Four Thousand Club
As of 2029, the world fell to an parasite that transforms it host into flesh eating monster's that rapidly decay. The parasite was different than most, as it formed a resistance against all antibiotics we gave to infected patients. Our strongest medicine didn't affect the parasite, as it spread quickly, causing panic among the nations. Before we could issue a health warning, half of the U.S. was infected. We set up blockades and cut off all forms of transportation to and from the United States. And then... We did the unthinkable.
We nuked America.
The initial shock was enough to hold of rioting for a few days, but eventually, entire countries were at civil war. We were so caught up in trying to bring order back to any of the remaining countries that we didn't noticed that the infected were alive. And they were... mutating... First, it was the occasional 'shark'. What we didn't notice is that these were much more than sharks. April 3, 2021, two men were rushed to the hospital. One was missing a chunk of his side. The other? He was missing his leg and his frontal lobe. We didn't know what to think, but the government did. When we saw what was happening.... We didn't know what to think. But the government knew. Oh, they knew.... It was now evident that whatever was out there in the water were NOT sharks.
April 6, 2024, two days after the attack that shed light on the current situation, a drone was sent to scout out the remnants of the U.S. It didn't get very far. Before it had a chance to retreat, a 'bird' knocked the thing out of the sky. We asked to see the video feed.... They denied our request. This raised suspicions. Soon enough, people were illegally taking boats to the U.S., but the radiation from the nukes killed them before they even got close. Ten more attacks occurred over the time span of 2024 and 2029. Over this time span, we noticed that now, the only way the parasite could be transmitted was through contact. Not like, cough cough or sneeze sneeze. More like bite bite and claw claw.
But anyways, let's go back to the attacks.... They seemed... planned. Coordinated, organized. Like these zeds were being leaded by someone, or something. It's like they weren't attacking us to try and hurt us.. It was like they were attacking us.... To see how strong we were. January 1, 2029, we were attacked. We didn't know what hit us. All kinds of freaks were attacking. The next week, the military was no more. We didn't have anyone to protect us now. We are the inhabitants of the remnants of Earth. We have to protect our Dying Earth
