BackSet
The Great Thief Yatagarasu!
Welcome to Edgewright Academy for Courtroom Etiquette. A school for training young people who want to be lawyers, be it defense or prosecutors, how to be lawyers. Sound like a bad idea? Your probably right. But it exists. And it's just asking for trouble.
Normally, all court cases are simulated. There are no real crimes. It's all acting. So there's no need to be worrying about anyone getting hurt while you're pointing your finger and objecting. It's all just fake. Until it isn't. It's a week before Winter Break when suddenly a real murder happens, to the surprise of literally nobody out of universe. At the scene of the crime the murder weapon was found a long with a note reading simply "Revenge." A suspect has already been arrested.
However, it's possible that this suspect did not commit the murder. Despite the fact that all evidence points to them there may be a different perpetrator out there, laughing at their success. It's the job of you, a small group of students, to find out who really did it.
Unfourtanetly there's also some people who wish for you to fail. They wish for the trial to be over and done with with the suspect locked away for good. Why? Maybe they just care about winning, maybe they have no morals, maybe one of them did it? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that the truth is uncovered.
And one more thing, since there aren't any lawyers around, two of you must take to the court. One for the defense and one for the prosecution.
GM Notes
Alright, let's do this one more time. My name is Peter Parker. I was bitten by a radioactive spider and for-
Wait, that's not right.
Let me try again.
Heyo! I'm BackSet and this is a reboot of a reboot of a previous rp. I'm trying it again cause it didn't get very far. But it will this time cause I'll force it to! Or else! Anyway it's about a wacky, Ace Attorney style law school and a murder mystery. The whole thing is based around the AA legal system cause I'm to lazy to look up real law practices amd it's more fun that way. The age range for characters is 18-21. You can choose to be either a defense attorney or a prosecutor. All forum rules apply. One paragraph at least. And that's about it.
Oh, one more thing: if we manage to get past this first one I plan for this to be a series (same characters, same setting, different case) so don't go anywhere.
BackSet (yes, I tagged myself) @KairiNyaa @TheTimePiece @PolikShadowbliss wanna get in on this again?
