Fantasy Fantastical Fantasy Questing- A fight against the Lord of Evil!!

-)) Phosphoryl Cave ((-

Hides held his frustrations in his gritted, needle-like teeth, snarling ever so slightly.
"Yes, hides follow."

He stormed off from blaire, following after Aru to a safe distances, his ghostly tribesmen begun to fade, no longer glowing, infact... it was difficult to see they were even there in this dark.

"Tribe follow."

"No problem with you Aru, or your plan." She said deciding to stop outright insulting Hides as she walked towards the rest of the group. Blaire got the feeling that if they waited around for too long they'd all start attacking again like last time. So she stepped forward from the corner very slowly, it was dark but it wasn't pitch black in the room. She could make out a few fluttering shapes as she walked around the infested room slowly with her back pressed against the wall. She eyed a few moving objects before flicking her wrist forward at them. A small shard of ice materialised from her fingers and impaled a bat, she made sure that she shot at a close one so that when it fell to the floor she was quickly able to just freeze its entire body over so that it didn't make a noise if the impaling didn't kill it.

After a few more bats successfully killed Blaire finally paid mind to the brood mother. It was hulking compared to the other bats, though she could barely make out any features save from its bulk. Blaire shivered both from the decreasing temperature in her fingers and the thought of having to fight something like that in a room this size. She had hoped that the others were doing okay as she proceeded to continue her part of the plan as quietly as possible.

'Aru' started to channel their magic as soon they'd gotten the parties confirmation, they were certainly rusty, and it took a lot out of them, but they managed to cast a pretty good (in their opinion) spell that'd keep them from being spotted. Of course, the paranoia in their host was dragging down their spells performance, but so long as no one did anything too noticeable it would serve it's purpose. With the spell being cast and slowly draining their energy levels, they started making their way in, pressing themselves against the walls as they did their best to kill as many of the small outer critters as possible.

So far their plan was working rather well, and Blaire wasn't being a complete show-offy moron this time around. Though the real Aru in the back was starting to effect their concentration with his paranoia, it wasn't making itself a big problem yet. Though, 'Aru' was already starting to get worried, which didn't help much. They just hoped that nothing went seriously wrong.

Hides was struggling, wxpending almost every ounce of concentration he had to mainting his current summons, and manually controlling the forms of six goblin spirits was taxing him at a rate he didn't know possible.

Looking through the rats eyes he saw the humans were doing exceptionally well!
Blaire was even managing to restrain herself.
Then suddenly his vision waned... he knew he didn't have long left... it seemed like they were done with the outer critters, they just had the babies and the brood mother herself...

Under Hides control the rat lept away from the humans and carefully skittered over to the brood mother, still asleep it seemed, but something felt off... he couldn't quite place it, it felt like he was being watched... stalked almost.

Then suddenly and with a sharp pain, like lighting in his skull, Hides lost vision. With that moments distraction the spirits immediately lit up, they must have scared some of the young bats as they started crying out for protection.

Hides knew what had happened, a young bat must have been old enough to practice hunting, and decided the rat was easy prey... he wasn't expecting that.

He rushed into the chamber and unfortunately became the first thing for the now awake- and infuriated -brood mother to see.

With an ear piercing screech she rose up to full hight, standing just shy of an adult human... there were even more scars then Hides had seen previously, on her underside there were even the broken stumps of arrows still imbedded in its hide.

"Broko da leckta nack!" Hides screamed back, the brood mother lowered into a pouncing stance, before sniffing the air...
Twirling around she saw the two humans closing in and screeched again, somehow this one seemed more like a weapon.
Hides felt his nose bleed while it screamed- his ears ringing so loud he stopped even hearing the broodmother herself.
Hides didn't know what to do, he willed his bone serpant to harass the brood mother, its sharp bones slashing at it relentlessly, and to his horror, realised it did nothing.
The brood mother turned her attention back to him, growling savagely... and he froze.

"Hides... die?"

Blaire rushed her hands to either side of her head an covered her ears with tremendous force as the brood mother screeched. Luckily her screech was only short lived, but the supposed luck was just a facade when Blaire had realised why. "Damn it, it was all going so well..." She muttered before jutting her hand forward and prepared to cast a huge ice attack, it was then that Blaire realised she didn't have her wand. She'd left it in the cave leading up to the room. Her eyes widened with disbelief, she couldn't make it past the brood mother to go and get her wand without a distraction. But it also looked like if something wasn't done quick then Hides was going to die. Blaire furrowed her eyebrows and pouted as an idea formed in her head.

Immediately she placed both of her hands on the floor and sent a relatively thick layer of ice all around the floor that the awakened beast was standing on. Blaire hoped that it slipped trying to catch her as she began to bolt towards the exit of the room to try and find her wand. As another means of distraction she casted up the same very thin piercing icicles she had used on the smaller bats and launched them at the mother.
"Guys! I'm gonna go get my wand, cover me!" She screamed with adrenaline rushing through her, she probably wouldn't be able to make it past the mother if they didn't distract it so her plan was entirely in the hands of a party that didn't like her too much. She could already feel her right hand and arm going numb, she'd have to use her left arm to hold her wand once she found it or she would probably freeze her right arm completely.

'Aru' took in a deep breath, doing their best not to scream themselves as the brood mother yelled something fierce. Of course, the other Aru in their head just had to scream, leaving their head with a painfully cruel headache. They then watched the mess that unfurled, Mr. Moronic Goblin had ran into the room aggroing the brood mother to himself, then Blaire, (after getting back into their good graces too) had actually forgotten her wand in the other room.

They had expected her just to not use it, not to leave it! How stupid was that girl?! Anyways, to continue their little summary, there was the entire issue of the real one starting to give the warning, that meant they only had so long to actually kill this thing. The entire debauchal forced the magic they'd been using to stop abruptly, which made them extremely tired automatically. Using what little energy they had left, they rushed the brood mother, taking a stab at her. Leaving only a small cut in it's hide, and effectively switching aggro onto himself. -You're welcome you merry band of idiots!- ('that's kind of cruel, don't you think?' Aru questioned) that's exactly why i'm thinking it, moron! 'Aru' thought to himself, getting pissed off at the others interruption of his final one-liner.

The Brood Mother swings around and hisses at Aru, taking a tumble as the fingers on its wings failed to grip the ice.
Falling to its side, its eyes open as wide as they could, pupils shrunk to tiny black pinpoints.
releasing another screech it catches it's grip and lunged at Aru, it's full body weight forcing his worn body to the ground.

"HUMAN! NOT DIE!" Hides waved his staff at the beast, and his bone serpent wrapped around it, for a brief moment, it was restrained.
"RUN, NOT LONG WORK!"

The Brood mother screeched again, thrashing wildly trying to break free of the serpents grip, the one assigned to Blaire floated out in front of her like a shield to deflect the debris it's thrashing threw up, while the one tied to Aru dragged him out quite roughly from under the beast.

The tribe kin of Hides dived onto the bat, stabbing wildly and laughing manically. though it didn't seem to do much more then annoy it. Their spectral forms lit the oversized flying rodent up, thankfully keeping it in view at all times.

Blaire didn't stop to see if her attempt to slip it up worked, she didn't even notice the debris that her bone serpent had saved her from. She was too fixated on finding her wand again, she felt around desperately in the dark corridor before feeling the cold metal of her handle. She smiled and let out a cheer before returning to the room and seeing the chaos that Hides' kin had whipped up.
"Thanks for distracting the target, but listen to me! Both of you get behind me right now!" Blaire said with a smirk on her face. It was apparent that their attacks weren't doing much to the monster, she knew that she'd be able to at least put a dent in it with her most powerful spell. She knew that she'd be pretty much useless after, so if the bat survived this attack she was probably going to die.

"Move now!" Blaire thrusted her wand forward with both hands on the handle, her feet firmly planted into the ground as she began to prepare her spell. She felt the ice magic running through her blood stream as her wand began to glow wildly.
"Light brighter than the shimmer of the Snowberian ice, i beseech you, come to me and merge with my desire for your destruction. Bring a freezing vengeful demise to this horrid beast, destroyed by the elegant, wrathful and unmatched: Ice Storm!"

With a slight delay after she finished, a huge amount of large sharp icicles surrounded by swirling hail was sent flying at extremely quick speeds straight from the tip of her wand. Blaire hadn't taken notice if her party had moved or not but she hoped they did. She was being pushed back as she continued the blast of all her magic- feeling her feet and arms go numb. She kept streaming it forward until she felt her face begin to freeze up, which was about seven seconds after she started the spell. Blaire had filled the whole room with a pile of ice and she couldn't make out whether she killed the bat or not. All she could really think about right now was how cold she was, she was shivering on the spot as she pressed her hand to her face to find that a patch of ice had emerged on her cheek. She was almost unable to stand given the numbness in her feet. There was no way she could use her magic immediately again without any serious recoil damage.

'Aru' waited not for either of Blaires or Hides tellings to run, they just did. At almost supernatural speeds, they appeared behind Blaire as she began casting the ice spell, covering the entire room. 'Aru' was just glad they'd gotten off the floor in time, the real one had really chosen a great party. That much was clear, clear enough so that even the fake could see. Though the superhuman speed did help, quite a bit.

When the room was entirely covered with ice, completely frozen over. 'Aru' felt their vision begin to darken as they saw the brood mother's demise, being completely frozen over along with the rest of the room. It didn't seem like she could break out of it, so now seemed like the perfect time to...

Such was the last thought of 'Aru' before it switched back to Aru, their eyes returning to their original purple as they looked on the scene. Paranoia already beginning to set in, they were far too tired to fight again. The possession had taken far too much out of them and completely exhausted his reserves. It was a miracle Aru was even able to stand up by himself, and Daemon/Damon seemed to have passed out, highlighted by the fact they didn't comment on how they just wanted Aru to pick one name.
They just prayed no other kind of twist would reveal itself. If any gods were out there, please...

Hides panted, trying hard to catch his breath behind Blaire, having just made it behind her area of effect before the spell went off.
Impressed by the sheer power of her spell, if Blaire had some proper practice with her magic she would truly become a force to be reckoned with, but looking at her battered body- mostly of her own doing- he wondered if she would live long enough to get there.

His attention shifted, and he stared at the brood mother, seemingly frozen to death, it's eyes staring at the party and still somehow full of malice, like they were still watching him. It was unsettling to him immensely to say the least.
Hides felt Aru had change too, somehow... he still couldn't figure it out, but his very presence seemed to have shifted. Some deep instinct, or perhaps the cries of his ancestors.
Whatever it was, he just felt it in his gut that Aru was not JUST Aru... but he held his suspicions to himself, a lingering stare was his only tell at this stage and he intended to keep it that way, lest he was wrong.
Collapsing to his knees, the exhausted body of his dropped its hold over the spells he had cast... the tribe faded like smoke into the air, as the bone serpents simply collapsed into inert bones

"long way to go... but humans do good, Hides help humans."
weakly raising his hands, and chanting softly under his breath, a warm glowing tendril glides through the air towards Blaire and Aru, it's touch seems to ease their exhaustion and pain, though it wasn't by a lot.

"Hides, not... Not so strong as also."
He chuckled weakly, gesturing to the exit of the cave and beginning to drag himself out when he heard a cracking noise behind him. Turning in horror, he saw the Brood mothers Ice coffin was breaking, her wing had freed itself and was flailing wildly about, rocking itself back and forth.
The iced beast toppled over before Hides even had a chance to react, its frozen prison shattering across the floor taking large tuft of it's fur with it.
Shrieking it charged at the group, slashing at the dirt and biting at the air wildly, when suddenly it seemed to veer off course crashing into the dirt not a few feet from the group and falling limp for a few moments.
weakly it heaved, and moaned... trying in vain to slash and bite at the trio from the ground... the beast may have had one last burst of energy... but it was most certainly going to die of it's wounds.
It's pathetic attempt to kill the group sent a chill down Hide's spine.
just a few moments earlier this creature could very well have killed one of them, and yet here it was... no more threatening then a child's doll.

"Hides... not comfortable with this..."

Blaire could feel her insides warming up when Hides used his tendrils of pain relief to ease up the party's wounds. Though she could feel like she could walk okay enough after his healing, she still felt incredibly cold to the point of a painful stinging in her extremities.
"T-thank you..." She muttered with a soft stuttering voice towards Hides. "W-well, we're done here..." Blaire began to walk out of the scene, trying not to think too much about how the brood mother seemed to have reanimated pathetically after her spell. It was an unsettling sight to see for sure but right now her priority was getting back to Stornway and heating herself up. Amongst all the conundrum of the fight Blaire had actually dropped all of the contents of the hot water she was carrying just to thaw herself out- she was upset by this as that was her entire plan to be able to thaw out but clearly in a fight situation it wasn't practical.

She trudged as she walked towards the exit, stumbling a few times before she became frustrated with the hassle. "Could one of you help me?" She said weakly with an almost vacant stare turning to her party members. Hopefully they were able to see past her prior rudeness and help her now.

Aru laughed rather dryly at the flailing thing that used to be the deadly brood mother, now reduced to nothing more then a doll who'd be dead soon. His laughter continued on until the brood mother finally stopped flailing, when he finally calmed down and realized the gravity of the situation. Which was really rather heavy, given the fact that Daemon/Damon (silence....) was completely passed out. Aru barely even noticed the tendrils from Hides that helped ease his pain, but nothing could fill the silence in his mind. Well, not unless he were to go absolutely crazy. Which he wasn't.

Aru sighed to himself, smiling to try and keep up a cheery mood. He held out his arm for Blaire to lean on, though he was equally exhausted, it always helped to help out a teammate! Besides, Blaire looked kind of dead inside, he couldn't let her go on like that. He wanted to help, he needed to help! It was just the way he was born. Even if helping her get back was all Aru could really do. That was all he needed to achieve a level of renewed energy, he was even kind of glad Daemon/Damon was quiet. His partner was insanely annoying anyways.

Hides, was not quite tall enough to help Blaire and Aru, so instead he ran ahead, moving corpses and rolling rocks out of that way to keep the path as level and easy to walk through as possible, here and there he found a few trinkets, mostly brass lockets and a few scattered coins... likely here well before the bats settled in.

Reaching the mouth of the cave, Hides quickly opened his pack and pulled out his bed roll and set to making camp under the shelter.
As the other two caught up he had finally gotten the fire to catch, and ushered them to sit.
"Looks like human not control ice well, Blaire must rest, Aru..."

He paused a moment, it was as if Aru finally seemed... quiet, spiritually.
Hides felt like he was on to something now, and waved Aru over to sit by the fire as well.

"Must tell Hides how you did War Trance. Not act like Aru, Act like warrior!"

Sitting by the fire himself, he reached into his pack and pulled out a few moldy loaves of bread, one had a few maggots crawling in it, that was for Hides, and he greedily bit into it holding the other two out for the humans.
