Maki received an official invite to join the special server meant only for those who met the requirements. She managed to get in, not because she was a member of the company who created Everworld, but as an actual player. Her colleagues weren’t too fond of being thrown into the unknown despite having made it. They were scared of what was waiting inside as none of them ever got to seriously playing the game, being too busy with fixing bugs, going through the updates and spending time with their family. Maki didn’t need to bother with that as she was living alone. She liked it as she didn’t need to listen to anybody nagging at her to clean up her room or do chores which she was going to do later on the day.

As she notified her workplace about being able to get through all the requirements, they weren’t surprised. Maki was one of the strongest gamers around, her player name, Ellis Whisperia, already being on the top-ranking players list which was displayed for anyone to see. Being invited to the CEO office who explained what was about to happen if she decided to enter the secret server. Being put in a comatose state, being kept alive due to the high-tech VR headset and being put in several dangerous situation in the game… She knew it wasn’t going to be easy but deep down she felt like she couldn’t refuse the position. Feeling like she had to protect the players to the best of her capabilities. After all, they could lose their lives in the real world too if they weren’t careful.

Being the first one to reach the elite, she was appointed as the captain of the mobile squad who was supposed to be helping out other squads if they failed. They were supposed to be the strongest group in the game. At least, that was what the creators hoped. If one did manage to get the requirements through cheating, that person would be standing before one hell of a task as cheating was practically non-existent in this server. They would have the biggest chance of dying.

20 May, 2154.

The day finally came that Maki entered the secret server. Sleeping in a special chamber inside of the company so they could keep check on her. After all, she was one of the important creators of Everworld so they couldn’t leave her alone. Before she put on the headset and gave a reassuring smile towards the worried faces around her. They were worried because she would be the only player currently walking there. “I’ll be fine.” She said. The VR then got to work, plugging everything in to make sure of her vitalities and then sucked her into the game.

There was… nothing. At least not for the first few seconds. And then an abundance of light hit her at once, making it difficult for her to open her eyes until she adjusted to it. Greeted by the beautiful architecture around her once she got her vision back. Birds were chirping, vendors were shouting towards the people to buy their products, footsteps were all over the place. But they stopped once they caught sight of her. Confused stares and even glances of fear in their eyes as a strange person suddenly appeared in front of them.

The whole experience was realistic. More so than she thought it would be. Guards of the royal palace were circling around her, weapons in hand and ready to attack. That was until one of them seemed to recognize her but not really. “She’s one of the prophets.” One exclaimed, lowering his weapon. “One prophet of each class will appear in the middle of Afloris Kingdom. They’ll be the ones to stop our world from submerging.” His voice was filled with hope. Not all of the guards were convinced though as they had arguments of their own: “How can you be sure?” “She’s just a snow elf!” “Are you sure she’s a prophet? What if she’s a demon?” One after the other exclaimed their doubts, the civilians clearing the way as they felt unsure. “Then, why doesn’t she prove it?” One asked, which was actually a good way of proving her worth.

Ellis nodded, indicating for everyone to move out of her way. The best ability she could use to prove her power would be this… “Zenobia’s Vortex.” She said clearly. A whirlwind would be called into existence, growing bigger within seconds until it crashed to the ground. Making sure to keep it in check so nobody would be swept away. The people looked in awe and were at a loss for words. The moment she undid her ability, they kneeled in front of her. “Miss, what would your name be?” One asked.

“My name is Ellis Whisperia, Elven High Priestess. One of the eight prophets.”

25 May, 2154.

More elites were formed and entered the secret server. They would spawn where Ellis did, so she made her way to the center of the market. In the time she was there, she became the captain of a mobile squad called “The Prophets”. Word had already spread about her existence in the short time she was there. It was to be expected as they weren’t your usual hero. But those of another world. Some were still scared because of the amount of power they had while other looked up to them. It all depended on the person themselves. Having received note that most would be arriving at the same time. 7.30PM. It stood in the invitation mail and most people would do what was told. Especially since it went about a secret server.

Ellis looked at the clock displaying the time. It was almost time for them to get here now. Awaiting them patiently.

It had been the start of what might have been an ordinary day, when an official invite to a special server was sent Erich's way. The young man blinked once, then twice, eyes reading through the contents over and over again with both growing intrigue and mounting uncertainty. It didn't feel like it was that long ago when he had only started playing the game, and the mystic who would be known as Warren the Rusted Silver was just an inexperienced beginner among thousands of others.

Erich stumbled into the virtual world headfirst, not entirely knowing what he was supposed to be doing, but trying his best anyway. His eagerness and sincerity quickly endeared him to many others within the playerbase, and even as his ranking began to skyrocket, those initial qualities of his hadn't changed. Plenty agreed that it was only a matter of time before he made it to the top, and this invite was a testament to that achievement.

The question of whether or not he should accept the offer took a lot of deliberation, but with the support of his parents and the encouragement from his younger twin brothers, the answer became obvious.

Violet-gold eyes fluttered open, squinting slightly as they adjusted to the sudden flood of light. The sight that greeted him was a bustling marketplace, filled with the sights and sounds that could only be seen in fantastical worlds. What truly caught his attention, however, was not the unfamiliar scenery he was surrounded by, but rather the person who stood before him.

Ellis Whisperia, his mind immediately put a name to the face in front of him. A top-ranking player and the best priest in-game. Having not made even a single appearance for the last five days, many assumed that she was simply busy with real life, but there had also been rumors that she was invited to the highly coveted secret server. With her being here, it seemed that there was some merit to the gossip after all.

Getting up off of the ground, he dusted himself off and greeted her with a smile, "Hello."

20th May 2154;
The invite showed up. Through Email, didn't he feel official right now, this was everything he wanted right now. Not only would he have no worries about responsibilities or any of that crap. He would be living in the video game he pretty much knew front to back. He'd have to get to their company headquarters but apparently that would be taken care of by them. There was a leader he'd have to meet within the world and something, something, great danger, something, something, you could die. He honestly skimmed the email but what more needed to be said. He was entering Everworld! In three to five business days of course.

24th May 2154;
One day from being plugged in the game. He was nervous, they arranged things with his family, apparently they'd be compensated for his extended absence, and they would have protested if it was not for a sizeable level of enthusiasm from Caleb, and another zero or two tacked on to the end of their compensation.
What was it going to be like? To experience the markets, to see the creatures up close, to figure out the puzzles in a real scale, to meet the other adventurers... The other adventurers, the thought hadn't even crossed his mind until now and anxiety washed over him, will they like him? His character, it wasn't going to be him in the game, he'd be represented by his orc 6Cylinder... Wait what if they have cooler usernames than me? What if I'm mocked... the thoughts plagued him through the night until the morning crept on him.

25th May 2154;
Who knew a day could drag on so long, inductions, interviewing, examination, cross-examination, post examination, fitness checks, vitality checks, some he's pretty sure they made up to sound cool. Though the thought of being in Everworld drove him through it all, eventually the time came for him to be installed. The chamber was threatening, ominous to a degree. It was something he'd be stuck in for an indefinite amount of time and if these instructions told him anything... He might only be coming out of this thing in a bodybag to put it bluntly.

He stepped in anyway.

He was scared, he could see the way out. He could just deny the opportunity and leave... He was pretty sure he could do that, they must've had enough secondary applicants who could make it.

He stayed in as they hooked him up anyway.

They told him to stay calm, they could see his heart rate spiking and other conditions showing clear signs of anxiety, but he only had this one chance, he wanted to live the life he could only view through a screen before today, besides...

He didn't have a choice anyway.

-------------------

It's dark... He thought All that fancy tech and they coul-- Agh my eyes! He would be hit by what felt like all the light at once and he covered his eyes. Alright... you can do this just... uncover your eyes and look. The sounds of a market filled his ears and he would peek through his hands. A ridiculous display by any means as unbeknown to him, he was cowering from anxiety in the form of his large orcish avatar. But once he finally summoned the courage to view the world around him, the buildings, the town the people. He could see it all with clarity and depth. It was like nothing he ever felt before. He would then notice the greenish pigment of his hands and briefly panic before realising who he was... who he will now be.
Given the ranking system of the players eligible for the secret server Caleb as 6Cylinder was the highest of the gunners, though due to the little played nature of the class he was likely the lowest ranking of the group. He felt overwhelmed. Doubly so when the highest ranking priest in the game was standing before him, and presumably the Mystic Warren they'd be adventuring with. He'd kept tabs on all the leaderboards, he'd know every other player they'd be with on this journey.

He was too starstruck to actually speak but tried to approach.

"Wait, wait, waaait! I'm not ready!" She ran from her little pod bed they had prepared for her at Everworld's Headquarters. She passed all the tests they had, physicals, and psychological. As well as any interviews and such. So why was she not ready? Well for one, she could die. Yeah she skimmed the email, but they reminded her over it to make sure she was consenting and they couldn't be blamed. This was such a great opportunity though. "Just let me think about it." She mulled over in her mind the pros and cons then finally sighed. She took the pen and paper from the table and signed it swiftly. "Alright.. I'm in." Janessa will just have to think of this a exciting, risky vacation away from her baby sister Trinity. And all the problems that came with her. She didn't hate her sister but she strongly disliked her. Maybe one day that will change but that day isn't today or any time soon.

Janessa made her way over to the bed and let the people do what they had to do. She gave them a thumbs up before letting them slip the VR over her head and hook her up. Nothing happened at first. The needles and tubes and highly uncomfortable, but eventually she couldn't feel them anymore. Her body was relaxing slowly from her toes all the way up until it reached her chest. She had a moment of panic, think if he body relaxed too much her heart would stop beating. She thought she heard someone tell her relax but she couldn't remember. Oh great, now she was forgetting things. Her thoughts slowed to a stop and her breathing came out soft and even. Janessa was now inside of a comatose state.

There was nothing. No dreams, no thoughts, no sound, touch, smell or sight. Then it was like everything was turned on all at once. Noises of a bustling market, chatter everywhere. The smell of fresh bread and ale assaulted her nose. She squinted her eyes through the bright light and waited for her eyes to adjust. She felt something soft slap her face and looked to her right, it was one of her wings from her character Divine Uriel. Oh... right. Janessa suddenly remembered what she was doing and where she was. She looked herself over and smiled.

Janessa looked up at the sound of someone greeting her. She saw an Orc, what looked to be a Human and a Elf. If she remember correctly from the invite, these people would be the best in their class. 6Cylinder, Warren and Whisperia. Suddenly unsure of herself around so many top players. "Oh..uh.. hello everyone"

"before I go under, can I call my parents?" Ai asked as she sat up in her little pod at Everworld Headquarters. They nodded, and Ai stepped out of the room and dialed up her father. She had a good 5 minute conversion with her dad and mom. "Yes dad this is somewhat safe, and they have my consent....Look papa, This cash will help you out more then it will help me, and then you can go wherever you want...Yes, when I get out we can go on a vacation....I love you to chichi, bye!". Ai hung up the phone, her eyes just a bit watery. She didn't know how long it would be before she had real food, or see her parents, but she knew what she was getting into, she wanted to be in everworld, she wanted a true challenge. All Ai hoped was that she didn't die, but she was also curious to see what these scientists had in store for her.

Ai dried her eyes and went back into the room and into her pod. The scientist injected her with a few needles and connected some tubes to her as well. "how do you feel?" one of them asked. "uncomfortable, very uncomfortable" she said with a smile. The pod was closed, and they then started sending Ai into the Vr world. someone told Ai to relaxed, so she relaxed her body, and allowed herself to slip, the world around her fading into darkness. Ai had to control the intense amount of fear she was experiencing, telling herself that she was in safe hands, and would slowly slip into a coma state.

When I regained conscious, she didn't feel or see anything, she was swimming in a world or darkness. And then it was like someone flipped the lightswitch on, and was thrown into a bustling town people talking loudly, bartering for items from shops and children running around. It took her a minute to realize what was going on, and who she was. "oh yeah, I'm Ace" she told herself in amazement as she looked at her characters armor. Ai would then just feel her hair, which was red and soft, just like she remembered. "ok, now where are the others" She asked herself as she walked around.

In no time, Ai would spot the other players. They were top players, just like her, but she didn't really know them all that well. and she would have still prefered her usual squad which consisted of some of her highschool friends and a few online people she became friends with. they were skilled players, and they got along very well. But they weren't selected to be apart of this, so Ai would just have to deal with the current group she was given. She approached them, "konnichiwa, My name is Ai Fukuda, but all of your probably know me as Ace, pleasure to meet you" Ai said, her accident thick as she spoke.

It was unsurprising to Sacha that she’d passed all the physical and psychological tests, even the interviews had seemed easy. Everything that had been thrown at her in the day seemed to blur into one mess, her mind only focusing on what was to come. Sacha was both thrilled and nervous, jittery with energy and a slight apprehension to enter due to her chance of death. The chamber offered as her slumbering sanctuary seemed unthreatening enough. There was nothing that struck her as being overly dangerous as she neared it, tailed by workers who offered kind smiles. Entering was easy, as was being hooked up despite the slight discomfort that soon faded. She remained calm, she didn’t think she had anything to be worried about. With her eyes closed and thoughts stilling, Sacha’s breathing softened, she was undoubtedly ready.

For a moment, all Sacha saw was the depths of her own mind. Nothing was there, only bleak darkness and Sacha questioned if everything had been a mistake. Then the world bled to life around her. Noises and sights hit her as she squinted, a hand too slender and calloused to be her own raised to cover her eyes reflexively. How exciting. Spinning around, she quickly scoped the area around her, eyes darting as she admired the scenery and bustle of the market around her. If Sacha had had it her way she would’ve went wandering, but she was here for a reason and she wouldn’t get distracted now. Moving to where she could see a few others standing, her smile soon widened as she took in their appearances and recognised them. They were each fantastic players in their respective classes. Striding towards them determinedly, Sacha offered her wide smile and waved enthusiastically at them. “Hello! It’s an honour to meet you all!” She declared warmly, hands now positioned on her hips as her gaze danced and flickered from player to player. Sacha wondered briefly what their expectations were of her, she certainly expected to be impressed by them and hoped they held the same for her.

Just as she predicted, flashes of light would appear whenever a player arrived in Everworld. People still stopped in their tracks, looking surprised due to the sudden appearance of these prophets. They were all different as they belonged to other classes. One was dressed in full armor while the other would be dressed in leather. It was beautiful to see but it also put a weight on Ellis her shoulders as she needed to carry them around, hoping that nobody would actually die. It would be on her mind until the end of times. She was like that. She fidgeted with her clothes until the players’ forms took on their complete forms. The first one that arrived was Warren, a Mystic class.

She had to admit that the male was beautiful, making her feel inferior to his presence. Staring at him for a few seconds before his voice would snap her out of her daydream. She smiled gently towards him, not wanting to scare anyone away. “Hello.” She responded to him. “Have you arrived safely?” She asked, but from what she saw, she didn’t see any abnormalities that could worry her. Just as she was about to ask something else, other players dropped in one after another. Waiting a little so that everybody could assemble around her. After all, this was not an everyday event that people could experience.

Remembering all their ‘names’ from the leaderboards in Everworld: Warren, 6Cylinder, Uriel, Saccharina and Ace. They all had unique characters which was nice to see. Some had the tendency to just take a preset character and hell, all of them would look the same after a while. Needing to remember them by name alone was a true hassle to go through. She bowed lightly and smiled almost how a mother would to their child. She wanted to make them feel at ease as nothing was probably going to happen for the time being. At least that was what she hoped. Seemed like they were missing two more classes. But she had a feeling that they wouldn’t stay away for too long. Perhaps something interrupted their schedule.

“My name is Ellis, and I’ll be your guide in Everworld. Well sort off.” She started explaining the situation one more time in case somebody forgot or didn’t listen before. “Our main goal is to defeat the demon lord in this game. The biggest difference is that you can really die after you’ve used up all your lives. So be careful and don’t rush in without thinking! My resurrect ability only works on NPCs so even more reason to be cautious. But since nothing had happened during my time here, I think the difficulty will go up with time as well. I tried leveling alone and the monsters weren’t that strong. So, we might need to take this opportunity to get used to moving, attacking and planning those attacks. No worries though, I’ll be supporting you in the best way that I can. After all, I am one of the creators of Everworld.” Ellis said with a big smile, feeling a little more confident since she had done some training in game already.

“Now, done with the serious talk. Let’s get some food, I haven’t eaten yet.” She said and turned around on her heels, walking into the direction of the food stands. Some were known on Earth, while others were more special. Such as the Kelpie bun which Ellis ordered with the starter money, she also did some light side quests in the meantime while she was bored. Taking a bite from the bun, she immediately hummed due to the taste of it. This was her second time buying it and it didn’t disappoint.

(I'm making the assumption of little videogamey things in the world.)

He looked between the other people that flashed in. I'm the only Orc huh? Guess I'm not too surprised. He would think to himself, then his eyes would flick to their usernames hanging transparently over their heads, a small quirk of the system but probably wouldnt give them away in any actual danger. Just as he feared, he was the only one who would have a Username instead of a character name. Anxieties flooded him, all it would take was them finding him too ridiculous overall and the whole mission could be compromised.

He shook away those thoughts as best he could, he was in the big leagues now. He had to stop thinking like this, food, that's what was suggested, and that's what he wanted.

He kinda broke away from the group slightly, out of nerves rather than arrogance though be would be beyond easy to find and fumbled with some starting coin to buy a cartoonishly large hock of meat. It was a stable for his character to always buy the specific item whenever he finished a session of grinding. Though while playing 6Cylinder technically wasnt real nor would special treats actually affect him, he liked to reward his character whenever he could.

He took a large bite out of what he always saw to be delicious in the game and the flavours of rich meat and spices would wash over him. He started to realise the depth of this experience. Everything minute he could now live out. It was the Everworld fan's ultimate dream.

Ai listened to Ellis as she spoke, absorbing the information that she was given to her. Once Ellis wandered away, Ai decided to walk around herself, so she could organize her thoughts. Hmmm, the objective is to defeat the demon lord, who is probably located halfway across the world. He probably has an army of some sort, so we need to build up status to gain support for our movement. Ai would tell herself as she looked over the food options. There was a pretty big assortment of food for her to choose from, going from baked sweets to spicy meats.

We also are going to need money, for supplies, transportation, and lodging. Not only that, we need to change the way we think about the game. Our actions have consequences, consequences that could end up with us losing our lives.
Ai thought to herself as she chose what she was to eat.

Thought Ai was now a little ways away, she found something that was now interested in. It seemed to be some sort of pie with different types of savoury filling. AI just decided to choose a random pie and buy it, walking back to the group with a pie in her hands. Ai would sit down on a bench, and take a bite out of that pie she bought. "Umai!" Ai exclaimed as she swallowed, wiping the crumbs away from around her mouth. The flavor was intense, it tasted like rich spicy beef, surrounded by flaky pie crust. The flavor reminded her of curry, specifically the curry her mother made, which had a nice spiciness to it. In a matter of moments, Ai finished the pie, and found herself wanting more. "That was a, familiar flavor, very nice" Ai told herself as she stood up, brushing the crumbs off of her hands. She now realized what this experience truly ment, this was truly the dream of every Everworlds fan out their.

Warren hummed, looking rather contemplative as he mulled over Ellis' words in his mind. Unbeknownst to him, a number of bystanders—both men and women—stopped to stare at the beautiful mystic. Whispers lit up amongst the crowd, admiring his exquisite appearance and longing to be a partner of his, whether romantically or in the more carnal sense of the word. Not one of them, however, realized that those dreams of having a relationship with him would never be actualized for anyone. Such is the way of asexuals and aromantics, and this man was both of them at once.

The young teenager—not that many were aware of this—was quick to accept the fact that this would be a difficult journey, however amazing they were at the game. Things were different once you come to realize that the threat of death was very much real here, unlike how revivals were a given in the virtual world they've known for years. The thought of any of them dying here was akin to a cold hand clenching at his heart—he could only hope and strive to achieve an ending where they all survived, regardless of how unlikely that seemed.

Setting aside such bleak thoughts for now, finding something to eat became his priority. In the midst of the intermingling scents of various food carts, there was one in particular that came to his attention. People instinctively moved aside to let him pass as he made his way towards a certain stand—specializing in selling desserts. The vendor didn't seem to notice him at first, but once she did, became awestruck by his attractiveness.

"I'll have a slice of sambocade, if you please." The seller was then snapped out of her stunned state at the soothing sound of his voice, and was quick to ready his order.

Despite Warren's attempts at paying for the treat, the other insisted that it was free for first time customers. Whether or not this was true or just a ploy to appeal to the alluring man, he eventually relented and instead, flashed her a dazzling smile that left her flushed to her roots. As he walked back to the group, he bit into the cake and instantly had a burst of flavor dance across his tastebuds. The elderberries and the cream cheese complemented each other perfectly, and the slightest hint of rose made the entire experience a unique one. This was real, he thought to himself, and he didn't know whether or not to be excited or terrified because of it.

You don't have to keep- Ah!" Today was supposed to be a monumental event in the life of Finn Coughlan, he was meant to fly out to the creator of Everworld's headquarters and take place in some secret server. That was his intention at least, but it seemed that road-block after road-block kept popping up. The first of which had been a delay in his flight, which immediately set his schedule back by an hour and a half. The email had stated that the players would be "injected" into the game at about 7:30 PM, but they should arrive earlier than that for their consultations. With the new schedule, he would be arriving in the country until 7:10 PM. Put simply, he had been a bit behind schedule for the whole process. Upon arriving many of the faculty members rushed him between multiple rooms to perform tests. Overall the testing seemed just as rushed as he had been to get through the whole thing, the faculty members arguably frantic themselves.

Needless to say, he managed to pass all of their tests- and with flying colors at that. Next, he was moved to a 'Pod Room' in which he would spend an unprecedented amount of time. After about four clipboards of paperwork he had successfully signed his life away, a bit grim but true all the same. "Alright... so all that's left is to hook me up to that I'm guessing?" He posed the question to the faculty members in the room with him, many of which nodded before leaving the room. One of the guys, the last to leave the room, patted him on the back as a sign of good luck before leaving the room. Glancing over to the clock, he was met with the time of 7:38 PM. Reaching a hand upwards he brushed through his hair, a twinge of irritation becoming clear as he released a disheartened sigh. 'So this is the final step... just climbing in a pod- but then what?' the question rose to the surface, it rested there for a moment before the popping as quickly as it had appeared.

After a moment of awkwardly fumbling around with the pod, he managed to enter it by himself. Just as he'd managed to find the right way to position his body within it the door opened and in walked a man with two nurses. Finn nodded to the trio as they immediately set to work, one worked on ensuring the device was hooked up correctly while the other two began to get the numerous needles and tubes hooked into him. The main nurse appeared to be having difficulty finding his vein to insert the IV, which resulted in her jabbing him incorrectly a multitude of times. "I'm telling you, it's not that hard to find my vein" In the moment of his rejections the doctor took over and began to prepare Finn, "You don't have to keep- Ah!" the sharp pain cut his objections short as the contents of the bag began to fill the tube and consequently his body. Panels began to display his heart-rate, blood-flow, and many other features as his body began to feel sluggish.

He could see the doctor and nurses smiling to him, the nurses took this moment to leave the room. The doctor, on the other hand, moved closer, "Are you ready, sir?" he asked calmly. "Ready, as I'll ever be" Finn smiled to the doctor who moved to lower the headset to his body, despite the excessive levels of discomfort that came from this process- it felt like he almost belonged here- as if this was his calling or something. Perhaps the odd rush of emotions had just been his adrenaline kicking up, or his eagerness to be out of the undesirable circumstances. The doctor closed the pod before pressing something, and as that happened- the world around him faded into black. All color, all light had been sucked away from him as the dark void took over. He couldn't feel the slight sting of the needles in his body, nor could he feel the discomfort of the pod's frame against his body. Everything around him was muted, dulled to the point of nonexistence. Moving his body a bit, he felt like he was submerged in water- the feeling of being somewhere and not all at the same time. Less than an hour ago he had arrived in Japan, and now... where was he now? A distant light shone a bright white, almost calling to him. 'That's it then? Did I die already?' The thought drowned anything else from his mind as it felt like he was being pulled into the light.

'I guess I should just accept it if that's the- Wait. Why do I... Why do I feel this?' A warmth began to spread over his body, the light he was approaching began to burn into his retinas as the painful stinging sensation began to dig in. He lifted an arm to block the light from his eyes, only to realize that its form was far more muscular than his own. The feeling of a breeze brushed past his ears, and the feeling seemed to spread further than usual. A swarm of feelings tore into his mind, the feeling of a gentle warmth as the sun kissed his skin, the scent of mead and meat burned into his nose, and some sort of shapes began to form within the burning white light. "Ugh..." The light had begun to ease but the pain remained for a few moments longer.

Then, almost as if he had finished adjusting, the light dimmed down and he was revealed to a bustling hub surrounding him. Moving his arm away, he immediately noticed something. "I- I guess I made it." He beamed to himself, a child-like giddiness welled up within him as he realized the situation. A few of the individuals on the street still looked surprised as his figure had suddenly appeared, a few even growling out in displeasure. "Haha. Sorry... sorry" Finn... Nera muttered his apologies to those around him. Turning his arm over, he stared at his reflection. The different colored irises, the ghostly white hair, even the elven features, without a doubt he was in the body of Nera now. A small smile took hold on his face as he looked about the region. A few of the individuals around him had begun muttering something, from the bits and pieces he could pick up they had been talking about him being an elf. Come to think of it... there were supposed to be seven others like himself joining this server if the memo were to be believed that is.

'I guess I should snoop around before doing anything else. Maybe try to pick up an odd job or something."' He thought to himself as he began to walk, the townsfolk didn't seem to mind him too much after the initial entry. Honestly, he was just glad that he hadn't been spawned directly into a fight or a death trap. The stone and dirt from the ground below him were... oddly comforting, almost like it was securing him in away. 'I can do this... No. But I can at least soak some hits for the others to do this' The thought passed through his mind as he rounded a corner. Immediately he had been met with some interesting individuals, each seemed equally distinguished from the rather drab townsfolk around them. Seemed like the majority of their players had chosen human, but there were a few unique races in there. All-in-all, this seemed like a fairly interesting group.

Stepping towards them he raised a hand as a greeting, "Howya doing everyone? Apologize for my delay, got a bit caught up on my end. Names Nera Taliesin, call me Nera, a pleasure to meet the lot of ya." He spoke with a fairly friendly tone, the smile on his face likely helped. Everyone here was supposed to be the elite of the elite, top of their line, in other words... this was the ace in the hole against the demon king. He assumed at least.

20 May 2154 Afternoon around 6:45 pm

Leon was finishing up the final report for the week. When his cell phone alerted him with a email, stating that he was selected for the secret server in Everworld. " De verda lo logre mama" said Leon while setting his badge in the desk and calling security to escort him out of the casino where he was a Room chef. Most of his co-workers found it shocking why would Leon just quit and with a big smile on his face; But to him he was finally free and was going to do the dream job he walked out and drove home and called his family told them he wanted Luis to take care of his apartment and that money would be sent to them in the family account. They where a bit worried but it was Leon there little lion so if he is working hard they will be happy aswell.

Leon was running in the physical exams he was doing fantastic but his intelligence was in a middle school level. It was a little concerning but his puzzle solving and quick thinking was quit amazing. After a few more tests Leon was looking at the other candidates. "So I am the oldest one of all the best players in the world." He bites his nails and laughed. " I guess i should work hard to watch over the kids" he drinks his last coffee in a while and starts to get ready for the VR chamber. Leon laid down and they started to connect tubes and needles in his body and they started the count down "10 ,9,8,7,6,5" a bright light flashed and he took a big breath and closing his eyes he awoke in a plaza. It was majestic the world was so colourful he heard vendors calling out and even saw a familiar character his eyes widen and he smiled and just yelled very loud and excited with a bright smile."ACE!!!!!!!! It's me Leon " he ran towards her and hugs her, he then looked at the fountain near the vendor where she was eating her small pie. He looked and noticed that his hair was shorter his face looked seven years younger, and his light blue eyes where sparkling he couldn't believe it and smiled and set down ace and yelled " I am in Everworld!!!!" Frightening all the people around him.

As everyone seemed to enjoy the food and the surroundings, Ellis felt like she could let go a little. The stress level lowering itself already as she didn’t think that anything bad would happen today. Though there was this feeling gnawing onto her since yesterday that it wasn’t going to be like that for long. Biting her lip as she thought about the things that could happen to them. Even if they all had 3 lives, it wasn’t going to be easy especially with the increasing difficulty of the levels. She guessed that every area indicated a certain level. The kingdom probably being the lowest of them all since the crime rate was low, only a goblin would appear here and there in an attempt to steal one of the crops of the farmers. It was perfect to get adjusted to combat though. It wouldn’t be too much of a problem, seeing that she was surrounded by top tear players.

She jumped slightly at the sudden new voices. The last two of the group had arrived from the looks of it. Bowing towards the two as they made their appearance. She smiled softly into their direction. “Nice to meet you Nera, I’m Ellis Whisperia. I’ll be leading you throughout the game.” She introduced herself again shortly. “Also, I’ve been named as the captain of our group The Prophets.” Giving an explanation of what the group was about, needing to help out here and there as they were considered the strongest and most important people to arrive in Everworld. “So, that’s about it.” She finished explaining, hoping that the two had listened since it was the shorter version.

“And please, Leo… Don’t give the people a heart attack…” Ellis said awkwardly, giving apologetic smiled to the people around them. Giving a kelpie bun to each of the latecomers so they had something in their stomach. Of course, they could still eat something at the place they were staying. “Everyone let’s go!” Her voice was loud and clear, immediately directed towards the other players. Starting to move towards the place they would be staying for the night. It was a nice walk, the scenery as beautiful as it could be. The sky coloring in a deep red shade, fused with purple looking clouds and orange highlights. It could make anyone stop in awe at the sight of it, especially if this was their first time seeing it. Walking further out of the bustling city, going more towards the outer parts of it where the inn was situated: Ann’s Inn. It was cozy and not too expensive. The perfect place to be.

She twirled around once she checked them all in, they would need to split up in groups of 2. “Alright everybody, choose the person you want to room with for the time being.” Ellis said, clapping her hands together almost as if she was a kindergarten teacher. She didn’t mind rooming with whoever, mainly because she still didn’t know them too well. It was a great opportunity to change that.

Janessa | Uriel

Ace and Sacha showed up a moment after she did. Uriel waved to both of them and offered a smile. Counting the number of heads they were still missing some people but Ellis decided to start things off and tell everyone she was their guide. Sort of. Uriel listened intently as Ellis explained the situation and nodded when it was appropriate. Uriel mind started to wonder alittle at the thought of actually dying here meant you really did die. It was a very unsettling thought, but even knowing this beforehand she still consented. Uriel didn't like the fact that the difficulty of the game would go up the longer they were here. That meant better start training before things get too hard and they fall far behind the bar. Alas, Ellis had other plans. Food.

Uriel had no objections as she strangely found her stomach rumbling. She looked around cautious to see if any one noticed, but it didn't seem so. Everyone was starting to wander off to their own food booths and select whatever caught their fancy. Uriel didn't know what she wanted, some real food or something sweet? She each item each player paid for, except for Warren, who apparently didn't have to pay. Lucky guy.

Uriel jumped alittle when Nera came up announcing his presence. She was too much in her own thoughts about food to even notice the elf before he said anything. She looked apologetic and greeted him in return. "You just missed the big speech, but you're just in time to grab some grub." She smiled brightly and wandered off to find her own food cart. As she looked between the carts she observed all the different delicacies until one caught her eye.

At that moment a very loud individual popped up and spooked her. She looked over to him to see his name hovering above him and noticed it said Leo. Uriel was being very jumping lately... she recollected her thoughts and turned back to the vendor. "Hey! I can I... uh get this one?" She pointed to what looked like a bowl made of bread with white rice in it with chicken pieces topped with smelled sweet and spicy at the same time. Once the vendor handed her the bread bowl, she gave her the money and nodded her head in thanks.

Walking back over to Ellis, she bit into the bread bowl and was surprised at the realistic favoring. It was so delicious. Uriel took a few more bites of it as Ellis told everyone to follow her. Uriel picked up the pace of her gait as well as her chewing so she could finish her meal quickly. As the group followed Ellis, Uriel took the time to survey her surroundings. It was quite beautiful here really.

Uriel didn't realize the group had stopped walking and bumped into 6Cylinder. "Oops, I'm so sorry." She said softly as she moved around him to see why they had stopped. It was a nice quaint building with the name of 'Ann's Inn.' So this is where the group would be staying. Did they have a room big enough for everyone? Would they have each buy a room? Her questions were answered when Ellis told them group up in pairs. Uriel looked around and immediately moved close to Warren. If him getting his food for free was any indication, he'd probably get the room for free too. Uriel hooked her arm through his and looked at him with a small smile. "Hey, mind if I room with you?"

"Hm? Oh my..." Warren muttered to himself in thinly veiled surprise as the angel of their small group—Uriel, he quickly remembered her name to be—suddenly hooked her arm through his.

As strange as it may sound, not many of the top-tier players ever actually interacted with one another enough to be considered more than just acquaintances. They've spoken maybe once or twice during an event, taken pictures together with their adoring fans, and so on and so forth. However, they've never come close to becoming friends. It was understandable, really, since you couldn't expect anyone to be able to befriend everyone. Though, perhaps this would be an opportunity to encourage and strengthen their bonds hand in hand. They were going to be risking their lives, so why not foster trust in the ones who will be fighting next to you?

Still, for her to be so forward in her offer, she must have a great deal of confidence.

"Well... if you insist." Warren felt a bit taken aback, but managed to muster up a rather bashful smile—one could almost see the flowers braided into his hair bloom ever more beautifully because of it. Considering the fact that he was a mystic, however, maybe this wasn't just a figment of one's imagination. "I would love to room with you, Uriel."

Looking upon this enviable scene, the other patrons were both awestruck and resentful. After all, who wouldn't want the opportunity to get close to an attractive individual? Of course, the answer to that question, regardless of how rhetorical it might have been, was the Rusted Silver himself. Things like charm and appeal were irrelevant to someone who felt absolutely no attraction, whether romantically or sexually, to other people whatsoever. Not many could understand that, though, and who knows what may happen in the future to come.

Ai would be startled by Leon's sudden appearance, almost falling off her bench when she was bear hugged. It took her brain a second to catch up on what was happening. She would vividly cuss in Japanese, lots of unpleasant words. If anyone understood the language, they would be stunned.
"don't do that Leon! I could have choked! And calm down, your scaring people, dude" Ai said. In truth, she was relived to see a familiar face. Though she was surrounded by the best of the best, she hadn't even played with any of these people, she knew next to nothing about them. But she knew Leon, and even though she did make fun of him sometimes, he was reliable, always coming through when needed. Ai wanted to test out her fighting skills as soon as possible, so that she could get use to combat in this world. It would probably take all of them a little time to get use to actually moving their limbs to fight. But Ai decided to relax, they weren't any were close to the demon-lord, if anything, they would be fighting some low level enemies, most likely slimes, or goblins. Ai would be snapped out of her thoughts when Ellis said that they had to room with someone. Ai hated sharing her room with people, she hated when people were in her room. Ai liked to have some privacy as soon as she entered her room. But it was either this or sleeping outside, and Ai wasn't sleeping outside.
"Oi! Let's room old man!" Ai would say while clapping Leo on the back. "and make sure you get something to eat, were gonna need the energy for tomorrow"
