One x One Elder Academy (Naguru x Jukuto)

Naguru

Esoterically Discontented
Welcome, the universe of this RP is an altered Elder Scrolls universe where a new threat known as the 'White Blight' has driven many of the species on Tamriel near to/to extinction. With this new threat also comes a bunch of original content concepts to grasp so make sure to read on!

Setting

The Imperial Bastion stands at the centre of Tamriel where the Imperial City once stood. At it's centre is the Elder Academy, a facility dedicated to fighting the white blight. All initiates of the Elder Academy are trained in several different fields of expertise with the express purpose of destroying the white blight and those infected as well as safely extracting and sharing any new information in regards to the white blight with the Academy.

Several generations have past since the Imperial Bastion was founded and over those generations the Elder Academy has lead several expeditions outside the bastion, what they have found is that the longer a creature is infected with the white blight the stronger and more twisted they become, but this also means they demand more food to remain alive. Additionally, all maps of Tamriel are not longer considered to be accurate, as the white blight has changed the land mass of Tamriel immensely, some how shifting, raising and lowering land in certain, heavily infected areas. Finally, it appears there are still native creatures thriving in this environment including some tribes of Giants and Falmer.

Magic

With the inception of the white blight a new kind of magic also awoke within the creatures of Nirn. This new school of magic is known as the 'Blight' school of magic. It is extremely hard for native species of Tamriel to grasp but not impossible.

The most primitive acts of Blight magic is involve some basic manipulation, strengthening and weakening of infected, making this new school of magic both extremely important to the Elder Academy and extremely dangerous. The use of Blight magic is strictly forbidden under the penalty of death with the exception of certain members of the Elder Academy. Blight magic is both feared and praised by those general populace, some believe no good can come from trifling with the enemies magic while others believe salvation and the ability to purge the world of the white blight lies within this school of magic.

The basic principles and flow of Blight magic involves infecting or marking a target with the white blight and then using a flurry of other spells to buff, curse, save or destroy the target. It's applications and foundations still remain largely unknown and actual useful application of Blight is only in the hands of a few specific individuals.

Species

All of the main races of the Elder Scrolls games are still alive and present, though in heavily reduced numbers, however, the Khajiit, Bosmer, Argonian and Redguard races are closer to extinction than of the other races while the Imperial are the most numerous.

A creature infected with the white blight often just gains the prefix 'Blighted' in front of their original name, unless the creature has become so strong/twisted as to no longer resemble the old forms expected characteristics in regards to strength, agility, intelligence, ect. these creatures, the ones so twisted and corrupted as to have a new form, are called 'Pudid' (P-yew-did). Although Pudid originate from different species, the slow transformation that any species takes on seems to trend towards some similar characteristics, for this reason Pudids nearly always walk on two legs, have one to three long white tails as well as enlarged hands and fore-arms.

A creature that was born from an infected host is known as an 'Akuma' and will have the 'Aku' prefix attached to their origin race. Aku display some odd characteristics, they're all albino housing extremely pale skin and red eyes as well as snow white hair. It is also extremely hard for them to use traditional forms of magic but they are able to grasp 'Blight' magic a lot faster than others, additionally they're also immune to the white blight. Besides this they retain most of the traits of their original species. Akuma are an extremely rare occurrence and are considered to be very valuable to the Elder Academy.

Sub-Species

Sub-species such as werewolves and vampires still exist in this universe, however, it appears that the white blight is able to 'purge' the source of these powers from infected hosts. Whether that is true or not is yet to be confirmed.

Purgestone

Purgestone is a new type of mineral found deep in the bowels of the land usually impossible to obtain, however, through the use of the Elder Scroll in Elder Academy a method to make an inferior version of the substance simply named 'Urgestone' was discovered, this substance along with powerful Blight magic also discovered through the Elder Scroll became the salvation of the Academy and has allowed the construction of the Imperial Bastion.

The use of Urgestone to protect and help facilitate the construction of the Imperial Bastion arose in the form of 'Blight Barriers', these are obelisks of Urgestone that, when influenced by a particular Blight magic spell, will resonate a magical frequency considered to be toxic to the white blight. For this reason any Akuma brought to the Imperial Bastion are forced to wear a collar not serves both as protection from the Urgestone frequency and also a method of swift annihilation should the Akuma step out of line or threaten the safety of the Imperial Bastion.

When used in the construction of armour and weapons Urgestone has yielded favourable results in fending off attacks from infected as well as when dishing out damage to infected. Additionally, Akuma have a weakness to this type of weaponry, Blight magic is also weakened by this material but not nullified.

Surviving Culture

The cultures of the surviving encampments/groups of the main races have become vastly different from their original cultures as well as from one another. For now, I'll only address the culture of the Imperial Bastion citizens.

There is extremely little in regards to racial persecution or discrimination and many citizens of the different races have been forced to abandon their traditions in favour of efficiency and survival. Magic is now more heavily embraced and has earned a place next to brute strength as an attribute of a true warrior in the eyes of most. The gods are still acknowledged but vary few still worship them, some even posit a position of turning their back on the gods like they have to the people of Tamriel in the wake of the white blight.

Many fringe groups of religious zealots exist for the purpose of continuing to pass on the knowledge of their ancestors traditions, among these groups of those of the black hand.

Player

The player (Jukuto) will be taking the role of an Akuma and they'll be paired up another Akuma, my character, for assignments, lessons and general activities. The RP will follow a series of 'arcs' each offering a goal to achieve and sometimes a reward to help character development in the RP.
