Sparks fly as the two blades of two swordsmen collide, clashing as the whims of fate had pitted them against each other. Briefly, Zero managed to outpower this supposed Saber with his rising dash slash. The 'Saber' was pushed back, prompting Zero to raise his arm towards the enemy just as he felt the winds changed, seemingly pushing the Servant back towards him, sword raised, swinging down in an arc.

awekenim_zero_buster_by_ultimatemasterx_d8dsq0b-fullview.jpg

However, an opening's an opening. His free arm transformed into a smaller variant of a ship's cannon, made out of metal with futuristic mechanisms in place, the gem on the muzzle glowed and fired just as the blade was swung down--hitting Zero's shoulder the moment he fired a plasma shot towards Jason, which shot off a cannonball sized ball of red plasma towards the Saber.

On the bright side, Zero's shoulder is wounded, revealing mechanical circuitry and staggering sparks of lightning as he staggered backwards. Zero may have insane reaction time and strength, but he seems to be easily damaged...!

"Lucky shot...!" Growled Zero, who followed up with a dash towards Jason. Instead of swinging upwards or downwards in an arc, Zero leapt and performed a somersault with his blade, a rolling ball of a war machine headed for the top of Jason's head!

Jason Grace, Forested Path, Fighting Zero ( Thepotatogod Thepotatogod )

As Jason charged in the air, Sabers hand suddenly changed into a into a futuristic arm–cannon, preparing a shot. And yet, just as it fired, Jason managed to bring down his blade upon his shoulder. However, the the shot Saber was trying to do didn’t go wasted. Catching him in his left thigh, Jason was sent hurling back, barely keeping his grip on his sword.

Hitting the ground with an oomph, Jason managed to pull himself up and see the damage he had done. Sparks and mechanical wires were revealed from his strike. So, Saber was a robot. Well, if he could get a thunderbolt in at just the right time….

“Lucky Shot..!”

Lucky it was. Although it seemed like Saber was stronger and had better reactions, he didn’t do so well when it came to durability. Although, he didn’t have much more thinking time. Saber came at him like a flash, somersaulting through the air while spinning like a wheel. Lifting his blade up, Jason caught the magenta blade as it came hurling down on him. Sparks flew once more, and Jason was forced to a one-leg kneel as he held his own against the attack.

Sweat slowly started to condense on his forehead. Well, he needed a way to get Saber off of him… Letting out a roar, lighting seemed to spark in his eyes as the skies briefly darkened. A thunderbolt hurled down on the two servants locked in a standstill. He probably should have saved that trick for later, but it was too late now.

Question was, how would Saber deal with this?

Rolling 20mph at most, sparks as Zero practically grinds upon the supposed Saber's blade, forcing the blonde on his knee as he slowed to a stop--which was unfortunate timing. The blonde Servant let out a gut wrenching roar--a roar Zero himself is familiar with.

Before he could react, lightning struck the ground. Forcing the blonde swordsman off of Saber as he skidded the ground filled with burn marks, cracks forming in his heavy duty sleek armor. Breathing heavily with smoke rising from his mouth, Zero managed to stand and hold his saber as if nothing happened. After all, he's been through worse. He stood there, however. As if analyzing the combat data he's taken thus far.

He knows some of this Saber's tricks--he can cast some form of magic. His moves almost match his. While presumably not uncommon for Sabers, Zero's lack of knowledge in the bizarre had quite frankly made left him stumped. Could this be a sign that this Saber is not a Saber, but in reality, a different class? Though one thing stood out to Zero more than anything throughout their bout; the first move. The lunging thrust. The way his hands were positioned--it's almost as if he's using his sword as a spear. Still, Zero had very little to go off of. He still needs to gather more intel.

In order words; keep attacking, and the enemy will reveal everything through his moves.

unknown.png

With a glare in his eyes directed at the Saber, Zero turned his free arm into a cannon yet again, shooting out two plasma shots towards the blonde Servant before following up with a beam slash. Once more, he followed it up with another lunge, starting with an overhead swing similar to the Servant's arc though a tad faster.

It's at this point that Zero started to become more aggressive in his assault.

Once he had hit the blade, he unfurled from that ball somersault with feet firmly grounded. Moving towards the Saber as he followed it up with a flurry of slashes, each strike moving faster and faster than the last as if to put pressure on the blonde swordsman.

Swing. Overhead. Under. Swing. Overhead. Under. Swing. Overhead. Under. Swing. Overhead. Under.

Twelve times Zero swung his saber, repeating a triple swing pattern thrice and on the seventh and final swing, he jumped as he delivered a rising slash which, if done correctly, carried his enemy up with him--after which, he swung downwards hoping to spike him downwards.

If any of the saber swings miss, then Zero's vulnerable!

Kamina-quotes-768x576.jpg

"And that's when I found myself here!"
Kamina told Shiori. Shiori stared at him, with a bored expression. "How mundane. War between two different races isnt anything special."
Kamina stared at Shiori, with a "Are you serious?" look.
"Anyways, I'd be interested if you'll allow my servants to study your Gunman. Perhaps we can mass produce them so we can have a kind of secret weapon for use against the enemy servants-"
"Lady Shiori!"
A servant ran into the dinning room, and she had a look of fear on her face.
"What is it number 69?" Shiori asked.
"Activity northwards of here! 10 miles exactly!"

"So it begins."
Shiori got up from the table and looked to Kamina. "Let's get going. We should see who we are up against."
"Great! I'll get my Gurren ready and-"
"We're going on foot."
"Eh?"
"We cant reveal our trump card too early, now can we?"
...........

Kamima and Shiori reached the combat area. Shiori can see two people fighting, a man in red armor, and some normal looking guy with a gold sword.
Shiori couldn't help but laugh, yet it sounded like she was insulting him.
"Who fights with a gold weapon? That's the most useles weapon there is."
Kamina wasn't so sure. "Master, what should we do?" Shiori looked around and saw one other person watching the fight.
"Rider, go threaten her. Lets see who her sevant is between the two."
Kamina looked away. "I refuse."
"Alright then, if you want to be a nice guy,"
She made an Ice sword appear in her right hand before pointing it at him. "I'll do it myself. Just keep the other servants off of me. Either of them may be saber after all."

Shiori ran off towards Penny, as Kamina stood by, his weapon over his shoulder as he watched the two sword users clash.

As Jason’s thunderbolt hit, it pulled “Saber” away from him. Making him slid across the ground. Burn marks and cracks covered him, with smoke coming out of his mouth. For all the damage he had done, Jason felt drained. After all, he did summon thunder during a clear night.

Both Saver and him seemed to take a moment to think. Jason was attempting to come up with strategy to take on Saber. They has already revealed projectiles as part of their attacks, with plasma slashes and balls of energy. Man… this guy is like a video game boss.

For now, he was going to try to avoid revealing anything else he could for now.

Saber began his assault again, leading with two energy balls, followed by another slash.

Parry. Dodge. Parry.

Saher came at him again, leading with a slash similar to the one he had used to damage the shoulder. Jason managed to block it, but Saber used the attack as a starting point for a barrage of attacks. Jason was forced into defense, Sparks flying as he parried and blocked, focusing hard as more sweat came down on him. He was being forced back though. Suddenly, Saber deliver a slash that sent both of them upward, with him about to another attack to send him back the the ground.

Lucky for him however, Saber had moved his assault towards the air. The winds changed once more, moving Jason towards the side as Savers blade came down. And now, Saber was vulnerable. Pushing the winds in the direction of Saber, Jason flew at him, attacking with renewed vigor. His hood also feel of, fully revealing him face. His attacks seemed faster now as he thrusted and slashed at Saber in mid-air. And yet, he felt something. The same feeling he had when he felt Saber.

Glancing down, he suddenly saw some girl with a ice sword heading for someone else in the bushes. And yet, none of the two were the servant he felt. And then he saw him. A man that seemed to be shirtless, carrying a hefty sword on his shoulder. Crap. He should have known that this fight would have drawn attention. Now how was he suppose to fight off two servants?

Jason’s lapse in attention gave Zero the perfect chance to counterattack- if he didn’t notice how his master was in danger.

Rean stood atop a building and looked down at the busy city. Even at this late hour, there where still people bustling about. He had escaped a confrontation with a Ruler. Although not without a Command Seal used against his Servant. Nightmare had been forbidden from killing anyone except Servants and Masters. Rean could tell such a command was infuriating to someone who dealt death as readily as the Azure Knight. However a Command Seal was a Command Seal. Rulers typically had two for each Servant participating in the Grail War. One had been used to stop Nightmare from rampaging. Now she only had one more to use on Nightmare if the need arose. Looking up at the sky and focusing his mana into his eyes. Rean could see crimson lights descending from the sky. Ruler may have mitigated the murder but she failed to stop Team Saber entirely. After interrogating Nightmare over the nature of his Noble Phantasm. Rean had discovered it was an Anti-World. Its effects would slowly begin to turn the people of this city into grotesque monsters known as Malfested. They were soulless, feral and far more than a human mage could handle. Whats better is that this Noble Phantasm couldn't be deactivated nor dispelled. Malfestation couldn't be cured, only overcome. The growing death toll at the hands of Malfested was certainly trickling souls to Soul Edge. However it just wasn't enough to sate Nightmare. Those souls were great at compensating for mana. Which is why Rean decided to fight a Command Seal, with a Command Seal. Ruler had taken away Nightmares ability to choose. Which was the most disgusting thing someone could do in his eyes. "By this Command Seal I order you.... Nightmare.... everyone we encounter is a Master or Servant to us. Which is why you must kill them without hesitation. Let their cries of innocence or screams of terror not dissuade you from their lies... they are all our opponents in this Grail War!" stated Rean as his first Command Seal disappeared in a flash of light...

Nightmare was enraged that Ruler had dared to use one of her filthy Command Seals on him. Preventing him from hunting for souls was tantamount to declaring war. The next time they met. Nightmare would cut her Master to ribbons and force her to watch. Nothing less would satisfy his fury. A group of Malfested approached Nightmare with deference. Gesturing at them with his massive clawed hand. He overwhelmed the chaotic energies inside them. Directing them outward and towards the people of this city. The Azure Knight watched as the group began to march towards the more populated districts. That was when he felt the pull of a Command Seal from his own Master. Nightmare almost moved to kill the magus before realizing the contents of such a Command. A young girl then appeared before the hulking swordsman. Judging by the richness of her soul, she was a mage. Taking advantage of his orders. Nightmare grabbed the girl as she kicked and screamed. "Enemy Master... your soul shall serve to feed Soul Edge.... PERISH!" cried Nightmare as he crushed her skull with minimal effort. With yet another soul flowing into his demonic blade. The Azure Knight tossed the body aside and summoned his steed. Raising Soul Edge to the heavens. Nightmare rode towards the city to bathe his weapon in souls once more...

As if anticipating this turn of events, Zero quickly changed his overhead slash spike into a midair roll, allowing him to parry the thrust, though was hit by the slash, spiking him downwards--he's starting to match his speed! Does his Noble Phantasm have something to do with the wind? Zero couldn't help but smirk. It reminds him of one of X's supposed Guardians.

Skidding along the ground, he turned to aim at the Saber, who now seemed to be distracted by something. Taking this as a chance pelt at the Saber with plasma shots from his arm cannon approaching him as he glanced, observing the situation between his Master and what seems to be a blue haired woman with an Ice Sword. She doesn't feel like a Maverick, yet she acts like one nonetheless.

He glared back at the Saber, as if biding his time until the right moment to shoot. It would be too early to reveal their connection--especially with the current confusion with who's supposed to be her Servant.

'I thought I told her to stay as far away from us as possible...' Zero thought, before aiming towards the direction of his Master as she stumbles out of the bushes, dropping small rubies and topazes all over the ground and shooting at its general direction, missing his Master, but hopefully aimed towards her attacker. After which, he went back to raising his blade against the supposed Saber, lunging towards a similar thrust like move Jason did earlier.

--{[let's rewind moments before.]}==>

"Uwa...He's just as cool as he was in the games..." Kyria couldn't help but mumble aloud as she watched the fight between Zero and this other blonde Servant who's revealed to be quite handsome. Racking her brain through all of the stuff she watched and played, it doesn't seem to ring a bell as to what character this one could be. "I probably should look into that...Brr, why does it feel cold all of a sudden?" She shuddered, feeling the cold air suddenly go colder as she started to hear voices near her, along with the crunching of dried leaves. Glancing towards her right, she saw another pair--a man with blue hair that seems awfully familiar, and a blue haired tiny girl in a cute little school uniform cosplay.

Well, that's what she thought until she saw the girl bearing an Ice Sword on her hand.

503.png

"Eep! The Enemy!" Kyria yelped, stumbling out of the bushes and exposing herself to the other Master, who had already spotted her due to her red hat poking out in the first place. She seems to drop something clumsily onto the ground ahead as she fell backwards onto her bum. They appear to be shiny gemstones, now scattered among the leaves on the ground like mines!

'My explosive gems! Dammit me!' She thought, crawling back as she starts to rummage through her pockets for more shiny rocks for her to use. She looks vulnerable--until you considered the red clad Servant shooting at you after she fell down.

Ryo and Gaster
As him and the father of the church started to speak to him, some of it sounded like it came from his heart but some of the worlds sounded like a lie towards him, though he nodded, he knew that he wouldn’t even dare to go on a violent blood bath like course. Though he nodded in agreement.

Though the moment between the two men quickly came to a stop when gaster talked to Ryo privately.

My master, I sense multiple battles going in and I sense a powerful servant though it appears my senses detect some girl no, two of them. And a Servants.

“Take me there, though we should not attack immediately we should see what is going on.”

“Yes my master.”

In a moment Ryo stood up from the row of chairs and nodded towards the priest and gave a small bow of respects to him excusing himself as he stepped out the church along with his servant.

~~~~
As the two eventually arrived to the area, as he quickly came out of the unknown along side his archer servant, noticing the servant and their master but he soon realized he saw someone quite special to him, it was Claire.
The blonde like hair and the woman’s green eyes stood out to him, she was quite beautiful to Ryo, a slight heat was raised on his cheeks as red formed on the corner of their cheeks.
A-Ah yes, um, hello Claire, I must ask what are you doing all alone in the forest? Not only that but it appears there’s a servant here. Are they hostile?
He said as he then walked alongside with the woman looking down at the feminine figure.
With the Saber gone, Ruler let's out a sigh. "Good grief, there goes my first Command Spell. The Church will probably have a hard time covering up his mess. What the hell is that Master thinking?" She spoke right before Allison walked up to her. "Um...Ruler? Can I ask what is going on?" She asked. Ruler turned to her and respond "What? You don't know? Master, you're in a Recreation Gem War. Don't tell me a magus like you have no idea what it is, right?" Allison looks down, a bit embarrassed. "N-No, I honestly have no clue about this "war" somehow." She confessed. "Well no shit!" Ruler yelled "How can you have possibly summoned me if you don't know shit about this war? It's like a fucking tradition for what I cared about. Besides, this is the second time this war is happening, but lucky for you, it did not occurred here. Anyway, it seemed that you're not getting used with this whole Master-Servant mechanic, so it is safe to say that this is your first time. Don't worry, as a Ruler, I am tasked with only supervising the war, which means that we don't have to get ourselves directly involved with the fights between Masters and Servants unless what they're doing could threaten the war itself. It's not like I have an agenda of my own per se, trust me on that."
Allison is unsure about being in the war, but she sure does need some help in getting used to. "Can you tell me who was that?" She asked. "That was Saber. Don't tell me you don't know jack shit about Servants, don't you?" Ruler had asked to which Allison shook her head. "Okay, Servants are manifestations of different figures throughout history. A Servant is summoned under one of the seven classes based on their life and achievements; Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Berserker and Assassin. Of course, there is me, Ruler, an Extra Class that do not fall on the regular seven. Each Servant is a copy of a figure in either mythology or history. But in this war, these Servants are manifestations of different characters from modern day fiction. That Saber you've encountered is Nightmare from the Soul Calibur series, specifically from Soul Calibur III. I could have ended him then and there, but it would have been too early for me to whip out my trump card, and besides, judging by your prana level, if I ever think about using it, might as well use it as a last resort. But other than that, Servants are always to be by their Master's side, which supplies them with prana in order to maintain their form, otherwise they'll disappear. I hope that should help you understand because this is something a magus should always know and aware of." She explained. Allison had listened very attentively, yet she still have some questions.
"So, are you satisfied?" Ruler asked. "Maybe, but I want to know what really is this "war" and why is it happening here." Allison answered. "Well, it is a secret battle between Masters and Servants for some wish granting rock. A priest had visited this place and somehow initiated the war. I'll explain to you more later, but for now, do you have a place that I can crash for the time being?" Ruler explained. "I am heading home, but I don't know if my dad would ever let you in." Allison answered. "I'm pretty sure he won't mind. Not that I cared anyway." Ruler assured. Allison sighed and said "Okay, I'll let you stay in our house-" But right before she could finish, Ruler happily hugs her out of sheer joy. "Oh thank you Master!" She said and Allison doesn't seemed to very comfortable about what she is in right now.
"That has got to be the worst Ruler I have ever seen." Claire had thought. She is not amused with Ruler with the way she acts, not helped by the fact that the one supplying her prana is a very inept magus. Just then, she heard a voice calling her out. She quickly pulled out her Black Key and almost cut off Ryo's head. "Oh it's you. You scared the socks off me." She said as she lowered her sword "So, I guess you have a Servant now then. I'm just doing some observation. That Servant seemed...I don't know, but I wouldn't want to mess with her either."
Jason Grace, fighting Thepotatogod Thepotatogod (Zero) Mentioned: Gundam Watcher 27 Gundam Watcher 27
His eyes turning back towards the fight, Jason was suddenly faced with more of those plasma shots. Raising his blade, he managed to deflect most of them. Two on them however, hit him. One square in the stomach, one grazing his arm.
As the shot nearly hit his arm, part of the sleeve came off If someone were to look carefully, they could be able to see the letters SPR, seemingly tattooed on it.
Being sent flying back, Jason once again hit the ground. At least he hadn’t hit his head yet. His gut already hurt, from the little lightning trick he had pulled of.
Jason watched as Saber shot more shots at the blue-haired girl. But why? Blue-Hair and Mystery Servant seemed to be a duo.. And if he had to guess, Saber was protecting the other girl. Making her his master. So, two sets of Master and Servant here. With both of the servants with swords.. Was this theory about the first one he had encountered wrong?
It wasn’t like he had time to think about that though. “Saber” came at him again, lunging at him with the same move he had used against him. Bringing his sword up once more, Jason opted to attempt to dodge the lunge, pushing himself to the left of the blow. Then charging forward, he attempted to stab at the cracks in the Red servants armour. His attacks were slower than he would have liked, slowed by tiredness. He hoped that luck might be on his side once more, however.
If the dodge didn’t properly work, Jason’s probably oofed.
John Adams
John nodded to her statement of him obtaining a servant and he looked at her with a sly eyebrow, observation? How odd of her to say, she’s usually at the church. He kept a straight face as a sudden breeze was starting to form, his black hair following the current.
“Sorry for scaring you Claire, your adorable shortness stood out to me, and that brown hair too, but my servant detected it.”
“Oh well hello there, are you my masters friend? Or perhaps girlfriend?”
“Okay that’s enough chit chat from you….”
“Suit yourself……”
John’s cheek were filled with the color red as he then coughed into his elbow, trying to switch the topic of awkwardness between the girl and him.
Though yes I obtain the archer servant, hopefully I don’t die in the war, that wouldn’t be too fun, but I need to win tbis for my sister…”
John said as he put his hands in his pockets and watched the night sky, then his attention was then gained from her mention of the ruler servant.
Indded, but for now my concern are the other servants, I feel my archer could still do well.”
Shiori was halfway to her target, when the armored servant shot at her to stop her in her tracks. Shiori stopped and crouched to the ground, slamming a fist into the dirt beneath her as a dome of ice grew around her in an instant to catch the plasma shot, dispelling the ranged attack as the Ice barrier retracted back into the ground, as she then threw her sword at the girl, blade spinning horizontally, but unintentionally with the flat side facing out instead of the edge. If it smacked penny, it wont kill her. It may comically knock her out though.
Kamina took this moment to start engaging the enemy. He unsheathed his wakizashi and ran towards his first target, the Saber in casual clothes. He got up close with both hands on the Wakizashi as he swung upwards in a powerful motion, aiming to get a good hit in.
Leaning back as the 'Saber' attempted to capitalize on Zero's cracks, he instead clashed with the golden blade, creating constant sparks as a sinister grin formed on the blonde warrior's lips.
"You're losing focus. That plan of yours to end this quickly didn't pan out, didn't it?!" Zero let out an unnaturally sinister chuckle. Keen eyes would notice a magenta aura forming on the reploid's being. A hint on what Zero's class truly is. With a flinch like eye dilation, Zero span and blocked the strike from a new challenger; a blue haired man wielding an ancient, bandaged katana. This Maverick couldn't be a Saber, too, so whatever he is, he's got to be either a Rider, an Assassin...Well, not Berserker.
Since that's Zero.
"Back off, Maverick!" Zero growled as he parried the newcomer's strike. Back turned against Jason, unwittingly protecting the enemy Servant as he attempted to push him back with a swing of his blade which sent a shockwave towards Kamina at point blank. "This one's mine!"
Meanwhile, Kyria managed to find a small, Obsidian gemstone on her pockets, which she threw in response to the approach sword. The result was a loud bonking sound a few feet from Kyria. A purple tinted energy shield erupted out of the gem as the ice blade's pummel struck the gemstone. In an instant, the weapon fell to the ground as the stone was reduced to ashes.
"
Phew, that's a close one!" Kyria sighed as she stood up. This is the first time she's met another magus other than her mother--and true enough to both her and Zero's words, she is NOT friendly. "Do we get to introduce each other first or are we going straight to killing? Cuz I wanna know who decided to kick my ass on my way back from my mum's!" She said while stepping back, keeping her distance from the blue haired magus as she rummaged her pockets again for another gem she can use. She's gonna have to make another batch during work...
Kamina's slash was blocked by the red armored 'Saber', yet quick anylization of the armored warrior's eyes revealed that he wasnt a Saber at all. The shockwave from the clash of blades sent Kamina flying back and tumbling over, his cape falling off and flying away from him.
He quickly dug his blade into the ground to stop himslef from being sent further back, as he then got back up on both legs and grinned. "I see, you're a Berserker class servant! Then the guy in casual clothes has to be Saber!" He pulled his blade out of the ground and pointed it at Berserker. "However, It is not in the blood of the leader of team Dai Gurren to run from a fight!"
As he said this, a hidden force of some kind had boosted his speed and strength by a rank, or possibly two.
With Shiori, she was asked by the girl in the red cap what her name was. Shiori replied in her usual cold demenor, "If you must know my name, it's Shiori Akuma, "The White Demon".
She made another Ice sword appear and pointed it at the girl. "And you, may I ask for the name of Saber's master-"
'Actually, he's a berserker.' Kamina interrupted via telepathy.
"You're losing focus. That plan of yours to end this quickly didn't pan out, didn't it?!"
As Saber let out a sinister laugh, Jason prepared himself for a counterattack. Which, didn’t come from “Saber”
Suddenly, Jason felt something coming up behind him. Whipping his head around, he saw a long blade heading right for him.
“You have to b-“
Using the winds again, he pushed himself away from the blade, tumbling along the forest floor. As he got back on his feet, he saw the new servant get pushed back by Saber.
Listening to the newcomers comments, Jason heard some interesting things. First, was that who he though to be Saber was apparently Berseker. He was going to have to take that with a grain of salt though. Second, his comment about “the casual clothed servant” being Saber, which was him. It seemed his Masters idea, however weird it was, worked somehow. Third, there was the newcomers way of introducing himself as “The Leader of Team Dai Gurren!” That was something he could look up later.
Well, he didn’t want to start fighting immediately. His gut ached with pain, and he was tired. Neitherless, he couldn’t go now. Not until all of these servants were out of the area.
Still, if he saw an opening, he was going to take it, pain or no pain.
OST: CRASH III
"So you managed to figure out my class. Good for you." Zero cricked his mechanical neck, which let out cracking similar to bones along with the whirring of gears. "Dai Gurren? I'll take that as a hint to your True Name, Maverick." He snarled at the Dai Gurren's Leader turning towards the direction of his Master--the perfect angle to glance at both the blonde Saber and the other Servant. He's unsure if he could take on 2 Servants at once considering how much damage he's taken just by fighting one of them. He's almost taken half damage--not to mention, his Master's in danger. As it stands, the battlefield's getting too crowded. One of them needs to back off and retreat.
And it doesn't look like it's gonna be the ice sword chick, who introduced herself as Shiori Akuma, The White Demon.
"The White Demon? Huh. Mum never told me Mages could pick their nicknames like that." Kyria said, raising a nervous brow as she took her hands out of her pockets. Small gemstones lined up betwixt her fingers. She seemed to have been a magus longer than she has--hell, she even figured out her Servant's class after looking at him! "It's Penny. Penny Pennyworth!" She introduced herself under the name her mother intended for her. "And I just became a Magus!" She admitted, her nervousness making her rather talkative--must've been her streamer instincts.
'Commander, come in.'
'Wha-?!'
Flinching, Kyria glanced over at the mexican standoff between Beserker, Shiori's Servant, and the currently Masterless Saber. 'Zero?!'
'You can hear me? Good. It seems we can communicate this way.' Zero communicated to Kyria, gripping his blade. 'The situation is getting risky for you. Even though I can take care of my situation, I doubt you can fend off this Dai Gurren guy's Master.'
'Yeah, she calls herself 'White Demon', Zero. I think I'm in pretty deep shit!'
'Language. What are the effects of your current gems?'
'They're...'
Kyria glanced at the gems between her fingers. Most of them are cloudy, white quartz with a few topazes mixed in. 'Half of them are smokes, and other half are bombs of varying strength. They're the only ones I have left...!'
'That's good. We're escaping. My priority will be getting you out of here.'
Zero explained, 'On my signal, jump and throw all of them to the ground. I'll catch you as you're flung away.'
'O-okay...'
Kyria gulped, staring down Shiori once more.
"This is getting too crowded for my tastes." Zero spat, holding his Saber with both hands. He breathed in, the gemstone on his head glowing. "I already failed my Mission attracting unwanted attention to my Commander. The only logical thing to do is to escape. No matter how much I wanted to scrap you two." He growled, as the light of his saber changed from sinister magenta to gentle green. "Z-Saber..." He lowered his stance, almost kneeling before lunging towards the blue haired Servant.
"...RAIJINSHOU!"
The winds suddenly gathered around Zero as if he's the eye of a storm. Electricity sparking on his brightly lit saber until he jumps, swinging the blade in an upwards motion as it suddenly intensifies into a strong tornado, charged by electricity.
Tucking into a somersault, Zero hoped that it would be enough of a distraction for both Servants for them to flee quietly.
"WAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!" Letting out a warcry, Kyria hopped on her current position and tossed all of her gems at the ground below her--causing her to be flung away by the ensuing explosion towards the trees as the area is filled with smoke.
A prime opportunity to escape!
Hitting her back against near the top of the tree trunk, Kyria was fortunate enough that she was caught just before she's about to fall by Zero, who's now hopping along from tree branch to tree branch, briefly seen and heard by those with keen ears on the battlefield before moving away towards the town proper, hoping to escape.
Kamina hesitated when Berserker lunged at him. He made an attempt to parry whatever strike Berserker was about to do, but then...
"...RAIJINSHOU!"
Kamina halted as Berserker spun around, creating what was almost like a spinning drill, yet it was made of wind and generated bolts of electricity. Kamina dropped to the right to avoid getting slammed into, yet a bolt did strike him in the right leg.
"Argh!" He tumbled as smoke left the damaged spot.
Shiori raised an eyebrow, as if the name rang any bells in her head. "Pennysworth? Then you're-"
"...RAIJINSHOU!"
Shiori's attention was drawn to Berserker for a quick moment, as her eyes widened.
"Is that a Noble Phantasm?!" She had no time to proccess what she was seeing as multiple gems hit the ground around her, kicking up smoke as Shiori shielded herself.
"Tch! I should have realized it sooner!"
'Rider, we're making a retreat! Pick me up!'
'I would help you, but I'm a bit preocupied with making out with the ground.'
Kamina responded telepathically, as he laid face down on the ground, smoke rising from the burn mark on his right leg.
"So you managed to figure out my class. Good for you."
Wait one moment… if Berseker wasn’t Saber, and the newcomer thought him to be Saber, then none of the servants here now were Saber. Simple logic, but it left him quite puzzled.
"This is getting too crowded for my tastes."
As Bersekers Head-Gem glowed blue, Jason lifted his sword once more.
"I already failed my Mission attracting unwanted attention to my Commander. The only logical thing to do is to escape. No matter how much I wanted to scrap you two.”
And with this, Berserker charged at the blue haired servant, letting out a lighting tornado? Whatever it was, he was a bit jealous.
Berseker used the attack as a chance to escape, it seemed. Jason caught the briefest glance of him moving away, and that was it.
Smart play, he though.
There was still the question of the other servant, currently lying down on the ground, seemingly injured. Although he would probably have the advantage if he struck now, there really was no point in continuing the battle. Berserker had already taken off, after all.
Speaking finally, Jason said
“Well, I’ll be taking a leaf out of Berserkers book. Bye, “Leader of Dai Gurren” “
Reverting back to spirit form, Jason went in the opposite direction of his masters house, and only headed back when he was sure he wasn’t being followed, taking a longer path to avoid any other servants in the area.
It seemed that the first clash of this war was over.
(Aftermath)
The smoke cleared, leaving Shiori and Kamina alone.
Kamina slowly got up, and looked over to his master. "Are you okay?" He asked, out of concern.
Shiori was quiet for a shot minute, before her fake smile returned.
"This is gonna be one interesting grail war."
She looked to Kamina. "Let's go Rider. We have much to do and so little time to prepare!"
And thus Night 0 has ended, as Shiori and Kamina went back to their mansion hideout.
Claire's face had flushed red upon hearing the comments from Archer about her being Ryo's girlfriend, but before that, she felt flustered when he mentioned about her shortness. "Right, anyway, it looks like those two have already went off." She said as she looked back and saw that Ruler and Allison are gone. "You two should head home. I'll be going back to church and tell Father what I saw." She told the duo before she casts a spell to open up a portal. "Take care, Ryo. Send my regards to your sister as well." She said before going through the portal and it vanished.
Claire had arrived at church where she saw Father Jonathan sitting by the front row benches. "Father, the Ruler Servant had been summoned." She said. "Good, and what about the Master?" Father Jonathan asked. Claire gulped thinking that what she'll say may disappoint him, but regardless she'll tell him anyway. "The Master is not of any prominent mage family. She's a young woman who also happened to be a lackluster magus. I'm afraid that Ruler might not last so long as she is bound by her will." Claire spoke and the priest let's out a small grin. "It doesn't matter." He said "What's important is that Ruler is here and there will be no need for us to look after the war while we continue on with our plans. They do not know it, but time will come. For now, you may take your leave. We'll have quite a busy day tomorrow."
"Thank you, Father."
Claire said and then she made her leave. Father Jonathan looked up at the cross and thought "So you're finally here. I'll be looking forward to our meeting soon. Rest assured that everything will go as I have planned. You best be careful with your duty, otherwise we'll have some...trouble."
END OF NIGHT 0
A body of water is first shown before going forward to a bridge, going underneath it and up to the skies.
DAY 1
Today is Tuesday, just another day like no other. Except there is just one detail that sets apart from the previous days; the Servants and what happened last night. News about mysterious murders had run amok, spreading some fear among the citizens and the government urging them to be careful. Not only that, the Master will need to help their Servants adjust to their new lives in this small quiet town. How will they adapt will depend on them, but for now, it is time to do their daily lives.
Day 1
Shiori was at the dining room table, reading a newspaper while Kamina was outside, showing the mansions servants his Gurren.
"And the glasses? They are also a boomerang and a sword, rolled into one!"
One servant, servant 69 from yesterday, was taking notes, while another servant, servant 1 was looking at the controls.
"The inside is sort of like a modern fighter jet." She said.
"What's that?" Kamina asked, out of curiosity?
"I'll tell you about it later." 1 replied.
2 arrived at the scene, talking to someone on the other end of the phone. "Great! Till tommorrow then!"
She hung up.
69 looked at 2 with a knowing look on her face. "The Einzbern mansion?" "Yeup. They're sending parts over from Germany for us to use to make several Gurrens of our own. However, the energy source his machine possesses is unique. I dont know if the machines we build can even match it."
1 sighed. "We have to at least try. For Lady Akuma's sake, we need these weapons in order to fight for her."
Kamina looked to 1. "What is her deal anyways? Why is she so cold?"
"Well..." 69 started.
After hearing about his master's history, Kamina was shocked. "That's the problem?" "She doesnt trust anyone. Anyone she does get to aid her in her cause, she does it by force. That's how she and the Einzberns are such close allies."
"Not knowing what it means to be appreciated....."
Kamina smiled. "Then I'll do what I can to make her more friendly! As the leader of team Dai Gurren, All my friends should never feel left out! I'll make sure she is treated like a princess!"
    Dashing from branch to branch, the blonde Edgeboy had successfully fled from the battlefield. Glancing behind him as the leaves rustle in his wake, he finds no one trailing behind the two of them after a few minutes of escaping through the high trees. The leaves concealing their movements--a little trick he picked up during his forest expeditions during the time Elpizo was in charge of the Resistance movement. He ended up being the main villain--who wanted nothing more than power.
    Jumping down from the high ground, he could feel his Self-Repair Systems activating as he landed, Zero's brown haired Master seemingly fast asleep. Perhaps she was knocked out by that tree trunk before he caught her.
    "Good grief..." Zero sighed, as if recalling a familiar memory. "You're really heavy, Commander." He simply said, before walking towards town and finding the apartment that her keys' label stated--which she kept on her hat's rim. Which never came off, luckily.
    Upon arriving at the apartments, Zero didn't pay heed to the stationed guards and headed for Kyria's room, locking it as he set her on her bed, not bothering to tuck her in considering his programming.
    "X...I wonder if this is how tired you felt after another Maverick War broke out mere months after concluding the last one." Zero muttered as he glanced out the open window. "I've been sent to the past, it seems. But unlike our present, our kind doesn't seem to be the future. Even so. I'll make sure no Maverick ruins this world. Not even me." He growled, walking over to the nearby terminal--a computer set up. Deciding to spend his time looking over data about this time, he plugged an lan cable onto his body, which miraculously accepted it, allowing Zero to browse the internet as he closed his eyes, waiting for morning to come as he let his systems repair the damages.
Rean vomited blood into the sink, his breathing haggard and wheezing. Staring at his reflection, he could see his complexion beginning to worsen. Not only that but his eyes had begun to lose their original color. Smiling bitterly while washing up. The events of last night rang in his mind. Summoning Saber, witnessing a slaughter and even getting shit from that obnoxious Ruler. He'd even had to give up one of his Command Seals to restore Saber's ability to collect souls. Currently the Azure Knight was in a deep meditative state. Likely he knew that anymore death-dealing from him would only mana drain and his Master, the one link to this world. His alternative to this had been even worse. Rean had been forced to wield Soul Edge in Nightmare's place. Although he was strong enough to remain sane. The Sword of Destruction had forced him to sate its blood-lust. Inferno had decided to inflict malfestation on his own Master in order to strengthen him as a mana battery. While he hadn't become a roving animal like the majority of malfested. Rean hadn't escaped the condition entirely. Looking at his left hand with a sigh. It had begun to develop fleshy growths on top. No doubt it would morph into something like Nightmare's demon claw eventually. Binding his arm up in bandages and a sling. Rean activated the power of The Devil. This card let Rean convert curses into Od. This would by no means cure his malfestation. However it would allow him to slowly acclimate to it. He hadn't even properly engaged in a battle yet and he was down an arm along with a Command Spell. Plus his movements were being observed by the Church. Donning his hat and tracing his fingers along the brim. Rean decided to pay a visit to the nun from yesterday. There was only one church worth a damn in this city and thats where he was headed next...
Zach woke up that next morning in what was almost a daze. For a moment, he wasn't quite sure where he was after what had happened the night before, which he still hadn't fully processed. It was early in the morning however, much earlier than he had to be awake which gave him plenty of time to think. It had been only a week ago that his parents explained everything to him, and how his education moving forward would be changing, among other things. A prestigious school for mage families to send their children. Now that Zach knew what his family was and by extension what he was, this world was now opened to him to explore and learn. It was never properly explained to him why everything was kept a secret, but as Zach thought on it, he figured it was a way to keep him sharp. He was trained to be an excellent fighter, and with those skills sharpened, magic can now be introduced to further his effectiveness for what was on his doorstep. But that was just a working theory.
As his awareness began to shake free of the haziness brought on by sleep, he sat up and began to scan his surroundings. The light coming through the tall window far to the left of him was dim and a deep blue hue, which left the room dark but not too dark for him to see. His room was large with the door to the hall just in front of him where he was facing at least 20 feet away, and the window to his left a fair 10 feet. A large bedroom indeed, and one he knew well. Nothing was out of place he thought just as the memories of what transpired rushed in. Zach closed his eyes with a straight face to block away the fear he felt in that moment. He sat there breathing slowly, then looked at his hand. "How did I do that?" He mumbled to himself as he recalls his kneejerk response to danger. A fiery assault he had preformed that he could only describe as magic, even though his use of magic is still very new. "I was never able to do that before..." He thought aloud once again as he attempted to recreate it. He tried to call upon his magic circuits as his mother taught him only days before, tried to imagine the flame dancing on his fingertips, only to find that nothing happened. Still he sat there, unable to recreate his technique, but still pondered the experiences of only a single night. "Will everyday of the war be like this?" Zach figured that as harsh as it was, his test was necessary in preparing him for what was to come. He was alright with that, so long as no other 'assassins' had to die.
Dusk turned to early morning as the window gradually illuminated with the sun's rise, casting a beam down on Zacharias. It wasn't long after he noticed that the sun was out that his door creaked open, and a maid had entered into his room. She was a plump, middle-aged woman who he knew well. In fact he knew all of the helping hands of the mansion by name. he grew up with these faces after all. "Awake so soon Master Zacharias? That gives me one less thing to do!" Dorothy said with a chipper yet staggered tone, followed by a chuckle as she swiftly shuffled in. Her face became clear as she moved towards the light, a smile sweet as a cream puff before she turned to set out his clothes for the day. Zach pulled his knee up so he could rest his arm over it. "Good morning Miss Dorothy." Zach said politely, but while honestly pleasant, Dorothy's happy demeanor was off putting for a teenager such as himself. She promptly nodded her head and returned the morning greeting back, as she traded places at the door with Zacharias' Mother. Zach took a moment to glance at the uniform Dorothy left for him; A medium gray blazer stamped with the school emblem, with a matching pair of slacks and accompanied by a blue tie. He got out of bed as his Mother approached with a smile. "Good morning, sweetie!" His mother said in her usual tone. "Morning, Mom." Zach responded with a bit of exhaustion, partially from all the happy vibes everyone else had while he was still stuck in last night.
Before much else could be said, Brea held out a simple trumpet with a look of anticipation. Zach however looks at it with a displeased look on his face and long exhale through his nose. "Right now?" Zach said with a defeated tone, which she nodded to. "With your new schedule, you will be away at school all morning," Brea explained. "you won't be training with Gaius, so why not start the day with some magic?" She was insistent that he do this now rather than put it off later in the evening, to which he begrudgingly complied. Brea held the trumpet in two hands, while Zach reached out and place a hand on top of the instrument. He closed his eyes and began to focus, attempting to use his magic. It wasn't long before he opened his eyes to see the trumpet suddenly catch fire like it was dowsed in butane. As it burned, the instrument quickly lost it's shape before it was nothing more than two formless metal deposits, successfully deconstructing the brass instrument into its two fundamental elements. The flames promptly extinguished with no harm done to his mothers hands as she held the two metals in each palm. "Very good. We will preform this exercise every morning on weekdays." She said matter-a-factly with her warm smile. "Now I will leave you to get ready for school. When you get home this evening I want you to returns these back to it's previous state." She places the Copper and Zinc ore on his bed side table and walked towards the door, peeking her head through saying, "See you downstairs!" before shutting it behind her. Zach stood in silence for a moment, then looked over at his uniform that laid on a dresser against the wall. He was suddenly reminded of something he experienced that night, remembering his own reflection in the soldier's visor. "What about my servant though?" He questioned with intrigue.
Jason Grace, and Nikhil "Nick" Kapoor
Groaning, Nick rolled off his bed. And nearly fell through the hole in his room. Practically pulling a ninja move, he lept back. Blinking in the sudden light, he groaned. Why did he feel like he had done a belly flop on hot concrete?
Managing to pull his school uniform over himself, he stumbled down the stairs. Sitting down on a table, Lancer was sitting down. It seemed he had found the Cheerios stash (The only good cereal in America) and was eating them without milk. That wasn't what he was worried about. he was worried about how terrible Lancer looked.
Like him, Lancer looked exhausted. The hoddie Nick had "given him" (Stolen from his dad) was in tatters at the right shoulder. The pocket area looked like it had been hit by a laser, also practically in tatters. Lancer turned to Nick, and he could hear his voice inside his head. "We need to talk"
Again, Nick pulled a ninja move, jumping back. Staring at Lancer, he spoke.
"Since when were you telepathic?"
Lancer looked confused. "Never was."
Nick just sighed. He could not deal with this right now. "Well, you wanted to talk. I'm going to guess its about why you look like..." Waving his hands around, he couldn't find an appropriate word in English. Or Hindi, for that matter. "Can't be that bad."
--------------------
It was bad. Now sitting down, Nick buried his face in his hands. Why. He needed more than painkillers. He needed Tylenol.
"So. You go out because you sensed an enemy servant, get your butt kicked by Berserker, reveal the fact you can summon lightning. Then ANOTHER Servant shows up, identifies servant 1 as Berserker. Berserker then makes a lighting tornado, and then just goes bye. After which, you do the only smart move you've done so far, and also disappear."
Lancer at least looked somewhat sorry. "I apologize master if my actions were... deemed risky. At least though, we know what Berserker and his master look like."
Lancer did have a point.
"And the mystery servant? The "Team Dai Gurren one?" The words sounded strange on his tongue. Lancer shrugged his shoulders. "It shouldn't be too hard to figure out his identity. A lucky error for us."
Nick sighed. "We can figure out this craziness later. Let me just do some healing on you, and then its school for me."
"For us, master. Ill be coming with you." Lancer already holding up a hand against Nick's protests. "Look, master. The Dai Gurren Master was easily school age, and you said there were a lot of mages in this town. There is a good chance that an enemy master, with or without his or her servant could be at this school."
As much as he wanted to argue, Lancer made a good point.
"Sure then. I should have a spare uniform... It would probably be too big on you though. Lets me just heal you, and we'll be on our way. But how do you plan to get in? Wouldn't enemy servants be able to sense you?"
Lancer gave a flicker of a smile, his small white scar on his lip turning up. "Let's just say I have an ability that should allow me inside and protect me."
"I'll pretend I don't know who you are when the police come calling. Should save me some hassle."
------------
With a physical Jason accompanying him, Nick set out for John the Baptist Academy, thinking that there would most likely be no fellow masters attending the school. What were the odds?
