"This experience is critical."
Here, you can audition for the character you'd like to be in the roleplay (including OCs sent to the character sheet thread). I accept RPers based on their ability to be in character, not necessarily their writing skill, so try not to stress too much about that aspect. The current character limit is two canon characters and one OC.
Here are the audition rules:
1. Basic spelling, punctuation, and grammar
We all make mistakes, but this audition should be an example of what it's like to RP with you. Please use quotation marks for dialogue, periods and commas where they need to be, not an excess of punctuation, no run-on sentences, etc. Don't forget to break up your post so it's readable, of course, and any formatting should be used wisely (i.e. don't use bright yellow font for your entire post).
2. Stay in character
Writing characters as OOC can be fun for some and in the right situations, but that situation is not here. I'm trying to gauge how well you stick to the canon character or your OC character sheet, so deviating wildly from it is going to give me the wrong impression. In addition, please don't lean too heavily on any ships in your audition. You don't know if the person RPing that character will ship what you do, so I need to see that you can portray that character without the ship if that is the case.
3. Give a good sample
While two lines is the minimum for the in-RP post length, it's not going to cut it here. I need to see that you can portray the character you want to write as, and something that small isn't enough to showcase that. You don't have to write a set amount, but three to five paragraphs is a good estimate. That aside, your audition can be pre- or post-timeskip. And if you aren't accepted, this is not personal! Your character voice may still be in development or your RP ability may need some refining. We've all been there! A declined audition is an opportunity to improve, nothing more.
4. When You'll Hear Back
Usually, it's same-day, but I work full-time, so it can sometimes be a day or two after you audition that I answer. Also, I do live in EST, so I might just be sleeping. I do that sometimes.
