of the window to see what the inside of the place was like. While on her toes, she spied what was likely a few mice running around along the edges of the walls. "Gross." she grumbled, but she knew it was likely the best building of the lot, and if not, it would do for now. She hoisted the rucksack up to put it through the window and let it drop, whimpering softly at the pain doing so caused her side.

Lucas turned to look when he realized that he wasn't being bothered anymore and reached out to snag Maxwell's arm to stop him from walking as he gestured to where the other girls were standing. He hadn't been sure about that building, but looked as if it had been decided on, so he started towards the building as he looked up at the second floor, trying to figure out if there was any issues up there or if it was going to be safe. He was quickly caught off guard as he was pulled to the window and used as a boost while his sister vaulted into the window. He was then quick to get out of his brothers way.

Maxwell was trying to figure out how to get the disgusting taste of sick out of his mouth so that he could have Felse back at his side, before he was turning his head to look as the back of his sweater was grabbed and he hummed as he looked at his brother, and then to where Ghost was calling to them that the building she was at was their best bet. He reached out to snag Felse's arm and gestured her over to the building. "It'll do for the night." he said offering her a bit of a smile before he was starting across the street towards the building as he looked over the aged and decaying brick. "Well, it's still standing." he said, his eyes quickly falling to Sarah. His hands darted out to try and grab her but he missed as she disappeared through the window. "Dammit! Sarah!" he nearly roared, he wasn't yelling but the scolding tone of his voice was loud in the quiet town. He leaned into the window to look around for her before letting out this heavy puff of breath as his eyes fell on her. "Next time wait for us to agree." he growled at her.

Sarah took a good look around before dropping the bag in through the window, before glancing over her shoulder to make sure that no one was really within reach of her, except for maybe Ghost and Lucas. She was used to being the smaller of the group who would go in ahead of her brothers to make sure that the doors were cleared before unlocking them and letting them in. She very easily forgot that she wasn't the smallest anymore, that Felse was actually smaller than she was and she didn't need to do what she was so used to doing. So, she yanked Lucas over to her and forced him to act as a bracer before she was stepping on him and vaulting through the already broken window, vacant of most of the glass. She hissed and winced at the pain in her leg as she landed, but you could hear her laughing at Maxwell's rage and panic. "I'm fine! Door is blocked." she called out, the smile in her voice easily heard.

After a bang and some clatter could be heard as Sarah moved something away from the door before the lock clicked and the door swung inwards. "Ta-da!" she said with a large grin, standing there, hiding her pain as she gestured the pack inside. Max stood there, glaring at her because the entire reason they had taken the bus, why he had gotten sick was because of her injuries. Lucas decided to go ahead of the pack upstairs to make sure it was safe enough to stay and sleep. He found one large office devoid of anything important, only one desk that was falling apart, a busted chair and scattered decaying papers. It was dusty but it was safe and appeared to lack water damage.

Ghost rolls her eyes along with a chuckle at Sarah's sarcastic question, but when she looks to her she is in fact not joking. "You seriously don't know what those are? Geez, your parents just shielded you guys from everything huh." Not really wanting to go into detail over a kid's ride, she found that to be pointless. It did make her thing just how much their parents blocked them off from the world. From getting car sick on a bus ride to not knowing what a merry go round is, it seems that Ghost is surrounded more and more by incompetence. Thankfully however, it's incompetence that can be trained, needs to be trained as fast as possible. But first, she needs to deal with Fesle first, one that naturally gets under her skin.

"Gross like your bag." Ghost comments before using her elbow to break any glass that snagged the bottom of the window. The thick sweater prevented any from sticking to her but that didn't prevent her from checking just in case any decided to stay. The original plan in her head was to go inside for them, but Sarah beat her to it. Before she could retort due to her injuries, Ghost just leaned back against the wall as she watches Maxwell blow a casket once again. "Tsk tsk Max, can't even get a hold of your own sister." At this point it's just easy for her to annoy him, it's like a game even. Knowing that Sarah and Fesle wouldn't allow him to touch her gives her the advantage to remind him of all his flaws. She shows her higher ground through a small smile.

Hearing a ruckus going on behind the door, Ghost moves aside and soon watches Sarah emerge from the darkness. Dust flew into the air and a loud creak comes from the door as it's probably been open the first time in a long while. Pride shows on Ghost through her high chin and straight shoulders at Sarah. Her defiance towards her brother, her Alpha, never ends and right now that's of the things they have in common. Her spoiled attitude can be sometimes a plus or annoyance for Ghost. Walking up the stairs, she places a hand on Sarah's shoulder as Lucas walks past them. "Well done brat." is all she says before following after Lucas as well. Walking up the stairs, it's hard for each step to not make a creaking noise, stepping over a specific hole in one of the steps.

When she makes it to the top, she sees the same thing as Lucas sees but is curious about something else. Making her way towards the papers, she crouches down and brushes off the age of dirt and dust that were on the papers. Some of the papers are hard to read as the fonts are faded and most are ripped up; but she's able to make out some of the history of this building. "Shipping information," Ghost mumbles, "guess this place was a post office." As she stands back up, there's a disgust shown through her tugged lip at where she could possibly try to sleep. There's no leaves that can make her a bed and the desk doesn't look promising that it'll stay.

Fesle was too busy focusing on the map, possibly their next destination, but was brought back to the objective at hand when Max's touched her arm. Looking up at him with a head tilt, she follows his gaze towards where every else had been going. "I'm glad that we were able to find one so quickly, you need rest." Fesle follows after him and watches him go into rage over his sister going in before him. He's so used to protecting his siblings that I bet it is in fact irritating for them to go ahead of him. She can't imagine the possible anxiety or responsibility that rests on his shoulders.

Glancing at Ghost, she furrows her brows at her, "Does it make you happy to belittle others so relentlessly?" Her question hoped to bring Ghost to a realization that the hour of the night and circumstances didn't need such comments. Though like a weasel, she doesn't give up so easily as she responds without a second to waste, "It actually does, city wolf, but don't worry, if you feel bad about it maybe there's another bus you can hop on to feel better." Ghost's words easily are recognized as yet another way to get under Fesle's skin, but she doesn't want to give her the satisfaction of a response. Besides, even if Fesle wanted to give a response, Sarah has opened the door and Ghost is onward to her next sight of focus. Does she even care what she says or is it really just fun for her?

Sarah scoffed as her bag was made fun of, she loved it and it meant more because Ghost had stolen it for her. The busted shelf had been a little heavier than she had been expecting, but after she opened the door, she couldn't help but puff up a little with pride and a huge grin as Ghost walked in and told her that she had done good. She was perfectly find with being called a brat and she proved it further that she was as she stuck her tongue out at her youngest brother before scooping up the rucksack to trail after the other two up the stairs. She nearly stepped into the hole, but avoided it at the last moment before walking into the room. "Wow... I thought it'd be smaller." she said, heading for the corner along the same wall of the door and she dropped the bag there to claim that as a place to sleep.

Max huffed in annoyance at both Ghost and Sarah, shaking his head as the three other members of the pack headed inside the building. "We're going to end up fighting if she keeps jabbing at me. But I don't want to fight her, I don't want to fracture this pack when it feels like we're only just starting to put the pieces together." he said, staring in through the open door up and towards the stairs they had all disappeared up. He could hear movement and what sounded like a struggle but he didn't want to go check right now because he wanted to do a proper check of the main floor. Maybe he would get lucky and find something, or matter how old, to rid the smell and taste from his mouth. "Are you going to stay down here with me, or are you going to go and see what the pack is up too?" he asked of Felse as he motioned for her to go a head of him first into whatever the slim strip of building was.

Lucas turned to look as Ghost and then Sarah had come up the stairs into the room with him, he watched them both for a moment, nearly sneezing as dust was kicked up from curiosity and walking about. The dust had little places to go, but he managed not to sneeze as he used the wall to half climb up and start wrenching on one of the high up windows, trying to get it open to let in some fresher air. He grunted and fought with it before it finally gave way with a loud pop and protested creak as it went out instead of coming in. He coughed as he got a face full of chalky dust and he slid down the wall to lean heavily into it to keep his balance. Spitting after he was done, he made sure it stayed away from anywhere they would sleep. "Think there's good hunting around here?" he asked, to make conversation as he dropped the duffle bag on the desk. He and Sarah both jumped as the desk fell apart.

"Guess we can use that for a fire if we have too." Sarah said, toeing a piece of the busted desk away from her as she turned her eyes up towards Ghost before she turned them towards Lucas. "Come sit, let me check on your cheek." she said, giving him a look that said he had no choice as she gestured towards where the bag with the medicinal supplies were. She slid down the wall to sit and pulled the supplies she wanted out and threw a leg over her brothers as he sat down and she put a quick paste that she made on his cheek before she was giving him two viles to drink before she let him get up. She didn't move away from where she sat down, looking up at Ghost as if she was going to ask her something. But she didn't know what that was, if she was even going to ask her anything.

Max had trailed after Felse into the building and closed the door behind him, locking it before he was starting to walk around in the near dark as his eyes adjusted. He crinkled his nose at the sight of mice and shook his head at the small creatures they would be sharing with. If they found a way to survive here then he knew his pack was going to be fine. He instead continued to carefully walk around, checking around everything to make sure nothing dangerous was there, but he found nothing, in fact most of it seemed to have been shelving and structures that were one bolted to the cracked flooring. Nothing was left except for a few odd bits of paper that fell apart as he picked one up. He made his way to check out what looked like a spot where a counter once stood and dug around before finding a door that led into a back room that was half open and exposed to the elements. "We can come in and out this way... Maybe it will have something to block that window... We'll look in the morning." he said, hesitating in stepping out into that back area. Something was telling him not too, a feeling deep in his gut so he closed the door and locked it, where he double checked to make sure it couldn't be opened.

Lucas moved away from Sarah as soon as she was done with him and he went to the door to check and see where Max and Felse were. He leaned over the rail to see that his brother was practically under him "Hey, Ralph... You and Felse coming?" he asked, grinning and laughing at the glare he received before hurrying into the room and around the broken desk to have it be between them as a means of defense that he really didn't need. Until his cheek fully healed, he didn't want to risk shifting. But that didn't mean he and his brother couldn't fight as the teasing went back and forth and they went round and round the room. At some point, Lucas ended up using Felse as a shield, which only seemed to annoy Maxwell further.

Fesle was watching Ghost step more into the shadows, following after Sarah and Lucas. I bet Ghost wouldn't want to admit it, but they sort of look like a mini-group already. Lucas doesn't growl at her like before and the only thing Ghost does to annoy him is call him a Jester. Some reason, it's her and Maxwell that she ceases to give peace to. It's hard to figure out exactly why Ghost is doing this, perhaps it is to get a fight out of Maxwell or maybe to take Fesle's spot....spot? This King and Queen concept is already enveloped into my head....but also think that maybe it's been like that before she even said anything.

Maxwell speaking makes Fesle only think more into Ghost's possible motives but does give him a silent encouragement. Her fingers graze the top of his knuckles before gently grabbing onto them. This fight will be inevitable if something isn't done about Ghost's words, but how can Fesle change that about her? It's up to Ghost's to choose her words carefully.....or maybe. With that Fesle's head snaps up towards Maxwell, "I might have a solution Maxwell." she walks in to finally get out of the cold- not like this building holds any heat. Besides the window, there's no doubt many cracks and holes hidden in this building that make it seem like they never left the streets. She hugs her own body as she watches Maxwell, not wanting to interrupt him as he looks for escapes.

It's not until Maxwell locks that backdoor does Fesle put up her idea, "I think the only person that could get Ghost to lighten the harsh load in her words is Sarah...Do you think it's possible to ask Sarah to talk with Ghost? At this rate, she's the only one that seems to have any type of affect on her...." Like you do with me Fesle wanted to say but decided to keep things serious for Max's sake. She would walk up to Maxwell but stays close to the stairwell instead, listening in on the others just in case an argument broke loose. It's almost like babysitting has occurred since Ghost showed up.

"Probably the only thing good around here are dogs or rabbits, I can't see deer wanting to be in a dump like this." Ghost responds towards Lucas, walking around to look at the walls of the building. A few pictures fell and were shattered but whatever was inside was taken out, leaving nothing but a hallow shell of forgotten memories. She kicks the broken glass towards a cluttered corner of the room when the desk crumbling broke the silence. Such a loud and sudden noise made Ghost not only jump, but let out a yelp. Covering her mouth did nothing to prevent the squeak and her face heats up. Trying to calm down her racing heart, she turns toward them before straightening her sweater, "There's a lot of mice around here." she comments, trying to get any attention off of her before acting like nothing happened.

While Sarah attends to Lucas, Ghost pulls out her family knife and studies it as if it changed. She cleaned it back at the river but that doesn't hide the fact of how much blood this knife has spilt; how many screams were silenced with one swipe. The voices of Fesle and Maxwell are heard downstairs, but what exactly they spoke about she didn't know. Fesle seems to be speaking quietly and it makes Ghost curious before feeling Sarah's eyes back on her. Her eyes glow in the lack of light as they look down at the injured woman, "What?" the look on Sarah's face seemed to be wanting to say something, but the lack of words makes Ghost go back into her protective mode. "Shouldn't you be checking on your wounds and going to sleep anyway?" Standing beside Sarah, she leans against the wall but not putting her whole weight on it, doubting it would even hold her.

Whatever conversation they had was cut short when Lucas came running back up the stairs. Fesle didn't speak a word once Lucas went downstairs to talk to them, not wanting Lucas to think they're conspiring something. The tension lifts as they start chasing each other, earning a giggle from Fesle as she walks slowly up the stairs to follow them. Having no electricity, Fesle makes sure to not trip over the steps and not fall into the hole before seeing the sight before her. It almost looks like a comedy act as they circle around the desk, the giggle Fesle once had turns into laughter as Lucas grabs her.

Not sure if she'd make the best defense against Maxwell's rage against Lucas, but it's rather nice to know that Lucas would include her in this endeavor...even if Max could break her like a twig if he wanted to. Fesle couldn't speak past her laughter as she tries to get Lucas off of her, which resulted in her attempting to trip him by hooking his leg to get him off balance. "Were you ever taught not to man-handle a lady?" Fesle jokes, gasping for air from her fit of laughing. "You're not a lady," Ghost speaks up, "you're nothing but a city dog." instead of it sounding like an insult, there is a hint of amusement tied into her words.

"I checked them before we left." Sarah said, knowing she had last checked on them and put clean dressing on before falling asleep. Her eyes were still studying and taking in Ghost, smirking slightly as she took up position at the wall beside her. She bit her bottom lip as she debated on saying she knew the yelp earlier hadn't been a mouse, but choose not too and instead she turned her attention to her brothers as they ran about the room, causing the floor to protest in various ways that made her cringe. She was glad to have chosen the corner at least it was more likely to stay standing, or maybe go outwards. Sarah didn't actually know, and she couldn't help snickering as insults and words were tossed about. It felt like safety and home.

Lucas laughed as Felse tripped him and he went tumbling to the ground, where he lay sprawled out on his back, panting hard as he tried to catch his breath. "Lady or not a lady, wasn't taught much more than how to defend myself and pack." he said while a happy and contented smile up at her. He rolled away from his brothers grabbing hands and popped up to get around the busted desk to keep distance between them as he sat bellow the window he'd managed to get open earlier. Their only source of fresh air that wasn't from the busted window outside the still open door down into the main shop. "But, I'll say sorry if I was holding you too hard." he offered, still smiling.

Max growled as he tried to grab Lucas, but he was smiling and eventually his brother was flat on his back as Felse managed to trip him and he dove to try to grab his brother after a moment, but missed intentionally as they kept their distance from each other. "Long as you're sorry." he said, taking a moment to catch his own breath before he was yawning and reaching out his hand to take Felse's and pull her close, taking care to peek at the bandage that was clearly starting to come off. "You should get that changed now." he told her softly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze before letting go so that she could go towards Sarah on her own. "There's this big open space that leads into what's probably the back, it looks like its full of things. We should take a look in the morning." he said, taking the backpack off of his back to set it down along the wall just inside of the door. He stretched out before shifting, shaking out his fur before he laid down just to the right inside of the door where he clearly planned to sleep. While he remembered Felse's suggestion, there was no way he could get his sister alone any time soon to talk to her to ask her to talk to Ghost.

Sarah had been pulling out some of the sweaters from the bag to make a pillow or something softer to lie down on when she heard mention of the bandage on Felse and she put the bag aside, gesturing for Ghost to go ahead and take something to lie down with before she's opening up both of the medical supply kits they have, one still full of human supplies and the other full of traditional medicines of their kind. She waited for the other woman before she was doing the same thing she had done with her brother, because of the way she was sitting, she had too throw a leg over the other woman's to get closer and see what she was doing. Sarah's nimble fingers made quick work of the old bandage and was gently cleaning the area before making that quick small bit of paste still on Lucas' face. When she was done, she put a fresher bandage on before handing her three viles. "One for pain, one to stop infection, one to help you heal and have less of a scar, or no scar if you're lucky." she says, moving her leg and scooting back against the wall once the medicines had been taken.

As things began to settle down, Lucas moved from where he was and dragged the duffle bag out of the rubble of the desk before using that as a pillow and laying somewhere between his siblings away from the wall. Sarah, who had fallen asleep with her back to the wall, moved as if she knew he was there. She had rolled, whimpering soft in her sleep and eventually ending up half draped over her brother, though she wasn't using him as a pillow, part of her was over him. Lucas let her as he drifted off, part of both of them stretched towards Maxwell and Felse. But it was only Sarah who was stretched out in Ghost's direction, in her sleep she was still striving to hold onto her. And eventually, Max moved himself so that his siblings were touching him as he made most of himself available for Felse to use as a pillow or source of warmth.

"Keep me in the pack and I'll teach you what a lady can do." Fesle jokes in a pretend threatening tone, not being able to fully do it through her giggles. Her atmosphere and smile shows to Lucas that she didn't feel like he had handled her rough and there was no offense taken on it. At this point, Maxwell's hand size and gestures make it known to Fesle when it's him who's touching her. The pull he does makes her wrap around him easily as she leans her head against his arm, letting a sigh of relief. They're finally able to stop running from the military- for now at least- and can all relax.

"Hm?" Fesle opens her eyes at Maxwell's suggestion about the bandage. Her eyes look down towards her shoulder and notices how a corner of the bandage is lifted off her skin, showing a peek of the wound that's underneath it. "Ah, yes, I did promise that we'd change it once we got off." She looks over towards Sarah before walking over to her. It's tempting to go down there and look in that back space that Maxwell speaks of but with this wound she doesn't want to risk it getting worse. Sitting in front of Sarah, she sits still as she tends to it. "I'm sorry for using up your supplies again, first the energy and now this." The paste smells different from the ones that have been used on her before, but those were some low cost medical supplies the hippies would use. Fesle didn't mind that Sarah put her leg over hers, it actually makes her happy that Sarah is comfortable invading space like this. However, the situation is clear to someone else when Fesle hears a low growl.

Ghost had been looking at the pile of clothes that Sarah laid out for them. As Ghost thanked her for them, she ended up taking all of them for herself. Which that seems selfish in itself for her to do such a thing, but her plan was sort of try to get Sarah to just depend on her rather than the clothes. Plus, she really needs space between herself and the floor, or else her muscles will be sore. Ghost was about to ask Sarah for more clothes until she saw a leg draped over one of Fesle's in such a nonchalant, comfortable manner. It's odd for Ghost to have a sense of jealousy over their touching bond despite Ghost making it evident that she doesn't want to be touched without permission. The growl comes out before she could stop it, feeling it more to be a territory over what's her bond rather than the action itself. Mate bonds keep surprising her more and more.

The two women make eye contact, warm eyes of passion and enthusiasm combat against the cold, serious gaze of silvers; but both don't have any intention of fighting. Their bodies are relaxed as well as their posture, possibly due to the exhaustion of ongoing traveling. Something about Fesle's cognac orbs convey to Ghost that she's just doing it because Sarah did it first, which is true. Fesle wouldn't dare try anything like this especially since this is Maxwell's sibling; and she knows Sarah wouldn't do this on purpose either. Sarah's calm and unnoticing demeanor makes Ghost relax again, her eyes returning back to a relaxed state, which makes Fesle finally ask a question she's always been wanting to ask.

"Hey Ghost, is there a reason why you bit me, in this spot particular? I know that I was seen as a threat, but I will say that the striking spot is odd." Fesle tries to show Ghost that she's not trying to mock her abilities or anything, it is indeed odd to go for the crook of the neck when her jugular was right in front of her. She could have easily killed her, Fesle had no doubt about it. "I was actually up an hour before all that hit the fan," Ghost admitted, "I was analyzing the situation and wondering how to escape. If you guys would have just left me alone, I would have bolted, but someone never left my side, like a flea." Ghost looks at Sarah, knowing that things would have been so different if Sarah would have just moved away from her body.

"Analyzing the situation?" Fesle questions specifically, receiving a nod from Ghost. "Hearing the tones in you guy's voices, how you all communicated with one another- everything that could give me info. For you, I already knew that you're not the brightest star in the sky and all I needed to do was shock you- not kill you." Hearing it come from Ghost, it started to make sense. It's not a fatal attack whatsoever but it was enough for Fesle to yelp bloody murder and fall to the ground. "If I would have depended on my instincts, I could have chases after you."

"But you don't, and that's what makes you weak and vulnerable." Though it in in fact an insult, it is the truth and Fesle knows it. That's all Fesle needed to know before her lips sealed and looked down at the ground. I really am the most vulnerable one, am I? The thought of beinging this pack down, or causing them to get into danger, makes Fesle's stomach tie up in a knot. The last thing she wants to be is a burden on the only pack she's known, be a weak link to Maxwell. Fesle grabs the viles in her hands and quietly thanks her before standing up and walk back to Maxwell. No words are said as she sits down beside Maxwell's form, letting his fur start to warm up her side as she drinks them one by one. It feels like she's gulping rocks instead of liquid, feeling hard to shove down her emotions.

Eventually, Fesle lays down beside Maxwell, having her back against his side and trying to focus more of his scent than her thoughts. But it's hard, extremely, because that's when her thoughts are always the most damaging is when it's at night. When the world is quiet and there's nothing to distract her from them. Taking constant deep breaths, she tries to go to sleep but can't deny how cold she feels. The heat Max gives off radiates onto her back nicely, but her front side feels the breeze that goes through the open window. Folded arms still don't prevent her from shivering. She deals with this for a few minutes until a random patch of fur blocks the wind from hitting the front of her body. Smelling that strong smell of wine, she opens her eyes to see nothing but white fur. At first she's speechless, mostly due to not wanting to wake others up anything, but it's nice to have the end of Ghost's bottom of her form at her side. Her body is finally able to start heating up and she feels safe enough to fall asleep.

Sarah and Maxwell had paid the most attention to what was going on between Felse and Ghost. Sarah had turned her head as soon as she heard the growling, having paused as she was tending to the other woman. She could only offer up an innocent smile to Ghost before turning back to what she had been doing. She had intended to keep Felse right there until she finished the viles, but had allowed her instead to move away. Instead, she had grabbed something to use as a pillow and laid down to try and sleep. It hadn't taken her that long, still exhausted from her body healing and all their traveling, though she had slept through most of it.

Because they were in a different area, unable to shift safely and without a fire to help keep warm, a sleep pile seemed to occur naturally. The siblings, of course were naturally drawn to each other, and with Felse and Ghost now apart of it, it led to Sarah, who always found a way to drape herself over her brothers, was now draped across not just them, but over Felse too as she stretched out to be closer to Ghost. She had been right, she had stayed close to her when they found her and she was still trying to stay close in her sleep. So she had ended up with her face buried deep into white fur, one arm around her as she tried to hug her closer.

As usual when morning arrived, Max was the first one up and faced with a new problem. He couldn't just get up and make his way out from under his sister like he usually did, he now how to slip out from under how she was stretched across him and away from both Felse and Lucas without waking them up. He didn't know when he had stretched out, or when he had ended up stuck in a sandwich of a sleep pile. With no way to get up without waking anyone, he pushed up to his feet, causing Sarah to roll off of everyone with an audible grunt and groan of pain. He mumbled an apology as he shifted to human and made his way out of the open door of the room to go an inspect the bathroom downstairs that had been too dark the night before to look at. It wasn't in the best shape, and clearly needed a deep cleaning. But it had running water from rusted pipes. After relieving himself, he went up to check on his pack.

Lucas was digging through the duffle for a cleaner shirt to wear, yawning as he also took a look to see if maybe they were lucky enough to have any little scraps of deer to snack on that would tide them over until they could find something to hunt. If there was even anything too hunt to eat, he had a distinct fear that Ghost was right the day before when she said it would only be pets. Or possibly birds. Maybe they could get lucky and pick off a farm animal, a cow or something. "We should find out what's out back." he said when his brother returned, standing up to change his shirt so that if the girls wanted, they could have the bathroom.

Sarah, surprisingly, hadn't woken up just yet.

Fesle sleeps soundly throughout the not, not knowing that she had been draped by her pack members as she went to sleep. Ghost and Max were enough to keep her from shivering, but once Sarah had pitched in, her body barely moved as it gained its rightful rest. Barely making a peep, Fesle doesn't wake up until Maxwell and Lucas start shuffling around. They were both quiet, but Fesle is so used to waking up in such caution, having slept in the forest by herself. In a way, she jerks up after hearing Sarah's thud on the floor, her fists tight as she was ready to defend herself if needed. After only being met with Lucas in his normal calm state, the birds chirping through the window and the cold breeze greeting her once again; she relaxes and slowly gets up.

It's not until her feet are back on the wooden floor does she remember that she accidentally slept in her dress. Maybe that's why you were so cold in the first place. Having been in a dress for the first time in years, Fesle didn't want to take it off but knew that anything could happen today. Yesterday was slightly predictable, but a new day awaits for them and the universe is quite mysterious. With a defeated sigh, she makes a way toward her bookbag before crouching to get some clothes. Shuffling through her stuff, she grabs her hygiene and starts to go downstairs. Hearing the toilet flush brings a relieving smile to Fesle's face because she better go before anyone else starts moving around. "Good morning." Fesle says quietly toward Maxwell, having a smile that still expressed that she's still in the process of waking up. In her arms is the denim jacket that she hasn't worn since that day. The campfire smell still on it but not as evident as before.

Hearing the thud causes Ghost to startle awake as well, not to mention the pressure that has been around her body was gone. Furry ears perk up in different directions to try to sense if anything was near. Having the only sound have been the grunts of Sarah, Ghost huffs air out from her snout, vapor emitting in the cold. It'll warm up eventually, so Ghost goes ahead and shifts back into her human form to get the chill out of the way. Goosebumps raise on her arms as she tugs her sweater sleeves down to cover herself. Trying to keep quiet so Sarah could sleep, Ghost makes her way down the stairs long after Fesle had. The urge to toss an insult towards Maxwell had to be fought as she simply went out the door.

There wasn't a destination she had in mind, nor did she have the need to explore this boring town. Just leaning against the wall of the building while people watching sufficed for now. Cars were more active and even busy on this main road they were on. What seemed like a ghost town now was alive with people wide awake in their shops and walking the streets. The population have accustomed to the state of living, even to the point that the rundown buildings don't appear to exist for them. Ghost never makes eye contact with anyone, only watching the police officers down the street. They were close to a police department and she didn't know if they took things seriously or treated every day with the same bored expression.

Maxwell and Lucas carefully and slowly explored the back, being cautious as they looked about for anything of use and for something to cover that front window.

Max was in a spot and area that was over grown, near the back of building that lead out into the open when he heard growling, a deep menacing growl that had the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Leaping up onto the nearest thing, which was a large truck long gone from its last use and he turned to see what was growling at him, causing a heavy sigh to come out of him as he found out why he had thought the area was so dangerous. A protective mother coyote had chosen the back area as a place to birth and raise her pups. Which meant that the back area wasn't a place for them. Grumbling, and knowing she could get to him if she really wanted too, he made his way back towards the door, jumping from the top of one thing to the next as he tried hard not to slip and fall off. He had to make gestures for Lucas to get back to the door, but his brother largely ignored him, dragging a large sheet of decaying wood as he went.

Lucas had heard the warning growl, had heard the warnings that were being given to his brother and he could hear him hopping from thing to thing, but he had just found a great bit of wood that could be broken or cut down to cover that front window to better hide them, so he ignored Max entirely as he took of hold of the rotten and slightly decaying bit of wood to tug it hard towards the door they had walked out of. He wasn't sure about just picking it up and carrying it, because he didn't want to drop it and harm the mother, so he kept moving and dragging it, watching carefully for that protective mother because they all knew the damage a threatened mother could do when she was protecting her pups. Especially, from the sound of their cries, they were small young things yet.

Together, the brothers finally managed to get the board of wood in through the door together, rushing to get the door closed and locked to allow that mother to keep that space all to herself. They'd have to tell the others, because what was going to be there way to get in and out of the building without being caught by the public, wasn't open to them anymore. It was too much of a risk.

Sarah didn't sleep for very long after she had been left alone in the cold of the room, though she was left with things to keep her warm, it was like she knew that no one else was around and she sat up a little too quick. Whimpering softly at the pain in her side, she had to focus on breathing slow and that she got enough air before she was struggling up to her feet. Pain radiated down the back of her thigh that she ignored as she ventured out of the room, she could hear what sounded like movement in different areas, but she ignored them all as she focused instead of following Ghost's scent. It led her to the front as she leaned out the window she had climbed through the night before, taking a look around before she spotted her. She opened her mouth to call out to her and instead fell quiet when she took notice of what she was looking at. Falling quiet, Sarah carefully opened the door and stepped out before going to lean against the wall beside the other woman. "This town has more than last night showed." she said, folding her arms and pulling her sweater tighter around herself as best as she could. "Does this make it harder, or easier to hide?" she asked softly, shifting a little closer to Ghost when the Police appeared to look their way. She didn't have too many pleasant experience's with the law. But that came with the traveling lifestyle.

Back inside with the door locked, the board off to the side to possibly try and use later on, Max headed off to try and find where the rest of the pack was, determined to locate Felse first he head for the bathroom door, unsure how much time had passed at all, his knuckles rapped lightly on the door and he waited for a response as he cast a look up the stairs to the room they had all been staying in.

Lucas, has strayed towards the window to peek out of it, watching some of the people go by from where he was hiding in the shadows. A frown creased his brow because more people was both good and bad. Good to blend, bad because someone was going to notice they were staying in the building sooner or later.

Brushing the mouth that hadn’t seen toothpaste from a few bloody meals, Fesle could hear some rumbling of objects and growling. A hint of concern hits her as she stops brushing, looking toward the closed bathroom door with the toothbrush sticking out of her mouth. After a few seconds she doesn’t hear any fighting going on and continues finishing her hygiene routine.

After deodorant she puts back on her regular clothes. Stripping herself of the dress is a slow action, not wanting to even take it off. The flexibility and softness of it makes it feel like she can do anything. Though the weather and the future actions she’ll be doing, she’d wear it everyday if she could. Common sense once again beats comfort.

Having had no clothes on, hearing a knock on the door instantly covers her body. “I’m sorry Max, almost done.” Saying softly, knowing it wasn’t him by how evident his smell is behind the doorway. “Is everything alright, I heard growling

She puts on of the items of clothing she got from the thrift shop, a long sleeve shirt. It’s white but holds thick stripes of orange, maroon, gray, and ivory. It’s thick enough for now chilly winds for now but she knows she’ll have to switch it out for something thicker when winter comes. Putting on the same jeans and denim jacket as before, she walks out of the bathroom but stops abruptly when Maxwell is in front of her.

The pile of things rests in her arms but the dress stays the most neat, having been folded smoothly before leaving. Looking up at him with a soft smile, she leans her head into his chest, glad to have something so warm and lovely. His smell shoots through her mind faster than caffeine ever could but his heat makes her at peace. “Good morning Lucas.” Having already greeted Maxwell through her gestures, she makes sure Lucas has attention as well. Thinking about Lucas made her mind go to his sister and Ghost.

Ghost sniffs the air as a breeze goes by her and Sarah, her hair lightly dances in it. The want to shiver doesn’t budge her body to move as she looks at the cops. “Humans sleep too Sarah….” Ghost starts but doesn’t seem to finish. Her mouth stays partly open, vapor leaving her lips as something in particular catches her eye. There’s a news board right beside the police station, next to the door.

Unfolding her arms, Ghost hops off the stairs and walks across the street. She didn’t look both ways but the cars have to stop anyway, just glaring at her before zooming off. Things like pedestrian walkways and stop signs don’t matter to her. If she sees a chance to go she’ll go. A honk causes a few cops to look at the street before seeing Ghost walking towards them.

“Good morn-“ “Don’t talk to me.” Ghost destroys a cop’s approach before he could finish it as she brushes past them. Her history with cops haven’t particularly been a downside, much like they’ve done much to stop her family anyway. Their attempts to stop their criminal actions are quite opposite success than the Altamura’s knife piercing their throats. Police stop humans, hunters stop werewolves, so Ghost only sees them as such- vulnerable animals.

Ghost stops in front of the board, shoving her hands in her back pockets. Observing the papers of missing people, upcoming festivals, and past newspapers don’t strike anything interesting to her- only one flyer has. It’s the freshest paper, the scent of human hands still tracing it and is placed at the bottom right of the board. A red pin holds up a reward to take down an “unknown beast, most likely bear”. The picture is in the familiar green colors of night vision of an animal going under a log.

The figure isn’t precisely anything and it could in fact be a bear. But a bear wouldn’t stay in a useless area such as this, especially since it says it’s been seen near restaurants and abandoned buildings. Humans that don’t believe in werewolves often assume it’s some overly sized bear that’s up for game. But hunters know better to believe the ignorance of the law, and so does Ghost. And the fact that there’s already a few phone number tabs ripped off makes Ghost take one too; leaving three left.

Leaning closer at the picture, it’s a crappy one that makes her try to squint at it. “If it’s not dead it will be….idiot.” She says out loud, knowing that Sarah is either close by or looking out for her.

Maxwell smiled because Felse's voice came to him through the door and he was glad that he had been right, that her scent was still there. He was more than glad to wrap his arms around her as she exited the small bathroom, he pressed a kiss into her hair before he softly told her "There's a mother coyote in the back area, got some pretty young pups too. She didn't take too kindly to us poking around in the back, but we got a board we might be able to use over the window." he had wanted to wait until she was there with him before telling her. He didn't need his voice to carry out to the street when it sounded like the town was much more lively than it had been the night before. "Come on, lets get your dress put away before we take a tour of the town." he told her, guiding her to the stairs to let her go up them first, he trailed close behind, watching his feet as one hand stayed on her hip.

Lucas turned to give Felse a smile and a nod when she wished him good morning before his attention was back out the window, he'd leaned just right and could actually see Ghost and Sarah walking away from the building. He was curious as to what was going on, and he tried to keep to the shadows to keep from drawing attention to the building. His attention was drawn away from the street at the sound of the stairs creaking, and turned to look as the pair went up to the room and he crinkled his nose before looking back out the window to wait for them to come back down.

Max kept close to Felse as she put her things away, unable to help himself as he wrapped his arms around her as soon as she stood up. He tugged her close to him and placed a kiss on her cheek as he breathed in her scent. It calmed him, but then he also noticed that his sister was no longer in the room and he let out a soft sigh. "Come on, we should go and check on the pack. I believe we're missing two members." he told her, stealing a kiss before he was offering her his arm. He had hope that trouble wasn't being caused as he left the room at the top of the stairs with Felse. "I think our things should be safe here... As long as no one sees us leaving this room, it should be okay to leave the bags here." he said, pulling the door closed behind them before they were descending the stairs. He walked with her over to the door and paused, taking in the Lucas was watching everyone outside the door. "Tell us when its safe to open the door, we'll go out one at a time." he decided, glancing at the woman at his side to make sure she agreed with him before nodding to his brother.

Lucas let out a heavy puff of breath when they came back down and it seemed like they were all going to go out into the heavily populated town. He glanced at the pair and waited as he was given some instruction on what to do, which he was okay with. "There are badges in this town." he told them, before he was very carefully looking about before telling them that it was safe for one of them to move out. He waited for a moment before doing it again, so they were both out of the door, and then he went to lean on the wall by the door, the quick and brief knock let him slip out quickly and soon all three of them were standing there, out of the path of all the people walking past and he had to blink several times before he let out a soft growl "So much for this small town not being busy... How is this small town so busy, I thought most of these buildings were run down."

"Agreed... Come on, let's see if we can find where to buy food or where we can safely hunt." Max said, offering his arm to Felse once again, smiling warmly at her. He could see where the other two were standing down the street and could see that they were safe at the least, though they were standing by an information board that they often tried to avoid, those were a magnet for hunters and their targets.

"Well it didn't look like there should be this many people asleep in this town." Sarah quipped back when Ghost told her that humans had to sleep too, she knew that and it irked her a little that the other woman said it in a way as if she hadn't. "Hey." she was quickly saying softly as the other woman was suddenly heading off across the street and she hurried after her, cringing at the sound of the brakes straining and the loud call of the horn. She did her best to ignore it as she hurried after the blonde. She fell into step behind her, only just far enough she wasn't going to step on her or trip her as she seemed determined to head straight for something. When she realized what it was, her step faltered slightly. But she plastered on a smile for the badges "Sorry, hasn't had her coffee yet." she told them, because it was what other humans said to each other and seemed to give them enough of a pass before she was dropping her smile before moving to stand shoulder to shoulder with the other woman.

Sarah's eyes track Ghost's, taking only a moment to realize which flyer she's drawn too, is the one with the fresh scent of torn paper, and human hands. She studies the picture more than she studies its words, not that she can't read, but because she knows the other woman is reading it. She reaches out to snag the little red pin and pull it, catching the sheet before glancing to her side to make sure the police weren't watching before tucking it into the thickness of the layers she's wearing. Two sweaters still from the day before. "If it's not already dead, then maybe we should find it ourselves. Money or not, probably needs help... Those were wolf ears." she said, patting the spot of her sweaters where she'd stuffed the sheet of paper, it gave a soft crumpled sound of protest at being touched. Standing there, looking at the other woman, she took her in for a moment before a frown creased her brow and she worried her bottom lip between her teeth for a moment before she asked "Can I fix your hair? Or at least tame it some? You've got leaves and twigs in it." she told her, standing there looking at her and taking everything about her in. She wanted to do more, wanted to reach out and take her hand, but she held back, her hands going into her pockets the most obvious sign that she was trying to hold back.

"I can do it while you make that phone call, if you want." she added, deciding it was a fair enough compromise as she cast a look about for a pay phone, wondering if the one in the town still worked. She would have given the one back that led her to Ghost, but Sarah had long since dropped it back at the military base and was scared to admit it to the other woman. Not seeing a phone, but noticing that the rest of the pack was outside as well, Sarah decided that she wanted to keep Ghost all to herself for a while longer. "Let's go this way." she said, moving around the blonde as she kept herself from grabbing hold of her as she walked around her away from the pack and taking the first sharp right turn that was available to her with the hope the other was following or she was going to be left vulnerable if any hunters were around. Especially still injured and healing.

"I hope she has food, maybe we should give her some." Fesle already thinks about the care of the poor thing, shoving the nasty growl to the back of her head. "Having pups this close to winter could be a challenge for her." she says as she makes her way toward the stairs. Having Maxwell's hand on her hip wasn't necessary for her to get up there, but she's grateful that he cares so much as they walk up these creaking stairs. At the sight of her bookbag, she's glad that Maxwell doesn't have to carry it around like yesterday. The weight probably doesn't impact him but she can't wait for her wound to heal so that he doesn't have to deal with her stuff anymore.

Crouching down, she places the hygiene in their usual spots, on the sides so that they don't tip over. She had to learn the hard way that they can spill if they're laid over all day long, the faint scents on this bookbag is gospel of her lesson. Putting the dress on top is the best way to prevent wrinkles as she zips it up. "You're right, I don't think anyone has particular interest in-" standing up, she barely finishes her sentence as Maxwell pecks her lips. He earns a light smack across his shoulder as a bashful grin plasters on her face, "I thought I told you stealing is rude." it's hard to sound scolding when she's embarrassed. Telling him that she'll return his kisses is a hard promise to live up to considering how she's never been in a relationship before. She doesn't know what things feel "right" as humans say and doesn't know if following these instincts is the right path or not.

As she follows him down it seems that Maxwell is right and that the only other two women are gone. They were just there a moment ago, I can't see Sarah wondering off for no reason...Ghost surely has something to do with her walking away and with that Fesle takes a step outside once she's given the okay to. The morning gust of wind hits her face and though it is chilly she's grateful to have her denim jacket back on to provide warmth. Almost beats the odd river smoke smell it still has. Observing the people, Fesle can't help but to respond to Lucas' question. "Not everyone can live in luxury of decent housing." Fesle says with a saddened tone because she's had to live in those conditions as well. "I still remember the days when my human family could barely afford clothes, let alone house bills." Thinking of those memories makes her hold Max's arm, finding comfort and shelter in the fact that he's here.

"Hunters like to hunt this early in the morning, we shouldn't have too much trouble getting some food." Fesle says, the cops weren't the first time she's been chased. Learning a somewhat schedule of their hunting schedule had made things slightly easier for her. "Do you think we should settle with playing it safe and buying meat at the market?" she asks, just letting that be an option because she has the money for it. Perhaps in this town they have clean deer meat for sale since this town is so advent about hunting.

Watching Sarah take the paper, she couldn't help but crinkle her nose at the effort Sarah was making to try to save another werewolf. "Why should we try to help? If anything he could be used a distract-" stopping herself mid-sentence, she has to stop talking like an Altamura and start at least faking some humanity. "Already got two people injured, why should we try to risk it for an obvious fool?" she asks, taking a step back and crossing her arms. In a way she was block the police from looking at Sarah so that they wouldn't see the paper missing.

When Sarah offered to help her physical composure, Ghost tilts her head before lifting her hand up to run her fingers through her hair. It makes her bangs fall on her forehead, regretfully, but does feel a small twig around her ear. How it got in there she has no clue, especially since she washed it before they went onto the bus. The old building has been the only place they've been. Flicking it out her hair, she bends over and ruffles her hair. A few small twigs and bush leaves fall onto the ground, picking through tangles to makes her hair look less like she's been in a struggle. Flipping her hair back, she does appreciate that Sarah is catching on to not obsessively touch her and does respond with a light-harden tease, "If my hair is bad, you should smell your breath." she comments.

Looking over the the phone station, Ghost shakes her head, "I don't need it now, I'll terrorize them later." The very reason why she took the phone number in the first place was to maybe make the hunters go one direction and out of their hair. At least she'd rather tell Sarah that than her true intentions, which would to maybe tell the hunters where the werewolf is, give them their prey, and the pack be on their way. It's easy for Sarah to follow her mate instincts towards Ghost when she doesn't know who she truly is.

In the corner of her eye the pack seems to go going off to look for something but Sarah goes a different direction. "Where are we going?" Ghost asks, automatically attaching herself to Sarah's destination- like it was an option.

"I don't actually know." Sarah said, glancing over her shoulder to look at Ghost with a smile, glad that the other woman was following her because she wasn't so sure that she would have been able to keep going in the direction she was if the other hadn't joined her. "But the rest of the pack went the other way, so we'll go this way. They can keep searching for whatever is they're looking for, and we can cause a bit of trouble." she says with this mischievous little grin, giving Ghost a wink as she keeps leading the way. Sarah had always been a little bit of trouble and being with Ghost was starting to bring it out a little more. The town was a little bigger than any of them had guessed it the night before and she walked along before spotting what looked like a side path and heading towards it. She didn't need to check to know that Ghost was right there with her, the other woman's scent and presence was just something that Sarah felt and knew that the other was there. She just kept going until she noticed that there wasn't really a lot of places to go the way that they were heading, and she growled before turning down the nearest path, a narrow alley that lead them into the yards and back areas of the homes and businesses. Sarah was sure that Ghost was right behind her, so she made her way through someone's yard, where she noticed that they didn't just have clothes out to dry, they had a smoker going.

"Ooh, don't mind if I do." she said, walking towards the large machine, freezing for a moment when it sounded like someone was approaching but when no one showed up, she kept going, snagging one of the men's shirts off of the line that looked in line with Lucas' size. The shirt went over a shoulder and she snuck closer to the smoker, where she rose up on her toes to take a better peek around and make sure that no one was coming before she was reaching out to open the door. She leaned back as a plume of smoke escaped and she grinned "Oh, good, they haven't been in here long." she added, reaching out to snag the largest bit of meat from the bottom rack, it was not yet hot but smelt faintly of smoke as she pulled it in close and turned to gesture for Ghost to something before a voice shouted at them from the house "Hey! What are you girls doing!?"

"Sh- Run!" Sarah said, pushing through the pain that went down the back of her leg, and coursed through her ribs as she leapt over a short fence in one bound and started to run down the alley, weaving easily into another yard to get around the house and into the street to find their way back to the abandoned building they were staying in. She was slowing down as the adrenaline very quickly wore off and the pain in her still healing wounds made itself known. So she until she was sure that the human wasn't behind them, and staying out of sight as best she could, she glanced to Ghost while leaning heavily against a wall. "That was fun..." she panted, screwing her eyes tight shut a moment later at the pain in her rib. When it subsided, she looked back to the other and smiled as she asked "Do you want to eat now, or later?"

Max couldn't help it as he kept Felse close while they walked down the sidewalk, he was faintly aware of the fact that his sister appeared to fully avoid them with Ghost. He rolled his eyes but kept going as they headed towards what appeared to be the heart of the town and shopping. "You're right by the way, that we should bring something back for the mother. Maybe she'll let us use the back door if we keep her and her pups fed." he said softly to her, glancing over his shoulder at his brother. Then a moment later, he turned his head to steal a quick kiss from Felse "But I will never tire of stealing from you." he added softly, winking at her because he knew she didn't exactly like him doing that. But it was great fun for him to do so, because it was adorable how flustered she got, how she would sometimes hit him lightly. "Let's see what we can find, this place doesn't look safe enough to hunt around." he added, turning his head to watch a truck drive past that clearly belonged to a man who hunted. But it was so hard to tell the regular hunters, from the hunters who went after their kind.

Lucas was trailing after the Alpha pair, watching them before he was rolling his eyes when his brother looked back at him and he turned his head away to give them a moment. Like he wasn't meant to know, like he wasn't meant to realize that they were becoming closer. He looked back to them, tracking the truck that drove past the same as his brother before he made to follow them into the grocery. But he stopped, scenting the air. He had thought he caught something in the air, but there were too many humans around for him to pick up on it, so he shook his head and hurried into the grocery, following the scent of pine and the lighter scent of his brother of cold, fresh fallen snow. He tracked them easily, they hadn't gone very far into the building.

"What can we afford?" Max was asking, picking up a basket. He held it to the side as his arm moved to wrap around Felse's shoulders to hold her to his side as they walked slowly inside, heading for the meat section first. It was habit as a wolf, to go for the meat first. As they were browsing, Max crinkled his nose "I might have to risk a hunt." he whispered into Felse's hair by her ear, pressing a light kiss to her head. Everything was priced a little too high for his liking, unaware that it was actually priced fair because of the hunters in the town. "You decide what we need." he told Felse softly, removing his arm from around her shoulders and offering her his hand instead. As they went through the store, any time she picked something, he held out the basket for her to place the item inside, trusting her to know how much money they had and to know what their pack needed.

Lucas, kept drawing attention to himself as he wandered off from time to time, the staff of the store kept calling him out for trying to steal. It got to the point he wouldn't stray far from the other two. He wasn't as smooth at thievery without a distraction, so he stopped trying. But he was obviously drawn to the stuff humans labeled as junk food. He kept picking up items not at all good for a wolf, looking them over and then putting them back with exaggerated movements since his many failed theft attempts had him being watched. When they were finally leaving, it was obvious to everyone that he put a bag of chips into the basket. He just gave the biggest grin as Max glared at him.

Ghost raises a brow at Sarah's naïve behavior when it comes to directions, almost makes her wonder how Sarah has been alive this far. But from the wounds on her, along with the attack she didn't counter from Ghost, it's possible that it's been luck. I wonder how long she would last if she didn't have her siblings...The thought made her ponder on what it would be like to depend on blood that much. It's common among werewolves to depend on their pack and go to the length that no matter who is in you pack- even if not blood- is your family. She wasn't taught to depend on anyone, not even her own father, for saving. It's been quite noticing to Ghost that Sarah depends on Ghost for protection and she wants to do the same but can't- at least not now. Years of training can't go away over a simple mate bond- right?

"Trouble?" Ghost repeats, almost not believing the words to even leave those pretty lips. "What's a small brat like you know about that? You've scared an elderly person or something in the past and you think you're bad now?" she jokes in a mocking tone. Stealing is something they're used to doing but honestly every werewolf has done it at some point. They'll get money as best as they can but it's not like they want to work a nine to five since stealing can solve their problems in seconds. Curious, Ghost simply follows behind Sarah and sees where she'll take them. Not expecting too much drama to happen, she follows with a sort of mellow atmosphere with hands in her pockets and occasional whistling. Seeing Sarah growl in frustration makes Ghost chuckle, enjoying the sight, it's as if Sarah is trying to prove something.

For a moment she was about to pipe up and ask if she should take the lead, but Sarah bolts into a different direction and over a small fence. Not the tall wooden fences Ghost is used to climbing over, more like one that keeps in those small poodles. It's black bars that are spaced out enough to give a small dog a rough time if they ever decide to escape. Her hands finally leave her pockets just to put one on the fence as she takes one leg over it. She can imagine the look on Fesle's face if she were here to see Sarah stealing clothes and food, probably blowing some sort of fuse. While this would be extreme for Fesle, this is more like child's play for Ghost, though to be fair, Ghost's type of trouble has been rather......damning.

After smelling her surroundings to check for anyone nearby, it's safe for Ghost to simply watch Sarah. How easily she takes what she wants without permission or forgiveness brings a small smile to Ghost's face. She knows that because it's Sarah, it's almost like she's watching art. No theatre performance or show could outmatch the light in those orbs of hers'. There's not a woman on this earth that could as beautiful as Sarah speaks- that's coming from a lot of opera background as well. Not caring about the garden she's walking over, she makes her way toward Sarah but stops when something in particular hangs on the line. The black lace of it's lingerie is hard to ignore as Ghost reaches up to grab it.

Delicate fingers quickly snag the clothes once another new voice rings in her ears. On instinct to protect Sarah, she lets her have a head start as Ghost picks up one of the tools on the grill. It looks to be a mini pitchfork, used to stick into the meat to flip it, it's the lightest tool by the smoker and as long as it's light, Ghost can throw it. Making sure Sarah is over the fence and running away, Ghost closes one eye and in a quick reflex throws it toward the woman. She's really glad that Sarah has already ran away because the tool landed right into the woman's chest. Ghost made it to where she didn't throw it at a fatal artery or anywhere that could cause too much damage, but it's enough for Ghost to run away without ease.

Jumping over the fence, she runs after Sarah by following her scent. The urge to cuss is shoved down and she prays to whatever deity exists that Sarah didn't witness what Ghost just did. It's reflexes...no...instinct at this point to respond that way, respond in a way where you can't trust anyone; since Sarah has been brought into the picture, it's almost as if that's multiplied too. If Ghost's not careful about her protective side, she might kill somebody if they just happen to grab Sarah the wrong way. Catching eye of Sarah after turning a corner, she runs faster to get by her side, not particularly hard since Sarah's mobility isn't at its peak. Ghost makes the decision to pull Sarah into a random side alley so that they're out of sight; also to get Sarah some rest. At some point in the run, Sarah's limp became more obvious and Ghost had to do something.

Ghost rests her hands against the wall, almost blocking Sarah from escaping since Ghost has her, in a way, pinned. The burning feeling of her palms scratching the brick wall doesn't compare to the burning in her silver eyes. The same eyes that saw blood leave that woman's body, an innocent human, remind Ghost yet again of the truth she hides from Sarah. It's inescapable, worthless trying, to escape from what will eventually be known to Sarah. Still, a foolish thought in Ghost's mind makes her want to believe that Sarah never has to know. It'll be safer for her and her pack for them not to know of the Altamuras.

Realizing that her cold stare was bearing into Sarah's eyes, it makes her snap out of it and pretends that that deathly glare never happened. "Fun? The only thing fun was watching you run away like a chicken with its head cut off." Ghost mumbles, trying to put her joking, calm demeanor back on but it's hard. The want to protect Sarah is still so evident to the point that Ghost drags a hand down to Sarah's waist, right below her wound. Not touching her body, just her hand is in the area, though Ghost has an urge to claim it as hers, she keeps the physical distance that they're already breaking. "How about you save your child's play until you can actually run without wincing, hm?" her tone is low and ragged as she leans closer to Sarah. No matter how many times she tells this woman to stop being reckless, it doesn't go Ghost's way. The only thing she can hope for is that the intense stare and tone will make Sarah listen to her- before she has to get physical.

Having Max's lip once again touch hers makes her smack his shoulder once again, this time with a bit more force. "Then-Then I suppose you'll have to get used to me not talking to you too." Fesle replies stubbornly, not liking being taken advantage of. Though it's hard to sound stern with red cheeks and a stuttering tone, she still doesn't let go of Maxwell's arm. Turning her head away from him, she spots the store and lets Max lead them in. A bell gives off their presence and they're greeted by a more welcoming gentleman versus the pharmacy and bus man from Queens. Fesle nods with a smile as they go toward the meat, the plastic wrapping doesn't mask the smell of blood that fills the air. Their meat slicing area must not be too far away either because the blood smells too fresh.

"At least we know that it's exceptionally new." Fesle stays positive despite letting go of Max to crouch down at the meat- specifically the pricings. Suppose because it's so fresh and doesn't have any added chemicals to why it's pricey here- which shocked her in a way. Normally, in such a town as this, there would be bargains, but since there's several options to choose from, this store knows their worth. After all, not like they're going to get much game around here because of the hunters. "I say, for now, we get something just as a snack really, something light." Spotting a particular wrapped package of boar meat, she takes two of them. It won't be enough to make them stuffed, but it'll make due until they know how dangerous this town might be.

"I don't want us to risk hunting in this town until we know what we're up against- hunter wise." Fesle stands up to look up at Max. Her eyes scan for any opinions on her advice, "It would be ridiculous to spend so much money here, but we need to eat something for now rather than going into the woods completely blind." Fesle puts them into the basket and walks to the front. It's when she does take her eyes off her goal of shopping is when she notices there's a lot of things in this store that are sold out. Cheap, common meat like squirrel and dear are mostly gone, leaving Fesle to tilt her head toward the cashier.

As Maxwell gives the basket to the man, Fesle asks, "I don't usually see a store look barren like this, what's the occasion?" Her question makes the man let out a light scoff, giving away that they're not from around here. "I'll fill you in on the town's gossip," the man said as he scans the items, "there's been a big beast around here and we think we got'em this time. A lot of hunters of heading west to trap it, it's the biggest game of the season!" Fesle digs for the money in her pocket as she listens to the man. What kind of game in this town would be so important to leave hunter's pockets empty from buying so much meat from here?

Sarah's breath caught in her throat when she realized that Ghost was leaning close to her, keeping her there pinned against a brick wall. One she knew would be coarse if it wasn't for the layers. Though they're close together, looking up into piercing eyes she can't help but stick her tongue out at her childishly "That was fun, and you know it." she said back to her, her breathing still a little ragged. Reaching up a free hand, she tucked a stray strand of her brown hair behind her ear "I know I still need healing, I'll try to be more careful..." she said, smiling up at her. Though it was mostly a lie, she didn't plan to actually be all that careful because she knew wherever she went and whatever she did, Ghost was going to be right there. Something inside of her just told her that no matter what she did, the other woman was always going to be there. An instinct, a feeling, deep inside that she had trusted and followed right to her.

"Do we need to stay right here, or can we get back to the building we're staying in?" Sarah decided to ask as she tried to reign in her feeling and instinct to lean into the hand near her hip that was pressed into the wall. The one she kept blindly trusting, was going to push the other away if she continued to give into it. So, she didn't lean into that hand even though she wanted that and so much more. She actually had no idea where they were, or even where the building they were staying in was. Had she gone in the right direction? It had felt like the right direction but the back of a building looked far different from the front. And she wasn't even sure she could walk properly after that hobbled run. Adrenaline was long gone, a quick spike that didn't see fit to stick around. So, instead of waiting for an answer, she decided right there, glancing up at into those grey eyes, she set a hand on the wall, unaware that she placed it over Ghost's. Touch was second nature, it was habit. Even though touch between the two like this, was few and far between. "We can go back after." she said, sliding down the wall to sit on the ground with the meat still cradled close. Once she was seated and somewhat comfortable, she held that meat up "Cut this for us?" she asked, looking up at her with a sparkle in her blue eyes. "The other's don't need to know. Besides, I need it a little more." she said, giving her the cutest pout that her fine pink lips could muster.

Max had let out a loud laugh when Felse said that she wasn't going to talk to him. "I highly doubt that. But I'll do my best to stop." he said before opening the door for her to go in first. They easily found their way over to the meat, it was hard not too when the blood smell was so fresh and pungent. It smelt like there was even more. He ended up letting out a soft sigh and nodding at her words. "Hunting here seems dangerous." he agreed softly as she put some meat into the basket in his hand. He didn't like that they were buying something so pricey, because it meant that they were going to end up buying so little for the number of mouths that they had to feed. He hated that he didn't even know if he could run out into the woods and hunt for their food like he wanted too. They were stuck, and there seemed to be a lot of things missing, he took notice as Felse did while they were making their way to the till. Even the cheap bag of chips didn't seem like something that they should get as he shot a glare at his brother. But he didn't have the heart to pull it out of the basket as he set it down to take their small amount of items out. The information provided then, as Felse asked a simple question, gave Max a moments pause as he put the basket out of the way on the floor.

"Beast, huh? Is there a reward?" Max asked, a deep sense of dread filling him as he moved closer to slip his arm around Felse. Under the guise of pressing a kiss to her hair, he whispered "It could be one of us." He took the bag after she paid, thanking the teller and waiting until they were outside before tossing Lucas the bag of chips he'd put in the basket. "We need to find out how many in this town are trying to hunt down this beast." he added, cringing when the loud ringing of an emergency siren hit his ears. He shuddered and growled softly under his breath about the sound being useless when they had flashing lights. Not that they could see either the lights or the vehicle. "We need to get back to the building and divide the meat while leaving some for the mother in the back." he said, his arm still firmly around Felse's shoulder to keep her against his side.

Lucas followed after Max and Felse as they made their way to the till and tried to find ways to distract himself as he waited for them to make their way through before he was turning his head and tilting it as he listened to them talk. He just picked up what his brother was barely whispering, and he wondered where this so called beast was. Where the wolf, if it was one, could be hiding. He was still trailing after them, but he stopped inside of the doors of the grocery to look at a hastily put up cork board. It was crooked. But it had a couple of flyers, devoid of any numbers but that wasn't what had his attention, it was the photo from one of those camera things hunters liked to use. He tugged one of the papers free and rushed out after his pack, just catching the chips that were tossed his way. Lucas had wanted to eat them right away, but he was now tucking it into a pocket of his sweater as he kept looking all around him to watch the humans and what they were doing.

It was a little easy for Lucas to find and figure out which ones were the hunters, thanks to the way their parents had trained them, and he tracked their movements as he followed his pack. But he soon jumped and his hands flew to cover his ears for a moment when the siren sounded, groaning and growling before he was ducking his head as humans looked at him like he was crazy. He kept to himself, wondering if there was any way to find and save this other wolf, but knowing he couldn't do it alone. There was no way he was going to be as reckless as his sister had been, or as forward as his brother. Looking to the paper he had snagged, and accidentally crushed to his head, he read it as he walked behind them, frowning. Alley ways... He knew exactly what he wanted to try and do that night, if his face was healed enough to allow him to shift. It hadn't been deep, and only a few days out he was sure it was fine.

Noticing Sarah's widened eyes and unbreathing lips didn't go over Ghost's head, if anything, she smirks at how off-guarded she is. Such a woman that craves independence and demands respect- who knew could be hindered by Ghost alone? Is it the way their chests move so close together, how their eyes express their emotions with fault, or maybe it's these instincts are more than just crazy emotions as Ghost previously stated. If there were just emotions, Ghost would be able to hide them- like all her other ones- dealing with the aftermath of bottling them up some other time.

She tried to bottle these up, just like previous times, but it's much more difficult. It's the way Sarah smells, her delicate blue eyes, and how loyal she has been to Ghost that causes so much difficulty. Staring into those eyes is just like staring into an ocean, one that she could easily fall and drown in, but would it even be painful? Would her lungs ache worse than her hiding her past, feeling as if she's lying to Sarah every second. Or would it be reverse and instead be fresh air to just dive in? The thoughts swirling around her head seems more like a current than flies of annoyance, everything is becoming blue to her. Blue waters splashing at the coated red hands as one lays on top of hers.

Ghost hadn't been responding to Sarah due to her thinking and unbeknownst to her that she had lean closer to Sarah when contact was made. Her hands were cold and Ghost wanted to warm her, no, she wanted to warm all of her. Her chest quickened in breathing but her breath began to be shallow, imaginations in her mind had began to shift into a different direction before Sarah leaned down onto the floor. Having answered her own question, Ghost slowly releases the brick wall once Sarah isn't between her arms any longer. It feels useless to and she tries to get a grip once she notices the state of silence and bewilderment she caused.

Several grunts leave her throat to clear up the lump that had formed before looking down that the meat that was being handed to her. Taking it, she looks down at the small prize they won for doing illegal acts, well Ghost was just a tad bit more illegal. The knife is pulled from her shorts as she crouches in front of Sarah. One hand holds the meat hanging as the other slices the meat with the blade. Even with blood on it the Italian letters are still able to be red. The meat hangs over Sarah hands so that she can catch her portion. This would be easier with a table or if Ghost put it on the ground but she's not going to tarnish it after they went through all the trouble of getting it.

Once the meat falls into Sarah's hands, Ghost sits down beside her, seating to the entrance of the alleyway to be a look out for anyone searching for them. Before she begins to chomp, a siren is heard in the distance, rather than it being a police alert- like she had been waiting for- it's instead one that's familiar to her. One of hunters. The siren is different from the authorities for legal purposes and is in fact lower pitch with with a bell in there. Knowing it's not going towards their direction, Ghost begins in eating her small breakfast. Not that she's complaining, it's far better than being force fed whatever was as the military.

Finishing her meal, she's reminded of what they were doing to her and licks her hands clean of blood and grease before lifting up her sweater. Seeing her toned stomach still have red dots from all the needles makes Ghost's eyes turn cold. If only she could get her hands on the man that did this to her, or rather the person who ended up killing her family members back in the train station. But why should she try to avenge them? Not like they would do the same for her if the roles were reversed. Her sigh is less of one of irritation and more of....tired of something and her head leans against the brick wall. In a way, her eyes looks at Sarah to get some form of comfort, which shocked her.

"I think the reward is still being decided, the news came out a few days ago, but I've heard it might be a big one." Speaking about the hunt as if it's some game makes Fesle hug her own arms. To most humans, if an animal does wrong then their emotions don't matter, wait, not just with animals but with humans as well. Once bad actions occur there's no sympathy or stepping into anyone's shoes. Hearing Max's sly comment, she knows that Max is thinking the same thing she is. Thanking the man, Fesle follows behind Max, watching Lucas in empathy as the sirens hurt Lucas. A hand falls onto Lucas' shoulder, being in the city has made her not pay much attention to the loud calls of vehicles. Though it does leave her ears ringing in the end.

Fesle looks from Lucas to Maxwell, "How do we find out something as that? Or perhaps, shouldn't we just go out and try to find this wolf?" Hesitantly, she picks up her pace to be beside Maxwell once again. There's pros and cons to both choices, whether waiting until later to find this wolf or going out now, it does leave Fesle to question out loud. "Did you wait to find me when I was being chased?" the question wasn't more or less one accusing Maxwell of anything but it does seem that way. To Fesle, she simply means it as an honest curiosity. What led up to them meeting? How was Maxwell and his siblings in the area for them to save Fesle at the right time?

"Thank you." Sarah said as Ghost cut a fair sized piece off of the huge chunk of meat, it cut so easily and fell into her outstretched waiting hands. The tender meat had been the largest, but it was enough just for the two of them once it had been divided. As her dull human teeth sunk into the meal, watching the blondes every move. She couldn't help it, it was hard not to look at the other woman and take everything about her in every chance she got. Like how in this little spot in some back alley that looked like it had very few ways out, Ghost was sitting defensively and blocking her from possible approach if someone came from the way they had. The fact that she was being protected, if this was her being protected, filled her with a sense of happiness and a full feeling. Making quick work of their earned breakfast, she cleaned the blood off of her own hands before a blush tinged her cheeks.

It wasn't like she was embarrassed, it was just skin. But it was the fact that it was the toned stomach of Ghost, who she was so strongly drawn towards, that made her cheeks tinged pinkish red and she didn't have time to avert her eyes to make it like she wasn't watching because soon Ghost was looking right at her. Sarah gazed back into those gorgeous stormy eyes and she melted, like sitting outside and fully bundled up just hidden away from the water on a raining day. That searching look, seeking a comfort, left Sarah wrapped around her finger and she could only offer her a smile that was quickly becoming reserved for only her. "I can heal those, if you want... If they bother you." She offered in a soft, getting cozy right there with her back pressed into red brick as she tilted her head to rest near her own shoulder. "I might need help getting up though." She added with a smile and a look that said she was just happy to stay right there with her for a while longer. Sarah didn't want her brothers, or Felse to get in the way of just spending time with Ghost. That was all she really wanted, why she kept avoiding their pack. Something inside told Sarah that if she wanted to be closer to Ghost, then they needed to be alone. And that was all she wanted, was to have what her brother did, that ease of touch and closeness the other pair had, she craved.

"Hunters have a way about them, a hidden excitement at the hunt... Like a wolf, chasing down that prey whose been getting away from you for a day or more." Max told her, gesturing vaguely away from them where two men were casually talking but the groceries in the back gave away just what they might be talking about. He scratched at his beard as they kept walking back towards the building that they were staying in, because right now there wasn't much else for them to do other than spend a little more time hidden away from all of the humans. He turned his head to look at Felse and held his arm out for her again because she had moved away "We can't just run off, we would draw too much attention." He said as they kept walking slowly along. Then she was surprising him with a question, it had only been a few days, but he remembered it well. How could he not?

"I didn't really hesitate, no." Max told Felse as he looked at her, pulling her to the side of the sidewalk and turning her so that he could look into the warmth of her eyes. "We heard the chase, we could tell there were so many of them, and we could tell you were going towards the cliff we had been avoiding. We were in those woods for days, alone, and then we weren't." He said, gazing down at her as he brought a hand up to gently cup her cheek, his thumb brushing lightly over it. "I caught your scent on the wind and I didn't wait. I didn't hesitate. And because I didnt, they didnt. I couldn't leave you behind, to face the unknown all alone. I couldn't." He told her, wanting to kiss her then, one hand on her cheek and the other resting lightly on her hip as he kept her close. But she was already a little mad at him from all the times he had stolen kisses, he didn't want to keep pressing his luck.

Lucas offered up a smile as Felse touched his shoulder because it didn't matter how many times he heard it, the sirens still hurt his ears. He half listens to them as they talk, half listens to them until he realizes that he's alone, that they stopped to talk and he huff as he watches them for a moment. He crinkles his nose as he listens to them have a moment before looking back down at the paper in his hand, and all he has is a bag of chips in his pocket. And he said he wouldn't be as reckless as his older sister, wouldn't go charging in like his younger brother had. He said that he was going to do this with the pack and they were going to save this other wolf and be on their way, but he can't. He is alone and he is starving, but this other wolf has been where humans toss cast off food, his hunger can't compare, there is no way.

Swallowing hard, he takes one last look at the Alpha pair, being reminded so much of their parents before this jealousy burns inside of him and he has to turn away before he was stalking off into an alley to try and see if he can't get lucky, to find out if he can't pick up a scent and dogs in back yard bark at him as he gets too close to their fences. But with that paper clutched in his hand, he is a man on a mission and he is seeking out that unique scent with hint of wolf that screams it's one of their kind. He looks at the paper again, changing course as best he can, trying to find where this other wolf has been. He wants to be the hero for a change. Why can't it be his turn? Max and Sarah had their moments. He would take all day if he had too, go into the night when it was the biggest risk. Reaching up, he scratched at before scrubbing the paste off from the night before. The scratch had been minor compared to what his sister got, if it wasn't fully healed, he'd deal with the scar.

Not wanting to go back and feel alone among his own pack, he ventured through a few of the alleys to actually be on his own and try to locate a meal for himself. It was going to be a risk and hard to find such a thing, but he was willing to take the risk because he knew that the little that they had purchased was not going to be enough for five full grown wolves. Whatever creature was around these part, he was sure that he wouldn't run into it during the day. Taking a deep breath, he ventured off towards the edges of town to attempt catching a bird or something small to eat.
