”There is a stigma that men are more powerful than women, but I beg to differ. I’ll show you the power of a Saiyan who is also a woman!”
"To grow up alone is a fate unbecoming of a Saiyan, but it has made me stronger than I dared hope. I can only continue to hope, and with luck I'll always have Era by my side to push me to even greater heights."
Date: Koroda Ich (June 1)
Metahnn.
A planet barren and devoid of much life beyond the natural necessities to supply enough oxygen for the Saiyan Race to breathe freely. One large ocean encompassing only 2/5 of the planet's surface, the rest a lot of rock and forest with little else to diversify it or its inhabitants. It is a harsh world where only he strong survive. In nature, the top of the food chain is the Cau'me, a massive reptilian biped standing over fifteen feet at the hip when hunched forward with a mouth capable of opening to more than twelve feet to engulf two fully grown Saiyans at the same time.
The Saiyans saving grace?
Their power level.
Without power levels exceeding at least 70, a Saiyan would otherwise be easy prey for this natural born killer of the wilds. They are rare, but very powerful for naturally born and bred creatures on an otherwise uninhabited world by alien humanoids such as the Saiyans. But now their time at the top of the food chain is long since past. Luckily for the Cau'me, Saiyans don't often enjoy the taste of its flesh or meat, even when cooked by masters. They are safe to be the top predator of the wilds.
But on Metahnn, the wilds are nothing but a training ground for the young to weed out the weak. Children of the Saiyans who venture into the wilds for training and never return are forgotten, while the strong who return are trained further by their fellow Saiyans.
It is a harsh world indeed the Saiyans inhabit. You grow up fast, or you die. It is that simple. There are no loopholes, and no exploits. When a Saiyan child does not take life and their training seriously, they die. No questions. No complaints. All parents know that their child could die at any time. Such is the life of a Saiyan. No matter how much they may love their children, if they become parents to a dead piece of flesh, they abandon it to the whims of nature and move on with their lives.
On this day, beyond the limits of the cityscape... The skies were abuzz with bursts of energy caused by the clashing of two great powers.
To onlookers without sufficient power to observe at speed, it was a blur of motion and explosions of raw energy. To those who were powerful enough to observe at speed, the exchange was as clear as day.
In the sky, in the middle of a training session, were two old friends engaged in combat. One, Era Niir'lana. A long haired beauty of voluptuous proportions with a sense and aptitude for battle far exceeding her given power level. The other, Sil'Eph Niir. Another long haired beauty of near equal voluptuous proportions who's lack of proper experience off the training floor often led to her not being able to take advantage of her full potential.
Lately, the two had been training almost non-stop to help Sil overcome her weaknesses... And it's paying off.
The sky exploded with a burst of concussive force as the right knees of both women collided, both of them pushing and giving a grunt of effort in an attempt to overpower one another. They may have been best friends, but right now they were locked in combat and refused to give anything but their all until one of them could no longer continue.
They broke away from each other, reorganizing their strategy before disappearing from view. Once more, to those with sufficient power to observe at speed, the exchange was clear.
The two women were fighting in very close quarters, trading blows and blocks at break-neck speeds. Era threw an open handed inward palm strike towards Sil's head, who responded by turning her head to the side and letting only Era's fingers graze her cheek as she pushed the arm past her body and spun around to deliver an elbow strike towards Era's jaw. Era responded by ducking down low and flying downwards, forcing Sil to give chase once she stopped her previous attack. As Sil caught up, Era abruptly stopped, landing a headbutt to Sil's lower jaw and knocking her back. Sil was dazed, allowing Era to rush forward and slam her elbow into Sil's stomach knocking the wind from her lungs.
Sil had just enough sense about her to force a burst of energy through her body to counter the effect of Era's blow, returning air to her lungs allowing her to breathe and counterattack. Sil grabbed Era's elbow and pulled her down to the side, landing a knee to Era's stomach and then placed her hand behind Era's head and delivered a Ki blast. The blast was meant to push Era down to the ground, but Era slipped away once more by curling her body into a ball and rotating with Sil's push until her feet came all the way back around to deliver a double kick to Sil's shoulder. Sil was pushed away, but was spun around facing Era from the blow. She released her Ki blast anyway, but Era powered up and as the Ki blast hit her aura it was vaporized...
That was new!
When did she learn that, and what WAS that?! Sil thought.
Era released her aura and rocketed forward, landing another knee into Sil's stomach while she was contemplating what Era had done.
Damn! Distracted again! Sil thought.
But this time, she had flexed her stomach to lessen the impact and was able to reach forward and entrap Era in a forward facing bear hug... But there was a slight issue. Era's bountiful chest was now smothering her, and as much as Sil felt this wasn't such a bad thing given their sisterly bond it was rather inconvenient as she couldn't breathe. She acted quickly, pulling in hard against Era's struggling and spinning backwards flying down into the ground. Using Era's body as a shield, she protected herself while drilling Era head first into the earth over eight feet deep.
Sil flew up and out of the small crater, and waited for Era's next move.
Era pulled herself free, stood up straight, brushed her bangs to the side, and smiled at Sil.
Damn! My power is one hundred and twenty points higher than yours... Why is it that you aren't taking damage?! She thought angrily.
Sil charged Era, who's eyes flashed with energy, and as Sil reached her Era brushed her incoming punch to the side, grabbed her wrist, pulled Sil all the way around in a circle and slammed her down into the ground head first. The grab and pull hyperextended Sil's shoulder, popping it out of its socket at the same time before the final push to the ground. With her shoulder in great pain, Sil pulled herself free and turned around to see Era floating in the air waiting for her.
"Tch."
Sil grabbed her shoulder and violently shoved it back into its socket with a loud popping sound. She rotated her shoulder, and felt the pain of the hyperextension, but otherwise she could still fight.
The two continued training for another five minutes before Sil finally fell to Era's overwhelming battle sense and was knocked unconscious by a blow to the back of the neck. Era gently grabbed Sil and set her down on the ground before standing up and letting out a long sigh.
"Well done Era," came a male voice from nearby.
Era turned with a smile.
"Commander," She replied.
Commander Korvaiis, leader of Era and Sil's Raid Group, and the object of Era's affection though it is entirely one sided. He stood tall at nearly 6' 4" weighing approximately 240 lb. A fine specimen. Handsome and brave, powerful yet calculated. He was everything Era could want in a man. Unfortunately, Korvaiis was married to his work and held no interest in relationships beyond the chain of command. He did share a bond with all his Raid Group members, but that was as far as it went.
"I believe that does it for today. You two have done well these last several weeks. But now is the time to prepare for our next Raid. You have two days to get your affairs in order, and we depart for a newly discovered planet on a Purge Mission."
"Yes, Commander!" Era said with a salute and a bow of her head.
Korvaiis bowed his head in return, smiling to her and flying off to deliver the news to the other members of the Raid Group who were elsewhere on Metahnn. Era picked up Sil and flew back to the Medical Bay not far from the Launch Facility so doctors could look at her hyperextension and make sure she hadn't pushed it beyond their ability to prevent permanent damage. They confirmed she'd be fine, which was good to hear. The last thing Era needed was to cripple her old friend and comrade.
Once Sil woke up with her arm in a sling, the two of them departed the Medical Bay to go get something to eat.
