Fantasy Fantastic Desolator: Realm of Hrenna

"No, but I assume that, since you're here, we share a common goal," the man says. "I have heard about the dragon here as well. After all, dragons, ironically, aren't something that go right over people's heads. In the sense of the proverb, of course." The man steps towards the group. " Hayden Alabaster, at your service." Hayden respectfully bows to Momoka.

"Hello, Haruto. Hello, Momoka," he says to the two. "You must be the warrior of this group," he says to Haruto, and then he turns to Momoka "and by the looks of you, you seem to be a master of reagents."

He then speaks to the group as a whole,"So, I already know why you're here, as in what brings you here, but the real question is: why are you here? As in, what is your motivation to come all this way?"

"Ah, we're here on a quest to slay the dragon. I sought new adventures, and a chance to make friends and money, which is why I came along." Momoka stated.

"Once again, I state that I know about the dragon. Either way, that seems like a fair enough reason to go on an adventure. I'm... Not sure about the feasibility of starting with a dragon, but if you feel you're capable, then so be it."

"Oh, well we've got a top-class Blood Hunter here with us, so I'm sure we'll be fine." Momoka assured him.

"I normally travel alone. Bad experiences with having friends. I can, however, accompany you in defeating this dragon," he says. He then begins a different thought, saying,"You know, you are by far the calmest group of adventurers I've ran into. I've seen much more seasoned groups--not to say that you aren't seasoned, mind you-- that have instantly barraged me with arrows the second they saw me."

"Twenty years ago, I would've agreed with you. However, we live in a day and age where, if you aren't paranoid, you're often dead. A six-foot tower of steel and gold is likely going to be worth as much caution as an eight-foot orc decorated in skulls and iron plate."

"In the time it takes to make a rational decision, you could be torn in half, eaten, burnt, shot, stabbed, and paralyzed... sometimes all at the same time. Many have found it safer to act on instinct. I personally hope such thinking doesn't continue, I can only imagine the unnecessary deaths it has caused..."

"Yet, such luxuries some do not have. I myself have still found myself on some occasions more reflexive than rational, as ashamed as I am to admit it. Anyway, shall I meet your... 'Blood Hunter'?"

"'Scrubs'? Nevermind," Hayden says, trying to decipher the word 'scrubs'.

I look up at the Blood Hunter. "Are you the 'first-class Blood Hunter' they speak of?"

I follow the group to the entrance.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I know from experience that I should probably make sure: don't take so much as a coin from the dragon stash until it's dead."
