Max was sat at a business party wishing she were anywhere but there. However, when the Targaryen's told her to do something she did it. She owed them her life for intents and purposes. She had fallen in love at a young age with the youngest Targaryen brother, and she thought he had loved her the same. They were expected to get married, have children, and spend their lives happily together. Until he left her without a word, disappearing from everyone's lives. After that they could have kixked her out, made her homeless. But instead they let her stay and still be apart of their family. Because of that, she felt she owed them if they ever asked her for anything.
Eddie was just getting off the stage of the last show for his tour. It was an amazing show and tour, but he was ready to get to his home so he could finally rest. Though, he did wish that there would be someone waiting there that wasn't just his cat. He raised an eyebrow as his manager rushed up to him with wide eyes "Hank whats wrong?" He asked while guzzling down a bottle of water "Just had an amazing show, no need to worry about the numbers man!" He said giving a small laugh knowing his manager always worried about the revenue they would bring in.
Hank frowned as he waited for the band to get off the stage, hearing Jamie close it out and made his way over with eddies cell phone “Ed… you gotta call Carmen back. Right now. She’s been trying to get through to you…. Go sit down and talk to her.” He told him, nudging him through to a quiet room as he knew what had happened.
Carmen answered when her ex husband finally rang her back, shaking badly and still crying. “Ed?! Ed you need… need to come home.” She choked out, sitting on the floor in the hallway of a hospital.
Daemon let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding for a while once he was handed a drink, sighing a little while he checked his phone. He didn’t think he’d ever be back home again. Not in this lifetime at least. The firm had made it clear as day how they felt about him and how they wanted him gone. So he’d followed instruction. It tore him apart to do it but he left the love of his life and walked away but now he was back and he was weighing his options as to whether or not he would try to go back and see her. To finally explain what happened.
Eddie frowned but gave a small nod and made the call back to Carmen. She was his one, the one woman he truely ever would love. Things had been great for them at the start, highschool sweethearts, two kids, but once he hit it big things took a downward turn. They fought constantly and neither of them were happy. He still spoke to her as frequently as he could though, always sending her money as well to make sure their now 5 kids were taken care of. He immediately sat up straight when he heard her crying down the line "Carmen....Carmen whats wrong?" He asked gently feelimg everything around him stop when she said their eldest daughter was gone.
Max sighed heavily as she sat at the end of the bar sipping her drink and trying to not talk with anyone. Her business had been taken care of it getting a message to one of the firm's newer clients, but now she had to sit around and just make an appearance. She looked around for a moment going wide eyed and choking on her drink when she spotted him. She new the snow white Targaryen hair anywhere. Though, he had cut it down entirely, he still looked just as handsome as the day he left.
She took a minute to even be able to say it but finally managed. “There was an accident. Someone hit jacks car. He’s… he’s okay but Tilly… she’s dead Eddie. She’s gone!” She yelled down the line. “You have to come home I can’t… how do I tell the kids?!” She cried.
Jamie stuck his head round the door a little later and frowned seeing the state he was in. “Jesus Ed what happened? Let’s get you out of here they’ve been looking everywhere for you. Carmen okay?” He asked him.
Daemon wandered over to the bar after finishing his first drink and ordered another, grabbing a handful of peanuts to chuck in his mouth, glancing around the room to see if there was anyone he recognised, hoping desperately that the answer would be no but eventually his eyes landed on her and all he could do was freeze up.
Eddie froze and gulped some trying to find the right words. "I'll be there tomorrow okay? I will get a flight tonight. Carmen just...just take them home okay? We can tell them together." He said quietly before hanging up. He looked over at Jamie as he heard his voice "Tilly...she...Tilly's dead." He said in a hoarse voice from all his crying. He got up slowly with his best friends help and got back to the bus as quickly as they could.
Max turned away as soon as possible not wanting him to recognize her. Her mind started to wander though, to things she knew he needed to know. After finishing her drink and giving herself a small pep talk she walked towards the man she had loved. She gently tapped his shoulder frowning though as he ignored her and continued to talk with the random person next to him. She knew he was ignoring her and it was infuriating her.
Carmen finally got up off the floor and made her way back into the room they had Jack in, sitting on the edge of the bed and gently brushing his hair out of his face. “How you feeling baby? Your dads on his way home okay? We will talk to the others when he gets here. You want me to get you anything?” She asked him quietly. It wasn’t his fault in the slightest but he wa so like Eddie it scared her sometimes and she knew how he was thinking.
He thought that if he ignored it she would give up and walk away but it seemed he’d been gone too long and forgotten how stubborn she was, eventually turning around when the other person left and frowned. “You need to leave. Go home. Now.” He told her seriously. He was beginning g to piece together all the litttle things about this job he’d been given this time and so he didn’t care that his first words to her in several years were pushing her away, he just wanted her out of there. He wanted to know she was safe.
Jack looked at his mom as she came into the room again gently shaking his head. He had come out with a broken wrist and concussion but he was gutted with the fact he couldn't save his sister. His lower lip trembled just like Eddie's would and reached out for her "Could...could you lay with me?" He whimpered acting like he was a child again just needing his mother's comfort more than anything right now.
Max stayed there until the person left not about to let him slide after 3 years of absense. She frowned deeply as he turned to her and said to leave. "3 years and thats what you have to say to me?" She quesioned shaking her head as he persisted "Daemon we need to talk, this is something very important. If you want to go disappear again afterwards fine, but we need to talk." She said seriously to him.
She nodded and moved to lay with him, holding him to her gently. “It wasn’t your fault Jack. It wasn’t your fault.” She coaxed him gently, getting him to lay down and get some rest. The others were at her moms place and she would pick them up in the morning but for now she was focused on making sure Jack was alright.
He had turned away again but quickly turned back and glared at her. “Are you not listening to me?! You need to leave! Right now! Do not make it look like you are rushing but get out.” He hissed at her, trying to push her away.
Jack layed back against her before he burst into tears shaking a bit "It was Mom, had I just taken the long way home...she'd still be here." He sobbed as he hid his face in her neck "Why would they take her like that?!"
Max shook her head glaring at him more "Not until you agree to have a fucking conversation with me. Doesn't have to be here, but we need to talk." She spat before going a bit wide eyed when she heard shots ring out through the bar.
She frowned and stayed silent not having an answer for that. She lay with him until he was asleep and then wasn’t to fall asleep in the chair, just from exhaustion, ending up staying like that until she woke up in the morning to Ed shaking her awake, jumping a little when she saw him. “Hey… how you doing?” She asked, standing to hug him tightly. She still cared for him deeply but they just didn’t make a good match anymore.
He grit his teeth about to argue back again when it all stared “shit! Right you’re coming with me.” He muttered, lifting her with ease and chucking her over his shoulder to get her out of there. He used to carry her to their bedroom like that but it felt like a distant memory now.
Eddie arrived early that next morning and went straight to the hospital. He asked for Jack's room explaining he was his father when they tried to say it wasn't visiting hours yet. He got in and took a shaky breath seeing how beat up Jack was. Gently he shook Carmen's leg to get her awake "Hey....I uh...I'm here." He whispered before hugging her close to him. He still loved her dearly, and would love to have her back in his life, but he knew their lives just didn't work that way.
Max gasped as he immediately threw her over his shoulder with ease. It brought back memories but she was soon taken out of those thoughts as more shots rang through "What the fuck is going on Daemon?!" She yelled as he continued to rush with the crowd of people trying to escape.
She frowned as she pulled away, smelling the leftover weed and sweat on him and got him to sit down. “They’re letting Jack go home this morning. They just wanted to keep him for observation… they wouldn’t let me see her Ed. They said it was bad enough I couldn’t see her.” She mumbled, swallowing back tears.
“Would you wait? Fucking impatient still.” He muttered, finding the back exit and got her outside, still carrying her though until he got to his car, setting her down. “Right. Get in. Then we can talk. I’ll take you home.” He muttered.
Eddie sat down beside her and gulped when she said they couldn't see her "Oh god.." he whispered before letting a few tears fall "I couldn't even sleep last night....goddamn it how did this happen? " he asked looking at her with heart broken eyes.
Max huffed but went silent until they got to his car. She frowned some as she got in quietly not sure what to even say to him right now. "What was that?" She asked as they sped off away from the chaos that was unfolding at the bar.
She frowned and shook her head. “There were two cars racing and one of them slammed into the back jacks car… she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt.” She mumbled, staring at the floor until Jack started waking up and she went to go let his nurse know they would like to get his discharge sorted.
He grit his teeth and stayed silent until they were far enough away then finally pulled over. “A planned attack. What the fuck were you doing there?! Of all the goddamn times for you to be stubborn you ever see me and I tell you to just fucking leave you should get out!” He snapped at her before driving off again towards their old place.
Eddie shook his head some and took a deep breath. He turned his head quickly in Jack's direction when he heard him start to wake up abd smiled some. "Hey there bud, your mom is going to get your discharge papers." He said quietly
Max frowned more and shook her head a bit "I was running an errand for YOUR brother." She spat before he started to head back to their old home. It worried her though that there was a hit out for that party and the two of them just happened to be there, it couldn't have been a coinsidence.
Jack groaned a little before hearing his dads voice and looking over at him frowning. “Dad? … I’m sorry… I’m so sorry! It’s all my fault.” He whimpered, “I was taking a shortcut and if id been anywhere else they wouldn’t have hit us… and I didn’t know she took her seatbelt off.” He sobbed
He frowned and shook his head. “You shouldn’t be in contact with him. This is all so wrong. He fucking promised me.” He muttered to himself as he parked. “We need to talk. Let’s get inside.” He told her frowning.
Eddie shook his head some taking his son's good hand in his "Hey hey calm down, calm down bud its okay." He said softly giving his hand a squeeze "You didn't do anything wrong okay?" He said quietly trying to get him calmed.
Max frowned at his comments but stayed quiet until they got to their old home. She gave a nod and got out of the car heading to unlock the door. She sighed heavily as they got inside but went wide eyed when she heard a little girl's voice yell 'Mommy!' Running straight into her legs. She gave a small smile and picked her daughter up to give her a hug "What are you doing home huh? I thought you were with your cousins for another hour."
He frowned and shook his head. “But it’s not right.” He muttered, eventually getting to where he was calm enough for them to discharge him and he got in the back of his moms car, the whole ride silent back home.
Daemon walked into the house with her, about to start talking when he saw the small child run out of another room and then one of his nephews. “Daeron… it’s been a long while.” He told him, “tell your father I said hello.”
Daeron rushed out after his cousin and gave a small frown seeing his uncle there "I'm sorry Max...she ran out when she heard the door." He explained but soon left to go find his father once Max sent him off.
Max gave a small nod to Daeron and smiled gently "Its alright, go on now. I've got her." She said before turning to look up at Daemon. She took a shaky breath as she caught his piercing gaze trying to find the right words to say "Daemon...this is Mila....our daughter." She said before trying to gauge his reaction.
Eddie nodded in agreeance with his eldest and gave a heavy sigh "You're right, its not fair and if I could change it believe me I would." He explained before getting him calmed. Eddie followed them to the car once they had gotten Jack discharged and sighed heavily "Could I catch a ride with you? I didn't have time to get a rental." He said as he scratched at the back of his neck.
Carmen just nodded and got in, waiting til they were both in before starting the engine, muttering under her breath when I cut out a couple times before finally starting and drove home. “Ed I want you to shower before you see the little ones.” She told him frowning. “All I can smell on you is weed.” She muttered once they were parked in her driveway.
Daemon just stared at the child then back up at max frowning. “You were pregnant? Who knew?” He asked her, “Who knew before I left?” He questioned her quickly
Mila frowned and held onto her moms hair gently. “Mommy who is that?” She asked her, watching him warily.
Eddie got in the car quickly and nodded some "Right...sorry about that, I didn't get to shower after the show." He explained before falling silent for the rest of the car ride. As they arrived at their home he got out and followed inside going towards the restroom to get a quick shower in for Carmen.
Max sighed heavily and shook her head "I'll answer that in a minute." She explained before smiling at their daughter "Mila this is your Kepa...your daddy." She said softly watching as the little girl perked up a bit and started to inspect Daemon from afar.
Daemon just continued to stare at max frowning. “Don’t… you shouldn’t have told her.” He muttered, waiting til she took the little girl to bed, sitting at the table to wait for her.
Carmen took Jack up to his room to get some rest and then to set up the guest room for Eddie. She hadn’t meant to bump into him in the hallway while he was only in a towel but she just frowned at him some. “The kids will be about half an hour. We need to talk downstairs.” She told him quietly, not meeting his gaze and just brushed past him
Max gave a heavy sigh and shook her head some "Come on Mila, its time for bed." She said quietly before going to her room and getting her to bed. She came back to find Daemon at the front room table waiting for her. She sat down next to him and gave a heavy sigh before turning herself to face him "I had just found out right before you left....I was going to tell you that night." She said softly to him "And to answer your question from before, only Otto knew....he found me holding the test in our room."
Eddie got out of the shower and made his way towards the guest room in only a towel frowning as he bumped into Carmen. He gave her a small nod before sighing softly noticing her adverting gaze "I'll be down in just a minute." He murmured before going to the room. He got dressed quickly in some sweats and a band shirt before going back downstairs his hair still damp and clinging to parts of his face. He sat with Carmen in the living room and sighed some "So...how do you want to tell them?"
