Fandom Disaster in the Dreamscape

"That wasn't a very pleasant dream was it? No matter, you've woken up from it, it's a thing of the past now and you shouldn't worry about it."

Will's vision was now a lot less blurred.

"Ah yes, now I recall, your name is Wilhelmina Vandom. It's only fair that you know mine, since I know yours. I am Belmond Banderas. I operate this bar that has inhabited the Dream Realm since the very first dream, or so they say."

Louise awoke, her head resting against hard concrete. She was on a street - thankfully, not a busy one.
"Ugh... I... what happened?"
She awkwardly stumbled to her feet, and nervously checked her reflection .
She was a mess - pale, sleepy looking, and there was a small wound on the side of her head. And she felt something heavy in her pocket, but she didn't check what it was yet.
She staggered to the sidewalk, her feet unsteady, trying to take in her surroundings.
"Nem? Mark? Colonel?"

Will found herself blushing as her vision cleared. This man was certainly easy on the eyes. The Keeper’s brown eyes lit up only for her world to come crashing down to reality.

“Wait! I don’t have time for this! People are in danger! I have to stop myself!”

Will shook the stars from her head, quickly pulling The Heart from under her shirt to examine it.

“This is bad...”

--Sougo Tokiwa--

Half the day found, and Sougo and his friends were now staying on the rooftops, eating lunch. Keito and Tsukiyomi were doing some chit-chat as Sougo simply stared at his lunch with a dead stare. It feels like he's forgetting something, but he couldn't help but both relieved and worried...

"Sougo, are you sure you're alright?" Keito's voice shook Sougo out of his trance. "You've been staring at your lunch for a while now. Feeling sick?"

"Ah, no, no...It's just..." Sougo shook his head, letting out a sigh. "I had this weird dream earlier..."

"Dream?"

"Yeah. In that dream, I watched the two of you..." Sougo stopped himself, moments of their deaths flashing.

A black clad Keito growing weak in his arms.

An armored clad woman piercing a monster's back with a beam of light...

Once more, Sougo fell silent, memories returning to him.

"That's right...You two are..." Sougo placed his lunch beside him as he stood up, remembering who he truly is. At that moment, he approached both Keito and Tsukuyomi, pulling them close in a hug.

"Sougo?!" Keito yelped in protest, unsure how to feel.

Wake up, everyone! This is just Nightmare Moon's tricks!

"I know." Sougo smiled, nodding as a bright light start to surround them, static then flashing through Sougo's vision, stopping everything in its tracks as if time itself stopped moving. "I know this isn't really them...They're already gone, but..." He said softly, tears trailing down his cheek. The light intensified, and in a moment, Sougo's two friends were clad in their true outfits--clad in black and white. Faces obscured by the light.

"I...Don't wanna let go."

Soon, the light engulfed all, returning Sougo to the land of dreams.

2020: FALLEN KINGDOM

--Reed Boiyo--

A couple of days passed for Reed in his ideal dream. He decided that once a week, he'll go out and wander around the neighborhood to rest his eyes or something. Regardless, Reed would be sitting in the park, eating some ice cream.

Beside him was an old friend. Somehow, his face is all muddled, clad in a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

"Man...It's been a while since we hung out like this, huh?" Reed chuckled to his friend, glancing at him. "How's college treating you?"

"It's good." He nodded, "Though things aren't the same when I'm walking alone."

"Dude, that sounds gay."

"Hah, you think?" They both chuckled, having fun with each others presence.

Soon, as if it had been done before, Reed asked a question.

"Hey...What do you think you'd do if you're the last man alive?" Reed asked, jokingly. "You know, like an apocalypse scenario."

"...You know, I don't think I'm literally going to be last person alive there." He answered, "I'm sure there'll be other survivors--we just don't know it yet."

"You sure? Cause the way I see it, everything's gonna be..." Suddenly, Reed stopped, surroundings suddenly shifts into a wartorn environment. Buildings toppled down. Craters can be seen all over the place--a giant tower can be seen in the distance, appearing to be similar to a cord. "...Destroyed."

Even with the change in surroundings, Reed would see his friend in the same outfit, sitting in the same spot, smiling.



"What are you talking about, man?" He chuckled, his hand tapping the gamer's shoulder. "Even if that's the case, we just gotta find shit that's not destroyed, right?" He chuckled warmly, a familiar voice ringing in his ears.

Wake up, everyone! This is just Nightmare Moon's tricks!

"You heard her, Reed." He said, "It's time to wake up."

"But..." Reed about to protest, with his friend merely shushing him.

"No, no...I'm not even real." He said, still smiling. "I don't even know if I'm supposed to be alive at this point...But we both know you are." He said, bumping his chestplate.

"...After all this dream stuff's over, I'm going to get out there and find you." Reed declared, determination can be seen in his eyes.

"After a whole decade?" He chuckled, "You're crazy, man."

Everything started to fade away, leaving only Reed in a sea of white light.

"After everything I've been through?" Reed chuckled, placing his hand in his jacket's pocket. "Nothing sounds crazy anymore."

After a long while the king of time Tokiwa Sougo and the survival gamer, Reed Boiyo finally found themselves lying in an alleyway filled with...Cats.

"Huh...I don't remember if I had allergies or not." Reed quipped in the moment of his awakening.

"Ugh...Boiyo-san?"

"Oh hey, you're up too." Reed turned to Sougo, who was rubbing his head.

"What happened to Nightmare Moon?"

"Not sure." He shrugged, "I fell into her little dream sequence, too. Made me...Remember a few things." Reed then stood up, stretching. "Now then, where were we?" He asked, glancing around. "And I mean, where the actual hell are we?"

 

[Gaius Danius Griinia]

Izuru picked up the kitty and cuddled it. "Mr Kitty, I'm going to need the details on everything you know about this world. I promise many fishes if you agree to my terms" said Izuru as he rubbed its belly and scratched its chin. Izuru had become an excellent negotiator when it came to sentient animals. Normally a lot of them operated on a bartering system. They'd give you info or a bit of help if their needs were met. Hence why Izuru had decided to pick the kitty up. Rubbing his face against its soft fur, he remembered that he still wasn't wearing a shirt. Taking a look around at the medieval vibe this place gave off. He donned a black coat with a fur collar. It was snug and comfortable, like the kitty he held in his arms.

"You're in Ulthar," the cat that Izuru held in his hands spoke in a deep tone, directing his answer to Reed. "Lovely place, isn't it? Oh, and thank you for that, it is well-appreciated.

More details you say? For fish? A tempting proposal, but there really isn't much to say about this humble town. Sure, there's one or two rather grim stories and legends of the past, but this is simply a cozy little cottage, nothing more to it."

"Louise, you're OK!" Rem says, hugging the attorney. Alpha and Beta licked the attorney's face.

"Oh, I have never seen that one around. One of yours?" the cat Izuru held said as he looked towards Alpha.

"No one is in danger right now. I suggest you remain calm or you will stress yourself out," Belmond says to Will, "care for a drink? We have milk. Or would you prefer coffee?"

The money kraken slammed its tentacles down at Spongebob and the Hunter.

Meanwhile, on our main group, Nemurin would wave her hands and grant those without flight... well... flight.

"Everyone, are you ready~?" Nemurin asked.

"Zink you could buff my veapons tu?" the Commander asks as Nemurin waves her hands.

"You have been granted the powers of Calamity Mary~"

"You mean Calamity Jane right?"

"No."

"Ja?"

Snow White would fly alongside the Commander into the rift to the dream, finding the Nightmare Dopant above the clouds.

"I didn't think for a second that I could escape yo- WOOOOAAAAHHH!"

The Commander fired his gun, and instead of a single bullet, a thick photon ray barely misses the top of the Nightmare Dopant's head. During this brief moment of surprise, some of the money kraken on the sea level fight would begin to fall apart before being swiftly regenerating

Louise stiffened slightly, then hugged Rem back, a tired smile on her face. "Hey. Um, uh, did... is everyone alright?" She shooed off Alpha, laughing. "Don't get super excited. It's just me."

Her head ached, and she vaguely wondered if she had a hangover of some kind. She shoved the thought aside, and simply said, "I'm glad you're okay."

He had gotten lost and wonders around the place. Eventually he gets tried and sleeps on the ground. Snoring could be heard and he sleeps wishing he could wake up.

Will clutched her head again, trying to let the pain ebb away. She could barely feel The Heart soothe her. The once mighty gem of infinity had been inexplicably drained of its power. Just what had happened?

Then, it hit her. Like a titan hurricane hurtling at mach speed. Will was swept up in a spiritual maelstrom of memories. Mystic warriors, magic spears, and one fairy who had sparked darkness inside of her heart.

“I remember now.. I remember everything! The spirits and darkness and fighting my friends! How... how could I do such a thing?”

Will’s guardian form stood before her. cloaked in shadow. Her eyes were aglow with Quintessence, and she reached out to her younger self. Will backed away defensively, her expression turning into a glare. It was like looking into a twisted dark mirror.

“How could you! Why!? They were our friends!”

The Guardian snarled back.

“They held us back from our true purpose. Don’t you see? We were meant to use this power to bring balance to the multiverse. Not let villains run free!”

“No it isn’t! We were meant to PROTECT the multiverse! To guide and help others to a better way! Not throw our weight around like some bully!”

“Oh? Is that how you defeated Phobos and Nerissa? Tell me, Will. What did you think was going to happen!? Did you truly believe Othinus had been reformed!? No! She was clearly a lost cause!”

“That’s not for us to decide! Look at Cedric! He changed! So did Raythor and Tynar and all of our other allies in Meridian! I am not going to use my powers to bring judgment. Not anymore.”

The Guardian roared in anger, bolts of lightning striking the ground in front of Will. The Keeper didn’t even flinch.

“Look at us. We’re lost, underpowered, and running on fumes. You were once my sister. We fought together. Don’t you remember?”

“...All I wanted was my own identity. I was tired of standing in your shadow. I tried to be you, but I guess you just can’t best the original.”

Will smiled, walking over to take her older firm’s hands.

“I get it. But right now we need to focus. For too long we’ve been apart, trying to do our own thing. Now we function as one. Agreed?”

“....Okay.”

Will proceeded to hold out The Heart alongside her older form, which began to dissipate into light shards as she was absorbed into The Heart of Kandrakar.

After that, The Heart was glowing bright once more, at full power. Will felt a warmth envelop her, as if she had woken up from a deep sleep.

She looked at Belmont with a small smile on her face.

“Got any coffee?”

"Quite an adventure, wasn't it?" Rem asks Louise, "well, let's have another."

"Is this young man... unconscious?" an old man sees that Leo has fallen asleep on the ground and picks him up.

"I don't think he's from here," the old man's accompanying calico says.

They bring him into a house and place him on a bed...

Belmond walks out to the main room, greeting a little demon girl.

"Bangiras! We have guests!" she exclaims.

"So we do," Belmond adds, "what does our guest want to drink?"

Leo wakes up and wonders why he's in a bed. He looks for spare clothes and puts them on. He starts looking around the place. Finding a kitchen he makes himself some food. After making food and eating he starts to wonder where he is. "Where am I? Things just keeps getting worse. Am I ever going to escape all of this?" He wonders to himself. Looking around he doesn't find much to do or see.

"An... an adventure? I..."
She thought for a moment.
" Well, nothing... super draining, okay? That was the worst sleep of... a while. "
That was an understatement, unless maybe you counted her restless sleep in the mirror.
"Maybe... we should have breakfast first, or something. Do you think I could get pie somewhere around here?"

"Knowing these types of places, there has to at least be some type of marketplace here," Rem says, "the problem is - I'm not sure if the money we have now will be good for this place..."

"I hear that place over there accepts some strange currencies," the cat in Izuru's hands speak, pointing to Bar Deras, the bar they landed in front of, "one of your folk just entered."

Some spare clothes were found in the closet, and it was clear that this was an entirely different era. That, or this place hasn't caught up with the modern day, from Leo's perspective anyways. The walls, floors, bed and clothes were symptoms of a medieval era.

The kitchen too, needless to say, wasn't all that modern, not even using gas. Just coal, a lot of coal. There seemed to be enough to make a sandwich, supposedly.

"Taking the initiative? It's rude to take someone's food without their permission, you know," a voice spoke from behind. If he were to turn around, he would see no woman like the voice would imply, and there would only be a calico cat on the dining table.

He turns around and looks at the cat. "I was hungry and couldn't find anyone. Where am I and why would you bring me here?" A million ran through his head as he talks with this cat. He sits down on a wooden chair as his life keeps weirder with everything going on.

"Me? Bring you here? I don't have that kind of strength, young man," the calico laughs.

"I did," another voice spoke as an old man entered the kitchen. "I brought you here, seeing you unconscious on the ground. There is nothing more to it."

"Oh, there you are," the calico says to the old man, "I was wondering what you were up to."

He looks at the old man with wide eyes as he had scared him. He doesnt speak instead he plays with a tiny ball of his dream magic he created with his hands. He looks down at his hands as he creates a bunny. Listening to them speak or whatever nodding every so often.

Louise simply shrugs. "It... seems worth a shot. I'd be glad for some tea, too. " She smiles at the cat. "Um, thank you. We really appreciate it."
She thinks for a moment. "Do... you think that place accepts dollars?"

"Only one way to find out, isn't it?" the cat says to Louise, "the only way to stop wondering is to see cold, hard evidence for your cold, hard cash."

The old man and the calico leave the kitchen.

The attorney pulls the heavy object from her pocket- two things, actually (a beaded coin purse and what appears to be a wristwatch, which she examines with a look of faint amazement before securing it around her wrist.
She opens the purse, and pulls out a few bills- two fives and a twenty, although the purse likely holds more.
"Will... is this enough? I mean, I know money's kinda worth less than it used to be... "

Leo gets up and walks around till he finds the front door. Walking out he looks around trying to find the others. He doesn't find the others instead he finds a marketplace. He checks his pockets for some sort of money.

"You won't know until you see the menu with prices listed on it, girlie, just get in already," Izuru's cat acquaintance says, "also it's a bar, so get alcohol or get out of town."

"Get alcohol?" Rem asks. "I'm not that big a drinker..."

"Would you rather the other option, lady?"

"Whoever that is, he really does treat this place like his grandfather's road. Doesn't even say an 'I'm leaving' to us," the calico talks, watching Leo up and exit.

"I worry for him," the old man adds.

When Leo was out, he would catch a glimpse of someone while sifting through the crowds of the stinky marketplace.

It was him. It was Professor Shinigami. Professor Shinigami glanced at Leo before disappearing into the crowd, no evidence of him being there remaining. He grinned as the crowd consumed him.

But before he could continue looking, he would be distracted by someone else - a shopkeeper.

"You ruined my fine cheese! Do you know how long it took to make that?"

Lo and behold, Leo's shoes had crushed a fine cylinder of cheese.

Belmond's little friend prepares coffee for Will. One who entered from Ulthar would notice how modern the things were here compared to Ulthar, as evidenced by a coffee machine used.

"Oh, you're awake, Ms..."

The Keeper smiled lightly as she extended her hand to shake.

She glanced at the cat, faintly suspicious. "Anything else we should know?"
