Kairi breathed in a breath of fresh air of the country air of the campsite. Her and some of the other kids who all went to the same school decided to attend the same camp. It was your normal summer camp, campfires, canoeing the likes. Currently the young overall clad girl was sitting under the tree in the cabin area. She picked up her red digivice and poked at it, the Pufumon made a small chirping sound and danced around. Kairi giggled as she watched the digital monster play around. There was a chill in the air that promised a storm, hopefully she and her friends wouldn't be stuck in it.

R.J sighed as he leaned against a tree. He searched through his jacket pocket to dig out his old digivice. He looked down at the small device in the palm of his hand, trying to figure out why he still played with such toys. He stuffed it back into his pocket, not bothering to mess with it and decided to search for someone to talk to. He shifted his weight to stand up and began to walk around the camp grounds. He pulled out his phone, trying to check the time, but his screen never showed any time. It only showed a bunch of ones and zeros. R.J just shoved the phone deep into his pocket thinking he broke it.

R.J smiles and took the goggle head's hand and shook it firmly. "I can't say we have. I'm R.J and I was checking the time. Can't really get a signal out of this place. I think it may have something to do with this storm heading our way." He explained. He rubbed his hand through his blonde hair, sighing slightly. "Hey. Do you wanna go grab a bite to eat? Think today they're serving chicken tacos today."

Grigori was resting atop a large tree stump in a small glade in the woods by the cabin area. He looked down at the digivice and the virtual pet within, all in his hands. The Monodramon was thrashing about on the tiny screen, throwing punches left and right. The tiny program was incredibly rowdy for a mess of ones and zeros. Grigori laughed at the absurdity of it all, a guy his age playing around with a digital pet. He pocketed the digivice and exited the clearing, passing by a young girl sitting under a tree. He gave a brief nod to her and spoke. "Hello there, are you enjoying this camp as well? Could I interest you in a tomato?" He produced a vibrant scarlet vegetable fruit from one of his pockets, verbally offering it to the girl.

The trip had not been a good one for Leandra Grey.

First she left half her bags at home, leaving her without more than one change of clothes. Then on the first night some kid decided it would be funny to dye her hair pink while she slept (Leandra was without question the heaviest sleeper in the camp), and to top it all off Renamon was still giving the silent treatment.

When she thought it couldn't get any worse, Leandra ran into Daniel.

Literally.

"I am SO sorry!" She said , out of breath.

R.J glanced over Daniel's shoulder, grinning slightly. "You alright there? You seem to not all be here. Something on your mind?" He asked as he took his digivice out of his pocket once more, looking down at the Gabumon stare up at him as if he wanted him to actually do something. He put it back, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets.

Zet was walking home, minding to himself, listening to the Dragon's Dogma soundtrack ((Because apparently we already referenced it. Or at least OOW did.)) He hummed to himself as he spotted a small group of people, one girl just running into a guy. He shrugged as he thought he might as well see what the commotion was about. He spotted some of his classmates and people he knew, namely Daniel, R.J. and Leandra. He gave a friendly half-wave at them. "Hey, what's going on over here?" he said, his headphones still in.

R.J glanced over at Zet. He just shook his head and pointed at Leandra. "My guess was she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. Ran into my new buddy Daniel here and from what I can tell may not be having good day." He explained to the newcomer. He looked up at the darkening clouds, not liking how ominous they looked. He looked down at the grassy field, kicking a small patch if weeds softly.

Kairi looked up when a boy approached her. It was one of her classmates, Grigori. She smiled and nodded "Yeah, it's nice other then the chill in the air." she shouldered her loose overall strap. "It's strange weather for August." she said pocketing her digivice. She looked at the offered fruit, she found it quite strange that someone would carry around a tomato in their pocket. Oh well different strokes for different folks, she took the fruit and took a bite out of it. A large gust of wind blew in and with it came snowflakes. "What the...?" she said as it started to snow. She stood up and look up at the sky. "Snow?! In August?!"

Zet looked up, head bobbing as he was jamming to his music. He shrugged, "Glad I have a jacket on. This weather is fucking weird man." He looked back at Grigori, "I see. Cool. They seem to be alright at least." He shrugged, "Name's Zet. Cool to meet you I guess."

"Hmm.." Grigori hummed while looking up at the sky. "I've never seen something like this before. Perhaps this a portent of a blizzard? No, that would be silly...still, it wouldn't hurt to find some other students or a counselor and ask them about this." He then turned to the girl. "I'm not sure about you but I'm going to ask around, see if anyone has heard about this odd weather beforehand." He walked off in another direction, eventually finding another gaggle of students grouped around a tree. "Hello there, everyone!" He greeted them. "Odd weather we're having , isn't it?" He gestured to the snow falling from the sky, making his point.

"It is!" Leandra said, returning the greeting. "It really sucks that I didn't bring a jacket," She pointed to her red "coke" T-shirt and shrugged. "This is really all I got for warmth. This can't last too long, though, can it?"

Zet watched her mouth and red her lips, nodding as he took off his jacket and wrapped it around her, "It'll keep you relatively warmer. I can't guarantee how well it will do in an actual blizzard though."

Nathaniel kept himself largely separated from the rest of the campers, glaring aimlessly through his spectacles. At the time, he was having a very difficult time discerning what precisely had compelled him to ever allow that girl, Kairi, drag him here. The corners of his lips tugged into a grimace, noting that she was just sitting on her own beneath a tree not too far from his own, the likes of which he had his back flattened to. Chips from the flaking bark had begun to intertwine with his hair, but he couldn't bring himself to care. After all, that was the general outlook he had on his appearance in general. His hair shone beneath the muggy sky, reflective and somewhat greasy. His arms were folded tightly over his torso, his skin concealed much like the rest of his body beneath a sweater, the dark green of it fitting in no particular fashionable theme as though to complete his already unkempt appearance.

Upon the girl pulling out her Digivice, his fingers twitched to do the same, as it appeared to be the socially acceptable thing to do around this camp when there was nothing better to do, but he stopped himself. Though he had a Digivice of his own, dominantly a sort of lime green pallor, he had mostly bought one just to see what the hype was all about. As it turned out, the Digimon franchise was just another trending thing that was likely to fade by this time next year and it's greatness was blown largely out of proportion, even for those who were more into that sort of gaming. I'll just stick to my MMORPGs, thanks.

Nathaniel gave a long winded sigh of frustration from out of flared nostrils. He shouldn't have come. It wasn't like he was ever going to get in a canoe or risk whatever chemical run off that could result in sticking coat hangers with marshmallows tacked on. To make matters worse, he knew these kids, which certainly contradicted the statements that the pamphlet had made. Meet new people, make new friends, learn more union songs... His gaze drifted from the younger girl to the other children in company, making his countenance deepen in disgust. They were all so friendly with each other, conversation starting right off the bat...

His attention snapped back to where Kairi was seated, a boy even taller than himself approaching her with one such friendly demeanor. Nathaniel eyed him warily, becoming all the more baffled when he pulled a tomato right out of his pocket. Is this some sort of joke? Is he flirting with her? She's too young. Who carries fruit around with them, anyway? Is that even sanitary? Tomatoes should be washed before eaten, but you really can't trust the lake water here. What else could you have stored in those pockets of yours? What could possibly qualify your pockets as an appropriate place to store food items?

Nathaniel was broken out of his reverie at the sudden chilling sensation that spread over the tip of his nose. He looked down at it, though with no success. Instead, he unwound his arms from out of each other and traced a slender finger down the bridge of his nose, finding a somewhat damp spot on the end. Rain? No. Nathaniel tilted his chin up to the sky without lifting his head, leaving the back of his hair to become all the more mussed by the tree's bark, and squinted up at the gray scale blanket covering the length of the sky. Snow? How is that even possible? The sky has been overcast for a little while now, but... if anything, freezing rain. It shouldn't be anywhere near cold enough to do either of those things. Either way, he privately thanked his foresight to dress the way he did, even if he rarely wore any less.

He look back at the new couple again when they belatedly took notice of the weather. The loud way they speculated over it made his eyes narrow even farther than trying to see through the glare of the world, faintly irritated by their overreactions. A blizzard? Nathaniel gave a derisive snort. Idiot. This development of weather wasn't so completely out of the way that he needed to start predicting natural calamities to suddenly ensue, as well as seeking the counsel of the other kids. He froze, his index finger pressed against the steel frame of his glasses that he had just been in the process of pushing up. Wait. He's going to attract the attention of all those idiots and make them come over here. Romeo and Juliet are loud enough on their own without bringing the families to the party, and all of them are going to gather in this giant circle where all they do is state the obvious... I can't afford to be dragged into that. So without a word, Nathaniel finished the adjustment of his spectacles, wriggling his nose a little and pulling his mouth in a variety of ways in adjustment, before pushing off from his tree and backing off to another tree to lean against so as to ensure that the space between himself and them was not in danger.

'They"re standing under this tree.' Ethan sat high up, being extra quiet so no one would take notice to him. He didn't want to make friends here, for sure. Heck, he didn't even want to be here in the first place. 'Remember what dad said.' he thought to himself. The old man had pushed for custody during the summer and then, made no attempt to interact with his son at all. Maybe he was too busy taking Ruby out to dinner. The summer camp was "a chance for Ethan to learn how to become a man". The boy scoffed at the idea, but couldn't help letting his father off on the situation. There would be other summers--right?

His digivice beeped, signaling his Patamon's feeding time. The purple and black hardware had been a minor fluke on fate's part. See, it was supposed to be a limited edition Black WarGreymon. The promotion had come out close to his birthday and this was the one thing he asked for, the one thing he truly wanted. Money was tight, but his parents managed to pull it off...Except when Ethan opened the box and turned the thing on, a Patamon appeared instead of the uber-powerful monster of choice. Things were thrown and his folks were on the cusp of an argument--until he called out for them to stop. That gift had been one of the first things they'd done for him in a long time.. It even made them sit together for dinner, which they didn't do. Ethan was grateful for what the little Patamon had done for him.

Smiling at the memory of that day, Ethan picked the 4 year old digivice up off his belt clip. When his monster was fed, he turned his head back up toi the sky...to get a flake of snow on his nose. Ethan stared, perplexed by the oncoming frost that started to chill him out of his socks. The weather was weird, but not that weird. Snow in august doesn't happen just anywhere. He looked down and jumped, careful not to hit anyone or anything on the way down. Upon landing, his digivice started to give off a loud pitched -BEEP- that he'd never heard before.

"What's going on?" Ethan asked, pulling his shirt over his neck to keep some body warmth on him.

"T-thank you." Leandra said, smiling to Zet. "I appreciate it, really."

Before she could say anything else, Ethan walked up to the group, just as her digivice started to give off an annoyingly loud beep. "Hey Ethan!" Leandra said over the beeping.

Zet finally took his headphones off, pointing to Leandra's digivice, "Yo, Renamon is going crazy. She should take a cue from Dorumon and chill." Zet heard his digivice start going off too, "The fuck? Now Dorumon is going crazy. Great, Renamon is contagious."

Grigori heard his own digivice beeping wildly as it formed a cacophonous choir with the rest. He fished around his pocket in search of the gadget in question. "Lesse here....tomato, tomato, spare change, tomato, ah!" He withdrew the beeping mechanism from his pocket, displaying it to the rest. "I think my Monodramon may have caught the 'disease' as well." He chuckled. "Perhaps this odd weather is affecting the electronics? Solar flares messing with the Earth's magnetic field and climate, maybe? I'm not a meteorologist, so I wouldn't really know..."

Zet looked at Grigori,"Are we just gonna ignore the fact that you have an ungodly amount of tomatoes in your pocket? Really, who on earth needs tomatoes that much you're going to get gout dude. I'm worried about you. Probably more so than our digivices."

R.J chuckled at Zet. He rested a hand on the headphone wearing teen. "Leave the man be. He may have his reasons or he may not. Just like the reason why I'm wearing a jacket in the middle of summer. I do it cause I can even if it's a hundred degrees outside." He tugged at his jacket, ignoring the squealing coming from his digivice deep in his pocket. "And hey, you never know. We could one day get lost with the guy and we're hungry. I have to say that he's a man who prepares for anything." R.J dropped his hand to his side and looked around, trying to fixate on everyone's key features. "The names Rezso, but you can call me R.J if you want"

Kairi heard Kyaromon going crazy along with the others "Kyaromon, what's wrong?" she said talking to the digivice. She looked up at the sky and gasped. "Uh guys...why is the sky so funky lookin" she said. The sky was colored rainbow and digital code was floating around. "Okay, this is really weird."

R.J glanced up at the sky, his mouth wide open in shock at the sight. "Anyone know what type of weather this is? Cause I sure don't know anything about rainbow skies." He rubbed his eyes, thinking it was just the trick of his eyes, but he opened them back up to still see the crazy sky. "Yep I think I've lost it."

Grigori looked at the mess of computerized code that filled the multicolored sky. He blinked a few times then rubbed his eyes just to be sure he was seeing this right. He pulled out one of the tomatoes from his pocket and stared at it intently. After a few moments, he threw the thing away with a great deal of force. "Um, you didn't happen to eat any of the tomatoes from the mess hall too, did you Rezso? I think they may have gone bad. Either that or they're putting something in the water here."

R.J shook his head. Trying to fully comprehend what he was seeing. Then a small image popped into his head. A picture of his favorite kids show flashed in his head of a image of a vibrant sky. "That's impossible... It's just a tv show." He dig out his digivice to find that the screen was a patch of white light streaming from the screen. "What the?"
