Austin is, In short, a strange package of swinging emotions and sudden swings. At a glance, Austin seems like a calm and quiet person. Yet, once approached: He becomes the "Happy-go-lucky" Fella that the prison knowns him for. He often wears a big smile on his face and holds a slightly awkward kick in his step, which contrasts both the grim environment and even his own personality.

He seems to push himself to smile and often digs deeper in an attempt to find the same satisfaction from certain activities, which gives him a Hyper and often strange appearance in his interactions. When he is not rambling -or talking to either himself or other people-, one may find him to stumble about the prison on what seems like his own expedition of some sort, or he may linger around or hide in his cell, twitching his vision about the room as if he were experiencing hallucinations scramble around him. He always seems to be searching for someone or something.

Amount of time in prison:
He was given to the program at the age of 12. His birthday was several days before the memory wipe, leaving him at the age of 13 on the first day of the experiment.

The symptoms of schizophrenia fall into three categories: positive, negative, and cognitive.

Positive symptoms: “Positive” symptoms are psychotic behaviors not generally seen in healthy people. People with positive symptoms may “lose touch” with some aspects of reality. Symptoms include:

• Hallucinations
• Delusions
• Thought disorders (unusual or dysfunctional ways of thinking)
• Movement disorders (agitated body movements)

Negative symptoms: “Negative” symptoms are associated with disruptions to normal emotions and behaviors. Symptoms include:

• Trouble focusing or paying attention
• Problems with “working memory” (the ability to use information immediately after learning it)

During the first week, It was said that he believed himself to be a"robot in a human suit". These words were proclaimed with confidence. Everyone thought that he was kidding, but that illusion soon went away as he decided to give everyone "proof" by cutting himself with a razor blade to claim that he'd "never bleed". Needless to say: It didn't end well. This event earned him the name "Tin", poking fun at his fragile body and mind. He doesn't seem to notice the Nickname's origin, so he wears it proud.

We are unsure if he still believes in that theory. he is no longer allowed to posses sharp objects unless under supervision, and guards should confiscate the object before any further harm is be done.

During the second week and lasting up to this point, he has experience minor terrors during
( mainly )the night. He claimed that he'd seen people or things inside his cell at night, and it had gotten to the point where he would be in a constant state of distress. He will often step quietly around his cell, chasing imaginary monsters and kicking them out of his cell. Unfortunately, his new cell mate may not have the same view on this activity.

If he does sleep, one may find that the morning may not be as peaceful as their slumber. Austin can't seem to differentiate reality from the dreamland, and will seek to continue or fix something that had been made up in his mind. These dreams result in terrible outcomes, with confusion or concern being the result (and response) to these actions. This may have been the reason behind (See 1.1 above)

Nickname(s): He prefers the other guards call him Edward and the prisoners address him as "Mr. Augustine." Moose, however, calls him Wheezy because he has smoked so many cigars and cigarettes, it sounds as though he has to wheeze every word.

Personality: Mr. Augustine is a cruel man, really. He masks his cruelty behind a friendly facade and gets people to trust him before he completely ruins their lives. He's a firm believer in the saying "keeps your friends close and your enemies closer," though it can be said that he doesn't have many friends. He finds himself superior to most people and considers anyone less intelligent than he below him and not worth his time. Few have held up to his standards and only those does he consider true friends.
Amount of Time in Prison: He was a guard for years, just before some of the now older kids had showed up.
