i've seen a lot of threads discussing usernames, so why not one explaining the funny little picture that tell so much about who you are? personally, mine is just because i've been in love with the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared series for a long time, and Red Guy is certainly the only really relatable character. so come on, tell me about yourself.

This guy is something of a self-portrait. William Carter, my totally-not-self-insert OC. I don't look like him anymore, but I love the picture and I thought I'd dig it out.

My favorite character (Nakahara Chuya) from one of my favorite series (Bungou Stray Dogs), the picture being from my favorite chapter (chapter 31, Double Black). Actually, my entire layout is based on ch31. As for why I chose that particular picture? ...I have no idea. There are much more flattering pictures of him out there.

Welp, I mostly choose mine either because they include cats or they resemble me in some way. My current one... Well, just look at it! It's so flippin adorable! And plus it resembles me somewhat, since I have brown hair and blue eyes. And covered in cats, as I wish to be.


Plus it helps deceive my enemies into thinking I'm sweet and innocent and ultimately corrupt souls. And rule the world. Can't forget that. Giggle.

Dazai Osamu from BSD (Bungou Stray Dogs)! I'm a fellow enthusiast of the anime so there's not an exact reason why I chose my icon. ;; Aesthetically, it was pleasing (?) to me in some way, especially with my signature.

I ride horses and a lot of people I meet say stuff like "Oh horse back riding is easy!" "It's not a sport!" "The horse does all of the work" all of those are fallacy so hence the avatar

My icon is Judith from Tales of Vesperia, one of my favorite video games (if not my most favorite one). I like her character because she's a badass warrior, she's very beautiful, and she likes messing with people. I admire her strength, but also her ability to flirt with everyone without coming off as a tease. She invested her life in destroying her father's mistake, and she's very driven to accomplish her goal, but she isn't so single minded that she can't kick back and have fun now and then. She's also a bit bloodthirsty, and gets pouty if you run away from a battle or don't let her fight. She's an all around fun character, and I got really invested into the journey that she goes through in terms of character development (it's very detailed despite her not being the main character, which is something that I really like about the "Tales of" franchise).


Judith's character isn't really like me at all, but I chose some fanart of her that has a bit of a softer, more approachable look to compensate for that. I admire Judith a lot, so I felt it was fitting to pay homage to her while still using a picture that reflects what I consider to be my general disposition to be.

The Joker. I grew up not really liking batman, then all of a sudden I can't stop thinking about it. The Joker immediately became my favorite villain, the reason being is because he is literally insane yet a complete genius. My icon is Annie from the BBC tv show, Being Human. The context of the picture is she's performing a "ritual" she found online because a ghost, vamp, and werewolf came to her door seeking the "child saviour" (she takes care of her deceased friend's baby daughter & apparently there's a prophecy that she could save the world) and the werewolf thought he heard an angel speaking to him telling him to visit them. (He's old and sick, he's friends are trying to figure out a way to help him because another transformation could kill him)


So, Annie improvised.


I guess I picked this icon because... I'm not sure. I just really love Annie, she's funny and such a well developed character.

Well, my birthday is in early April - that means my astrological sign is Aries - the ram.


Now, I'm not real big on horoscopes, or the whole 'your character is as your birthday'.


However.


I do get told I'm pushy a lot. I'm also said to be very stubborn (which is more of a Taurus thing, but y'know).


I also took a bit to the tale or Ares last year - the Greek god (comparative Mars, in Roman mythology). Ares is a warrior, and he represents the ugly side of war. Brutality, desperation, etc. Ares' downfall is that he has the tendency to rage and forget strategy.


Athena (the goddess of wisdom and the strategical side of war) had blonde hair.


Besides that, the image was pretty, and I liked it. :3

Well I change mine fairly regularly and the reason behind the changes varies. Prior to this I had a simple yellow icon with a picture reading. I might go back to that when summer is over tbh. Or I might do some pop-art-y thing that I found on tumblr.


I know for Halloween I do a theme and Christmas too.


I like themes okay and I like pretty pictures so more often than not that's the real reason behind my avatars in general.


But specifically.


This one I have now is because I am feelin' the summer craze and my family is obsessed with ice cream. It's hot and who doesn't like ice cream during the summer? Also they are adorable - seriously teddy bear ice cream cones. Who wouldn't put that as their avatar?

When the upsidedown smile emoji first appeared I tended to spam it in one of my group chats, to the point where the Admin threatened my removal... thus the emoji was banned and i felt the need to improvise. This is my inevitable compromise, not entirely an emoji, yet functions as one just the same. It is now is symbol of innovation, subversion, and above all - the continued revolt against tyranny. (it too was banned soon after)

I've had black cats as an avatar for years. Countless years. My friends always referred to me as "the cat" and I always have been represented by a black cat. I'm not a furry but this cat is still a depiction of me, I use to say "it is me, this is what I look like".


But recently, rather than stealing art from other artists (as I now know how much they hate it), I ordered my own cat pictures to some artists (paid for it), and my current avatar is one of the commissions that were done for me
