Fantasy Eternal Heroes

Ranix Aurus

Languishing in Progress
Roleplay Type(s)

When you opened your eyes, you were staring on a red, empty sky.

You looked around. You were laying on the ground, which was dry and colored in dark brown. Lifeless. You struggled to sit up and let your eyes scour around. The empty landscape stretched for a while before disappearing on the horizon. There was nothing. Not even clouds, not even a bright spot called the sun. It was a world of red, and void.

You looked behind you. There was indeed something. A structure. A tall building, seemingly man-made, crafted from sturdy yet unknown material. A tower. It raised high toward the sky. So high that your eyes could not see the end of it.

You looked below. Something felt different. You gazed at your hand. Your feet. The part of your body that your eyes can reach. You realized that it was not your body. Different. This could not be your body. However, you instinctively know that it IS your current body. You are still you, but at the same time you are no longer you.

Something struck your mind. It was the last memory that you have. Faint as it is, you remembered. That time. That moment. The last memory that you had, was when you faced Death.

A bright light blinded you. It came from the Tower. A gate. An entrance was opened on the reddish wall, the warm light inviting you to go in. You were attracted there, one step at a time. You finally let the light enveloped your entire being. You finally let go of your past self, and embrace this new world.

Welcome to the Tower.

============================================================================

This is an idea of RP that I thought of. Its inspiration drew from many sources, so you could not say that it is entirely original. However, the main points are somewhat like this.

We are already dead, but somehow when we woke up, we are in another world with a body different from our own. We then entered the Tower. The Tower consists of lots of floors, with the first floor being used as residential area by others sharing similar fate with us. The floor above and beyond contains hazards such as traps, mazes, and more prominently monsters.

When we died, we do not disappear. Instead, we are revived back in the first floor with our memories and abilities intact, losing only any items we are bringing at the moment. However, we can still feel pain. Our body is also many times sturdier than natural humans. Some of us can also feel the magical flow inside the world, and use it to cast magics like in fantasy stories. It's like playing a game with unlimited lives, yet with real feeling of pain.

The Tower has intricate machinery foreign to current human technologies. For instance, there is no stairs to travel between floors. Instead there is a crystal which, when touched, can be used to teleport either to the next floor or the first floor. By choosing the latter, we can teleport back to the last floor that we had accessed from the first floor, or start again from the second floor.

Some people have resigned to a peaceful, if not boring, life in the first floor. Others had decided to challenge the Tower itself, ascending from floors to floors, dying again and again from the traps and monsters yet becoming stronger from the process. Subconsciously, everyone desired to reach the highest floor, because of the words burned into everyone's mind when they first entered the Tower.

"Welcome to the Tower. Death is not the end. It is the beginning. For the one who could reach the Top, a wish will be granted."

Well that's a long rant. So yeah. Tell me if you're interested, or if you have any suggestion to make it better (^U^)

I'm curious, things like post length, character construction, and roleplay set up would probably make people more interested as well.

I agree with @Rain. The idea itself is intriguing and I very much enjoyed the little intro you did here for the story. But until I see the details, I'm afraid it is more curiosity than anything.
