FFXI - looking for advice/parties thingy. . . ?

After heavy deliberation about such an old game, I decided to go all in and just buy it for the fun and to see where it takes me. A game from the early two thousands, wonderfully low res textures, that lovely sound design that is reminiscent of the era. . . This was going to be fun. And after getting the account setup. . .


My gosh was it fun. Still is fun. An MMO has managed to hold my attention for a whole week, perhaps the biggest step up of all time. My only issue is, no one seems to do the levelling content anymore, it being such a too heavy game now everyone has had years to level. And so, I turn to this community of steadfast roleplayers. . .


If anyone has played the game before and has advice, is currently playing the game, or just maybe wants to come back, little old me is looking for some long time companions to complete the content with. Currently on the Asura server, character by the name of Strand, and GMT timezone. Thanks for reading, and be sure to let me know if you're interested.

I hate to sort of necropost, but I can't really do the whole PM thing yet so...


...my boyfriend plays XI a lot right now, as he used to play for almost the whole life of the game, till XIV came out and he moved on to that - while still moonlighting on XI, initially, till joining my FC and getting in over his head due to how active we were till recently. He's now on Asura as well - and I am too, however I just restarted (my original account would be a nightmare to get back) - and pretty far into the game since he never lost his account, but he's seeking more steady companions as well, and I wouldn't mind more good people to game with there when I get online.


His core goal is to get through all the story first, with everything else being more of a secondary goal - he wants to see what ends up happening to Vana'diel due to the crossover quest that came into XIV. So if you're okay with tooooooooonnes of story quests and instances being done, that's what we're up to with it. The Maiden's Rhapsody had some really heavy implications for XI's fate, and it's just like "Wait, wot?!".


If you could send me a PM, I could give you our character names. We've had a bit of trouble with jerks over being LGBTQQI2SPAA friendly, so while I doubt anyone here would be cruel, I'd rather not have our names publicly accessible after it. =(
