Personality: True to the color of her hair Riley has a fiery temper. She's a free-spirited girl who takes issue with anyone who dares to stamp on her freedom or the freedoms of others. She's deeply compassionate, oftentimes putting herself at risk to help the less fortunate. She has a deep hatred for the Chantry and the Templar Order.
Background: Riley was born to a Dailish mother and a human father. Long before she was conceived her father had passed away, but was resurrected when he permitted a spirit of compassion to possess his body. Due to the unique circumstances of her birth, Riley possesses a strong connection to the Fade. This has made her an object of great desire for the many demons who occupy the world beyond the Veil. Her childhood had been rough, between the constant threat of demon possession and that of the Chantry her family was always on the move. From a young age, her father had taught her everything she would need to know to resist demon temptation and to survive in the wild. She grew up learning how to hunt, where to find shelter, and how to find water or food. When she was sixteen the Chantry came for her. Her mother tried to resist them and was killed in the struggle. After she died the spirit possessing her father fed off his negative emotions and became a demon, turning him into an abomination. Riley had managed to escape while the Templars were distracted by the demon-possessed mage. From that moment on she survived on her own, utilizing the skills her father had taught her. A year later the blight came to Ferelden. King Cailan and the last of the Gray Wardens were killed during the failed defense at Ostagar and the blight spread rapidly after that. Riley barely managed to escape aboard a smuggler's ship, but the vessel had been attacked by darkspawn before it could leave port. Carried by the tides, the wreckage of the ship eventually washed ashore in the Free Marches where Riley had been found by Lord Echryn Ducant and his two sons...
