@Darth Pai - First, let us know when you post the character sheet. Second, what happens if you character is paired/coupled with a spouse that dies of illness (as I assume happens frequently enough there are widows/widowers). I have a character in another RP this is a widow and since that RP is churning to a stop, I was considering whether or not that would work here! I assume once you are widowed you are not coupled again... but what societal expectations are there for someone in this predicament?

It depends on the age of the widow and whether or not there is someone compatible. If the widow is over the age of 28, they no longer apart of the genetic match up. Considering the widow already had a past spouse and they're over 28, it would be a definite no. However, if they're between the ages 18-28, they possibly. If the Love Harvest finds a proper match, of course. :]


If they're 18-28 - yes (if the Love Harvest finds someone compatible)


If they're over 28 - no
 
Oh dear, this has me horribly excited now! I do think I'll make a young widow who is subjected to another Love Harvest. I can't imagine it's terribly pleasant after you've been matched and suffered a loss once already!

Imagine how exciting a Love Harvest could be! Here you are, plodding along in your life, and you are promised your perfect match. Sure, there is the allure of passions in your adolescence but to have someone muddle through the difficulty of compatibility and finding the man/woman that would make a perfect child and have the personality traits you are destined to like?


It might be a loss of control, and would certainly put a dampen on young relationships, but there would be that 'safety.' You could ignore the world around you, ignoring the difficulty of managing time to meet people and weed out the incompatible; eventually you'll be awarded regardless. And maybe you don't ever want to marry but if people are truly matched as well as you anticipate, that person will share similar opinions.


But then you breeze through a Love Harvest, you're promised to someone, and then they die. Maybe it was not only your SINGULAR relationship but the only one of great affection besides your parents. That person was beside you, yours alone, and was so well-matched. How could you ever trust the Love Harvest to find someone just as worthy? And what if you come to rely on them and the system again only to have them die? What would you do?


SO MUCH EXCITE.

Bit of a random post, but I was thinking, would this make sense as the standard sidearm for the military?

It looks futuristic, holds what seems like a large amount of ammunition, is bullpup style for better accuracy, and could probably handle single fire, burst fire and automatic fire.


I may or may not of also been looking for a decent sidearm to supplement Artis' sniper rifle, since long barrel rifles are bad in CQC situations.


Also, I never got the answer on if I could make my own name for the Special Operations team she's on or not xD
 
Go on and make it Ver, I doubt Pai will mind. And if she does, then that will teach her to put me in charge of you lot xD

Third and fourth paragraphs of the overview, I don't think you're allowed to opt out =/ What with the whole, 'you only exist to make more perfect kids thing'.


I think messaging Pai about it would be best.
 
@Veirrianna Valentine Already OOC commented on his CS regarding that specific fragment. Thank you for giving a hand though :P
 
I'm not embarrassed to say that I misunderstood. I felt like it added to character development but I'm not going to fight for a trivial detail. I'll get right on fixing that.


Edit: I've changed that one detail and I removed one or two other things.

How much you wanna bet that, if I were to be accepted (prepares for random argument about the subject), I would be the worst roleplayer in this whole entire thing. I'd bet the amount of money the US loses each year.

If I ended up getting accepted as well, I might have to challenge you on that all of you are exceedingly exceptional writers, I can just tell.


But an optimistic attitude is best so I must say, there is always potential to climb out of our self-dug holes and become ultimately better writers, wouldn't you agree ?

I just read my review and I just wanted to clear up that part Ayl brought up. It was a simple misunderstanding thanks mostly to my lack of detail. When I said "No woman was forced into it." I meant forced into a relationship that she didnt really have a say in. I realize that the Love Harvest is not only a social obligation, but also a law, but it doesnt mean that people have to like it. 
I guess the simplest way would be to say, does he like the situation? No. Would he prefer that no one be paired up with him so he can keep a clear conscience? Yes. If he was paired up, would he refuse and be executed? Hell no.
 
I Think I'll be joinin' in on this shazam. Currently writin' out my Char ;)


Update:Finished that stuff, brace for the constructive criticism.

@CommodoreOlaf Pai did the reviews for page 1 of the Sign Ups, I did page 2. Sy is probably gonna do page 3, but she may not, since there are only but a few apps on that one. Take it up with her :P

I can understand that, I'm born Australian so I'm rather good at english ^^. If you're looking for an image of how I write then the look should help abit. Although I have to admit that I was losing motivation at the end because of someone powerplaying. Just look for the posts by me, Hanzax, with the Initial D ava & sig.
