Fantasy Dragon Age: The 6th Blight

PenBlade1326

The Faint Light In The Dark Tunnel Of Life
It has been over 2 hundred years in the world of Thedas since the 5th Blight was stopped by the Hero of Ferelden, and Urthemiel, the 5th old god was slain as an archdemon. There has been peace in the world, although there has been unrest between the mages and templars as usual. Darkspawn have been seen throughout the land, and strange events occurring all in Thedas. As time progresses...many peoples worst fear comes to life...a Blight is here. The 6th Old God, Razikale, the Dragon of Mystery has been tainted and risen as an archdemon, and the Grey Wardens are too few in numbers to face it. Thedas is in termoil and chaos is reigning throughout the world. Now, it is up to a small band of warriors, rogues, and mages of all races to stand together, put their differences aside, and face this threat together.

In Peace, Vigilance. In War, Victory. In Death, Sacrifice. - Grey Warden motto.

(ROLEPLAY STARTED!! @Xal of Lanterns Lost @kirito1337)

A warm day in Redcliffe Village, people going about their business, merchants trading with the people, and the soldiers and older..."gentlemen" drinking in the tavern. Rumors of darkspawn attacks in Ferelden had been causing commotion. The soon-to-be-heroes (all of our characters) had made their way to the village for their own individual purposes. Mordred had traveled far and wide to the village, covering himself in a dark cloak to hide himself as he moved through the village, quiet and...creepy. Amaria had been traveling with her fellow wardens in hopes to make an alliance with Redcliffe using the ancient treaties. They already had the Circle of Magi on their side, as well as the dwarves of Orzammar.

Hours after the sun had arisen, chaos struck the village. Darkspawn had surfaced and stormed the village on instant. It was a shock, most of the villages forces were killed in a matter of minutes. (our time to shine and assemble!) Hurlocks, genlocks, and a mighty ogre all plagued the village, killing the people and ruining everything in sight. Mordred had began to flee, until he witnessed a child being attacked...he saw the child as an innocent, and though he didn't care for people, he wouldn't stand for this. He aimed his staff at the genlock and blasted it with lightning. The child escaped, then causing Mordred to be attacked. He cast a wall of fire, then a lightning storm in a small radius around him, killing nearby darkspawn.

Amaria whipped her greatsword out, all her two-handed might served her well as she ripped the nearby Hurlocks to shreds. She charged for the ogre, taking it on alone against her senior wardens wishes. For such a kind girl...she was reckless in battle. Barbaric, even.

(sorry it was long/short, but it's only the first post lol)

Giza grinned, watching her new charge slashing away at the darkspawn. She'll make a fine Grey Warden, Giza thought before jumping in herself. She slashed in a circle around her with her double edged spear. The darkspawn fell to the ground, instantly replaced by another group. Giza focused and then threw her hand in the air as more darkspawn got closer. They piled on top of her, but with a flash of light they were thrown off. As the light faded it became apparent that she was covered in armor that appeared to be made of rocks. She cackled and then went running through the throng, knocking darkspawn out of the way like an avalanche knocking trees as it thundered down a mountain.

Having taken a considerable number of darkspawn out, she plowed her way back to where Amaria was taking on the Ogre, to see how she was doing.

*************************************************************************************************************

Darrin's search had led him to Redcliffe. He looked down at his map, and then back at the path in front of him. He was less than a mile away from the settlement. He shifted his bag on his shoulder, readjusted his hood to make sure they covered his ears, and continued on his way, looking around as he was. It had been a little less than a year, but he was still relishing the feeling of freedom once again.

His relishing was cut short by the sounds of a fight, and a large one at that. It appeared to be coming from the direction of Redcliffe. He secured his bag on his back, and drew his sword, warily continuing down the road, his pace quicker than it had been a moment ago. As he came over the hill and into sight of Redcliffe he paused in shock. The village was burning, and throngs of demon creatures were scampering around. He had heard the stories of darkspawn from his clan, but he had figured they were ghost stories, or at least that he would never meet one. Now here they were.

He shook his head, focusing. There were still people in the town, and they would need help. He glanced around to try and locate the people who seemed like they needed the most help, but his attention was taken by a small child who was being attacked. He rushed in the direction of the altercation to attempt to save the child when suddenly the genlock that was attacking it went flying towards Darrin apparently struck by lightning, barely giving him time to dive out of the way.

When he jumped back up and was relieved to see the child running out of the way, but his attention was again taken from him as he took note of the whirlwind of fire that had appeared. Either the weather had gone crazy, or a mage was responsible.

((So, that wasn't as good as I had hoped... but... tag! Who's next!))

The scraping of a blade from its holster proceeded an invisible shadow striding across the battlefield. Darkspawn in numbers too numerous to count. Celio Varzian regretted ever leaving Antiva for a moment. The moment passed though. Genlocks were less persistent than Crows. Celio lunged a dragonbone dagger into the heart of a darkspawn. His backstab despelled the concealment illusion shrouding him in mist. The others creatures pillaging the town turned their sights on him. Celio snagged a gold piece and a shiny garnet from the genlock's corpse before the other darkspawn rushed at him.

Celio reached for his long bow but his hand grazed his shoulder blade. An almost comical flash of disappointment crossed his face. The tavern wench had it as collateral for his tab. Along with those enchanted arrows. "Wonderful. Fighting Darkspawn is just not the same without feeling their breath on my face." Celio weaved through the buildings to lose their attention. He crept into an alleyway and broke off in another direction.

Flashes of magic made him frown until he discovered they were from a mage rather than a darkspawn. The handfull of individuals fighting were strangers to Red Cliff. Or at least, Celio didn't recognize them. Carriers of misfortune then, he decided. Celio's golden gaze lingered on the woman throwing herself against an ogre. And then the sack attached to the darkspawn's hip. It contained a few gold pieces at the very least.

Celio concealed himself again. He avoided colliding against scuffles between the town people and Hurlocks. Celio reappeared to slash the orge's ankles.

Smoke plumed upwards, harsh against the yellow light of the morning sun, from the buildings of Redcliffe. Sairus's steps quickened as he neared, a variety of thoughts rushing through his mind. We were supposed to meet here. I wonder if they had wind of this? Climbing over the shattered gate and entering into the township, he shook his head and dismissed the thought. They would have been more prepared if that had been the case. The sounds of clashing metal, the screams of innocents, the roar of flames, it all called to him, pulling his mind away from other thoughts.

Heading down the path with long strides, he drew the great-sword from its place on his back and slowed as he neared the streets. Taking in the flurry of action around him, he quickly spotted where his skills would be of most use. Intercepting a group of genlocks as they emerged from a path ahead and to the right, he swung his weapon hard and fast, severing the disgusting creatures legs before it had a chance to defend itself. The two that followed were easy enough to dispatch as well, the first falling to a piercing strike as it lifted its weapon to attack and the second to a quick double slash, though it managed to block the first, the impact from the first swing left it wide open for the second.

Turning to the left, he saw several others had mounted a defense against the invaders, though judging by the numerous bodies littering the area he surmised things were not going well. He quickly focused on the largest threat in the area: the ogre. Currently, at least two others were engaging it with several others not too far off. At least there seems to be some competence here. His attention quickly shifted as he noted the hurloks moving to flank the ones engaging the ogre. Hopefully things improve and nothing else shows up . . . He wished silently and took off at a run, letting the flat of his blade scrape against the ground to draw the hurloks attention moments before plowing into them, swinging in a deadly arc.

((Opening posts, my one weakness!))

(I am so so so so so so so so sorry that I haven't posted. Real life has its way of sneaking up on me and striking me with a dagger of stress. I am, however, still interested in this, especially with DAI so close. Are you all still interested? Am I forgiven, and if so, shall we continue?)

With Dragon age three--I'll definitely go back and replay it choosing different decisions, different love interests. Maybe side with the Templars... maybe not. Those guys suck.

Ahh. Got you. I'm gonna do a qunari mage first then human rogue and my last will probably be a human warrior. Might do an elf, but will depend on how I feel. But yeah. It's hard to like the templars . . . The mages aren't overly likable either. Just more oppressed.

I legitimatly am playing DA2 right now.... cause I can't wait.... :P

Also, of course I'm still in! :)

I am also currently pre-loading my game... :P

I don't do preloading. Must have physical copy . . . Otherwise I would of course. Was tempted to do it with SSB, but resisted. Inquisition should have a fancy metal case . . . I love fancy metal cases.

I played it some today and a few days ago. Haven't gotten much accomplished other than maxing my dignity and prosperity. Oh, and hitting 0 freedom . . .
