Well explaining the origin of the rule in detail is a long story and kind of personal, so I'll just say it's about self-preservation. ​

If you mean Discord is a time sink that can end up with you spending all your time chatting instead of writing (or doing anything else), I feel you.

Naturally, this is why I mostly ignore the Discord for Fading Flame. Much love for the folks there but I have other things to do than read a 1000 comments.
