"Wait and Hope"
The Holy Grail War. A certain ritual that calls forth a chosen few to become the Masters of Servants, the long-dead heroes of ages past now granted a temporary existence in the world of the living. Those who claim the Grail are rewarded with a wish.
Through the machinations of a certain Magi, the once secretive ritual of the Three Families became widespread knowledge. Small scale conflicts have bloomed across the world throughout the 20th Century, yet none have ever managed to complete the ritual.
Through careful research and records of the Great Holy Grail War from the Mage's Association, it seems that a complete version of the ritual has been successfully replicated. The stage is a booming metropolis in the eastern United States known as Mayhunt. 7 Masters gather their 7 Servants. This is the Fourth Holy Grail War and only one pair will remain.
Fate/Crossed Souls
Well, I originally planned this as a 1x1, but I figured that converting it into a quest would give it some longevity. I've lurked around /tg/'s archives and have read a few quests, but running a quest is something new for me.
Gathering 14 players and having them kill each other off is a rather difficult task, so I felt that running this as a Quest or a 1x1 would be far easier. The format of a Quest also seemed more like the original VN, so bonus points for that.
As for the setting, I'm basing this off the Apocrypha universe wherein Darnic Prestone Yggdmillenia worked with Nazis to steal the Greater Grail from under Fuyuki after the Third Holy Grail War. As such, Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night never happened and multiple Subcategory Holy Grail Wars consisting of only 5 Servants and the inability to actual grant a wish have occurred throughout the 20th Century.
Of course, that's all just background information that goes beyond the scope of the VN/Anime adaptations. All you really need is a vague knowledge of Fate to enjoy this.
For this Quest, you'll be taking control of a female Master. As Fate/Prototype still hasn't been set into stone other than a sick concept video and a chapter in Fragments of Blue and Silver, I felt that having a female protagonist would make things more interesting. You'll be able to choose your alliances and your fights as you struggle to survive the Fourth Holy Grail War.

Currently, I'm debating on whether or not to include D20 DCs as a part of this quest. Part of me thinks that it'll put off potential players. The other half of me wants them in because it's always fun to see players freaking out over getting a critfail in combat or sacrificing things to the Dice Gods.
