8 Maidens and Bachelors mixed from the modern day world find themselves transported back in time to play the role of their ancestors. They all are 'required' to discover their person's backstory and what dark secrets are hidden amongst it's timeline. A Murder ball is where everything starts, the victim being connected to "The Eight Dancing Swans"-or, the seven characters playing within this roleplay. A mix of romance, olden day bargaining & trade, and a huge mystery. One for who was the killer, and the second of what was your/their backstory.
Whether it be that you act out of character on accident...

Myrefall is located in a much more ruralized area neutralized with the cheerful folk gathering around on it's land. Swans are the key thing that symbolizes Myrefall-swans are known for beauty and grace, intelligent in their own ways. That is why being a pretty boy or girl helps around-it earns a person their caste. The fashion around Myrefalls also encourages beauty. The town is split up within rankings-castes. The royals are known for being extremely gorgeous, and filthy rich, which sends them high chances of doing things other can't. For ugly or poor people, or those who weren't born in the proper families, they are sent towards the lower levels. I'll list the levels.
1. Only for royalists.
2. High respected people personally known by the royals themselves, and get or have good jobs. Easily Married off. Royal guards and tutors for royals can be found here too, sometimes.
3. The lowest of the high classes that get good yet somewhat low-depending on how job applicators think of the person in general.
4. Often side performers or those who work under apprenticeship of the higher 2 classes; 3 & 2. Royals have certain qualified assistants.
5. People who live in a terrible-ish home, or at least a low classes cottage. Jobs are hard to find.
6-7. Very hard to get jobs, or earn money, treated poorly.
8. People who broke rules and now are slaves.

Jobs vary, as they are not the same as ours. Doctors are called Physicians there-3 or up in ranks are only accepted. Performers are often 4-classes, whereas painters, pottery makers, and other crafts are classes for 5. 6-7 classed people are often cooks, cleaners for others homes, and maids for other people-not including the royals. 8 classed people are slaves, Not playable, and used as torture tools. Classed 2 people in the castes are like Architects/Builders or just paid as one of Myrefall's models. High classes people can have lower ranked jobs, but will get paid more due to class. Royals/1 classed members can have all the below, but gets paid by the government, etc, for ruling a kingdom. There are several royals around and leading Myrefall, all competing on who's kingdom is the best.
I'd say only one person can be a royal-but this one has a catch. For anyone participating as a MC royal prince or princess will have to have another character as a MC replacement of something else if they don't get their royal accepted. This makes everything fair for the one-special-role-right. Hopefully people actually spend some good time on making cs's now because of this. Therefore several people can apply for the royal without worrying they couldn't try.
Our characters that are MCs are way different from SCs. MCs are one of the seven-any caste besides 8, and a high-risk for 1- who don't know who they are. They are technically having the mindset of people now 'adays, becoming some random person from the past. But that 'ancestor' has done something in their backstory that actually affects something in the plot. The person who got pulled in gets curious and is brave enough to look through the mist-covered history of their 'character'. Note that no one knows that there are others like them who are technically from the 'future'-unless someone slips up towards the middle and few exchange the secrets.
The SCs are people from the past, not one from the future, and can be from any caste / ranks ; a person that helps and or or affects the MCs and plot. Such as, a antagonist trying to kill off a MC (under that users will), or a SC that has some knowledge of the MCs backstory (under that users free will). Let's see how many folks jump in, because I'm sure it's not a lot.
Myrefalls is also known for it's waterfalls around the area, especially with the encounterments of actual swans around too. Springs and fountains are displayed around or within-and maybe randomly-courtyards of the royal palace or just stray gardens. The village holds cottages in varying sizes, whether the ones in size of houses of Japan, or well paid-for buildings. The royal palace colors are Blue, Red, and Cream/Creme, yet lower castes can wear these colors either to celebrate the royals and during ceremonies, or simply because they can afford or they have it.
