Well, if depends on where I'm using, or where people are using it. I generally accept (intentionally) badly spelled words, especially if it's used by dear friends, or in the purpose of spirited humour, something which I often do. Although, I don't have a fond likening for acronyms, something which I rarely use. As they seem... Rather sarcastic to me, but each to their own opinion.

I dislike it, heavily, if someone uses it IC, something which irks me beyond reason, with the exclusion of using IC phone message codings.

All in all, text speech is a thing that has fostered itself a place in the hearts and minds of the millennials, and who am I to stop something done in a purely good will?

I'm in between! I only use some slang, but strictly for ooc chats only but yeah, I prefer to stick on complete normal words.

But yeah, some slang(s) like yolo, tbh and smh kinda tick me off
agree!

I personally despise most text speak except for maybe "lol" and "omg." Those don't bother me so much. I guess I hate it so much because I'm just a bitter and old lady that gets creepy online "text speech" messages from grown man children on dating websites or chatrooms. I usually close a message if someone asks me "hi, hw r u" that really grinds my gears!

I dislike it about as much as 2nu. Don't look that up.

Just don't.

And Nudoc, don't look that up.

It's like 24-year-old Japanese super soldier rockstar x 49-year-old lizard-man.

I may be new here, but I'm an old dog when it comes to role playing. Nothing breaks it more then when someone throws in some random ass letters.

I have nothing against text talk, but rarely use it. I'll only use text talk when talking to some people in particular, because that's how they write and I occasionally feel more comfortable writing back like that. In roleplays, novels, formal communication, wtc, I highly dislike the use of text talk, but in casual conversation it's fine with me. A friend of mine and I have a slight grammar competition on, where we'll attempt to catch each other using incorrect grammar. He's winning. Anyway, my overall outlook is that text talk is fine in a casual environment, and I don't mind wether or not you use it in such an environment.

I dislike it during the roleplay itself, when roleplaying like others have mentioned it should come across like a novel not some jumbled up piece of writing. However when talking OOC or on skype for example I don't mind people using lol, omg and all that considering I use it, but yeah anything like 'hw r u' has no place anywhere.

Type properly in RP, in a formal bit of writing, etc.

Otherwise? I use tbh like it's going out of style. Jfc is also a common choice with me, as is lmao, tho instead of though, etc. I also tend to use commas like ellipses (like "wow,,,"--I read it in my head slightly differently than ellipses) and stuff like Random Caps for Emphasis and swITCHING TO CAPSLOCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A WORD to suggest a sudden switch from talking to yelling. Depending on the situation it can devolve even worse.... My grammar's usually pretty good on forums but if you're a huge stickler for grammar don't look at my Twitter, just don't, you'll probably have an aneurysm or something.

Oh, also, emoticons/emoji (the text-based ones like (~ ̄▽ ̄)~) are my lifeblood. I have a few emoji that I like on a sticky note so I can copy-paste them in whenever I want. Simpler ones I use a lot include :o , :'), ;u;, and ^u^.

I actually use a few text slang, like "TBH" (to be honest) and "IDK" (I don't know), along with a select few of the emoticons.

For the most part, though, I type everything out, because I don't spam text slang all over the place, and what text slang I do use is really out of habit. I can read most slang, but there are a few that confuse me--to this day, I'm still not sure if FTW is "for the win" or something else.

I'd say I like slang, though I'm somewhere in between hate and like. Well, I don't mind people using slang. It's just another way others express their feelings I guess.

Text slang, to me, and any other form of slang just enrages me beyond any reasonable measure as a self-proclaimed Grammar Nazi.
