I would generally agree. I think its good to honor reservations, not that you have to hold the spot either indefinently. Could be good for people to 'reserve' a spot but leave it open for others to apply just make it so they compete for the spot and the better sheet is chosen. It doesn't lock off a class that way but still at least give a person who reserved a spot and works on a character not to get screwed over when someone slaps together a half baked sheet in a few minutes or doesn't cause someone to just rush their sheet to get the spot they want.

As far as the RP goes with Darkness vs Light, we could also go about having particular enemies being controlled by the players with their 'main' just being the Light side. It does allow the creation of Dark servants and can lessen the load off of you as a GM just making it emphasized they aren't the main focus. if you do go that route. :P

Can't say I much favor that system but alright, ya're the GM.

Can't help it if I'm not terribly picky =P Rest assured, I'll do my best to try and fit everyone into the roles they want...but when it comes to competition...*shrug* As long as their character can fill all the requirements, they are generally accepted.

Does it count as cheating in the Grail War for my guy to hire thugs or send in some corporate henchmen to kill or rough up a rival knowing they probably couldn't use magic to retaliate?
It's considered dishonorable, but strictly speaking there are very few ways to cheat in the Holy Grail War. Of the top of my head...

--> Attacking the overseers or those under their protection who gave up on the war
--->Involving unrelated civilians
---->Attempting to use magic to manipulate the grail or that is forbidden by the grail
--->A ruler class servant trying to take the grail for themselves

And even those I don't recall having actually being punished, except for the last one.

I'd question how you were even a prominent Magus in high society if you were to stoop that low. You would be a massive outcast and looked down upon by Magus society and wouldn't be getting very far having absolutely no pride at all to do that. There was a reason Kiritsugu was looked at generally with disdain for using a gun and he was more taken out of a move of desperation to try and win the war. He wasn't in high society though himself as much as being basically a hired mercenary.

Like I can't emphasize how dishonorable and how much he would be looked down up Magus society. To them wealth means nothing compared to their pride as Magus and their standing within the society. There is a reason why Rin's family ended up the way it is even with how messed up it really was.

I'll be sure to wait for reservations.

I'm definitely considering that route. It would depend on the number of players that apply. Players that can't squeeze their Servant/Master in side goodie two shoes can certainly do in side world destruction.

Killerclown Killerclown

Depends on who you ask, but there's no overseer in this war...so no, it's not cheating^^

You'll just probably piss off the more honorable guys.

I'm also down for taking a Master, by the way. Had ideas for that too, thematically fitting with the overall fuck-up-dness of the Nasuverse. Mainly, my intention is to Nasu-fy (is that even a word? I guess it is now,) a typical druid you see in D&D, by having his Magic Crest actually be a thorny, vine-shaped magical parasite living in the bodies of the family and being passed down and feeding off of their magic circuits.

In exchange, he can talk to animals and sense the suffering of plant life.

Fun stuff.

Ima take a rider spot if that is still available ^.^
I don't think anyone mentioned that spot? There is a chart set up over in the OOC thread that has what everyone is interested in as far as their various choices as far as what they might be interested in.

OMG finally a fate RP. You just want to show me off. As if! Besides it's O-C space O-N-L-Y so go away. *Turns back to thread* Sorry about that, definitely interested though. I want to play a servant, a berserker if that's fine.

Added to the list!

Any chance I could stake a claim on Berserker of Light?

Also, how often would you like folks to be posting?

2 times a week is a good number, I think. Though it'll depend on personal circumstances and the amount of interactions available to your character. I'll warn you if your character is about to die (generally if I haven't seen you/your character around enough).
