Devastation (1x1 gemsona roleplay)

Citrine;;

Citrine felt horrible. She had let down her new found friends and got caught. Now, as she rotted in the cell, she sighed. I don't have much choice here. No one will come save me in time. Maybe I can at least try escaping once I'm back at Earth, but for now... She looked up and stared at Melanite. "Fine. I'll join your army." Smirking, the guard let her out. Honestly, she didn't think things could get worse, but she knew they wouldn't get better.

Melanite;;

Melanite smiled, seeing her plan work. "Great. You'll be a good asset to Homeworld in the war." When they let Citrine out, she was smiling, but she couldn't wrap her head around why. Melanite was the one who won here. Why was the gem seemingly happy to join their group? Not being able to figure it out, she frowned as she took off Citrine's handcuffs. "You're going to be training for some time while my soldiers heal. In that time we'll get everything settled between the government. For now, you'll be staying in the rookie bunker. I'll come help you later. If you don't know where to go, just go all the way down the hall and take the left exit, then look for the right building." Melanite's neck glowed, and she took a needle out of it. "We'll be placing a tracker in you. It's for all recruits." She stabbed Citrine's arm with the needle. "There, now you better not wander around and get to your bunker." Citrine started down the hall with a stiff expression. Melanite smiled, and turned around to go to the General's office. Now that was a gem that'd be harder to convince. She hoped the general would transfer Citrine, but felt like it would be hard to get her to. Melanite sighed. "I can do this. Don't worry..." but she already was worrying.

►Carnelian

Although Carnelian wasn't able to enter the building, that didn't mean he couldn't stick around and keep watch. He figured that if all went well, Citrine would come out eventually and he could confront her there. In the meantime, he stayed close to the building and kept his eye on the entrance. "She'll be here eventually," he reassured himself, not taking his eyes off of the door.

Melanite;;

---

"You WHAT?"

"Don't worry, I got it under control! She has no way to defy us." Melanite stood her groud, but was fairly nervous. Okay, so she got a little greedy and now was in trouble. But she knew she made a smart play. "It's better than just wasting talent, right?"

Honestly, Melanite wasn't sure what to expect from Citrine either. But it was too late to turn back now.

"Fine. I'll enlist her, but it'll be tough getting those transfer papers. You better not let me down."

"No problem, I'm a good officer. I wouldn't do anything stupid." She replied.

"You'd be surprised how many times I've heard that and have been let down by it."

"I won't let that happen," was all Melanite responded with before leaving to go meet up with Citrine again.

Citrine;;

---

Citrine couldn't get her mind off of Topaz and Obsidian. She felt so bad for running off and blowing it. She wasn't able to get the escape pod. Not to mention she had forgotten all about Emerald. "What am I going to do? There's no way I can get out of here..." She whispered to herself as she laid on an empty bed. The bunker was fairly large, but seemed pretty empty. It didn't look very clean, either. The beds and chests looked old, and the paint on the walls was fading or chipping. The door and corners were decorated with gems, but they looked depressing, old, and unpolished. The other living gems didn't look too much different. As Citrine looked around at the other new recruits, none of them looked happy. None of them looked well. Citrine turned on her side. "Hopefully it won't be long before I go back to Earth. I have to at least tell them what happened..." Citrine felt it the gems would be long gone by the time she came out of here, though. "What have I done..." She thought as she stared at the wall in front of her.

►Carnelian

After over an hour of waiting, Carnelian was starting to have concerns. If Citrine was successful, wouldn't she have left the building by now? What if he had arrived too late and she'd already left? What if she had never entered the building at all? Or worst case scenario, Citrine could've been captured, locked up in some jail, and he'd have no way of knowing about it. He knew he had to do something, but for now, all he could do was wait. He didn't have any other choice in the matter.

Melanite;;

"Citrine, you're all good to go. You've successfully been enlisted. You better start on your training and prune your skills." Melanite told her after getting back. Citrine stood up, and started to follow her to the training hall, but stopped midway.

"What are you doing, private?" Melanite asked a little harshly.

"I had an idea, and I want to know what you think."

Citrine;;

At first, things seemed hopeless. And they still were, but at least Citrine had a way to make the situation better. It was a gamble, but was worth a shot. If she could get out of here faster, she could at least warn the others.

"Will you being willing to duel me, and if I win, we don't have to train? I see it's important to you that I don't bog down your team any, and this way I can prove I'm already ready for battle."

Melanite listened to her proposal, but wasn't quick to respond.

"Come on, let me show you what I'm made of!"

Eventually, Melanite laughed at her. "Seriously? You can't beat me. I've been in the army for thousands of years, and I've never lost."

Citrine sighed. Maybe it wouldn't make the situation better, since this was an almost impossible task. "At least let me try."

Melanite turned her head. "Why are you so eager all of a sudden?"

Citrine didn't answer her question.

"Well, if you insist... But this will probably waste our time, not save it." Melanite figured. "Come on."

►Carnelian

Carnelian tapped his foot and debated whether he should keep waiting, or abandon this place altogether. It was completely possible Citrine never entered the building, but he had a feeling this would be the first place she'd go. She did have Topaz's security cards after all, so getting in would've been easy as long as she had a believable excuse. He doubted Citrine would jump straight into a mission without preparing for it either, so it was likely she'd go here to gather supplies. However, there was still no way to be sure.

He mumbled to himself, "I can't just keep waiting here. I'll be arrested for loitering by the time she gets out of there." Despite these thoughts, he continued to stick around just in case. He didn't exactly have any better ideas.
