Video Games Final Fantasy 7 Fans!

Tsukiyomi

Adorable Kitsune Goddess
Is there any other Final Fantasy 7 fans? That is an amazing game that I was raised on where growing up. :)

Good stuff, the game was alright, I lost the second disk though so I could never really play through it all the way. My father beat the whole game though. And by whole game I mean EVERYTHING he grinded the sh*t out of it and got everything possible. 7/10 wish I could play the whole game.

-jumps up and down-
Yis!
Tho I am scared that the remake will be full of story changes and errors that it might upset me. =.=

My first and one of my favorites of the franchise, A little excited for the remake, even if i'm a little disappointed it's going to be stuck in development hell for a while since they scrapped what they had done and are re-starting.

I am recently replaying the current steam version of the game because I felt like it and I have to give a nod to Sleepy because I am also waiting waaay to long already for the remake. But there is a saying in germany: Was lange währt wird endlich gut --> What takes a long time will be good... so lets hope for that

Totally, I might whine about it being in dev again but I know how long it takes to work on games and considering it's one of my favorite FF games i'd rather wait and it be good rather than it be rushed and be terrible. I mean, To be perfectly honest I really didn't like how the combat looked from what we saw before it was scrapped but maybe that's just me being an old gal and wanting ATB back;;;

Yeah I know the feeling wanting something NOW because it sounds amazing... buuuuut reality....
It has parts of the original staff on board so the only thing that could fuck this up is greedy publishers but lets not summon the devil here.
Never tried a FFMMO after FF11 sadly

And YES I loved ATB as well! Shame they got rid of it. Thoughts on FF15 on that matter because its totally different?

Agreed!
I'm at least happy that there's original members on the board of the game, I at least hope they don't cut out too much in the story line since I heard there was going to be some plot line changes as well. That's one of my biggest worries. (Fingers crossed for them keeping the Cloud crossdressing scene, thanks)

Also oooh! I never got a chance to play 11 but I play 14 and honestly, it's such a relaxed atmosphere and a ton of fun! If you ever decide to give it a shot lemme know and i'll hit you up with my server and info!

As far as my thoughts on FF15 go i've got a lot of mixed feelings that go in all kinds of directions regarding it.

On one hand, I love all of the characters and I felt the story line and music was super good (as usual, it's final fantasy.)
But on the other hand, I really felt like the combat as clunky and just didn't like it; again, this is coming from someone who felt "open" combat as a little eh- after 12, it worked really well for 12 and maybe we can stretch it to 13 but I felt a little sad that they kept it for the other games. My only other problem really for FF15 is it felt like it had TOO many side quests, Side quests are fun and all but it feels like it'll take me a million years to complete the storyline just because I get so sidetracked by sidequests that don't matter and most of them are so similar to each other.

Other than that I also wish Squeenix didn't nearly hold us hostage to pay for DLC just to get some backrounds on the other characters and find out other stuff involving the plot, that really REALLY disappointed me.

Ignis will always be my husband.

So you felt the same with the cluncky combat. I had friends going on about it being the best (ok I admit they were 8 years younger then me so they did not experience the old ones as I did) which I did not quite understand. I mean yeah It has the most awe inducing scenery (if you ignore the clones in the city....) and storywise it was nice but I more see it as a nice roadtrip for moments after work where I just wanted to relax. And yeah the dlc things wich seem to be everywhere now.
How is 14 from the overall experience?

Congrats on the wedding with Ignis then :D also congrats on the cooking service that comes with him

Also we are derailing the thread ... sorry OP

Finally someone agrees, I also felt it was too glitchy and some glitches just weren't even fixed..Felt kind of lazy on their part. I could forgive the lack of differentiating scenery but I am still mad about the DLC, given, i bought it because I really like the characters but boy did I feel dirty buying it. Like, they should have just come out with a set instead of releasing a small bit, FF15 is Atlus' Persona 4/3, a cashcow.

as far as 14 goes I feel like that would differ from person to person, for me it's a fun and sociable place to make new friends and talk to people. the characters are fun and the quests are the same, They have a decent amount of events that are almost always running and well-- Wasting time in the gold saucer is fun as hell

Apologies to OP.

:3 and as far as I know there is still some dlc planned for this and upcomming year... wheee!

hmm I took a look at it from what was avaliable (lets plays and such) and it seemed to me like a classical MMO like you have seen often and it still had the montly subscription thing going for it so I did not look into it too much after that.

Ah yes Persona! but thats something for a different day!

You wrote somewhere up there, that ff7 is ONE of your favourite. So wich one is the definit favourite?

Haha, We'll save the subject of Persona for when you get your messages unlocked. I'm sure you've hit the post cap, Just gotta wait 24 hours now!

As far as my absolute favorite in the FF franchise goes it's hard to pick. It's between 6 and 7..I can't pick one as they sit on the same pedestal for me, There are different things I like about both some more over the other.

I think I cracked the 10 with this post!

6 I could only witness as a bystander at a friends house back then because for some reasons (parents) I did not have a SNES back then. I have it now to play during commute in the train and I am surprised how few guides you get in comparison to later installments. but its great so far with lots of winking sidejokes.

Its lunchtime here now so I will leave the keyboard and release this thread back to the original question :D

write you no later than when I got my PM privileges!
