The Gifted Phoenix
Hello There!!
I am a personal fan of D&D and I occasionally write short stories but I did fall in love with a character I made in D&D. His name is Aun'Dra (First name Aun last name Dra).
He was a nobleman's son under House Pheonix. The youngest of the three children but the only boy. He was expected to follow his dads work in running the castle, lands, town, and farms. To do this he had the best education of the time era, and could swing his sword better than most of his soldiers. His house took pride in intelligence but was always cursed with war. Whether with bandits, monsters, whatever they always took up arms, son after the father. When he was around 20 his house finally achieved peace. Their current threat surrendered and there was no other reason to fight. It was half a winters dream. That is until a coup rose up against his father. Saying he's gone "weak". Aun went hunting unexpectedly one night and came back to his family being murdered in the great hall by their lesser lords. Seeing this triggered something inside of him, he burst into a Phoenix flame and slaughtered all those who were responsible. By morning he was running through the woods, with only the ability to cast fire in his left arm, and fled his home for being framed for the slaughter of the lords and his family. He now wanders the worlds as a one handed swordsman with the ability to cast fire from his left hand. (At level three he enters the Path of the Phoenix).

That is my character and my picture describes him very well except long brown hair. I really enjoy playing him and even might make a story around him. But I always love to read peoples characters and I wanted to see what kind of characters have formed from the people on this site :3 So go ahead and give me your best characters in detail, please.

I'm partial to the character I'm playing now;
Noclan Kazmir (Kaz or Kass for short) is a dragonborn paladin of Kelemvor. Left on the steps of a nature goddess as a child Kaz was the only dragonborn among a crowd of other humanoids, primarily humans and dwarves. As a result his childhood was fairly isolated, his rapid growth didn't help matters either, and he lashed out frequently at the other young acolytes. When the head priest caught him fighting they decided to channel his frustration into becoming a paladin for their goddess.

Kaz was apprenticed to an elven paladin, where he found he excelled at fighting but had difficulty with the holy magics of a paladin. When he admitted as such the paladin training him advised him to think over his faith. While rereading ancient holy texts he found references to Kelemvor and after reading about him something clicked. His conversion from a goddess of life and nature to a god of death was unpopular and he was cast from the temple. The paladin kept him as an apprentice and began traveling with him to finish his training.

His most recent party is only the second party he's been a part of since completing his training and because almost all of them are squishy he feels the compulsion to protect them. (It's 2 bards, one rogue, one ranger, a wizard, and a cleric) Despite being the one party-member without darksight he is constantly going first, shield up against any enemies. The gnome wizard usually rides on his shoulders because her ultimate goal in life is to master levitation spells and never walk again, so riding on the paladin is the closest she's going to get for now.

I modeled him after a bearded dragon, and he's a vegetarian who once tried to intimidate an innkeeper by eating a whole cabbage.

I was having a crappy day at work and was pissed when I got home but opening up rpnation and reading your character has made me happy. Thank you :3
Btw your character sounds badass and your party sounds dope. Did eating that whole cabbage work???

Nice character! I like hum!

A character I really want to play is really a joke character. He's a gnome bard named Dios. He was raised in a religious family where he was loved and taught music, as his family were famed bards. One night, he had a dream. A dream of him riding a dragon atop a rainbow as he was beside a wizard that was looking straight at him. He then jumped into the ocean below, where he saw a priest diving down with chains attached to a nearby pyramid. He soon woke up, and found his voice had become magical, and now he seeks to find "The Sacred Heart," or what he sees as the ultimate treasure. His lyrics come from his dreams, and his songs cam literally blow your mind. He's extremely short, even for a gnome with curly, flowing brown hair and brown eyes.

If you can't tell, he's basically Ronnie James Dio from the metal band Dio. I came up with him after listening to Sacred Heart with my dad and hearing how D&D it sounded, with dragons, wizards, and rainbows. Like I said, he's a joke character, and is not to be taken seriously.

So there's this rundown wooden pier erected by a still ocean and a clear horizon where people go to die.
On this pier walks a short, old lady with a cane and she shoo's away the seagulls that try to eat anyone who hasn't died yet.
She's a nice character.

This small town trailer trash dude who was smart enough to be able to leave town for college, and eventually ended up living the American, white picket fence dream complete with a wife, dog, and two kids. Except he's closeted af. Lots of, let's say, backroom deals as he reaches middle age. Gets busted by his wife eventually. Doesn't confront him about it (bc kids), but she's legit his best friend and soulmate, so he just fesses up for her sanity. She kicks him out, and he loses his friends too in the process. He wants to stay closeted so as far as their circle knows, he was just cheating on her like a regular douchebag. He gets depressed over losing a woman he really did love, just not in that way.

So anyway, his life in the big city is basically over. Now he has to go home and face the shitstorm that is his small town. He's no longer trailer trash, but now a hotshot doctor, so the people who used to snob him now actually like him. And the people who actually used to like him ... well, that's a different story. He's more or less estranged from his family there (before his return, most of his interactions with his siblings came in store-bought Christmas cards and other sad attempts to buy their love), so that made for a lot of awkward fun times between people who cared for each other while still harbouring deep-seated issues. There's also his childhood best friend -- also of trailer trash origins -- with whom he eventually drifted apart because his sophisticated big city friends were just so much better than a small trailer-trash boi who didn't even go to college. At first, they kind of just grunt each other and throw slightly passive-aggressive remarks about "the good old days." Eventually get drunk and end up reliving their rebellious teenage years for a night.

I usually hate slice-of-life RPs, but man did I love that one. That dude was so messed up inside, and mostly it was because of shit he'd brought upon himself.
