Personality:
Much like her mother, Natasha grew up to be quite the steam roller, paving her way through life despite all of the loss and hardships she's faced without losing her smile. Despite the reputation of the Sullivans and her connection to them, Natasha has a lot of friends in Dublin because of her open and warm personality. She's charming like both of her parents and quick in the game of conversation. Unlike her brother, who has a pretty short attention span, Natasha has a knack for learning new things and found school enjoyable. In school, she was part of the "popular" crowd but was never snobbish or cruel to those who were not, which set her apart from the other people in that crowd. When someone needed to be defended especially her friends, Natasha was quick to act though when she fought with someone it was never through anything physical. She has a way with words, able to talk situations down before they escalate into something regrettable which has saved many people in the past from getting into a heap of trouble whether it be with their parents or the law.
Despite being likeable, popular, and taking after her parent's gorgeous looks, Natasha finds herself feeling very vulnerable and alone. She has self-esteem issues that she fights pretty hard to conceal not so much with the way she looks but what she can do. Ever since her father passed, everyone has felt the need to protect her in some sort of way, constantly taking care of her and coddling her, making her feel like everyone thinks she's some fragile being when she's really not. Although she wants to prove that she's not fragile, Natasha has a distaste for the gang life as it was the very thing that took her father away from her. She's not naive to the dangers around her, but she desperately tries to ignore it and live normally. It's extremely hard to get Natasha to budge on a decision or feeling once she's made up her mind, something she could have gotten from her mother or her father, possibly both. But she always goes with her gut, knowing that it will lead her in the right direction. If her gut isn't feeling it, then it isn't meant to be.
History:
Natasha was born to Blake and Jackson McCarthy on May 4th, 1965, and lucky for her, she was born into a happy home. Though she doesn't have a lot of memories of her home in Dalkey, Ireland. She remembers the little wonderful moments that her parents created for her. They lived happily while her father ran Ireland for the Porters up until 1971 when her father was asked to accompany the Porters in New York. At first, Blake and Natasha made well enough on their own in Ireland but after one long month without her husband, Blake made the decision that it was better that the family be together in New York. Again Natasha doesn't remember a whole lot from New York besides being with her "cousins" but the one thing that she will always remember was the night that her daddy didn't come home from work and the look on her mother's face when she told her he wasn't going to come home. Soon after that, they were headed back to Ireland for her father's funeral, another event that would be printed permanently in her mind for the rest of her days. Although her family's home brought many happy memories for both her and her mother, Blake couldn't handle living in the home she shared with her dear husband and made the decision to move to Dublin as the rest of the Sullivan/Porter Family was moving back there.
According to Blake, the already shy Natasha was delayed in forming tight relationships with her "cousins" because of the amount of grief she was going through missing her father. Blake put her in therapy at an early age and she spent many years speaking to a kind woman who would play games and color with her, discussing anything the little girl had on her mind. The one thing that did bring a smile to Natasha's face despite all the sadness she was experiencing was the fact that she was going to be a big sister. Collin McCarthy was born October 31st, 1972, and Natasha was infatuated with her little brother. Though she didn't know it, it was his birth that helped her come out of her grief as it had for her mother and it finally felt like things could be a little normal again. Natasha and Collin grew up to be very close and the pair both grew to have a very strong bond with the Sullivan, Porter, Callahan, and Costello children.
Natasha was still her somewhat shy self as she grew up but thanks to the more rambunctious kids in the family, she was able to open up and branch out, becoming much more confident in her words and actions. Thomas, Leo, Lorelei, Natasha, and Olivia all became very close during their time spent together in Dublin and they remained close up until James was extradited back to the states in 1979. Thomas and Olivia had to leave to go back to New York with Lucy, leaving Leo, Natasha, and Lorelei. Leo and Lorelei were older than Natasha so they ended up graduating from school and going off to college before her so, at school for the last two years, Natasha was left to her own devices. With Thomas being in New York, Leo was left without a best friend. Around the age of 16, Natasha started watching the younger kiddos for Conor, Aliana, and Syd. Spending a lot of time at the Sullivans brought Leo and Natasha closer together and soon they became close friends. Since then, regardless of whether she's babysitting or not, Natasha hangs around Conor and Aliana's house a lot to hang out with Leo and the girls. Though she commits herself to be good friends with Leo, around the time she turned 18, Natasha realized that she had "feelings" for the young man. Though she makes it pretty obvious in some ways, she still tends to shy away from making it wholly known and is somewhat relieved at times that he is utterly oblivious to her small advances.
