Fantasy Faereach, Chaotic Renewal

So I looked back at the old Faereach stuff: I've not really seen a thread 'complete' its story before, other than Fablewood. So this has me interested; is this a medieval style RP or is it modern? Is it intended to be more open world or one villain one arc?

The old Faereach is modern so this would be as well. The previous one had me as it's main villain but since the reset I plan on altering my characters. I think that there could be multiple villains but the plots would have to be one by one to avoid confusion. Open world is something I'm struggling on deciding, on one hand it adds more things to explore and rp about on the other if it gets too wide there'd be no focus.

What do you guys think? Open world, city centric, or a mixture of both?

So I think that Limbo would be unaffected considering it was on a different realm. Would that be correct?

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Before the end of the first rp people had a bad opinion of limbo.

I had never had my character go there, having been mostly in the Emerald Enclave. Also, @Happy Red Mage I think a mixture between the two would be the better option than deciding solely on one or the other, considering what you said above about how free-for-all threads tend to get out of control, and one plot type threads are kind of damning at points, having a mix of both with more options and quests, if you will, might be more entertaining to RPers. (Shit, I did not mean for that to sound like a rant, my bad 0_0)

It seems there is a lot of freedom on character creation and world building in this one, so if you don't mind me being new to this site, then I'd also be very interested in getting into this Chaotic Renewal. I think, making anything too wide on scope will just derail the roleplaying experience for the group at large. So a mixture of both seems like a good idea to me as well.

My suggestion: Keep it city-centric, with a few visit-able areas outside of said city, i.e. the Emerald Enclave, wherein there could be more possible places to visit.

As far as plot goes, I'd say one main villain at a time, and if people want to make minor villainous characters that work under that villain, or even are just minor villains in general (thieves, one or two-off murderers and the like) it should be allowed. Not everyone's a hero, after all! As far as the whole "one main villain at a time" thing goes, that would be the main plot at the time, with characters, one way or another, having to help the story along. Hopefully we can keep it from getting too much like the last Faereach (before the reset) and stop it from having one barely-paid-attention-to plot that could completely alter the course of the RP (as Dana did last time) while a bunch of minor arks go on otherwise, just so everything stops being so confusing.

And honestly? I personally believe that Faereach did in fact get "completed". After all, Faereach was the name of the City as well as the RP, right? If that were the case, then I'd say we successfully completed an entire ark of Faereach, the reset being the true end of that ark, which I'm calling the "Dana" ark, given the main villain then was Dana. Looking at Faereach through that lens, I think that Faereach was the only RP I've ever been a part of that legitimately came to an end! Sure, The Ruins of Faereach ark ("Ruins" ark for short) didn't get to see a conclusion, but that's only because we never got to set up a serious goal for a majority of the characters, as again, the whole group was splintered once more.

Anyways, that's all I have to say. tl;dr: The first iteration of Faereach (pre-Reset) was a finished, whole RP in of itself. The Reset marked the end of the first iteration of Faereach. The Ruins of Faereach didn't finish, but was a good attempt on everyone's part to make a continuation of an already great, finished, RP. And I can't wait to see it rebooted!

Truer words have never been spoken. Then after hearing this, Faereach, to me, was the second RP I have participated in that has been completed.

The lore is additional content that everyone contributed to. It might seem complex at first but after a while you get the hand of it.

Happy can't make a hosted project just yet because of the update but if you want to join us you can join our discord and chat. I am sure Happy will be okay with it.
