War has ravaged the lands, and in its wake, many people lost their lives. Families were destroyed, buildings were crumbled, and nothing would be the same ever again. This war was different. The use of nuclear weapons caused radiation to sink in the land and kill most in its wake. The few that survived and had offspring- the radiation poison caused their children to have supernatural abilities. Now, years have passed and the children are grown up. Some were taken from the families at an early age while others went into hiding. Whatever the story is- one thing was certain. The war was far from over. The people may believe they lived in peace, but the government had something far more sinister in mind.

Dangerous. That is what they have labeled you. Outcast is what you are. Most do not roam freely amongst the people. They are locked away in a high-security facility. The government doesn't treat you too terrible... But they plan on using you to fuel another war on humanity. You either agree with them or die. Those who escaped the hands of the government are being hunted like dogs. Their fellow human neighbors shun and report them. They are alone in this cruel world.

What will you choose?

In a society riddled with injustice, lies, and war, connecting with people isn't much of an option. Yet you connect with your fellow supernatural men and women. Whether it is a partnership between friends or love that rivals no other- this is no time for love. This is war.

Rules I am not going to be a dictator about this really, but I need to lay out a few ground rules before we jump into the fun!
1.) All RPNation's rule not only applies- but will be enforced. Please review them if you are unsure.
2.) One power per character and try not to take another person's power if they have already claimed it. Some overlap is expected.
3.) No God-moding at all.
4.) Make sure your character has weaknesses. No one is perfect. No one can use their powers forever.
5.) There are a few OP powers that will not be allowed: Time control of any kind, extreme mind control (strong suggestions and things like pheromone control are okay) I might add more as time goes on.
6.) Drama is encouraged but please chat with me and the group that it will affect before just jumping to it.
7.) HAVE FUN!!!

Benjamin "Benji" Tyler Klein
{ Twenty-One / Blood Manipulator / Tagged: Open }
The morning sunbeams slipped passed the slightly askewed curtains that hung from the small window of the bunkroom. The lightly dozing people who slept still warm in their small, twin sized beds were clueless of the storm brewing the in the horizon. Hell, Benji didn't even know the full story on the situation ahead of them. He sat near the window peering out of the small crack between the dark fabric. His golden eyes glistened in the morning light while an almost permanent scowl rested on his angular features. He was deep in thought while the early morning events once more played in his mind. He was completely unmotivated- at least seemingly so. He hated this place and the corruption that led him to be the way he was. Anger was a feeling he was most familiar with and he held on to it with a death grip. If it wasn't anger that consumed him- he probably wouldn't be sane in this place with these people. Still, he was caught for a reason and it was going well for him. His aloof attitude irritated "General" pain Milo. But his leadership skill and mind was enough to have the man interested in him. Ben hated early mornings but this time was different. He was jostled awake by the gentle hand of Doc Leslie who urged him to follow her. A meeting took place between the three of them- one that had him interested and reeling. The brute of a man complimented him, insulted him, and then offered him a job. "You have a great mind, Benjamin. You just have some pretty annoying habits that we need to take care of. I am thinking of putting you in charge of a small group of people here. We need some supplies from the north near the mountains. This is your chance to shine, really. I will even let you help choose the people. If you can manage this simple task- we will be one step closer to our goal. Helping Tonrayal is our top priority, after all." The last words drifted through his mind like venom in his veins. When has Tonrayal ever been anyone's top priority? A humorless smirk formed on his lips with the thought. This did give him a rare chance. He had been one of the longest members in the Facility. Though he caused a bit of trouble every now and again- many before him were taken away and never seen again. He would be able to leave this place and get a view of the outside world for the first time in... years? Yeah, years. But it would cost him. This was clearly a trap or maybe a test. Possibly both. He would have to play this larger than life chess with him and those lives of the people trapped inside this hellish place. His eyes moved from the rising sun to the chess board sitting near the corner of the room. It was well-worn from years of use and misuse. A chess game? If it is his life on the line, he better not lose.

He stood up to his full height and stretched his neck from left to right. Benji moved quietly across the floor to the entryway to leave the room. Light snoring could be heard from his companion as he entered the mostly empty hallway. Nurses, guards, and the like were spread out throughout the entire Facility like nosy roaches. There were a few people making their way to the large cafeteria for roll call. Basically, they showed up for food and a nurse takes down their name. He wasn't too upset about getting food that he didn't have to steal, but it was not very delicious. He stepped inside and was assaulted by the scent of rubbery eggs and flimsy meat of some kind. They were lucky eggs were still around- whether they were dehydrated or not. With a grimace, he put a few items on a plate for show. The authorities didn't approve of an empty plate. He made his way to a seat at a table completely empty of people. Though he may possess leadership skills on paper, he was not a people person by any meaning of the words. Most people avoided him here dude to his scowling face and ugly face scar. He looked like a thug with a grudge. There was one person who would never leave him alone. Someone who came in with him. The name was Neil and he was an energetic guy. Everyone loved him- the type that could make his own shadow smile. Sadly, those people didn't last in a place like this... The thought of his old friend caused his heart to squeeze and his scowl to deepen. His mind was lost to anger and sadness while he picked at his rubbery eggs with a dull spork.

Adrian Weiss
{Eighteen/ Force fields/ Tagged: N/A}
Adrian was by no means a morning person. If he was given the chance he would sleep in until eleven, maybe even to noon. Unfortunately, that's not how things worked in the facility as he had found out the hard way in his earlier years of residing here. Besides, it was far more difficult to continue sleeping when the sun decided to shine directly into his eyes plus hearing other people outside the room walking through the halls to the cafeteria. With a groan, sigh, and thud as he fell to the floor, Adrian picked himself up and stretched; hearing his back and shoulders pop in the process. As usual, Adrian had crashed in his regular clothes rather than sleepwear -not having taken the time to properly get ready for bed the night prior. It was a mixture of laziness and-- no, just laziness. He would usually stay up late attempting to strike up conversations with people, play a game by himself, or simply stare out the window at the sky. The memories of his time outside the facility were vague and gradually fading away the longer he remained indoors, so Adrian wasn't entirely sure what had so many other people here going crazy in wanting to escape this place. Sure General Milo was a pain as were the tests, but it had to be better than life outside...right? Despite that Adrian still found himself longing to escape from time to time. He would never admit this -at least not during the day- as the risk of getting in trouble was far too high for his liking.

Once he had woken up a bit, he ran a hand through his messy hair to untangle some of the smaller knots before hastily making his way to the cafeteria for breakfast. After saying some quick hellos as he passed a few people, he arrived at the cafeteria. The food...could be better, but at least there was something to eat. Now that he was seated with really just a plate full of 'eggs', Adrian poked at his food in sheer boredom. This early in the morning, Adrian would feel nauseous around food, so he had to force himself to eat; otherwise he would be starving until lunch. Why he was like that way he would never know to understand, but he had to live with it for now. His tired blue eyes darted around the room as more people began to trickle into the space, waiting to see if anyone walked over his way so he could maybe strike up a friendly conversation or even a simple hello.

Daxter Wicken (Dax)

Daxter’s first thought was, ‘That’s too many people.’ Far too many people. The amount of people that made his gut wrench with holy guacamole, I am so dead. Because there was a terrifying amount of people dressed in uniform, guards, Dax assumed, standing around the stone gray building. Living on the crowded streets of a poor city, he knew very well the chaos of a crowded street, but this. This was creepy. Organized chaos. Every person had their place, and every place had it’s person. Like a thousand moths that just happened to start flying in a straight line in broad daylight. That was the sort of eeriness Dax felt entering the facility.
And, of course, there was the facility itself. Kids on the street used to tell horror stories of those that got captured and bright to it. Torturous guards and murderous doctors. Starvation even worse than the stray dogs that dragged themselves throughout the streets. Punishments the brought pain stronger than the devil himself could cause. The sheer terror of it made Dax want to scream... too bad he couldn’t.
Then there were the other kids. Everyone always accused them of working for the facilities, attempting to draw in any wannabe empowered rebels. They spoke of halls of safety, free of any bullies. A haven, full of clean water and enough food to keep an army alive. Of course, the latter story the one quickening Dax’s breath, sending his heart into a frenzy of fear.
He gazed longingly behind him at the world, a city far different than the one he had grown up in. No starving kids roamed the streets. No dead cats in the alleyways. No vultures circling overhead. But this still made the hair on the back of his neck prickle. On the streets of the Outskirts, even in the middle of the night, they would be buzzing with sound. Kids milling about, plotting to sneak into cellars. Crickets avidly announcing the end of the world. The stomping footsteps of whatever drunkard was coming home late. Even if it wasn’t the kindest of noises, there was still sound. Sound he could use to defend or distract, if need be. Here it was deathly quiet under the morning rays, save for the odd gust of wind.
Sighing, he turned back to the facility. He paused for a second, tasting something coppery in his mouth. Dax stiffened for a second, before realizing it was only his own blood. He had been chewing his lip so hard that it was bleeding. Wonderful.
Shaking his head in a weak attempt to clear it of the anxiety creeping into his mind, he trudged after the guard in front of him.

Serenity Johnson

Serenity had been up for what she roughly guessed was an hour as she was alerted from the near-by movement. She had been braiding her curled bed head of golden locks for her waking time, trying to tame her frizzy bed head. Once she had been happy with her fishtail braided hair, she stretched out a little, her blue hues flicking across the room as Nurse Leslie walked in. She paid no mind to them, her hand gently running along her blankets. They weren’t the warmest things ever, but she was perfectly alright with that, seemingly overheating too easily these days. Thankfully, because they were thin, she almost never heated up in them that way.

She sighed weakly, rubbing at her eyes as she finally slid out of bed. She messily made up her bed, pulling the sheets over the pillow and looked down to her bare feet. Her toes wiggled a moment, shrugging weakly as she stretched out. Before even debating going to the cafeteria, she stood in the window, smiling softly at the suns incoming light. She found it so peaceful this morning, which wasn’t out of the ordinary, especially with everyone still asleep. She groaned before pushing off the wall and made her way down the hall.

She hummed ever so softly, a little more bounce in her step this morning. Something about today seemed a little more.. interesting.. Past the smell of the somewhat gross food she had no room to complain about, change was in the air. No matter how cheesy it sounded, it felt right to her. It was just in her bones. She went to grab at a plate, her hands quickly working to collect her food, her eyes searching around at the tables. As she turned on her heel, she searched for someone to sit around, feeling socialable today. Her eyes immediately hit towards.. oh hell.. what was his name.. Ai.. No.. Adrian! Right.. who she roughly knew was very friendly and quite social. She shrugged to herself and smiled “Why the hell not..” She chuckled to herself and walked over to his table, taking a seat across from him “Morning.. Adrian, right?” She gave off a small smile, scooping up some of the eggs into her spork “If I got it wrong, I do apologize, I’m horrible with names..” She gave off a quiet chuckle, pushing back loose hairs behind her ears.

Emmaline Leigh Fisher
{ Seventeen / Empathic Healing / Tagged: Open }
Emmaline's breath was ragged and unsteady. In her dirty palms, she grasped a large, red-colored fruit she stole from the morning markets. She was a horrible thief but desperate times called for desperate measures. It had been at least three days since her last meal of beans and cabbage. It was a small serving but then again, she was a small girl. It came from a lovely woman willing to share a meal. The only thing she had to do was help her with this cough she was having... Right on cue, a coughing fit erupted from her mouth at her wheezing lungs. The woman had some sort of bronchitis severe enough to have stayed in the healer's lung for all this time. At the rate the woman was going, she would have died from the disease. Instead, she was alive and Emma paid the price. If she kept healing people like that so openly, she would surely get caught. Did it matter? Part of her gave up on living the moment she stabbed the doctor in his shoulder and almost left him to die. Yet here she was, stealing fruit from an innocent man trying to make a living. Her steps faltered with the guilt crashing down on her. Her eyes brimmed with unshed tears as her mind was transported to the seller who would go home disappointed because of the stolen goods. It was only one, she tried to reason with herself, but she felt as if her legs were covered in molasses. Then it happened- someone called out after her. "Hey, you! What's that in your hands?!" Shoot. She couldn't think about it. She shot off like a rocket like a fire was lit under her. She looked over her shoulder at the man waving her down. "Sorry!." She cried out unhappily. She ran into a few people on her way through the crowds of sick and poor but she didn't stop until her lungs were on fire and she could hardly move her hunger craved body. Panting with an unsteady breath, she pressed her small body against a building falling apart but hidden in the shadows. She glanced down at the fruit with disgust as her body was once more racked with a horrible fit of coughing. It was not smart to run in her condition- that was sure. Wheezing, she reached her hand up and wiped a tear that leaked from closed eyes. Her knees gave out and she fell to her backside. She didn't mind too much- sitting made breathing easier. She attempted to push her gray locks into her navy hat that was littered with small holes. She used it to not stand out so much with her odd colored hair. She tried to take a deep breath and to her relief- she didn't cough but her chest did shutter. She needed to get rid of this chest sickness is she was going to keep running from these horrible officials. She glanced to her left and picked up a discarded piece of paper near her foot. She read the black letters the best she could- with no formal education. What she gathered, it was a reward for people like her. Enough to feed a family for a year. Desperate people would do violent, stupid things for this kind of reward. "How lucky," She muttered to herself as she tossed the paper back to the ground.

Having been about midway through the process of forcefully shoving food into his mouth, Adrian looked up when he heard someone speak. Not only speak, but speak to him. He was so used to starting any sort of conversation first that there was a solid minute pause where he only stared at the girl across from him until finally realizing that this was getting awkward. "Oh, uh, yeah that's definitely my name!" he spoke with a smile in his voice and clearly on his face. His tired eyes suddenly appeared brighter and full of life; which definitely meant Adrian was one hundred percent awake and a thousand percent ready to chat. "You're Serenity right? I've seen you around a couple times but never got the chance to say hi. So uh...hi." Breakfast? Yeah, that was already forgotten as Adrian's entire focus was on this conversation. While that could appear as overwhelming to some -if not most people- Adrian couldn't really help it. He needed something to preoccupy his time with as his mind was constantly whirring with thoughts and ideas. If he was able to, he would focus all of that on making and tinkering with things -especially tinkering part, but that wasn't allowed. Which explains his 'hyperactive' behavior.

Hitomi stirred a little. Her eyes opened and she yawned. Was it morning already? The scent of food caught her nostrils-- a smell that was hard to discern these days among far more unpleasant ones, but she'd learned with practice--Lots and lots of practice. Whatever was being served would be a welcome diversion from the medicinal taste in her mouth. Reeling from the effects of some heavy anesthesia, she placed her feet on the frigid floor and stood. Only seconds passed before she smiled. "Time to eat," she stated, slowly stepping out into the hallway. At any other time, she'd have adhered to the schedule as though it were some hallowed creed, but today was an exception of sorts. She selected a plate and stared blankly at the selection of food for an unnaturally long time. It was as if two choices had suddenly morphed into two thousand and each was more tantalizing than the last. Slowly but surely, she placed a few eggs onto the plate and wandered over to the nearest table. It would take several moments more before she smiled again and waved at Adrian, Serenity and whoever else happened to be nearby.

Serenity waited patiently for his little paused daze to pass, her cheeks slowly heating up as the silence seemed to press a little longer. Her head tipped down a little, breaking eye contact for a moment out of pure nervousness. She was a bit relieved as he finally spoke, giving off a soft laugh “Oh! Good, good.. I hoped I hadn’t screwed up your name.. That’s a little awkward with some of your first conversations with people..” She believed to have briefly spoken to him before, as to what topic, she was completely blanking. She wished she remembered, because he seemed like a wonderful person to be around “Serenity it is.. Ren works if shorter is better..” She shrugged briefly, giving a small grin as she put some more food into her mouth “Well, Hi to you too then..?” She shook her head, laughing quietly. “Goodness.. I hope I’m not too awkward for you..” She rubbed at the back of her neck, her eyes catching a motion of what she realized was a wave. She gave a weak little wave back, giving Hitomi a small smile. Her blue eyes lit up a little, reaching her hand up a little higher to beckon the woman over to their table. Yet another person she needed to familiarize herself with, and was going to if she came over. Well, really that need was a want but either way, she was trying to push herself to speak to people more and more often. And today was going to be that ‘more often’

Hitomi stood and made her way over to the table. Her excitement was easy to mask for the most part but the slightest bit was evident on her face. Taking a seat, she thought of several greetings before settling on the simplest one she could manage. It was easier that way-- easier when thing weren't overcomplicated or too grand or too embellished. It wasn't that she didn't understand how things worked or that you never really got a second chance at a first impression; she simply hated that little fact. After a few small breaths she looked at Serenity, "Hello," she greeted before looking at Adrian "Hello to you too, Adrian."

Rowan Summers
Arriving at Facility
Affected RP'ers:
T Tinytiger28

The ride was bumpy, though that may have been partially attributed to his seating arrangement. Sitting in the back of an armored truck on a metal bench wasn't exactly a squashy arm chair. The ride was however, fairly short. Something Rowan was grateful for. Ever since he'd been taken in by the police, he'd been stuck in one uncomfortable situation to the next. At least he'd be able to strecth his legs properly when he would be let out.

As the truck rumbled to a stop and the clanking of the engine died down, the sound of heavy footsteps replaced them. In a moment the lock of the back door clanked, and the door was thrown open. Sunlight streamed into what had been a nearly pitch black interior, causing Rowan to quickly shield his eyes. The guards, heavily armed and wearing body armor, did not seem interested in giving Rowan's eyes time to adjust. Grabbing him his forearm, they pulled him outside where they did a quick check to make sure he hadn't -somehow- picked up anything he wasn't supposed to during the ride.

"Hey now sugar-cakes, take me out to a dinner first next time." He taunted. The guards ignored him. That was too bad, Rowan would have to try harder.

"Nice weather were having. How's the wife and kids?" Still nothing.

"You know, that hairstyle makes you look absolutely dashing. It goes well with the High-powered Assault Rifle you got there." That got an annoyed look. He'd have to take that for now, they were entering the building. The guards lead him down some hallways, he waved at whatever security camera he could find. He was a little surprised they weren't doing anything to ensure Rowan didn't memorize the path out. This place must be pretty sure about its security abilities. A sight up ahead suddenly caught his eye. Another group of guards, armed just as his were, escorting another person. It was a little hard to tell from the distance, but Rowan would have bet quite a lot of money that the person being escorted had powers just as he did. Probably was about to get the same introduction to this crazed science lab Rowan was about to get.

Rowan sped up, which annoyed his guards. They probably didn't like the idea of looking like they were being lead by the person they were escorting. That wasn't really Rowan's concern though, he just wanted to catch up to this other super-human and size him up. It only took a hallway and a half for him and his guards to end up right behind the others. He fell into step just behind the other group, watching the other escort. He seemed a few years younger than Rowan. 18? 17? And definitely looked more afraid than Rowan himself felt. Of course, there was only one thing to say to a scared individual after sneaking up behind them:

"Boo."

Now that the awkward tension he had caused was gone, Adrian appeared much more relaxed -or at least more than he did. "Ren huh? That's a nice little nickname. There really isn't a good nickname for Adrian, so I don't have one, but if you're not comfortable with me using yours then I won't." After all, Adrian didn't want to be pushing his boundaries with someone he was really just meeting for the first time. At her little 'hello' back, he couldn't help but let out a soft little hum of a laugh. "Awkward? For me? I feel like I should be the one saying that," he admitted, raising a brow at Serenity. "Most people either find me annoying, awkward, or obnoxious. I just hope I'm none of those right now." Catching the small wave from Hitomi out of the corner of his eye, Adrian turned and gave her both a smile and wave back. He had seen her a few times whenever he rounded a corner in the hallways, but that was it. Adrian never really saw her react with anyone -but maybe that was just bad timing on his part.

"Heya Hitomi. How are you?" Currently Adrian was doing his best not to show just how overly excited he was at the fact that he was having a conversation with two people now. Two. Two people that weren't faculty staff. Well then again, the conversations may not last long if Serenity or Hitomi start finding him to be obnoxious; hence why Adrian tried to act as normal as possible. Which was really just him forcing himself to eat to stop from smiling like an idiot.

Daxter walked at a slow pace behind the guards, attempting to calm his still racing heart. Subconsciously, he had already begun to bite his lip again, though, this time it was less hard.
He didn’t hear anyone creeping up behind him, but what he did definitely hear was someone whisper “Boo.”
Dax, being Dax, practically jumped a foot in the air, biting his lip even harder than before in the process, and whirled around in the blink of an eye. Of course, his throat didn’t like this very much, and decided to slap him in the face with the tightening of his vocal cords, leaving him gasping for breath. Stumbling for a moment, he found himself himself leaning against a wall. A few moments passed of silent choking, with his mouth opening and closing soundlessly like a fish out of water as his throat constricted against his will. He paused, closing his eyes and taking a second to forcefully calm himself.
After he felt his throat relax, Dax slowly opened his eyes again, finding himself staring at a man of twenty-ish, whom was taller than he was, not that he wasn’t used to that, with dirty blonde hair and a muscular build. At least, he was more muscular than most people he saw, ninety percent of said people being malnourished so badly their ribs showed.
Dax blinked, glancing down at his own scrawny body, which was covered by a stained navy blue sweatshirt that was two sizes too big and a pair of jeans that had gotten ripped up a while back, leaving tattered cuffs. Cringing inwardly, and still halfway scared out of his mind, he lifted his hand and timidly waved at him, attempting to wipe away the blood congealing on his lip while he did so. He forced a smile, trying to seem as harmless as possible.

"Well," Hitomi answered. She was tempted to ask whether either of them were enjoying their meal, but the answer to that was obvious. "Today everything tastes like sandpaper. The chef is improving." She remarked dryly. It didn't matter how awkward things seemed. With enough conversation, the ice would eventually break. She was sure of it. Right now, few things seemed better than making a new friend or two. She took another bite of the eggs and swallowed several times in an effort to keep it in whichever stomach was in use at the moment. In all likelihood, a normal person wouldn't fare much better.

Daniel Grimes
(Location: Facility/ Tags: P pushed )

Sleep. One of Daniel's least favorite thing to do. He only required four or less hours of sleep. Never more. Always paranoid when it came to slumber. Afraid of something ambushing him. A habit of his past to keep him from being captured and a lesson well learned after he parent's death. Darkness has become his enemy as he stared into night being vigilant of the world beyond his room for any news. Why he strived to live he never knew, yet the thrill of destruction brings the male excitement. An excitement which depicts him as a merciless, destructive, pyromaniac. A creation made by this world whom sits alone in the dark tormented by his own thoughts. As would anybody if locked in solitude.

As the morning light peeks through, the morning ritual began. Breakfast, a source needed just to get by. Usually, Daniel refused to participate until he heard of a rumor peeking his interest. One he dared to challenge. "Finally." He grunted as he casually wanders out of his room towards the cafeteria.

Once he gather's his plate of disgusting food, his eyes scan over the zombified looking people. Well at least the one's that seemed tired that is. Throughout the time he's found out about the rumor about someone being strong within the facility, Daniel has interrogated almost everyone causing conflict. Lately, he's been keeping a low profile to keep the heat from nagging him about his sudden misdeeds. There were a group of people at a table conversing so mildly. He hasn't interogated them before. He takes another intake before deciding not to. It seemed unlikely that any of those peppy kids could possibly be the one he's looking for.

Daniel let's out an exhasperated sigh taking a seat across a angry, scared guy. "This seat taken?" He sternly asked.

Serenity gave a little smile, her free hand tapping at her knee to busy her mind a little "Well, thanks.. Ren is fine, that's kinda why I told you.. I'll eventually come up with a nickname, you watch me. BY the end of the day, I will hopefully have something for you..!" She laughed quietly, actually serious about it. If she was going to talk to him more often, a little nickname to quickly call him would never hurt. Wall someone else spoke, she glanced down to her food. She was extremely hungry, but she wasn't sure if she could stomach the nasty eggs they tried to feed them. Her eyes widened a little has he laughed, her confusion visible on her face for a moment "Really? I think your approachable actually.. Hints as to why I walked over" She gave off a soft chortle "So basically, no, you are none of the given answers above.." She put her spork down, looking down to the food in faint disgust. Of course, it was better than going outside and dealing with no food, it still wasn't pleasant. If there was a little more flavor to the food then she cold probably stomach at least all of the eggs she had served up for herself.

She chuckled at HItomi's comment, shrugging "Well, eating a little of it isn't as bad as not eating at all.. I wonder what all of the facility eats. Like, do they eat this bullshit or do they get special treatment and eat stuff that isn't as bad..?" She sighed, shaking her head at her question "Anyways.. I clearly haven;t been paying much attention during training, but what are your abilities, you guys?" She pushed her food over to the side, her stomach threatening to bring it all back up. She looked around the cafeteria as a few more people slowly came in, her hand rubbing her jaw. She winced slightly as she gingerly touched a bruise, sighing under her breath in annoyance. She probably had hit herself in the middle of the night, or ran into something. Either one was highly plausible with her.

"Really? Well alright. Thanks Ren!" While having a nickname being made for you may not be super exciting for most, it had Adrian both excited and incredibly happy. It wasn't often that he found a person to talk to that was nice to him. Normally whenever he would strike up a conversation with others, they would either be a simple hello, a bland conversation, a depressing conversation, or being ignored altogether. Needless to say, this was a much nicer change in pace. Plus Serenity didn't find him annoying? Yep, today was a good day -at least so far anyway. By now, Adrian's plate of 'eggs' were cold, but he forced down at least two more bites before deciding he was done.

Listening to Hitomi, Adrian almost choked on his food from laughing; covering his mouth until he finally finished eating. "T-that's true, they are really bland," he stammered after catching his breath -not having expected Hitomi's dry -but very true- statement. Truthfully, Adrian hadn't really thought about what everyone else in the facility eats, yet he didn't care too much about that either. If they ate better than everyone else, sure it was unfair, but complaining about it probably would do more harm than good.

The instant Serenity asked about their abilities, Adrian lit up. He absolutely loved talking about powers as not one person really would have the same thing as the next -making them unique. "I can create force fields around myself, other people, or over objects." As much as he would have loved to show an example of this, everyone knew that showing powers outside of training was prohibited. "Recently I think my powers might be getting stronger because there are a few occasions where a small ring will appear in the ground in place of where my force field would have been. So now a lot of the faculty are wondering if- actually it would be better to show this." Taking his plastic fork, Adrian laid it down flat on the table. "Okay, so imagine this being my force field," he said as he drew a circle with his finger around the bottom of the fork, through the middle, and then back around. "My force field didn't cover the entire thing. So the question the faculty are trying to solve is: if my powers are getting stronger, would the fork be cut in half since it's half in and half out of the force field? My force fields are really just a manipulation of the energy around me, so they're basically wondering if I'm creating enough energy to possibly cut through things with my powers and potentially use them offensively even though they're supposed to be used for defensive purposes." After his explanation, he put his fork back on the plate and paused; his cheeks heating up in mild embarrassment. "U-uh sorry, I rambled a bit. I kind of got excited...Anyway, what about you Ren? What are your powers?" He asked, hoping to steer the conversation away from him so that Serenity and Hitomi had a chance to speak

Hitomi's mind was at work. Both Adrian and Serenity had raised such interesting questions and the list of them was lengthening by the second. Increasing Power? Class? Abilities? It all had to fit together somehow, but the hour for pondering that was a late one. When every corner of the facility became shrouded in inky blackness that made frightening shapes on the walls and there was only cold and quiet--that was the time for analyzing such things. She watched Adrian's demonstration before deciding it was best if Serenity answered first. After all, she wasn't quite sure how to explain her powers anyway. With an almost mechanical tone, she spoke, "Yes, what are your powers Ren? Are they like Adrian's?"

His eyes were stuck shut together and he was sleeping on a ruined couch sleeping without interruption, but that was until a part of his hideout fell on his head. Grumbling, he woke up with a slight headache with a crow cawing. The last days were pretty calm compared to usual, which was remarkable these days. The annoying light coming out from his opened wall had become charming compared to before, maybe he got used to it. He took a rock near and threw it on the outside which made the crow fled away. He took a deep breath and stood up on his couch, removing the knife under his single torned pillow. It was silent for a moment, and he hated it. Why? His mind tortured him when he could be at peace. Hence why he had to think of something else in order to stay sane.

"Two bullets left, rations for a week..." He thought.

The food he had stocked was almost entirely gone. He left his couch and carefully steps out of his own trap , in case any intruders would try coming. Veneth was paranoid at night, scared to be stolen from poors or caught by the facility. Finally, he went outside wearing black clothes stained with dirt. With each step, he was careful with each movements everyone around him. He became this observant after all the trickery he had to endure on the streets. However, he didn't need superpowers to notice a girl running between a crowd, like she was in extreme danger. Intrigued, he decided to follow her part. He reached her building with slow movements until he found her.

He approached her and took the paper she tossed away. His eyes glanced between the paper and her hat covering her face.
"This many for a young girl? That seems like a lot for an easy target. They have really no shame." Would she see a bounty hunter standing in front of her? He was intrigued in this answer, although he didn't really had the build of one with his slim look, but most people would be scared by someone following them anyway, even more in a dark place. He had a Admittedly, he had empathy for her, though his face didn't show anything if it was interest. It was usual to see broken people out there, but her frail body was worse than most of them.

"Can I ask you, how did you ended up here?"

The silence was quickly interrupted with the sounds of a chipper voice despite the early hours. The boy, Adrian, was greeting people as they entered his circle. His warm, tenor voice invited others to the gentle embrace of his company with little hesitation. His puppy-like smile and shaggy platinum hair gave him an almost angelic appearance while his hyper, speedy words ensured no awkward silences. He was joined by two others- a female that reeked of sterile alcohol named Hitomi and another girl with bouncing curls and a shy timbre to her soft-spoken words. Serenity was her name, though he could not be certain. He never actually spoken to these people more than an informal greeting of a grunt or something of that nature. But he was observant and it didn't take rocket science to learn people's names when there wasn't much else to do. The older man cocked an eyebrow at the sight of the girls relaxing in the presence of the puppy Adrian. He never thought of the boy as a ladies man- but perhaps there were horns holding up that metaphoric halo after all. If he had learned anything in his short life, it was people were complex creatures. His attention shifted with a scowl as a shadow loomed over him. He did not like things looming over him. A large tree of a man stood near him gesturing to the open seat at his table. Daniel was an exotic looking thug himself with a lanky frame and gothic taste in style. Benji, himself, wore more reds. He nodded his head to affirm he could take a seat across him though he didn't speak. His jaw was clenched as he pushed a bit of rubbery egg across his plate. Should he say something to the kid? He never liked him all that much just based on his attitude witnessed second hand. He always had this... superficial superiority aura around him that pissed him off. The guy was just like all of them there- freaks and experiments. Sighing, he pulled his narrowed eyes to the aloof man across from him. "Why don't you go bother Adrian? He looks like he is in the mood for company." The other man vaguely gestured to the group nearby with an uninterested flick of his hand. Hopefully, he would take the hint and move on. He wasn't built to have friends- not in this place. This place was a pit of sorrow disguised as a fun day camp that you can never leave. Getting attached to people caused more pain than being stabbed by a knife. It was a hard lesson he didn't want to revisit.

The sound of a masculine voice breaking through the quiet rasp of her lungs caught her so off guard that Emmaline didn't even jump. She simply looked up into the eyes of a tall stranger hovering over her prone body. She blinked up at him with wide eyes as she took in his features with a quickness. His face had some hollowness to it from malnutrition and there were dark circles under his piercing blue eyes. His voice didn't sound pained and actually came out confident. She realized she was scanning him for injuries before she could stop herself. Old habits died hard. Beyond the things that medically caused her some concern, he was a fashionable guy with good looks. She gave him a hesitant smile as she pulled herself off the ground with a wheeze. "I doubt it is me they are trying to get. After all, what can I do?" She didn't realize how coy she could be but she didn't want to give away too much. Her gut wasn't twisting and urging her to run. Then again- he looked hungry and her doctor friend didn't look evil when she lived with him either. The thought would have caused her sadness if it wasn't for the fact she was completely ignoring and burying it deep inside her. It was working for now. She brushed away a tear that still clung to her dirty cheek before offering him a much larger smile. "I live here. Don't you? I don't have enough money to live in town- so I make do with what I have." She shrugged her shoulders as if it was no big deal- because to her it wasn't. Her eyes dropped to the fruit in her hand and she remembered it was there once more. She thought about the bounty on her head before offering the fruit to the gentleman in front of her. "Here, you look hungry. It isn't much, but the fruit should give you some energy and put some color back to your cheeks. You know, you really should get more sleep. It will come back to bite you if you don't get at least 6 hours." Her scoldings were gently given and sounded odd coming from your youthful, soprano voice. Still, she was a wannabe doctor deep in her heart. And caring for people came naturally- which meant she didn't once think he was going to suddenly attack her for the bounty. She was naive, to say the least. She wiggled the fruit at him so he would take it and she could move on. Just standing there in one place was making her antsy. "I should get going though. I can smell the rain coming in- so you should find some shelter yourself. You will catch a cold- plus your jacket will be ruined if it is acid rain." They didn't happen often- but when they did, it was dangerous. It didn't burn through buildings- but fabric for sure. And skin. Not to mention the sickness that comes from exposure. Many people who lived in the poor areas suffered from the disease.

Serenity was all smiles at this point, Adrian having lifted her morning gloominess at this point, “Of course..” She hadn’t expected such a detailed explanation of his powers, but she enjoyed being able to hear him speak. His voice was rather soothing to her, which was slightly odd at his hyped up speed. She didn’t mind it much though. But as he spoke, her eyes followed his hands, eyes widening slightly at the thought of being chopped in half by a force field. It sounded like too much pain for her liking, plus a pretty sucky way to die ‘Serenity? Oh her.. yeah she was chopped in two by a forced field’. She held back a laugh, pressing a hand to her lips to try and calm herself down. “Rambling is perfectly fine, but uh.. remind me not to piss you off during training..” She allowed a tired laugh this time to escape past her hand “My powers? Goodness. I forget how to explain things..” She chuckled softly, pulling apart her braid for a moment to reveal her natural curls

“Alright, So you know older stories of people who can like, shapeshift into animals or even other people?” She let the silence hang for a moment, continuing to finish her explanation with a smile “Well, instead of that I am able to shift my arms into melee blades. I’ve recently trying to learn how to shift them into like axes and big ass hammers, but the weight is a little too much for me to handle at the moment. But goodness, I am no where near advanced, but I usually make them into like katanas for fighting. The plus side of only having blades as weapons, is I’m actually very good with hand-to-hand combat.” She smirked “I’m basically saying I may be on the smaller side, but you get into a fight with me and I’m most likely to kick your ass..” She grinned “I wish I could last longer with my blades though.. I haven’t lasted longer then maybe ten minutes before my arms turn back to their normal state. Plus, no ones trained with me so I haven’t had good practice. I’m stuck with the lifeless dummies to work with and I find it annoying because then I can’t be ready for their strategy or or.. suprise attacks and..” She paused, peering up a little “Maybe I’m rambling now.. Anyway..” She started to twist at one of her curls, her head turning to Hitomi “What about you? You seem a little quiet over there..” She touched at her nose, frowning a little at the abscene of her nose ring. She slid her hand into her pocket and unscrewed it’s little ball to slide it into it’s piercing with such smooth ease. She tightened it up, wriggling her nose a little. The piercing shifted as her nose moved, chortling quietly

Daniel shifts over to the table behind him as gestured by the uptight, sounding man. The same table he almost approached. He turns back around to face "scarface". "I would, but you see, they're just not my cup of tea. See I'm searching for a certain someone. One that peeks my interests. They say he's the toughest guy with awesome powers and I don't believe a bunch of powder puffs who will just-" Dan lifts his spork as it hovers over the rubbery eggs which he then spears harshly creating a loud slamming noise on the table. Chunks of egg land on both the table and the scared man. "-End up dying. One day they think making friends is fun causing them to turn soft. The next day they're dead on the floor. Blood, guts splattered all because they were weak. Don't they know the world is salty with people wearing masks to hide a one's true intentions? Anyone who's strong knows this all too well." Amber eyes gleam up at Benji as well as a devilish grin. "Wouldn't you agree?" He scoffed.

Adrian let out a small nervous laugh at Serenity's comment. Truthfully he would love to actually train with someone new -it would be good practice. Plus he was getting tired of training with the same people over and over as it got way too predictable. Adrian was a fast learner anyway, so he got bored quickly if something new wasn't thrown his direction. As Serenity began to explain her powers, Adrian's body language visibly changed. Well, besides the seemingly permanent smile on his face. He leaned forward slightly in his seat, rested his elbows up on the table, and placed his head in both of his hands as he listened intently.

"Shapeshifting? Yeah I've heard of that. I think someone here can turn into a shark...not very helpful on land though," he answered, growing more curious until- Holy crap she has arm swords! Adrian already had a wave of questions he wanted to ask Serenity about her powers, but he waited as patiently as possible until she finished her explanation. The instance she finished, Adrian's inner nerd came out at full force. "So when you shapeshift, are you able to do small knives or only larger weapons like katanas or swords? Are the blades always sharp? Do they ever get dull? If they do, how would you sharpen them? If you sharpened them, would it make your arm look different when you shapeshift back? Is it just melee blades or can you have literal finger guns? How would you shot them? Would your ammunition be your own blood? If your blade gets chipped or damage, would that be equivalent to a cracked or broken bone?" It was as if Adrian's eyes were sparkling with child-like curiosity as he awaited the answers. That was until he realized that maybe he should calm down and maybe he should let Serenity breathe for a minute. Oh, and let Hitomi speak since he still wanted to know what her abilities were as well. If Adrian had a tail, it would be wagging so fast that it would just be a blur behind him from how excited he was to learn about other peoples powers.

The tree speaks up in an intimidating manner but it simply rolled off Benji in an almost amusing manner. All he could think was this Tree was full of bark. The older man leaned his elbow on the table to size up Daniel with a dismissing glance. "You talk too much," his voice came out stern in his deep, baritone voice. Though he may have been amused for a moment- he wasn't amused enough to let this little kid walk trying to intimidate him. The room was a talkative flurry with the warm scent of food clinging to the air. It would have been the start of a good morning if this prick would've started running his mouth. He felt his eyebrow twitch as he continued to speak in a harsh tone. "Yes, you speak far too much for someone who knows so little. Why don't you grow up some and come back to me with a little insight, little sapling." He smirked as he shifted back comfortable in his seat. This kid needed a wake-up call but it wasn't his place to do it. Hopefully, he would busy himself with making friend with the pup rather than sticking his nose into Benji's business. "Now, scurry on." He said dismissively. It was a bit much of him, he admitted. But something about this sapling got under his skin. It was probably the way he spoke in his high and mighty tone or how confidently he spoke about friendship. This man knew nothing about friendships or the troubles of keeping them. Perhaps part of him was taking his words personally. A small part.
