Exalted movie

Youd think sooner or later someone would try and make an exalted movie...well in the meantime our ST came up with a really good epic storyline that inspired me to make a trailer out of it...please go take a look at it and rate and comment it if you liked or even disliked it or if you have any suggestions...keep in mind its my first and more are to come!

the story is focused around the dragon blooded as you will notice and each character in the game is represented by characters from major epic movies...thnx everybody! shoot me a msg on here anytime you like as well :)

Maybe it'll inspire the White Wolf people to get off their asses and make a movie.
 
I'm not going to watch 5+ minutes of slowly scrolling text. Are there any visuals at all?

lol yes i know the scrolling txt is long but it had to be put in!...if your trying to set up a story that NOBODY knows about you need txt! and yes of course there are visuals...no still images though because it would have taken away from the "trailer" aspect of it...all the images are from movies but you have to keep watching it! keep in mind not every one out there knows everything about exalted!
 
If they WERE to ever make a movie... it would likely, sadly feature the Theme circle.


IM not sure I'd really care for a exalted movie/ TV Series...

It would probaly be so ... SIMPLIFIED that I'd go insane...


(making things so viewers, who dont understand the game could view it without getting COMPLETELY LOST.

Heck, I used to wish they'd make a movie based on "the silver crown"
 
Honestly, the Exalted setting is such a meshmash of so many varied anime, manga, literary and other sources that I think that most people (read studio execs) would dismiss the material out of hand as a Crouching Tiger/Matrix/Sci Fi clone.


Before everybody starts screaming about all the original material WW has put into the setting......


Yes we know about all the interesting and varied facets of Creation but we all have also tried to explain this setting to other people and gotten the blank stare accompanied with "Uh....so its like (fill in whatever anime you like), right?"


I would personally rather see a videogame made in the Exalted setting. If done well, with a good, compelling story that just happens to have ultra-heroes jumping about, I think it would do really well. Plus there's so much material, it easily lends itself to sequals and expansions.
 
Didn't someone say something about an MMO before? Most people thought it would be a bad idea. A lot of the Exalted flavour comes from things like stunting, which don't translate so well. I suppose God of War would be kinda close... but then people would say it's just like that.


An MMO might work if the players were restricted to Terrestrials... but a lot of stuff would be lost. A lot.
 
They could make a great gam,e from Exalted but it would have to be similar to Planetside as opposed to WoW. The stunting could be covered by verying grades of "coolness" in the animations based on the context of the situation. It COULD be really cool, but it would take very long time to make.
 
Quite often actually.


But cutting some battle scenes together and letting some poorly worded text scroll over my screen is not the kind of thing that impresses me.

i can understand you may not like it...thats fine...but to not appreciate any effort put into makes me question your motives for even going to watch it...you knew it wasnt made by some production studio...if you could do something better then go ahead....the txt sets it up for people who dont understand or have never heard of exalted....which is why i keep getting emails and compliments on putting it together that way even though i originally didnt like the idea of so much txt at the beginning...i did so everyone could understand and watch it

And how could I know that I don't like it without watching it? Would you rather like me dissing it without watching it first?
 
Meh, now don't throw a hissy fit, you even asked for opinions whether we "liked or even disliked" it.

lol im not crying but if your trying to start an argument then dont cause im not gonna bite...theres more important things in this world...i dont want this thread to turn into anything off topic...please no one respond to his posts about the above mentioned...everything else is fine...

Uh, telling people on a forum to which they have to respond and to what not is bound to fail ^^


Anyway, I suggest going over the text again for a few times, it is poorly worded and deserves some ironing out of those mistakes.


And generally... stealing pictures from movies might not be a good idea.

as a student of film, i am actually quite happy to report that yea, it is being done... i am currently working on a script for several films in the exalted work. the problem is deciding if it will be an anthology, or one continous story.
