Her maternal instincts have always been strong—considering that she willingly took on the 'Group Mom' role in her youth—and late-stage pregnancy has amplified them to a near unshakable degree. Fiercely protective of those under her care, she will put herself in harm’s way without a second thought, even when she shouldn’t, especially now that she is pregnant.
  
  Twelve long years of military service have shaped her into a tough and unyielding woman who refuses to let fear dictate her actions. Her grit, endurance and discipline are embedded in her, making her a natural leader who can and will take charge when the situation demands. She expects people to listen and act accordingly in high-stress moments, but she doesn’t give out orders for the sake of control—only when necessary for survival. With that being said, her ability to suppress her own emotions can be a double-edged sword. While she remains a stable rock for others, she often forgets to process her own emotions, particularly her fears and vulnerabilities and pushing forward even when she shouldn't.

At seventeen, with the consent and support of her parents, Katherine enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, eager to prove herself.
  
  Boot camp only reinforced what she already knew and Katherine thrived under discipline and high-pressure situations. Katherine's sharp mind and exceptional marksmanship quickly set her apart from other recruits, leading her to be selected of Scout Sniper training. By the time she was twenty, she was deployed to high-risk combat zones, where her skills in precision shooting, reconnaissance, and survival tactics making her an invaluable asset to the US Government. Katherine saw the worst the world had to offer, enduring not just the horrors and bloodshed of war, but the heavy burden of decisive, split-second decisions that determined life and death.
  
  For twelve long years, the military was her life. She fought, survived and carried the weight of her Brothers and Sisters who didn’t. But as the years wore on, the constant state of vigilance and war left its mark. By the age of twenty-nine, she made the difficult decision not to re-enlist, walking away from the only life she had ever known and the one thing she was good at. The transition to civilian life was jarring—without the structure of the military, she felt unmoored, her instincts still hardwired for survival. Rather then go into Law Enforcement, Private Investigation or Private Security, Katherine settled into a quieter life, both as a House Wife and an Author, where she currently has the final draft of her Autobiography documenting her high school years and the twelve years she served in the Marines, ready to send it in for review.
  
  Over time, something deeper began been stirring inside her—a longing for peace, stability and family. After countless years of sacrifice, she wanted something of her own. By her mid-thirties, she had finally started building the life she had once thought impossible. When she discovered she was pregnant with twins, she embraced it wholeheartedly, despite knowing the risks inherent with a geriatric pregnancy, let alone a twin pregnancy at that. The physical challenges were unlike anything she had faced before—she pushed her body to extremes in the military both in training and on the battlefield, but carrying two lives within her was a different kind of battle. Even so, she refused to let pregnancy make her weak. Katherine remained active, stubbornly independent and worked hard towards preparing for the next chapter of her life; Motherhood.
  
  At 38 weeks pregnant, she should have been resting, waiting for the moment she would finally meet her children. Instead, she found herself pulled into a nightmare she never saw coming. A close friend vanished under disturbing circumstances and despite her current condition, she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. What should have been a straightforward search quickly spiraled into something far worse—something unnatural, something monstrous. Now, trapped in a horror she was never meant to face, she must draw on every ounce of her training, instincts, and resilience—both to survive and to ensure she lives long enough to bring her children into the world.

    • Salty/savory cravings (for the little prince): Steak, grilled cheese sandwiches, French fries drowned in salt, anything super meaty and protein-heavy.
    • Clashing cravings (twins intensifying things): Chocolate-covered bacon, peanut butter on pickles, pancakes with hot sauce.

  Strange Sleeping Positions
  

  • She starts off normal, sleeping on her left side, but then will wake up in bizarre positions—half-off the bed, limbs sprawled everywhere or wrapped around a pillow like a koala.
  • Pillow Fort Queen – She builds a fortress of pillows, but still can’t get comfortable.
  • Back sleeping is a no-no, but she still wakes up on her back sometimes and she'll freak out everytime...or her back just hearts really, really bad.

  Waddling Struggles
  

  • Straight Denial – She insists she isn’t waddling.
  • The bigger she gets, the harder it is to hide. If she tries to walk fast, it’s even more obvious. That's called the turbo waddle...
  • She absolutely hates tight spaces now—walking sideways to squeeze through gaps like a pregnant crab.
  • Stairs? The biggest enemy in the house. She hates going down them because her balance is very off...not that going up is any better.

  Mood Swings
  

  • Silent Rage at Random Things – A commercial made her mad once. She still isn’t sure why.

  • Laughing Fits – A dumb joke will send her into uncontrollable laughter and she can’t stop.
