Fantasy Roleplay Starter

I noticed you as you keep glancing behind us as we walk. Sensing a need to.start a conversation I force myself to talk.

"Are you okay?" I say and scan you up and down noting the uneasiness.

"You seem a bit spooked to say the least. Whatever it was that we say is probably long gone now."

I forced myself to say that last part partly yo comfort you but also to reassure my own uneasiness as well.

I laugh nervously as I turn my attention to you.

"Trust me, if it's what I think it is, it's not gone. Not yet."

I let out a nervous sigh, still walking along the path, my ball of light the only way we can see well. I eventually manage to calm myself down a deal, and focus on getting through the forest alive. However, I find my attention being drawn again towards you. I watch you from my pace behind as we walk, examining your features again. The way the hips sway when-

I quickly shake my head and dispose of these thoughts. I am a man of Light; the views of the flesh shall not tempt me! I instead let out a small cough, my cheeks still tinged slightly red, and decide to make light conversation.

"So what do you plan to do if we are able to heal you?"

I walk a few moments more in silence, your question hitting home and making me think. What would I do if I'm healed, I've spent so long like... like I am, would I still be the same afterwards.

"I'm... I'm not sure, I've never given that idea much thought until now that you mentioned it." I let out a sign to myself.

"I've been like this for so long, I don't know what it would be like to change you know." I saw in an innocent voice.

I shake my head clear of the thousands of thoughts running through my head.

"That is if you can in fact figure out how to heal me."

I nod slowly, listening to your response carefully.

"Aye. If I find what I need, and get the answers I want."

I didn't respond, nodding slightly but other than that I turn away in an effort to hide my face. My emotions peaked again but I kept silent.

"Something about him makes me feel comfortable despite him being an actual living, breathing person. It's rather strange but I think I can put a little trust in him." I think to myself knowing that Paladins don't usually go back on their word.

Arriving at the clearing I had noticed earlier was rewarding, the sweet light breeze had found its way back again. It blew with all but a whisper causing a few strands of my hair to sway with it.

High in the sky hung the twin moons, one a deep red and the other a golden yellow. Each shining brightly in the sky.

"It's quiet." I mumble, enjoying the sweet quiet of the night.

I step forward, ever wary, as my little ball of light finally fizzles out, and we are left with nothing but the light from the moon to keep us company.

"Aye. Maybe a little too quiet..."

I keep my hand on my mace, another sense of unease covering me as I look up at the moon.

I see your uneasiness but don't know what to say to help you calm down. I channel my True Sight again and look you up and down. The aura emanating from your body appeared a faint orangish red, agitated but within normal limits for the living. As to not arouse suspicion I quickly stop channeling, my eyes returned to their pale grey.

"The living, their auras are far too complicated..." I say in my mind before smiling slightly. The living had completely different auras as opposed to the undead. We don't appear are bright reds or oranges but rather dark blues and sometimes, often rarely purple.

"Are you alright?" I ask genuinely.

I look back at you rather non chalantly, then continue scanning the area.

"No. Something is following us, I know it. It's just bidding it's time. I can't afford to relax and enjoy the scenery right now when there's a chance someone could jump out and slit both our throats."

I bring a bit more magic into my hand, preparing to cast another Hover-Light, then hesitate.

"Well, it probably won't matter much to you. You're dead."

I grin, unsure whether to take that as an insult or compliment.

"Indeed, however I do have some knowledge of how the slitting of one's throat feels..." I say and walk a few paces ahead without another word.

In my head though for some reason I begin to feel... surprised? Irritation? I couldn't quite point the right feeling out easily so I let it go.

No point in getting worked up over what was probably just a harmless comment.

I step a few paces closer, summoning another Hover-Light as I do so.

"I've been meaning to ask...do undead feel pain?"

I turn to you with a neutral expression at I explain my answer.

"We feel a certain level of pain, yes. For an Undead, being stabbed by a conventional weapon comes off as a dull sensation rather then true pain. It's what gives us our well known tolerance to bodily damage. Certain magics however do cause quite a bit of discomfort."

I would nod, looking back up at the moons.

".....I'm sorry to inform you that, if I do find the way to heal you...it's probably not going to feel very good. There's a good chance you....die for good in the process."

[QUOTE="Mora Ghostsong]From the outside it looks pleasant, cheerful and colorful. Bricks and huge, stone pillars make up most of the building's outer structure.
It's impossible to see through the closed windows, but the energy and excitement from within can be felt outside.

As you enter the tavern through the heavily used, metal door, you're welcomed by aromas of roasted meats and the strong smell of alcohol.

The bartender is a little preoccupied, but still manages to welcome you with a short wave.

It's as lovely inside as it is on the outside. Squared, wooden beams support the upper floor and the sconces attached to them. The walls are littered with so many different kinds of memorabilia, you're not sure if they tried going for a specific style at one time or just put up anything they like.

The tavern itself is packed. Travelers seem to be the primary clientele here, which often means great company. Several long tables are occupied by, what seems to be entire families, all enjoying the food, drinks and company of each other. The other, smaller tables are also occupied by people who are indulging in great food and drinks, while some do try to strike a conversation, others can barely speak a word between eating what must be delicious food. Even most of the stools at the bar are occupied, though nobody seems to mind more company.

You did hear rumors about this tavern, supposedly it's famous for something, but you can't remember what for. You manage to spot a seat by one of the smaller tables towards the back of the bar. However, the tables other seat is occupied by a rather mysterious, quiet woman clad in a midnight black hooded cloak. Her head is down, hiding much of her full face, her eyes focused on the mug or ale in her hand. Resting comfortablely against the side of her chair must have been her weaponry. A long, slim black bow and matching quiver full of finely honed arrows.

You wonder to yourself whether it would be a good idea to take a seat next to the mysterious out of place woman.

This sounds awesome

Thank you very much. I'm glad you found it interesting. I strive very hard to make good, detailed roleplaye starters. To keep the details are what really sets the mood in the beginning. :)

I nod at you as you explain.

"Ah, I see. Wouldn't want it to be too simple for me."

I turn away before speaking again. This time in a slightly anxious tone.

"From here, how close are we to that came according to your map?"

I would reach into my pocket again and pull out the slip of paper, looking it over.

".....Hard to say. Perhaps half a mile?"

We're close then," I reply as I point towards the edge of the clearing.

"Beyond the edge of the clearing is still quite unfamiliar terrain to me. You will have to lead me... us to the cave."

Deep down inside of me I was both nervous at what we might discover at the same time however, my excitement was slowly increasing. I was looking forward to a real fight and if what you said was true then whoever was there would be well fortified.

Plenty of targets to fill with arrows.

I nod grimly, shoving the piece of parchment back into my pocket. I start walking, motioning for you to follow me as I head to the clearing. Despite me being so on edge before, I now feel a bit more relaxed. It appears that whatever was following us has given up for now.

"I've never been to this before, you know."

I try to bring up conversation as we march.

"We're walking into this completely blind."

I chuckle at the irony. Two obviously powerful individuals, one, a holy warrior of the light and the other a matron of the dark so to speak joined together with a common goal in mind. Facing an unknown enemy in the slightest hope that we find what we're looking for. Could prove to be interesting to say the least.

"Whatever or whoever is waiting for us will be in for a nasty surprise. Plus, I am for some reason looking forward to seeing you in battle. I can't explain the curiosity but..." My voice training off. I eye you, your armor, the way it hung on your muscular body. Both terrifying to an undead like myself but in a way also quite fascinating.

"Unless of course you'd come up with a plan when we get there." I jokingly say.

I shrug, glancing at you as we walk.

"I might. It all depends if these guys are stupid or not and their abilities in combat. If the rumors are true and we charge in, I'd say it would be a challenging fight."

"Indeed." I reply. Walking a few steps behind you. Within no time we reached the edge of the clearing and soon we were back into the thickness of the forest again.

I channeled my True Sight again, my eyes shifting color as my vision began to register aural energy. Beyond us I could make out vague shapes, each moving by means of two legs and... away from us. Their auras were pale yellow, not hostile but certainly not calm.

Not taking any chances that might ruin our element of surprise I stop suddenly, crouch and point in the direction of the shapes.

"Get down," I say in a low voice.

"I saw something, could be an animal, could be a person..."

I crouch immediately and shudder a little.

"Or a Spider! Eugh!"

I grip my mace tightly and keep my other hand at the ready for any need of magic.

"You and your spiders," I say, shaking my head lightly and rolling my eyes.

"Besides it was walking upright from the split second I had sight of it." I turn my head towards you.

"Unless spiders have suddenly thought two legs are better than eight it can't be them." I say again in a teasing manner before letting out a small chuckle.

"Besides a spider's aura would show up differently anyways."

Completely forgetting the fact that you may or may not have an idea what I mean when I mention auras.
