Fantasy Dragons Reborn

PeteTSs

A Marvelous Derpfish
Mostly WIP

There exists a world that was once ruled by dragons, but now for some mysterious reason most of the dragons have disappeared, save for some of the smaller dragon species. But that was 2 thousand years ago. Now, the world is ruled by the four most successful species: Humans, with their incredible technology and reproductive speeds; Elves with their superior archery and cavalry; Dwarves with their advanced mining and crafting; Orcs with their powerful bodies, built for war. These four species have fought battle after battle, war after war against each other for the right to rule over the world that was once the dragons'. After an especially bloody four-way battle which have resulted in incredibly heavy losses on all sides, the four species have finally achieved an uneasy peace with one another for the time being. Everything was fine until the day when the Earth split open. Dragons, now just a mere legend, a children's tale across this world, poured out, dozens after dozens, hundreds after hundreds. Will the four species finally form a lasting alliance to face the threat of the old ruler of the world, or will all chaos ensue with all sides trying to rein in the dragons' power to their own advantage?

Elise Ironfist

Elise was tired and annoyed as she rode into the town. It was dark and only a few scattered men walked the streets. She wouldn't blame them, humans were weak willed and could not stand the cold and wetness of rain as it fell from the heavens. She frowned at the men as the rain continued to drench her. She hopped off of her horse and tied her to the post before going inside with an obvious look of disapproval on her face.

"I am looking for someone," she shouts to get everyone's attention. "She is a dwarf and I hear her fighting skills are unmatched around here. I wish to talk to her peacefully and if they refuse...well...they will get a fight." She sounded confident. Her confidence (or stubbornness) she got from her father and that could be good in some situations in which you needed to seem to know what you were doing, but other situations you could get someone killed.

She had her trusty warhammer strapped to her hip and her shield on her back. She wanted to assemble a squad together to go fight off the undead that had been rumored to be roaming around on the continent. She took a deep breath as the air began to become so tense you could almost cut it.

"But first I wish to have a drink and a room to rest for the eve," she looks over at the barkeep and pulls out a bag of coin. "How much will it be to stay the eve?"

Lila
Lila lay flat agaisnt Ryuu's back, as he looked for a place to land. She yawned, loud and long. They had been travelling for at least a day now, with no sleep for either of them. She looked up at the early morning sky, and it still being dark out, the stars still shone. There were quite a lot of them out here. You couldn't see very many in the cities she usually stayed in, but out here, the whole sky seemed to be lit up. It was quite beautiful, surprisingly. She resented this thought, as she didn't even wwant to be out here, away from any city. But, she figured, she would make the best out of the situation. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she began to doze off.

She was jolted awake when Ryuu, in a desperate attempt to escape the arrows flying alla round them, dove straight at the ground. She was thrown out of her saddle, but she managed to grab onto the edge of the leather, and pull herself back up into sitting positions. Tye hit the ground hard, hard enough to launch Lila off Ryuu's back, and into the woods, and to knock Ryuu out. After she had collected herself, Lila found her way back to Ryuu's crash site. She began he task of moving the dragon out of site, and mumbled to herself as she did so. "....That's it bud.....come on......almost there....." After an hour or so, he was hidden, and she had begun to build a small fire.

Alisa Elien

No sooner than Elise asked about how much a room cost than could fighting be heard from upstairs. A grown man roughly six foot in stature came crashing through the guard rail and onto a table below, effectively destroyed the table, after an angered shout from a female. Said female happened to be Alisa, the dwarf that Elise may or may not be looking for. Emerging from one of the rooms was Alisa with a cocky accomplished grin on her face. Saying nothing she ran and lept from the newly created hole in the guard rail delivering the man a dropkick to the gut and forcing him further into the rubble.

The room grew temporarily quiet as everyone waited for the small dust cloud to settle, a rather comical sight of a dwarf standing triumphantly on top of the human male fading into view quickly. "Whose the pipsqueak, huh bud?" She asked the unconcious man before chuckling lowly. Of course, the guy did the worse possible thing one could do, and that was call Alisa short.

For Alisa being short didn't matter, at all. She'd still kick your ass either way. Standing up from her partially crouched posistion the dwarf moved her hair back to where it belonged, revealing all her various tattoos and her bright orange eyes. Walking over to the bar as nothing had happened she hailed the barkeep and quickly ordered a mug of Ale, calmly chugging it as she observed her work and wondered when the man would regain conciousness.

Mae

She'd been wandering for three days now. Three days with no food, little water, and no shelter of any kind. A constant worry of being murdered in her sleep by wolves or a bear. All Mae wanted was somewhere safe! She hadn't even seen a lone cottage in the dense forest she currently wandered.

A growing sound entered Mae's ears, steadily getting louder. She turned around and gazed at the sky, and managed to see a dragon fly overhead as it soared past. "Woah.." She whispered. Dragon sightings weren't uncommon, living on top of a mountain and all, but that didn't mean it wasn't amazing everytime the reptilian creatures came near.

Suddenly a tremendous crash shook the ground, interrupting Mae's thoughts, and making her stumble against a tree. "What was that?" She wondered aloud. It was from the same direction the dragon had flown.

Deciding to go and investigate, she began weaving between trees, keeping to the shadows and watching her surroundings. After a little less than an hour of walking, she saw a thin curl if smoke above the treetops, meaning there was someone near. 'Maybe they can direct me to the nearest city,' she thought.

Elise Ironfist

Elise raised an eyebrow towards the sound of arguing and fighting upstairs and in a matter of seconds after she realized what was going on, a man crashes through the guardrail and falls onto the table below. Foolish man, he probably picked a fight with a dwarf. Never EVER anger a dwarf, they may be small but they were vicious in a fight.

"You must be the one I am searching for. Elise Ironfist," She extends her hand with a serious expression on her face. She was examining every detail of the girls face to see if she trusted her or if she was worth the trouble. She knew that the girl was going to cause and had been a part of a lot of trouble.

Water slowly dripped from the braids Elise had in her hair, but she ignored it, keeping her eyes set on the other dwarf.

Lila

"Ugh....I'm
so hungry." Lila grumbled as she searched through her only surviving pack. Of course, it was Ryuu's, and was simply filled with a simple healing gel, and fish. Lot's and lot's of fish. Which meant she was going to starve. To be honest, she would rather starve than eat fish. "Ryuu...." she whined, "wake up and get me some real food. I'm starving." But, alas, there was no answer from the dragon, as he was still fast asleep. She took his example, and rested on the tree behind her. Soon, she was in an uneasy sleep.

Alisa Elien

As soon as Elise said she was looking for her Alisa immediately turned around to face her apprehensively. Generally when someone was looking for her it wasn't good, at all. Dwarf or not she studied the woman before her curiously, she had no way of knowing if the woman was after her for something she'd did or not. As such, she didn't accept the handshake. "Names' Alisa Elien. What do you want?" She replied pointedly before chugging the rest of her ale and slamming the mug down on the counter. "Before you ask, no I won't find your lost cat. You'd be surprised how many people ask that, really." She told her. "Damn, your face looks like it got hit by a brick, you know that?" She added with a snicker.

"
Mm..I guess if I squint a little you don't look half bad. At-least you're not fat." She commented with a shrug. Alisa had kept a straight face the entire time, not really feeling bad or anything whatsoever for what she told Elise. Though she fully expected to get punched, she didn't really care.

Forrest

The young man was hanging from the low branches of a tree, trying to hide from the dangers of humanity. His own race, turned against him because of his ears and tail... disgusting. Skillfully swinging himself up to the top of the branch, Forrest began jumping his way to safety, hidden within the dark leaves of the trees he was so familiar with.

...

More than a few hours had passed since Forrest's escape from the merciless group of hunters, and if it was anyone but him in the situation he was, well... they might be faring a lot better. The man and his strong tendencies to hunger easily weren't exactly helpful. Holding his poor, growling stomach, Forrest sniffed in the air for the thousandth time for even the smallest hints of food, and... he got one? He got one! Immediately, he jumped down from the low hanging branches of the trees, dashing to where that wonderful smell was coming from. As he had guessed, it was a fire, accompanied by a little girl and a dragon. Well, none of that mattered because his face was already stuffed with most of their supply of fish, and not a tang of guilt was felt as he ate food that didn't belong to him.

Elise shook her head. "I do not care about lost cats. I am assembling a team to go fight some undead that are rumored to have risen. But if you are too scared to fight thwm, I guess I have the wrong person." She turns and begins to walk out of the building and back into the rain. Before leaving she says, "I guess my father was wrong. General Ironfist was never wrong, but I guess he is now because all I see in you is a drunken nobody." She walks out into the rain and let's the door close behind her. She was testing Alisa to see what she would do and how she would react.

Mae

As Mae crept closer, she heard the voice of girl. She was telling someone, presumably the dragon, to get up and find food. 'I've never met one of those dragon tamers.' She thought.

After a few seconds of mental debate, Mae stepped out of the shadow of a tree and clasped her hands in front of her. "Hello." Was her monotonous greeting. Even if she didn't have food, she might have directions, and Mae needed both. She quickly stepped back though as Forrest appeared, gobbling down a bag of terrible, evil fish..yuck.

Lila
Lila was woken to a strange, feral looking man in front of her, seemingly eating her fish. Wait...maybe a bear? Never theless, she stood up quietly, and picked up her dagger. Then, she pulled her cloak hood up, so it shrouded her face in darkness. She raised her small knife up in front of her, and was about to plung it ino the creature in front of her's back, when a girl stepped into veiw. She stared at her, and then raised her dagger up, so it could be seen by the girl.

Forrest

Did the girl really have to get close to him? Could she not tell by the way he acted that this was Forrest's element? But whether he wanted to fight or not, he at least had to let her know he wouldn't get killed so easily, and slamming one of his fists into the ground, a small tree sprouted behind him, knocking the dagger cleanly from Lila's hands. Even as he pulled that same hand up to continue eating, the tree loomed over the girl, Forrest beginning to speak with his mouth full. "Nmph... Not a smrrhtht... move," he stated with a gulp before wiping the fish from his face.

Lila
Lila gasped slightly, as her dagger was knocked out of her hands. She scrambled to pick it up, then edged her way around the bear-man to Ryuu. She kneeled beside him, and shook him slightly. "Come on, come on! Get up..." Slowly the dragons lids opened, and he gave a great yawn. "Look bud, someone's eating your fish..." Ryuu simply sleepily started at the bear-man, and didn't react.

Alisa Elien

Alisa stared dumbfounded as Elise walked out of the inn. Alisa wasn't drunk, far from it actually. She could out drink anyone that challenged her after all! Not only that she'd called her a nobody, did she not know who she was? Did she not just see her kick that guys ass? Hopping up and chasing after her she stopped her slow advance with a hand on her shoulder. "The hell do you mean I'm a druken nobody? For one I'm not drunk, for two I take it back you actually are kind of fat, for three I'm the strongest damn dwarf this side of the capitol. What do you mean I'm a nobody?" She questioned furiously. It was evident she was mad, not nearly as mad as the guy she'd nearly killed, but still extremely mad.

Forrest

It wasn't until Lila had walked over to Ryuu that Forrest learned who's food this really was. Slowly, he stopped eating the fish like the animal he was and looked up at the dragon, a blank expression on his face. The bear-man wasn't necessarily scared, but he felt a little bad for stealing so much food from a hunt. Suddenly, Forrest sent a slow nod to Ryuu that just screamed "Let's go fishing". Whether the dragon would understand what his nod meant or not was to be determined.

@Scattered Ambitions

Lila
Ryuu understood, he understood very much. He was quite eager to go fishing, since most of the fish that Forrest has just eaten was at least a day old. And old fish is never good. Ryuu walked up to the man, cocked his head, and then head for the nearest body of water, Lila barley hanging onto the saddle.

Forrest

Forrest looked at Ryuu with a puzzled expression on his face. Why was he taking the girl? "Hey, uh... dragon! I can't exactly go swimming with clothes on, because you know how mold is with clothes and all that other stuff, but I don't exactly wanna undress in front of a little girl. Can we at least leave her here before we go get the fish?"

@Scattered Ambitions

"EW this forest is so gross why am I even here?" she declared as she batted away another cobweb. Willow was destined for some meeting with the human shifters, but she wasn't sure why she had to go alone. This entire situation was very trivial and much testing her patience. She didn't get out of the city too much just because she has a lot going on, so a solo trek through the woods to the human territory was vexing. A branch snapped not far away from her present location, causing her to immediately freeze and stare wide eyed at the source of the disturbance. Willow didn't know what even roamed these parts of the wood, and to be frank, she didn't want to know. If it were up to her, she'd just trample all these trees, but alas, that was probably not a good idea if she wanted to conserve her energy the whole journey. Grunting, she forged on, pushing through the undergrowth with her claws and partially her tail. She was not about to touch those thorny bushed with her bare hands, but she had to be cautious about whom she came across so as to not show her dark violet scales. That might cause trouble. After a small while, she found a berry bush, immediately eating some, for it was high time she had some food. After a minute or two of shoving the small round packets of energy into her mouth, she cleaned up and kept going forward. Well, what she assumed was forward. To be honest, she wasn't even sure if she was going the right direction, but she always hoped! Her feet were already muddy, and she wondered if that disappeared when she shifted. Better not find out; she didn't want mud in her shoes! With a shiver, she continued her journey, hoping to make it somewhere fast.

"You are a nobody who beats up weak humans. My father was wrong for once," She says coldly. The rain continued to fall from the sky and slowly soak both of them. "I will tell you now...let go of my shoulder or you will get hurt," she angrily says.

She may not look like it, but she was strong enough to flip the dwarf over her shoulder and onto her back. If she did not let go of her and give her respect, there was going to be a fight. She closes her eyes and slowly builds up energy and stores it so she could summon her companion later in case there was a fight.

Mae

After the girl waving her knife around, Mae simply raised an eyebrow and backed into the shadows. The girl had no idea that Mae could be at her throat in a millisecond, and she didn't want to cause trouble.

Besides, the current scene was more interesting than anything she had to say. Apparently, this man had eaten all of the dragon's fish, and, after knocking the girl's dagger away from a plant that came from seemingly nowhere, he offered to go fishing with the dragon to make up for eating all of its food.

'If I were a dragon, I think I'd just eat him.' She thought, tilting her head. "Can I come too, please? I'd like to see how dragons fish." She announced.

Alisa Elien

"
I only kicked his ass because he insulted me. Just like you're doing." She replied coldly. Really, was the girl TRYING to get punched? Elise would find the water droplets falling on Alisa were now evaporating as soon as they touched her, her hand on her shoulder would also be becoming warmer. When she told her to let go her grip only tightened. "Make me. I don't think you have it in you to hurt me." She practically growled through grit teeth. She might not have her scythe-axe right now, but she wasn't threatened by her shitty hammer or words either.

Sabrina---Middle of nowhere

Sabrina trekked through a cobweb-filled forest. She was wearing her trusty bear-skin cloak as she pushed through the underbrush, protecting her vulnerable human parts of her body. She was in quite the hurry to get to nowhere in particular, but all she knew was that she had to get some samples of those rising undeads. She crashed through a particularly thick bundle of underbrush and fell on a clearer path, cloak ripping off, right in front of another girl. She looked up, and quickly squealed in fright when she saw the other girl "Wh-Wh-Who are you!" she squeaked, putting her arms up as if to protect herself.

@Kazehana

Willow the Hydra

Willow was just minding her own business when some random girl came crashing into the path that was to lead her to her destination. Her attention immediately snapped from looking around aimlessly to the girl in front of her. As soon as possible, she shifted back into elven form, mainly so as to not allow her to see the other side of her. Willow stopped and narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the newcomer, not sure what to make of her. She appeared to be... wearing a weird costume of sorts. After a moment, she responded, "The real question is, who are you?" She didn't really have time for this, especially since she was probably already running late as it was. If she could finish these shenanigans quickly, she might be able to stay on schedule. "Actually, I don't have time for this. Excuse me, but I must be going," she stated as she shouldered past the girl. She resumed her trek, though now her gaze lay solemnly forward as if determined to not be distracted once more. Though it may become more complicated if there were more people around. It would mean that she wouldn't be able to shift even a little, which made her weary of what was to come. So far, her hydra features had carried her through, and although the extra speed was nice, she would much rather have the tools to hack through the forest. But the path looked fairly clear, so she could manage for the time being.
