Fantasy Fairy Tale Descendants

"Nice to meet you too!" the boy beamed cheerfully, adjusting the red cloak around his neck absentmindedly. He paused a bit when she mentioned her mother. "Oh.." he hesitated. He wasn't sure what to say. He had always heard Maleficent (or however you said her name... he wasn't entirely sure) was a bad guy.

But Malevolence seemed nice (mostly). She was a little scary at first, but not really anymore. He shifted his weight awkwardly, unsure how to react. Finally he said, "My mother's name is just Mom. But her friends call her Red Riding Hood. Cause of this!" He held up the hem of his cloak with one hand, showing it off proudly.

Malevolence chuckled softly. Reed was quite open with her, and he seemed nice.

"It's beautiful."

She simply said smiling, once again, with a dab of maliciousness.

Lawrence pulled out his pocket watch as he gnawed on a carrot. "It is getting quite late." He said to himself, opening the pocket watch. He leaped down onto the dried leaves, making a loud rustling sound.

"Thanks!" he grinned back at her. "Your wings are cool." He admired them thoughtfully, before looking back at the older girl's face. "What are you doing today?" he asked, swinging his arms back and forth and rocking on his heels. "Mom and I made a bunch of food. I'm s'posed to take it down to the market. All by myself!"

He paused, looking a little sheepish. "But I kinda forgot the way..."

"Nothing at the moment..."

She replied to his question. He then continued to tell her what he was doing.

"You lost your way? Do you need help getting back on the trail, or do you just need me to tell you where to go?"

She asked smiling.

Reed glanced around, a tiny, concentrating frown finding its way onto his lips. "Umm... I dunno..." He absentmindedly raised a hand to his mouth, nibbling on his nails a little. Then he grinned up at her. "This is just like in my book!" he declared.

"When the good guys get lost, that means there's gonna be an adventure!" He threw his arms in the air to show he what a big deal this was. "At least... if we're the good guys..." His miniature frown returned for a split second, as he pondered to himself. Then he looked up at Malevolence again, smiling. "I mean... why wouldn't we be?"

"Well, i think you are a good guy... I'm not sure about me. My life hasn't made up its mind yet."
