Realistic or Modern Doki Doki Vol. 1

Offer to buy Daichi's drink.

As a sort of apology accepted. ^33^

Let him buy your drink.

For one thing, we can expect drinks around here to be fairly expensive since we're the only non-rich people in a school for rich kids. For another, people tend to take it better when you let them make amends. Us buying his drink may be misconstrued as us not accepting or not fully accepting the apology, even if our intentions are other, plus if he feels guilty at all, then again letting him make amends is the way to go and I'm willing to bet on the chances of him genuinely being sorry.

Offer to buy Daichi's drink.

I like Epiphany's attitude. If Daichi's going to apologize, then he should at least let us treat. It's a matter of pride.

Choice: Let him buy your drink.

At first you might have declined the offer, but after you got closer and see the cost of the items here, you pale somewhat. Perhaps it was to be expected of such a school that costs like this were high. You just give Daichi a small nod of agreement to allowing him to buy you a drink, which when he asks what you want you just ask for some green tea. When you both reach the barista Daichi orders your drink as well as ordering the same for himself, but one size larger. You mentally weep at the cost. You were given an allowance by your parents who would deposit money in your account every month, but you'd have to be very frugal with it. At least your breakfast, lunch, and dinner were included in your scholarship.

"If you want, go find someplace to sit and I can wait for the drinks," Daichi suggests. You agree and turn to look around the bustling cafe. There weren't any seats inside that were open, but outside there were a few small tables. You point out where you're heading and then go to claim a table and seat. Within five minutes Daichi comes out with two drinks in hand and sets down the smaller one in front of you on the table before sitting down across from you.

"So, why did you want to come to Eitoku? I'm sure there were many places you could have attended when you were making a choice," he asks you.

"It wasn't because of the internet celebrity kids if that is what you are thinking," you being, assuming he thinks you joined to get access to famous people. "My parents travel frequently for work and this was a boarding school. I figured I would give it a shot rather than stay at home alone and going to school somewhere else. If after a semester here or even a year it doesn't work out, I could just transfer to a school that fits me better."

"So, you just didn't want to be alone then?"

"N-Not just that but, I also don't want my parents to worry about me being left home alone."

"Hm."

You and Daichi drink your tea in silence at this point and it begins to bother you.

Ask about swim team.

It seems early for contact info, but who knows with him? ^;3^

Choice: Ask about swim team.

Choice: Ask about swim team.

"I'm curious about the swim team here," you begin by picking a subject. You weren't ever really in a swim team before yourself. You had tried out a few times, but against so many others you were always so close to being selected but never quite getting there. "I'm not sure I should bother trying out myself, like... how harsh are the tryouts? Are there a lot who compete to get on the team?"

"Any sport team's tryouts can be competitive since there are only so many that can be accepted onto a team. You can only fit so many bodies into the pool for practice after all. Have you never been on an actual swim team before?"

You stare down at your drink for a moment before taking a sip as an excuse to not confess the truth or to at least delay having to inform him. "I see," Daichi says, reading into your silence, "You've never been success at getting past try outs. Let me guess, something about your form, speed, and so forth? That you need to train harder? I'm sure when they told you this you laughed at the irony that you couldn't train harder without someone to direct you."

Oh Diachi was good. You take another sip of tea.

"Did you never bother yo ask the swim coaches about who or where you could go for that training?"

You shake your head and sigh. Why did it feel like you were being lectured a bit?

"You probably know where I am leading with this based on your glum expression. Those that tryout and make the teams are those who put in hard work, effort and quite a large chunk of their time.
Those that really want to be on the team will struggle, train, and seek out help to reach that goal."

Ask him train you.

We may get offended a lot, but at least we know he'll always be honest with us, and that's a good thing in a trainer.

Ask for advice.

I don't think we are close enough to Daichi to ask for him to train us yet, nor do we know him enough to be sure he even can. On the other hand, it'd be foolish to dismiss his advice. I think we would do better to get advice and figure how to train by ourselves, then build up to show him how far we are willing to go.

Ask him to train you. Since he is the captain of the swim team, he has the capacities to train us. Also, it’s a golden opportunity to become closer to him.

Ask for advice.

I'm gonna play it safe for now. He might flat out reject us if we ask him to train us. Maybe we can convince him later that we got the potential, by demonstrating our swimming abilities or something like that.

Ask him train you.

I don't think competitive swimming is something we can figure out on our own with just some advice. Since this is something we're passionate about, we have to at least try. There's no harm done if he rejects us.
