My Interest Check
I know, for me, the question "What's your favorite book?" is complete and absolute hell. I read too much to pick a favorite! (I now say The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer if only to get people off my case.) But there aren't enough questions of "Who's your favorite author?" So I'm here to ask that.

I have a few favorite authors, but none of them more so than Maggie Stiefvater. Somehow, she manages to put me in a trance whenever I read her work. The Raven Cycle was an absolutely beautiful series. Whereas other authors describe too much, Maggie does it in a way that's beautiful and makes me want to dive into the worlds she's describing. Her language includes words I may not know, but she's graceful in how she includes them. (i.e. She knows how to use them and doesn't put them there to sound good.) Honestly, I discover something new every time I read another new book she's written. I'm excited to see where she goes next with her writing.

My second favorites, all lumped together, are Rick Riordan (I loooooooove his humor), Marissa Meyer (she thinks outside the box), and E. Lockhart (her characters are relatable to my own plights as a teenager).

So how about you? Who's your favorite author? Why are they your favorite? What are some of their books that you've read?

This question is so hard, too. But I will try. xD

Her books are definitely YA (at least the ones I've read) and for some reason, they always make me think of summertime. Not because that's when they take place, but because of the feeling I get while reading them. Someone who makes you feel something like that just thinking about her books is damn good. Her stories are life stories, life lessons that we could maybe all use. Keeping the Moon and Dreamland are my favorites, the latter being about an abusive relationship and the struggles that come with it. It's serious stuff, though some of them are more lighthearted, but she's an amazing author and I've read her stories over and over again.

Though she's written others, the books above are my favorites. They follow Firekeeper, a girl raised by wolves and her journey back into civilization. Now granted, the books do get sort of weird, and there is a complicated family system/royalty hierarchy thing, but it's still a great series filled with many great characters. I'd definitely read it again.

Oscar Wilde is one of my all time favorite authors, but in terms of newer books, Tui T. Sutherland is one of my favorites.

Ahhhhh Sarah Dessen I've been meaning to read her!
Nearly confused her with Sharon Draper gosh darn it

I felt like an edgy little fourth grader reading scary books as a kid. My favorite to read was Pet Semetary and my love for darker things continued from there so definitely Stephen King.

Diana Wynne Jones. I started reading her around 10-12 and never stopped. I love that she can make me laugh (and cry), how she creates fantastic characters and worlds, and how she wrote across so many genres. I have a special soft spot for Howl's Moving Castle and all of the Chrestomanci books (...except I haven't actually read the last one yet because when I do, I'll have no new Chrestomanci books left to read, and I can't live in that reality quite yet).

Either Dmitri Glukhovsky or Sarah J. Maas. Glukhovsky wrote my favourite book of all time, and Maas wrote (is still writing, actually) my favourite book series.

Uggh! There's so many! The one's I can name are Neil Gaiman for his Magnum Opus American God's, J.R.R Tolkien for the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings novels, H.P. Lovecraft for his horror novels, and Douglas Adams for his absolutely masterful absurdist humor in the Hitchhiker's series.

Yes! Neil Gaiman! That man is a master at sci-fi, fantasy, or any combination or adaptation of the two. I can't get enough of him. Also, J.K. Rowling because Harry Potter.

James Patterson and his Maximum Ride series
Erin Hunter for her (or rather their) fantastic Warrior Cats series
Brian Jacques for his amazing Redwall series

Stephen Covey for his AMAZING READ known as the 7 Habits

Arthur Golden.
Reading his writing is like watching a graceful ballet recital. Everything just flows so effortlessly and beautiful. He makes me want to feel what he feels or see what he sees.

I've always spent most of my time reading about science, so naturally my favorite all-time author is Carl Sagan.

However, if I'm considering fiction writers as well then I would have to say Markus Zusak since The Book Thief was a masterpiece in my opinion.

Hmmm lets see, that would be
A. Lee Martinez (he has such an amazing and unique writing style and Humor. Reading his books always makes my day because they are just wonderfully light hearted, especially Gil's all fright diner, monster control and too many curses.

my second favourite would be Terry Pratchett. He wrote the disc world novels and the world he came up with in his various books is purely amazing. From Ankh'Morpok to Death's land, this world and the books are awesome. Pratchett also, like Martinez, has a writing style I could recognize out of a thousand. His morbid metaphors in Mort were just too good!

Close third- J.K.Rowling. I'm a huge harry potter nerd X'3

Gillian Flynn has become a recent favorite of mine. I love her style of writing and the grit and darkness that seep into your brain as you read her stories are startling. Neil Gaiman, Erin Morgenstern, and Stephen King are runner-ups.
