Fantasy Enemies of Eternity. (Not accepting)

Jun took a moment to process what was just said, as well as what had just happened. It would appear that Ewan was a shadow of some sort, judging by the way he slipped into the wall. He wondered to what extent Siobhán's powers were capable of producing, whether or not it was just this being, or if it was control of shadows in general. Then again, it could also be manipulation over light, or the lack thereof. It would probably be more plausible for it to be the first thing, however in the grand scheme of things, none of these powers should've been exactly plausible. That in itself was another thing entirely... The fact that the human race had come up with a way of injection for people to gain powers, was extraordinary. It seemed like a thing that should have been theoretically impossible, but here it was. Even the gate keepers seemed irrational, but yet somehow they were around as well.

"Yes, and no." He replied simply, turning his attention back to his laptop screen. Jun had finished the chips, gingerly dropping the bag into a little trash bin beside his bed. He moved on to eating a strawberry hard candy. Not the kind that had the jelly in the middle, but a solid flavored one. Jun found it disturbing to bite into a candy and have it gush into his mouth. He would soon probably have to go out and buy more sweets, and food, as his supply was rather quickly diminishing. He couldn't help but eat so much in one day, it was mainly a coping mechanism to deal with his anxiety. That, and music helped along with it too.

The raven briefly wondered when his power would be made apparent, but little did he know that tuning out the world would soon become easier than it had beforehand. His focus shifted to an article that documented the past couple of years in which the gate keepers started inhabiting Earth, or rather the dimension that this Earth was in. Jun found anything of the sort to be vastly interesting, and he could only hope to one day understand even more about what was going on. If Ewan decided to elaborate on anything in the conversation, Jun would most likely not be able to hear at this point, and that is to say it isn't because of his disinterest in conversing with people, (or shadow beings, for that matter,) but because of his inability to hear at this point. The sound vibrations wouldn't filter through his ears, much to his ignorance. Jun would have to learn how to filter the vibrations he picked up, soon after discovering his ability.

Watching Archie's pro air-guitar skills almost seemed to intensify Lusine's aureole sparkles. After he had stood up she had clapped her hands while smiling quietly.

"Good, `cause I'll have to put on a show to celebrate you getting your powers."

Afterwards when they had met up with their neighbor, Lusine noted how quickly Archie had ducked back into their room, not even waiting for the orange-haired girl to introduce herself. Ten different possible reasons why zipped through her mind, but none of them seemed particularly important at the moment. Still, it did seem rather impolite.

Lifting herself up from her curtsey, Lusine thought about how best to answer the girl's question.

"Today is just for you to get used to the school and perhaps your powers. Classes will start tomorrow. They'll want you to try getting used to your weaknesses and strengths."

She grinned, then remembering her duty as a Bishop added,
"since Archie's already introduced me, I'll just add that I'm a Bishop and happy to help if you need anything. For now I'd better check on my roommate."

Excusing herself, Lusine quickly blobbed back into the room. Her little suitcase of items needed to be unpacked, and she casually chittered about the majesty of oarfish to Archie lying on the bed. She wasn't even sure if he was asleep or not, but thinking that he must be tired, she didn't pester him too much as the day wore on.

((lame post is lame but I ended up getting caught up in helping my friend all day))

"That's true. Most of these airheads won't last very long on the path that they're heading on," Evelina agreed, a small frown appearing on her face. It always happen when humans acquired new powers. Some thought it made them invincible despite the injection clearly proving otherwise. That would mean they would be careless, and later, dead anyway. Her lips curled into a smile when Siobhán mentioned switching. Some knights could have powers that might possibly fit into either but were better as a knight. Evelina was not one. "I don't think I would do to well there. If anything, maybe sabotage you and the other members on accident," she responded, playing along. "I do hope the best for your other members though. Compared to where they're going, this is all sort of fun and games, isn't it?"

@Ironrot

"You know the difference between AAG agents and soldiers? Soldiers are trained to survive. I train soldiers." A little over-dramatic, but it was important to Siobhán. She stood and checked the ground below herself; Siobhán had expected Ewan to return by now.

"I'm thinking of taking a few choice pawns on a hunting trip. The deer are moving back into this area and it should be a good way to see what they are made of. You should join us, when I figure out who us is."

Siobhán offered Evelina a quick "It was good to see you" before heading inside. She found the room mate listing and collected her key before haeding to the room.

Ewan continued to pretend to relax. This boy wasn't exactly talkative.

"Well, lets hope its something good. And quiet" He said, making an impossible to see smirk with his two dimensional face. Jun did not respond. Ewan was beginning to get annoyed. "You know, if you're not atleast going to grunt or smoething it's going to make living together really difficult." No Responce.

Ewan stepped out of the wall and leant over Jun's should. "Oi!" He said, taking an aggressive tone. He was going to continue until he saw a confused look on Jun's face. "Can you hear me?" Ewan asked.

Before Jun could answer Siobhán opened the door. She checked that Ewan had delivered her bags then looked at the two boys. "Is something wrong?" She asked. Ewan gave her a shrug.

"I think the injection has made him deaf" Ewan suggested.

As Jun was still reading through the various online forums, he noticed movement near him in his peripheral. He jumped slightly, and turned his head, curious as to why Ewan's mouth was moving, yet no sound was coming out. He furrowed his brows a little, scenarios running trough his head rapidly. On the one hand, there was a chance that Ewan was just messing around with him, however judging by the look on his face, that couldn't be the case... On the other hand, this could be some sort of side-effect of the injection maybe? Or maybe it could even be a delayed reaction to his body rejecting the injection all together, ultimately ending with his death... But that seemed entirely unlikely.

He kept running through a vast amount of possibilities, even going as far to sort out their variants, down to what type of food he's consumed within the past twenty-four hours. Which didn't actually hold any meaning, other than the fact that he was just trying to cover all his bases.

'Don't be an idiot about this, it's obvious that hearing has something to do with your power...' His logic reasoned. His thoughts began to overlap each other, almost deafening his brain if possible.

'Can you hear me Major Tom?' It was almost patronizing.

'Something to do with hearing, or perhaps even sound...'

'you're just dying, why bother?'

'I can't even concentrate.'

'You have to snap out of it sooner or later.'

'Fake it til you make it buddy, that one worked out for you before right?' One had a particular snide to it.

'Think it and it will happen... Think about hearing them, and you should be able to..
Theoretically that is...'

Jun took a deep breath, and let it out slowly, his brain turning it's gears, as he concentrated on hearing... Or picking up the vibrations of the sound really. It managed to work, and he caught what Ewan said, to the girl who was now in the room. He guessed that this was his roommate.

"No, I heard that..." The raven said simply. Even the light ringing could be perceived in the background. "Interesting.." He muttered. This had to mean that his power had something to do with sound. He wouldn't say 'hearing,' because in order to hear, the ear had to pick up sound waves, which is what his hadn't done a few moments prior. What did this mean exactly? Jun, for the time being, didn't have much of a clue... Though now it would seem he knew what his power was.

8:15 AM - The training rooms.

It was an early rise for the students of the AAG. Today, was the start of the second day in the new Pawns lives, and possablely another two steps to their deaths. At six AM the first year students were told over the intercoms to meet in the training hall. Just like the auditorium on the first day, the hall was packed with students. It was almost as noisy as the first day too. The training hall was quiet literally a hall. The ceiling hanged over them, 100 feet above the tallest students head. On both sides of the hall were systematically placed metal doors. Large, gray, and slightly reflective. As the last of the students gathered to the hall as told, a man in a familiar black pinstripe suit walk out of one of the training rooms. He held a megaphone and without warning, yelled into it. Creating an unbearable noise for those unlucky enough to be standing next to him.

"Hello noobs. I am Jeff, or as you will now call me, Mr.Burke. Within these rooms, you will train your skills in your up coming fights against the Gatekeepers. Simple enough right? Each room will be assigned some Pawns and some higher ranks. As higher ranks it is your job to help Pawns when they need it. As Pawns it is your job to not die during training. You will find that the rooms are nigh indestructible. Only three people in AAG history have been able to break those walls so play your heart out. Now then, I will read off the names of those coming into this room with me. When I call your name, step on in." From a piece of paper, Jeff began reading off names. Because of the laziness of the narrator just assume that if you are reading this, your name was called.

As the students entered, Jeff would shake there hands. Once all the students had entered the doors would close. The training room was a large white cube shaped room with thin black lines forming a grid on the ground, the walls and the roof. The room was filled with training dummies, a sparing pit in the center, an obstacle course, many random spikes of varying sizes among other random training equipment. Jeff stationed himself at a podium that had a wide array of many different sized and colored buttons. "Alright kids!" Jeff hollered in the deepest voice he could muster. "You all have free time. Play around, find your powers and use them to your hearts content. Try not to kill each other or make a mess. Oh also, find your power out soon. The storms a brewing. If you need any help or want something to spice up your training then talk to me." With that, Jeff sat down and opened up his pink flavored book, not paying any mind to the students.
