Fat Gandalf's Bar & Lounge (OOC Chat) - Chapter Seven

<facepalm> I knew it. Mario's luck was going too good to last.

Just in case that Herc can't save the day - how many beds does Hitomi have in her medbay? We might get a few cases of food poisoning...

Thanks for making me feel sooooo much better! Mario's grandma is going to be rolling over in her grave for his mess-up!

I can imagine an Italian grandmother blaming herself for not giving Mario the Cooking Skill! I guess this is incentive for getting Mario that Cooking Skill after all? Or will he avoid cooking altogether (which I can't see any Italian-American doing)? =)

Sherwood? Remember, you can change color dice whenever you want! Just let me know. =)

Yeah, Hercules is not in the mood for gastroenteritis, so I’ll spend the Action Point and go full Chef Ramsey.
“This sauce is f***ing burnt! If you cook it at that high a temperature, you might as well make it a f***ing barbeque, you Muppet!”

Captain Hesperus

I am thinking that Mario overextended himself trying to cook for so many people; that is why he blew his roll.

C'est la vie! We will forgive him. ^33^

Yes, but will he forgive himself? He is Italian and we're talking about a family recipe for spaghetti after all!

O.K., Gang. I had to get the Beema-scene out of my head before I could post the results of the spaghetti scene (which I hope to post within 24 hours). I had enough energy and time to post one scene, so only one more to go! Hope you liked it! =) *insert Beema beaming smile here*

Is it possible for Toph to make a Perception roll to spot that the sauce is burning before it is all ruined? Just a thought.

Psychie Psychie Given Toph's Special Aptitude, I'd say the answer to that as a yes. But if it fails, she won't need to roll a second time! =) *The GM is grinning.*

Many months ago, when I created the Chessel Corporation in Veracruz run, I told myself that this mission would be the one surprise adventure I would spring on you and afterward, you could enjoy some serious uninterrupted downtime (which we are now just entering). In other words, I am not to spring any more such combat mission-related surprises that directly involve the Wild Cards on you. Instead, I would like for you to tell me when you are all willing to go back into the field.

The only things on my plate (that I can tell you about) are:
1. Beema's reaction to Herc's reply and... The Spaghetti Incident which I will attempt to do tomorrow.
2. Your in-character tour of the Broadsword (a "tell, don't show" kind of post which shouldn't take very long unless you want it to - if so, let me know).
3. Hitomi's little plan to prove to your relatives that your Characters are still alive without betraying the Broadsword or her crew.
4. Meeting the rest of the Broadsword crew (the humans who are still on ice).
5. Your training and integration into becoming UEEF Marines and becoming closer as a squad. I imagine this as another "tell, don't show" kind of big post perhaps with some interaction or not, depending on how you reply to this post. This is where the Wild Cards go through weeks of downtime as your Characters learn what it is to be UEEF Marines serving aboard a unique vessel like the Broadsword as she is meant to be - with her human crew, the Sams, and the Broo all together running around, doing their thing with you. Expect team-building, combat stress, and a heck of a lot of getting to know each other better.
6. Whatever else you guys are in the mood for (Sherwood, I still haven't forgotten that chat Piper wanted to have with Mario in reference to the idea of bringing Mario's father, a complete unknown, aboard the Broadsword as part of her crew - as you are aware, she's not really in a position to be having any such chat right now).

So let me know what (else) you're interested in doing or... if for some reason you are not interested in participating in any of the above, I'll "fast-forward" what I reasonably can.

Your thoughts, Gang? The more thoughts, the merrier. =)

Honor and fun,
Dann =)

That does seem like a pretty complete list from my perspective, at least for now - I'll let you know if something else comes to mind.

I am interested in all of the above. For #6, Elinor wants to get to a Technopathy "playground." She's also still fixated on volleyball for some reason and will probably find Sam at some point to scout possible courts...

I'd like to see some more mecha and personal combat, but I'm an action junkie and like tearing up the baddies. Other than that, I am loving the pacing of the game, along with the non-combat interactions between the various NPCs and player characters. Keep up the good work (even after I blew Mario's cooking roll!)

So not your fault - die rolls are what they are, Sherwood! I believe dice are in no way indicative of a Player-Character's intention, skill, talent, or anything of the like. They are simply tools of fate. And fate is one fickle mistress. =)

As for Mario hearing about this for a long time, I think if he does, it'll be mostly from his own head - the Wild Cards are just far too nice a people to give him hell about it (even the teasing kind). Remember the aftermath of teasing and jokes at Mario's expense after his actions put Mack in the Sick Bay? Neither do I because there weren't any. And if he had them coming, that was the time. This? This is spaghetti. Any teasing coming his way is purely light-hearted.

Face it - the Wild Cards are sticking to their alignments as a good-hearted bunch - just what we wanted here in Robotech: Broadsword. =)

You have touched on just about everything that is in my head, which is a scary thing considering that you do not want to be in there for any longer than you have to!

I do want to explore the possibilities of getting Zyorna out of the cryotubes, trying to get some means of doing so without killing her, be it from a discovery of her own doing or something from the ship, or even a raid on the bad guy Zentraedi to get the magic healing stuff. No matter what, getting her mom back is a high priority for Toph and she will be spending a lot of time doing research and sitting in the cryobay next to her mother's pod.

Ha ha ha! Psychie, I am laughing out loud! =)

...to get the magic healing stuff.
(ellipsis mine)

For your notes, the chemical compound required was referred to as "Isotope 9" or "Ice 9" (because there is a Joe Satriani jam by that name and I couldn't resist! And I was hoping someone would mention this without my having to. That is definitely an optional side quest for the Wild Cards to take when they want to.

"Ice 9 (from Satriani LIVE!)" by Joe Satriani

Ice 9 is an awesome guitar jam. I love it, and the whole album of Surfing With the Alien that it's on.

Surfing with the Alien remains my favorite album of Satch's. There's just so much good stuff on it! Circles, Ice 9, the title track, they just take me away! =)

While I love that album, my favorite album is Flying in a Blue Dream. It has so many great tracks on it I just love it.

Yes! That's my second-favorite. That title track comfortably pulls the rug out from under my Real Life whenever I listen to it. =)

He lets out a deep sigh, and says, "I'm sorry, guys. I thought I could handle things, but it does appear that this was just a bit too much for me to handle. I'll gladly accept any and all help in order to save dinner from being ruined for everyone."

"C'mon, Mario! Don't give up on us now! We are Wild Cards, and we never quit, especially on one another! Lets do this right this time!"

It seems that Mario not only is willing to continue leading the way, but in that he is willing to take any and all help - plus, that help is quite willing.
