    ...

The town of Trouvaille is known far and wide for its beauty and rich history. Blessed with good fortune, the town has lush fields, rich soil, and a flourishing economy. It is nestled against the coastline to the south, mountains to the north, forest to the east, and countryside to the west. Trouvaille has the unique ability of being almost entirely self-sustainable and rarely requires the assistance of neighboring town.

The people who live in Trouvaille often come from a long line of entrepreneurs and hardworking folk. There are farms, ranches, vineyards, a cluster of family-owned shops and restaurants, and much more. Those who are not born in Trouvaille typically move to the town to for a change of scenery and to free themselves from the hardships of their lifestyles. The town, and its people, welcomes any and all with open arms.

In an unfortunate stroke of bad luck, a vicious earthquake wrecked havoc on Trouvaille last season. The town suffered damage to Trouvaille's infrastructure, rendering several of their buildings unusable. Efforts to rebuild are slow due to limited resources and funding. Trouvaille has found itself in the uncomfortable position of being at the mercy of outsiders and nearby villages for aid in these troubling times.

Unbeknownst to the town of Trouvaille, the earthquake has unearthed a mysterious magic that has long been lost and forgotten.

WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY LIKE IN TROUVAILLE?
There will be no internet, cellphones, or computers in town. Trouvaille relies on coal, as well as wind and water for electricity. They travel by horse and carriage. There is a functional plumbing system. It's basically medieval vibes with more of a modern aesthetic.

HOW WILL MAGIC WORK IN THE ROLEPLAY?
Currently, magic has only just been unearthed in town. It has not been "awoken", though. There are tasks that will need to be compete in order for magic to be properly restored. Magic will correlate with elements and aspects of life that are relevant to the roleplay. You will be able to choose what specialty of magic naturally occurs in your character over time. For example, a farmer, archaeologist, or florist can be more attune to earth magic.

WHAT ASPECTS OF THE GAME WILL TRANSFER OVER TO THE ROLEPLAY?
For the sake of ease and simplicity, we will be using the same map and town layout as the game. We will take inspiration from the game's weekly events, but some of the festivals may not be the same. There will be a town ranking system that can be increased and improved upon through posting, with larger boosts from completing questlines in the roleplay. Certain buildings and resources are unavailable until said questlines are complete. We will also acknowledge what natural resources and items are available by season and use said items for likes, loves, etc. We are also following the seasons, wedks, and years mechanic. No months.

HOW WILL QUESTLINES WORK IN THE ROLEPLAY?
Specific character roles and overall cast collaboration will be necessary to complete certain questlines. For example, in order to repair a bridge the blacksmith role will be required to participate. Funding for projects will also be required and may have a minimum requirement of five or ten townspeople donating in order to move forward. Questlines will also have a duration attached to them, meaning the bridge's requirements may be fulfilled but it will still take a week IC in order to complete the project. In the meantime, the blacksmith can not participate in other building questlines. Some questlines will be more interactive, while others are occurring more so in the background.

thank you for the interest!!!! app coding is ready. just waiting to see how many will plan to join!

Interested!

Also, is fields of mistria worth it? I already have stardew valley and it seems very similar.

Everyone I have spoken to says it improves vastly on the Stardew experience. It is still in EA, but the content is great so far and the cast feels more interconnected!

apps are now open! please just be mindful of the roles that are striked out as these are reserved for friends helping with the roleplay. 15 other roles are up for grabs! for those who struggle with code, ctrl + f is your best friend! make sure to be in BBCode mode (buttons for bold, italicize, are disabled) to ensure coding does not break!

Is code required? My brain is too small for it.

Are we able to change the colors in the cs or should we leave it as is?

Sorry for the late response! To answer a few questions:

- Code isn't strictly required, but highly encouraged. The uniformity makes my brain extremely happy.
- That said, feel free to choose your own color scheme.

As a friendly reminder, the roleplay and game takes place in an ambiguously historical European setting with a modern aesthetic blend. Think Baldur's Gate type of city for the capital. Clothing doesn't have to be all corsets and billowy shirts, the game blends the two aesthetics together. Potions, salves, horse and carriages, but plumbing! And electricity! I know, it's contradicting, but the game blends the two worlds so nicely... LMAO

You can kinda see how they blend historical and modern aesthetics in the trailer.
