Multiple Settings Fantasy, Slice of Life and other Original Delights

Genkai

- a shy snowfall -
Intro:

I am seeking a few partners for something original and cute and wholesome. I like fluff and the stakes to not be raised so high that the world is about to end. I'm after someone who is easygoing and enjoys a story where the characters grow and develop, fall down but then get back up. I am not looking for danger and deception and rage and people in peril all the time. Keep in mind, I have some light plot ideas but I prefer to create a setting and character organically with each partner, not force anyone into a story and idea already conjured up.

Ideal Partner:

Someone who can post a few times a week. I don't need a post every hour or even every day...or even every 2-3 days) but I would like around 3 posts a week on average. We all have lives so I don't need constant attention as long as we're keeping things moving at a good enough pace and stay in touch.

Someone who is into the cute, light side of things. I know dark plots with tons of tragic elements are popular but I am not looking to sink my teeth into something so harsh and depressing that I myself get sad. I want something fun, no it won't always be happy but I am not looking for dark plot. No thank you.

Someone that can play as a male. I am totally comfortable playing as male myself, however I have found a ton of people only saying they play a certain gender (usually it's the girls saying they can't play males if I'm being blunt here) and I'm not going to cater to that school of thought. I am woman and I play both genders. I am happy to double but if you approach me just looking to play a girl and get away with that, keep on reading honey. I want a dynamic cast, I'd love it if we could each play 2-4 characters each who come and go as needed, but at the very least I would like a male writer or someone into playing both genders as I am.

Someone who can post at least three paragraphs. I can give upwards of ten myself, but I don't like to unless I'm doing a summary or a skip. That said, I want someone who is passionate for writing and enjoys rich detail.

Someone who communicates well. If you have a problem, tell me and we can fix it together. If you have an issue and you hold onto your resentment, it is bound to come out in your writing. Or you'll ghost. Honestly, ghosting is okay in my book. I don't like it but it happens. But communication should prevent ghosting from happening. I'm patient and pretty flexible as a partner and most things I can go along with. But if making a story is hard, I will walk away so please be clear and be motivated and remember that both of us should be happy with our progression. Otherwise, what's the point?

Be open to maybe putting canon characters into original AU settings?

(Optional: Be Michael Fassbender)

Settings:

I like the modern world very much, like college or a small town or a big city. I am very familiar with Japan. I can also enjoy EU based settings too. I am kinda 'meh' on settings in America, maybe because I like in NA and find it boring.

Another setting might be modern day but with an emphasis on an online game. Think something akin to dot hack. So something light in sci-fi?

I also enjoy adding fantasy to the modern world but only in subtle ways like adding say bending (fire, water, air, earth) elements or maybe magical runes or spells (like Harry Potter?). However, I am totally down for a pure medieval fantasy setting too. I like small towns or small kingdoms, nothing too big that we can't handle the world building.

I like light historical fantasy like adding fantasy to say Victorian England or maybe it some kind of supernatural noir type thing.

Another possible setting would be going back and forth from fantasy to reality, I do enjoy that or some kind of mirror reality.

Dynamics:

I would love to play a witch or mage or sorceress either in a fantasy or modern fantasy setting. Maybe a princess mage?

I do like the idea of a female knight protecting a prince or perhaps the prince is some kind of noble thief come nightfall.

Perhaps a group of friends could band together in a modern story or fantasy and just go around helping people in various towns, a small quest type story could unfold?

I am a sucker for a fish out of water situation where someone from a fantasy world stumbles into the modern world or vice versa. Maybe some small scale prophecy leads the way for a plot.

I would love to play a diner owner in some rural part of Japan.

One gender pretending to be another is also fun (I blame 90s manga and k-dramas here) as long as the plot isn't just about a singular character's mastery of disguise. I would love to spin this in a fantasy way somehow.

Master/Student dynamics are fun, in any setting.

Pretending to be marriage or together is also a fun situation to put characters in and watch them actually catch feelings.

Closing:

So just some general musings. If anyone is interested in chatting more, please reach out. I'm pretty chill so if we wanna talk inspiration or fandom or hot celebs, let me know. Thank you.

I'll try to edit this as needed.

My interest is still primarily in fandom based RPs, however I have been considering getting back into original stories so hopefully I can.

Hi there, I'm very interested in rping with you, I play both genders but focus on male. I'm willing to do just about all of the ideas you posted. I can't PM yet so PM me if interested

Hello! I love your explanation of what you like and such, very detailed! I would love to figure out some ideas with you, if you'd like? :D
P.S: Adorer of Fluff (My profile should speak volumes XD), and am very interested in the whole "fish out of water" idea or the "Female knight guarding a prince" idea.

Resident male here. Ready to consume fluff. I would love to either do something modern or medieval with you

Thanks for reaching out to me! We can plot and figure out what we're most craving. We could even do both if we wanted to world hop?

Also, so glad to see guys enjoy some warm fuzzy feelings too!

Thank you so much.

I would love to do something like a female knight guarding a prince. Maybe the prince is from another world and is assumed a missing royal or something and is tasked to go to some kind of meeting across the kingdom to prove he is who the kingdom is searching for (he could or couldn't be) and my character could be protecting him and ensuring he gets there okay, or finds a way back home instead?

I'm just throwing that idea together though, we don't have to run with it! :)

OH.. MY. GOSH. You lovely little person, I love it. Hahaha XD

No, but seriously. I really like that idea. It could give the idea the prince has to learn to adapt to a whole new life or certain way he's foreign too. And the knight could possibly see the prince isn't one of those "butter my crumpet and serve me hand and feet peasants" type of prince. Someone who is genuine and not afraid to fight for anyone be it rich or poor. I really like this idea!

The only part I'm not sure I can live up to is 3 paragraphs per post. Personally I think it's possible to write a lot and not really advance the story to where it's just paragraphs of purple prose but I do try and advance the plot, I just like to give a "break" to let my partner react (especially in dialogue scenes) But to make up for that I tend to post pretty regularly (several times in the same day if we're both online and responding)

If you're still interested in rping despite that then I do have a story idea I think could be fun and coincidentally overlaps with you wanting to play a witch in a modern setting ^^ Well, a witch in her early twenties owns a cute little coffee and baked goods shop. She has no idea she's a witch until one day when she's cooking and accidentally mixes in a strange ingredient, turning it into a magical potion/food. She tries to discover what other kinds of potion combinations she can create and she hires a struggling college kid to do "drug testing". He tries her potions and she assesses the side-effects as well as helps him get back to "normal".

I think it could be super light-hearted and fun ^^ but if you'd like, you're more than welcome to change aspects of that story.

Aww shucks hehe. You're making me blush.

You mean he doesn't want her to butter his crumpet? xD

Ahem. If he is from a modern era much like our own, he probably would have a more progressive stance on say equality be it regarding gender and income and economics and such, so that would make sense. I think it would take a while for my knight to accept that she doesn't have to do too much doting on the guy as he's clearly not what she or anyone expected. But it does give us a lot of room to bring in other roles. Maybe people who want to kidnap the guy and hold him for ransom or people from the knight's past coming into contact with her when she's given this pretty important job. We could do a lot with it, then there's the idea if he found a way home, we could bring the knight along and go back and forth between worlds?

I don't think I can promise multiple posts a day unless it's say, discord but even then I'm lucky if I can get 1-2 out a day. I will be honest and say some posts that only give 1-2 paragraphs can struggle to hold my attention and inspire me. I've gotten older so I like to ensure when I am writing, it's time well spent. And for me 1-2 paragraphs may not take me long but then it feels like the story might be spinning its wheels and lack a lot of emotional detail. I understand people like quality for quantity but I've noticed some (not all of course) who say they post less, still end up fluffing up those posts and leave me with the heavy lifting, so to speak.

I don't know if I really like the experimenting plot, it could turn a little...odd, to put it plainly? I do like the idea of a modern day witch those, I love playing witches and I do like the idea of a guy helping her out. But I don't know if I like the idea of a story hinging upon a single character's fate, if that makes sense? We could try to figure something else out though. Maybe some kind of modern day magical school?

O///////////O Oh..

Gah! B-besides that.. >///< I was thinking more of a noble scion, but more humble and understanding compared to maybe more imagined pompous or selfish royals who are narcissistic. Like the common trope where all these princes are just jerks and there's the one hidden sweetheart you finally notice and it's like "WOAH. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" I could definitely see a kidnapping or ransom like situation happening involving the prince and the knight's past would be a good touch on her character to elaborate some hidden backstory if she wasn't willing to share with the prince. Yes! That'd be so cute!

I unfortunately have to get ready for work DX (It's approx. 2:32pm where I am) I can gladly reply with what quality you are expecting, or at least I think I can >///<"
If you need more than requested, I am more than glad to accommodate. Just shoot me a PM and we can discuss further details if you are interested in having me as a partner. I'd be honored ^///^

Ven Hopeful Youth Ven Hopeful Youth Sounds like you work around the same time I do, albeit a few hours before me but at least I got dressed already so I'm already winning. I'll drop you a PM shortly, I hope work doesn't suck! We can discuss characters more in depth as well as a general starting point, among other stuff later. I'm pretty patient so no need to rush or feel hassled to drop everything and reply to me (unless it's like a hot potato then drop it like it is in fact hot). Erm, anyway I'll talk to you soon!

Oh, what a coincidence. And haha, yep winning already XD. Sounds wonderful! And thank you, work can be a bit stressful but it pays. That sounds lovely, and I appreciate your patience and maturity of the matter. I will reply to you when I am available and we can discuss probably more of a scheduling in terms of how often we post or such if that is relevant to our ideas. (Sorry, no potato XD) Hehe, have a good day! Talk to you soon!

Ah I see. Well that's ok ^^ It sounds like we're probably looking for somewhat different things. Good luck with your search though.

So, what if we have a giant end up in the middle of a small town, or near a forest, and then one of the humans befriends them, despite everybody else being afraid.

AgentFire AgentFire I don't think I'd be interested in that, it's bit more 'out there' than I think I'm comfortable with. Thanks for the offer though.

Honestly, I prefer DiCaprio myself.
I generally check out on your "ideal partner" list, but I will say: I don't necessarily know how to play a female character. Just in the sense of "never done it before." I can do males easy. I've never doubled, but I am pretty curious. As for settings? Fantasy is love and live. So are video games. So are both. I don't have time today, but I just had to stop by. Maybe sometime later?
