en years ago, the Herald of Andraste and her Inquisition forces saved southern Thedas by successfully sealed the Breach and defeating Corypheus. Remaining demons in the region were snuffed out and the Inquisition dedicated its manpower towards aiding Ferelden and Orlais. Slowly but surely, order was re-established and towns were rebuilt.

Orlais and Ferelden found peace again. It seemed southern Thedas would not have to worry about another world ending threat again for some time.

The Exalted Council snuffed such a notion from their minds. The revelation that Solas, former Inquisition agent, was actually the Dread Wolf and had plans to tear down the Veil meant that peace was lost to them once again. The Inquisition, with no choice but to have their forces absorbed by the Chantry, re-focused its efforts on tracking down their former friend.

Solas and the Agents of Fen'Harel remained elusive for many years until he was finally confronted during a ritual to destroy the Veil. While his efforts were stopped, the interruption of Solas' ritual had catastrophic consequences. Ancient elven threats, Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain, were released from their prisons.

With their escape, a Sixth Blight has been unleashed upon all of Thedas.

Although the Evanuris have their eyes set on northern Thedas, this does not mean the south is safe. The Blight has spawned and crawled its way into Ferelden and Orlais as well. The two kingdoms, alongside smaller political factions, have set aside their differences to form an allegiance to face this new threat. Agents are sent to meet in the birthplace of the Inquisition, a rebuilt Haven, in order to establish a task force which will personally investigate the new Blight.

Thank you guys for your interest so far! I'm hoping we can find a few more people (:

I would love to join! I haven’t played Veilguard yet, but I did play the previous two games.
As long as you don't mind being spoiled on the threat Thedas is facing and the new factions, you should be fine!

updated the first post to make a formal interest check and offer a look at potential roles! if you feel another faction/group could be an interesting addition, feel free to let me know. i will work on more lore and the world states if we continue to garner more interest.

i added three roles lmao
a inquisition agent, a red jenny, and a representative of clan lavellan

Do you have to be well versed in the game or could you go in blind? Will you have a lore channel for those of us who enjoy the story concept but have no knowledge of the game?
Just curious. I'm still just really tentatively lurking but I am curious.

Looks like you have gathered a nice amount of interest

Mmm, it's not impossible to go in blind, but I can't promise you won't be confused. I'm in a different Dragon Age roleplay with a few people who have never played and they basically just did research.

I will have a lore page that addresses what "world state" this roleplay takes place in. World state is basically an overview of what the player chose to do in their game and how it effects the world. Aside from that, much of the lore of the Dragon Age universe (religion, politics, etc.) will not be explicitly written out, but questions can be asked and answered. Dragon Age also has a very thorough wiki page.

It's doable, so ultimately it kind of comes down to how much reading you want to do

updated the role options to include links to important info, hopefully that will help for anyone that's not as familiar with the series~

Super interested if there's still space?! I know Dragon Age very well and have been craving writing it. There's a few factions I'd be interested in playing but I'm flexible. :)

There's space! I'm still in the collecting interest phase~

I assume we will have a set world state revealed at some point? E.g. Royals of Ferelden, Orzammar and Orlais?
Yes, the world states are next on the list

Almost done with the world state! It'll be pretty simplified since it's really the choices in Inquisition that will impact the roleplay the most

I just got a letter in game about the war in the south which makes me even more excited for this.

The Hero of Ferelden is Elissa Cousland, a human noble woman and rogue. All companions were recruited and survived the Fifth Blight. Elissa became Queen of Ferelden alongside Alistair as King. The party supported Bhelen and he became King of Orzammar.

The Champion of Kirkwall is warrior Garrett Hawke. All companions were recruited and survived the events which took place in the city. Garrett chose to support the mages and ultimately accepted the catastrophic actions of his lover, Anders. Kirkwall elected Bran Cavin as provisional Viscount until 9:43 Dragon. The title passed onto Varric Tethras until he appointed Aveline Vallen as acting Viscountess in 9:52 Dragon.

The Herald of Andraste, or Inquisitor, is mage Ellana Lavellan. All companions and advisors survived sealing the Breach. In order to close the Breach, the Inquisition allied with the rebel mages. The events at Adamant Fortress resulted in Stroud being left in the Fade and the Inquisition allying with the remaining Grey Wardens. The Inquisition was invited to the Winter Palace where they saved Empress Celine's life, along with restoring the Empress' relationship with elven spymaster Briala. The Inquisitor aligned herself with Abelas and convinced him to allow Morrigan to drink from the Well of Sorrows. After the defeat of Corypheus, the Inquisitor's lover, Solas, disappeared.

Leliana was named Divine Victoria and the rebel mages safely formed the College of Enchanters. Following the Exalted Council, the Inquisition became a peacekeeping organization under the Divine. The Qunari chose to ally with the Inquisition and Ben-Hassrath disavowed the Viddasala's actions. Cassandra Pentaghast rebuilt the Seekers of Truth and earned the title of Lady Seeker. The Inquisitor vowed to save Solas, following the revelation that he was Fen'Harel.
